We went here for a non traditional mother's day celebration, and it was great! We went for a late lunch, so it wasn't busy and the food came out quickly. For 4 adults and 2 hungry kids, it was under $200 (including the tip) and we all left full! Parking in this complex is tight, literally the stalls are tiny, but that's outside of this restaurant's control. Parking is free though, which is great, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating options to choose from. The menu is online, so you scan the QR code at your table, select your items, then click submit. As a result, it's a group order and not individual tabs. You can add things as you go too. It might be tricky for non tech peeps, but pretty easy for those who are familiar with the concept, and you can ask them to assist if needed. I don't eat pork, so there were obviously a number of dishes I couldn't eat, but they did have a number of options I could eat! The food was delicious and everyone was happy with her meal overall. It's definitely worth trying out if you're in the Ward area and are hungry...

Nice place, we went just before closing so it wasn't crowded. Had a few small dishes. Attentive staff, especially with only a few customers left. Brief hiccup at the beginning with the QR Code menu...our cart showed 20+ items and we owed over $200, but they quickly fixed that and we ordered and got our food. everything was hot (or a few cold dishes) and fresh, good food. Loved it!

Think of Din Tai Fung, this place is basically the dupe. Food tastes average to be honest.(except the Xiao long Bao) I tasted a lot of msg from the fried rice and if you aren't a fan of cucumbers I'd refrain from the beef pancake. It consisted of 10% beef and 90% cucumbers. However, the Xiao long Bao was the star of the show. The soup held well throughout each dumpling and not one of them popped! There was also a lot of soup filling which I was surprised and loved! I didn't get that much service during my time dining due to the ordering system is basically self service. You order through your phone by scanning a QR code on the table, which taking you to their menu and online ordering.

Like the variety of food choices here, though a sister restaurant to Mian- this place offers different menu items. It's been a year since I've been here, the menu has grown. They are known for their dumplings and Xiao long Bao. I enjoyed the golden soup wonton. The sticky rice could be tastier- I like Hong Kong style better to be honest. The chicken cutlet is standard. Excited to try the dessert- bingsu!

Came here on a rainy day to grab a quick lunch. The food is good. Bright clean space with lots of windows and natural lighting. Open kitchen adds to the atmosphere. The standout for me was the fried shrimp dumplings. The skin had that perfect golden crispy crunch without being greasy, and the shrimp inside was plump, juicy, and packed with flavor. You can really tell when shrimp is done right, and these hit that sweet spot. The pork shumai was also solid. Nice thin wrapper (always a good sign), and they didn't skimp on the filling. The pork was flavorful and well-seasoned, with a good balance of fat so it stayed moist without feeling heavy. The steamed beef rice was a miss for me. It had a noticeable odor that I couldn't quite get past. Also the rice had an off putting mushy texture and bites of beef were few and far in between. Excellent service throughout our meal. Parking garage adjacent to building but there are a few spots right in front including handicap parking. Happy Eating!! 32

I went here for dinner the other day and ordered their pork Xiaolongbao, cold spicy noodles, beef roll and pickled cucumbers. Their Xiaolongbao here is not bad but the highlight was their cold spicy noodle which was very favorable.

Xiao long Bao and fried shrimp was goood. We also had the spicy beef noodle ! Which was good. The meat was tender and broth was good

Side of beef. So good! Very tender and flavorful.

Saw some new items and knew we needed to try them out. Sweet and sour pork baby back ribs: 10/10. Meat was tender and sauce was amazing. We used the spare sauce for dipping beef pancake rolls in. Beef brisket and rice: You really can't go wrong ordering beef dishes here. Mian & Bao has been 100% consistently delivering tender and flavorful pieces of beef every time. When I saw they added pickled vegetables... this dish is comfort food in a bowl. Beef wonton in sour tomato broth: I really liked the sour broth at Mian, so as soon as I saw this, I was on it. It is so good. Sour, spicy, flavorful, delicate wontons filled with delicious beefy goodness. I was trying to count and lost count because I got distracted with the pork ribs. There are a lot in there and yes you should probably share but you might not want to. Service is always spot on. We enjoy ordering through the website and the dishes come flying out one by one. The ladies are very attentive, and kind. I can't wait to try the other dishes next time! :)

One of our favorite foods is dumplings and noodles so had to check out Miami & Bao on a recent visit to Ward. The restaurant was busy and smelled great. Friendly servers welcomed us and ordering via the app was fast and easy. We went for it and got six dishes. All were very good and tasty. The cucumbers, dumplings and noodles. And all reasonably priced too. This place reminded me of one of our favorite places to eat in Seattle which is Dough Zone. Go check em out then next time you're in the area.

Flavorful, authentic, delicious Chinese food. They seem to change the menu somewhat often, and they also have deals every so often, especially for Chinese holidays. Ordering is done on your phone and is pretty much seamless, and the staff are attentive and will happily answer any questions. The food comes out as soon as it's ready, so it's always hot. Tables are somewhat close, better for casual for lunch/dinner with friends rather than date night. Ample free parking nearby at Ward Center. My CHINESE girlfriend likes it too!

I have heard mixed reviews about this restaurant. So when I went to kids city at Ward center I wanted to give it a try. I know I should have tried xiao long bao but it was just me and my 2 year old so we chose noodles instead. I ordered chengdu dandan noodles and stir fry vegetables noodles. The dandan noodles was very simple but so delicious. I didn't feel anything when I took the first bite but after like 15 seconds then I started to feel the spices kicking in. I love the mala flavor. The stir fry vegetables noodles was a bit bland but my little one loved it and ate more than half a plate. Would live to come back next time to try the XLB and the pan fried pork bun!

On the way to whole foods noticed this spot my friend has eaten at their other location and said it was super good so we figured we'd give it a shot. Upon entering we were promptly seated and the hostess explained the ordering process which is pretty cool they have a QR code on every table and even though you're on separate phones you're all interconnected so you can see as a table what each person added to the order. The restaurant was very clean and bright nice open kitchen concept. We ordered 6 dishes Chili Oil Wonton- it comes with 6 dumplings and it was really delicious im not typically a pork person but ill make an exception for dumplings. The chili oil sauce was not over powered at all and doesn't blow out your palate like some other restaurants are capable of. Taro Crispy Roll- I think there was around 8 nice sized portion it was good took me back to little kid times grabbing pork hash at the manapua man. Chengdu spicy fries- Tasty Its a nice Sichuan mixture which the fries are coated in again it wasnt super spicy and I thought the fries did a good of cutting down the heat. Beef pancake roll- This thing was killer it was nice and crispy and overall a great bit came with 4 pieces. Chengdu Cold Noodles- nice big bowl man this thing was bomb the noodles were perfect the sauce coated them really well and I loved the way the cucumbers seamlessly blended with the noodles so you'd get a nice crunch with your noodles. Shrimp and Pork Xiao Long Bao- came with 6 soup dumplings and again another banger ive had some really good S.D.s and this was up there on my list I'd go again just for these. Soft and pillowy the soup was delicious. Overall im looking forward to coming back again the beef spicy pancake looked delicious on the table next to us so I for sure wanna try that. The price was super reasonable it was $56 for 6 dishes and it filled us up i was with 2 others so definitely a good value.

We ordered the pork xiao long bao, pan fried buns, beef pancake roll, and shredded pork and vegetable noodles. Everything was delicious and our favorites were definitely the XLB and buns. They had so much soup inside! The beef pancake roll was a little dry and could benefit from more sauce or maybe using pickled vegetables inside instead of cucumber. But overall, we enjoyed our meal and would come back. The ambiance is also really pretty and there's free parking.

We ordered pork hash, manapua, har gow, spring rolls, pickled cucumbers ($12.95) and a platter of char siu & duck. The dim sum was about $8/each, which I thought was very reasonable. My buddy really likes siao mai, and he said KSR has the best ones out of the places I have brought him to in HNL. On the other hand, the manapua was just okay: The ratio of meat to bao was low. I took char siu fr the platter and added it to the bao. We might have been better off skipping the baos and ordering a rice or noodle plate. The har gow and spring rolls were pretty good. The rolls arrived piping hot, and the har gow had a nice texture in the wrapper. Fourthly, the cucumber was fresh & crunchy, and had lots of garlic. I ate some with the char siu to cut thru the fat. Lastly, the char siu & duck platter was very good. They do a good job of putting some char on the bbq pork. The duck was tasty, but there were a couple of bony pieces. Regarding the ambiance, its big in here. Although they don't use carts, the aisles are wide. The servers were friendly & warm. I would def return for dim sum, but I also want to come for dinner. The food is very good, and the prices are reasonable.

Better late than never, but come too late and missed out on the good stuff?…read more Honolulu Seafood Restaurant is a sister restaurant to Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant. Located in Downtown in the same space where Yong Sing, Mandalay, and the short-lived Bourbon Street used to be. Inside feels and looks essentially the same as the prior restaurants. Huge, open, two levels. Would you believe there was once a time where the second floor was an option to sit because it was just that busy? Hours is basically 10am everyday till 3pm, then 5-930pm. Seems like the hours are geared towards Downtown workers. Where to park? 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, park in the Ali'i Place Parking garage. Entrance is right past the restaurant. Only 75 cents per half hour and restaurant validates one dollar. After 5pm on weekdays, and 8-1am on weekends, park at Bishop Square Parking. Entrance is across from the restaurant, entrance from the left lane of Alakea. Cost is $1.50 with validation. The regular menu is exactly the same as Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant. However, the dim sum is not the case. It's much, much less. There's only 16 total, and 7 more on weekends only. It's essentially the bare basics (but no beef ball!). All the dim sum looks exactly the same as Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant, but everything was on the bland side and just felt like it was missing something. Steamed Spareribs was one note and meat was not as tender. Beef Look Funn was good. The look funn had perfect thinness and texture. If have this dish, how come cannot have steamed beef balls? Chicken Feet was good. Soft, tasty, and meaty. But just ate and felt one note. Pan Fried Shrimp and Chives Dumplings was pretty good. Pan fried very well. Generous amount of filling. Just on the bland side. Chicken Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf was pretty good! Soft, moist mochi rice with a good amount of tasty filling. The Bean Curd Roll with Pork was probably the most flavorful dim sum of the meal. Jam-packed with tasty and flavorful filling. Overall, the dim sum was decent and almost similar to Kapiolani Seafood, but it was a touch on the bland side and a slight step below. Service was good. Friendly and attentive. Food came out pretty quick. Inside was cool, spacious, and comfortable. I want to come back on my lunch break! I don't mind dim sum'ing solo! Hopefully there'll be more dim sum choices. I remember seeing on social media they had some unique items only at this location. But I guess I'm too late! **I heard some news, maybe rumors, but the Kapiolani Seafood location might be forced to move due to that and the next lot being torn down for..... you guessed it, more condos! It might have an effect on the Honolulu location. We'll see.

Hawaii Dim Sum & Seafood Restaurant replaced Golden Palace Restaurant in Chinatown on March 2023…read more The restaurant is known for large portions of authentic and popular dim sum and seafood dishes. Owner Kun Hang Liang and wife Karen Tam immigrated to HI many years ago and have always dreamt of owning their own restaurant, which is now this restaurant. The restaurant's offerings are extensive. They include: * Dim sum: custard tart, mochi ball/puff, fried taro, dumplings, siu mai, chicken feet, spare ribs, pork buns, turnip cake, seafood bean curd, mochi rice, look fun, soups. * Chef's specials: lotus root stuffed w/ shrmp, bbq roasted pork rib, slow-simmered soup, braised oxtail, calamari, whole chickens/ducks. * Appetizer: jellyfish, spring roll, gau gee, fried shrimp ball. * BBQ roast: duck, char siu, chicken. * Soup: seafood, hot sour, chicken, beef, egg drop, won ton, pumpkin. * Sichuan: shrimp, beef, fish, chicken, pork, ma po tofu. * Seafood: lobster, crab, fish, shrimp, clams, calamari, scallops. * Salt & pepper: calamari, shrimp, pork chop, tofu, chicken wings. * Meat: beef, pork, chicken. * Sizzling casserole: lamb/beef stew, seafood w/ tofu, prawns & vermicelli, kau yuk. * Sizzling platter: beef tenderloin, oysters, stuffed eggplant. * Tofu/egg: steam egg custard/tofu, egg w/ bittermelon, egg fu yung. * Veggies: mushrooms w/ veggies, broccoli w/ dried flounder, green beans, ong choy, choy sum, spinach, lotus root. * Starch: fried rice, chow mein, noodles in soup, chow fun, rice noodles. With the extensive menu offerings, there are some items that outshine others, which are to be expected. We ordered the following: * Siu mai. Enjoyed the large siu mai, which the dense pork was mixed with mushrooms and water chestnuts (no shrimp). It was tasty and flavorful. * Jin dui. Loved the large thin-crusted coconut/peanut jin dui, just how my mom used to make them! Most restaurants don't "roll" them enough to get that thin crust, but here, they make it right! * Sticky rice in lotus leaf. Chunks of lup cheong and whole salted egg yolks with mochi rice make this a winner! * Char siu look fun. This is one of my favorite dishes; however, it was not prepared well. Generous chunks of hardened and seemingly old char siu filled the look fun, making it difficult to eat and with a lack of tender flavored char siu. Loved that the sweet sauce is served separately in a squeeze bottle so that you can use as much as you want. * Dong Po Pork. This Hangzhou dish is pork belly braised in soy sauce, Shaoxiang wine, and rock sugar until it's tender and melts in your mouth. The pork bell is tied with a string to hold its shape, and staff will use a scissors to remove it. This dish is savory, sweet and has a rich caramelization; served with broccoli to balance the richness of the sauce. Eaten with rice, I really enjoyed this dish! Well plated and executed! Portions are generous, but price point may be contentious, as some dishes appear to be over-priced, like the char siu look fun. We arrived mid-morning on a weekday, and it was not very crowded. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and bilingual, which made communication easy. Service was quick and efficient. No moving carts, as you're given a sheet of listed dim sum to check off the ones you want to order. The large interior is spacious and clean. Its banquet hall can hold a max of 30+ tables for a private party. There are also smaller private rooms. Extensive renovations were made after the previous restaurant closed. Hours of operation are Thurs to Tues 8a to 9p and Wed 8a to 3p. Regular entrees are not prepared until 10a when the cooks arrive for work. Private parking available in back of the restaurant, municipal parking lots are nearby, and metered street parking are available. Extensive delicious menu offerings, generous portions, and efficient and friendly customer service will likely result in return visits to try other items on the menu. We wish the Liangs continued success with their restaurant! Support local!

If you want steamed look fun, it'll cost you $10-11. Yikes! Our usual dim sum place is about $1-3 less. But to be fair, the size of the dimsum is huge. The chicken feet we had was sooo plump and the other dim sum looked like overstuffed balls. So okay, maybe the price is fair? Each plate came with 3. The food was tasty too except the chao zhou dumplings with peanut was salty for our taste. Service was okay-the place was hopping so the servers are too busy to check on your tea, order more food, etc. Go up and pay your bill.

Very busy, casual atmosphere like your typical Chinese place that turns over customers quickly…read more However, their wait staff are quite friendly and although busy, they work really hard to provide great service. The tables and benches are very basic and not cushioned, which makes for quick customer turnover. We hardly waited 2 minutes before they called us; even though there was a queue the entire time we were there it seems they go really quickly. Focus is on noodles (recommended) or rice dishes. We had beef chow fun (thick noodles) and a rice-noodle soup with pork and picked cabbage. Both dishes were very good. The chow fun was smoky, as if cooked on high heat, and the rice noodles were nicely spiced. The rice noodles came in a delicious broth. Parking is tough in Chinatown but there are several pay lots around. Be careful because the private pay lots can get expensive. There's also two municipal pay lots, each about 2 blocks away.

Their beef tendon on rice noodles or egg noodles or rice is excellent! Always tender and perfectly flavored! Got a beef and green beans over rice as a take out and that was great too! Went after the lunch rush as located in the heart of Chinatown and only street parking! Got parking near the restaurant and not too busy so got seated immediately- got water served and they took our order! These guys know how to run a restaurant!
