Business is located in my neighborhood. They have couple of tables and have a tv which shows You Tube video. Employee got some tapioca that he shared with his customers. My order was pho with meat which is good on a cold day and tapioca $5.00. They only accept cash for payment.,
Tried Nina after a friend's recommendation. Upon entering, we weren't greeted and were simply directed to our table. The service was minimal, but that's fairly typical for smaller, authentic Vietnamese restaurants. The space itself is quite small and was nearly full during lunchtime, so it can feel crowded. The food came out quickly. We ordered the summer rolls and the sliced beef pho. The summer rolls were smaller than expected but still good. The pho broth was flavorful and satisfying. While it's not a place I see myself returning to often, I'm glad I gave it a try and found another decent pho spot.
First off, everytime I've been here there are predominantly Vietnamese customers filling the seats. That must be a good sign. Broth is deep & rich, not oily. Good amount of meat. Lots of veggies. Fresh Thai chilis upon request. Great selection. Drinks are lacking. And delicious tapioca dessert comes with some orders. We love this place.
Excellent Vietnamese restaurant with great tasting pho. The broth was very flavorful. There was lots of meat (had the sliced beef and flank). The prices were reasonable and service was great. There is parking lot in the back of the restaurant. Will definitely come back again.
I really like the pho broth here. It's clean and comforting, and they cook the noodles perfectly, which I appreciate because I like mine on the firmer side. The satay here is great aswell. The only downside is the meat portion feels a little light, I wish there was more. That said, the restaurant is clean and the service is quick, so overall it's still a solid spot I'd come back to.
Solid little pho spot. The spring rolls were crispy, fresh and pretty tasty. That being said, $15 for spring rolls is a bit much--that's almost as much as a large pho. As for the pho, I really appreciated how much white and green onion they put in. The broth was more flavorful than your typical pho broth, and I think there is more meat in there too. Definitely a more hearty pho than most other places, and one of the best I've had on island. For being a hole-in-the-wall, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and neat, yet comfortable, the interior was. It was cash only when I went, so I ordered over the phone while I walked about a block away to the ATM at the 7-Eleven. There is metered street parking out front.
The two times I've been to Pho Nina for dinner was because of my Vietnamese friend, Hana. She's a very good cook and is particularly picky about where she goes for Vietnamese food. We had fried Basa (a farmed raised mild white fish). The portion was generous and the deep fried boneless Basa filet was crispy and piping hot. It was delicious with cucumber and fish sauce. Today, we ordered the Bún Riêu (Vietnamese Crab and Tomato Soup). The broth was light and tasty. Ong Choy was served with the Bún Riêu. The service was great considering it was only one server working and the dining room filled with customers. The dining room is barely decorated and unassuming. Came here for the food and not for the decoration so I was very pleased with my meal.
Soup is back! Noodles, service, broth, you name it, Nina's got your back. Never had an issue with parking in all the years I have patronized this restaurant. The restaurant itself might not be the cleanest or fanciest, but all of that fades away once you have a bowl of pho in front of you.
The one of the best hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant that we've stumbled upon! Service is immaculate & the owner really takes care of his guests. Nothing can compare to a comforting bowl of pho & all the aromatic flavors that occur with each bite is truly unmatched! Honestly, so many great things to say about this business & their food. Nước chấm was super flavorful and you could tell it's homemade. Even if it's blazing outside, I'll surely go back to this place! Solid 10/10! Show the owner some love! Offered to hold our baby so we could eat (wish we took him up on his offer, the food had no match on my appetite!!). We will be back more often!
Clean establishment, food was great and service was friendly. He even shared some fruit with us after our meal! If you like flat egg noodles.. they have it! Spring rolls were great as well.
This was one of the best bowls of pho I have had! The broth was so flavorful, the noodles were perfectly chewy, and the soup was served nice and HOT. It was served with a huge plate of bean sprouts, lemons, and herbs. My husband got the shrimp fried rice and really enjoyed it. We started with the spring rolls and those were also great- very crispy and hot. Also the owner was so nice and we had great service! It's a cash only spot so make sure you have some. I'd absolutely recommend this spot to anyone!
Parking is available in the back of the restaurant. Portion size is okay, I've seen bigger portions for the same price in other parts of town. Plus side - they give you LOTS of veggies! Broth is RICH in flavor, and on the fattier side. We personally really enjoyed it. I would definitely come back and try other things on their menu!

Typical authentic owned spot, viet olders working front and kitchen a seat yourself order pay and leave spot; a breath of fresh air if you've been doing nothing but running in the congested streets of waikiki. Bun rieu: 4.5/5 only bun rieu i've had that includes whole shrimp in it, they don't cheap out on the meatballs, tofu, pork blood etc. My only issue is I would've added more fish sauce/ shrimp paste so it's a stronger seafood taste like the ones i'm used to back in california Pho: My partner gave it a 4/5 good broth good meat portion only complaint was the large was pretty small other then that very good read more

The food itself was decent, but unfortunately the service and billing experience really overshadowed the meal. I ordered pho, and the broth was good with a nice amount of herbs and onions. The noodles were pretty standard, and overall it was enjoyable, although not the best pho I've had. My biggest issue was the bill. I was charged more than the price listed on the menu, and I was also charged for a dessert that was simply left on our table even though I never ordered it or ate it. When I brought the discrepancies to their attention, I only received a partial adjustment rather than the full difference. I left feeling like I was being hustled rather than taken care of as a customer. I don't mind paying for what I order, but pricing should match the menu and customers shouldn't be charged for food they never requested. Unfortunately, that experience would make me hesitant to return despite the food being decent. read more
Dinner pho real... Nothing beats some pho...well it's mom's favorite as the broth is so aromatic and soothing I thought that Pho Nina would be perfect on a late Sunday night one street parking is easy to find and is free though they do have some parking in the back it was easier to just grab the street parking. You can find them on S King Street across from the Honey Ham Shop or just before Prince Jonah Kushiro Elementary School and inside is quite spacious with three four top tables and four six top tables which can be separated if needed but you can smell the yumminess as soon as you walk in. Mom got the Tofu Veggie Pho medium as I was just having conversation of what size she wants and the gentleman says her medium is enough too much for her but you can have the large...that already had me feeling meh. I got the bbq pork vermicelli with spring rolls since I wanted to try something different from hers but the price is fair and was looking forward to it since it's been awhile. She loved her broth not oily and it was nice and light filled with lots of veggies as for me the raw veggies was hard to eat along with mint mixed in was a challenge on my personal liking but not having water as I tried to pick it out of my teeth wasn't pleasant and the sauce I enjoyed but might be a bit spicy for some so I couldn't offer to mom sadly. The service didn't impress me at all he kept interrupting our conversation for his two cents but as we placed our order the look of disappointment when we declined appetizers wasn't necessary along with asking us if we wanted water or something to drink as we wasn't served water at all throughout the service. He later tried asking us if we wanted dessert the last tapioca which we declined and his mood shifted even more just made me want to leave and it's cash only no card payment. read more

I really like the pho broth here. It's clean and comforting, and they cook the noodles perfectly, which I appreciate because I like mine on the firmer side. The satay here is great aswell. Wanted to have lunch at Hana no sato but they were closed. On a side note a friend told me Hana no sato has had limited hours but should be back in full swing at the end of the month. We done down a bit and decided to have pho at Pho Nina. The good thing is they have parking in the back of the building. Definitely a plus I could tell when we got in that the pho was authentic based on the aroma of the restaurant. The inside was a little older but nothing to run down. I ordered my go to chicken pho. Of course had to sample the broth first. The soup was definitely on point. The chicken was a little dry but it was white meat so that was to be expected. I was a bit disappointed in the noodles as they were a bit chewy than I like them (thus the 4 star rating) Probably went go again but that shouldn't stop you from trying. Bac Nam is my "gold standard" I ordered my go to chicken pho. read more
Lunch with mom in Honolulu, Hawaii... It's been challenging... I'm trying to get mom to eat... She'll claim that she's tired, not hungry, too busy, or some other excuse... Today, it was "chilly" (68°F), overcast, and rainy. After some shopping, I asked mom if she wanted to eat pho... To my surprise, she agreed! I've had Pho Nina on my list of places to visit for a while. I forgot how I found out about this old school restaurant. I didn't know that there's a free small parking lot behind the building. I parked for 50 cents an hour right in front of the restaurant (in a metered stall) - so that mom didn't have to walk "far". Inside, the service was efficient and relatively friendly. The server's name was T... he introduced himself to the table next to ours. He told us that today was a good day for hot pho... He ended up being the cashier, too. There was another cheerful worker who brought our bowls of hot soup to us. T complimented him - he must be a new worker - and said he was a smart guy! That's nice! Mom ordered pho with tripe - the tripe came on the side in a small bowl. Mom said that there were only 2 long slices of tripe and lots of beef, but the pieces were "tough" and hard to chew. The fresh veggies that came with her meal were: culantro, basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, and a wedge of lemon. The portions were generous! I ordered the Crab Noodles with steamed oong choi. Wow... it was deliciously excellent! At first, the red coloring on the top of the soup worried me, but it wasn't spicy! The noodles were chewy, and the broth had crab flavor! I put the oong choi in the soup to flavor it! Yum! Overall, it was a great experience! The big screen television was amusing... the male customers were all facing the same way because they were watching the news together, but sat apart... haha! read more
Best pho broth and noodles in town. They don't skimp on the fresh herbs/veggies and their service is pretty quick. The restaurant may not look very contemporary and is a bit outdated but that's a mom-n-pop shop for ya. Their lemongrass pork chops are also on point and you get it either as a rice plate or with your vermicelli salad noodle bowl. Storefront/street-side parking can be a bit of a hassle depending on the time of day but always nice to have the back of store lot as a safety net. read more

I was introduced to Pho Nina by my friend who would always come here. Located on S. King St., it's definitely a hole in the wall but those are usually the best places!! I let my friend do the ordering since she always comes here. We shared a large photo with beef balls and sliced beef, spring rolls and shrimp fried rice. The pho broth had lots of flavor and their noodle is different from other pho places. I also love that their broth comes piping hot. The spring rolls and shrimp fried rice were simple but so good. It's a no frills pho place but food is legit! The owner is also super chill here. Parking is located in the back and surprisingly they have a good amount of parking or you can also park on the street. Pricing is super reasonable considering how expensive pho is at other places now. This is my new fav go to Vietnamese spot! read more

Pho Nina is my go-to Vietnamese restaurant for 3 reasons. Flavors are always consistent and well-balanced. It's not too heavy and not too light. The bowl sizes are generous, and they're portions generous. Because I'm able to eat more than a normal serving, I like that they have an XL bowl for people like me. The restaurant is small with 10 or so tables. If it's full, usually a 10 minute wait or sooner before a table opens up. Restroom is located in the back by their kitchen. One of my family's go-to's for pho, Pho Nina never lets us down. We've been coming here pretty much since I can remember because it's close to our house and the food is so amazing and authentic. We always get the combination pho, but recently we ventured out of our normal order and we loved everything. The Finger Shrimp and Spring Rolls are perfectly fried and those spring rolls were probably some of the best i've had in a while, and they're a hefty size. I'm not a huge fan of Bun Bo Hue but my sister absolutely loved it and demolished the huge bowl. The banh mi came with a good amount of toppings and the bread had a nice crunch to it which, in my opinion is one of the most important parts of a banh mi. read more
Stop by after 8pm for quick pho fix. Ordered the special combination and within minutes it was served piping hot with a big dish of fresh vegetables. I always order this because it has a nice variety of different cuts of meats. The bowl looked delicious and aroma was irresistible. I took a sip and was blown away. I put on my AirPod pros, cranked up my tunes and prepared to enjoy my meal. Mixed in some basil, saw tooth leaf, bean sprouts and jalapeno's took one big bite and I was in pho heaven. I went right when they opened at 9am. Received service from the owner. The pho took about 10 minutes to come out. The broth was a bit darker than usual, but it still had a good flavor. Nothing beats good broth in the morning for me! Parking behind was crowded, so I had to park on the street in the front. read more

Not a bad place to be at if you're looking for Pho in the area. There's quite a few pho establishments around University but Pho Nina hits the spot. They have a small menu with their most popular item being Pho. Their vermicelli noodles are well-cooked and perfectly chewy. The broth is also pretty good with a nice beefy flavor. While it's not my absolute favorite pho on Oahu, it's a decent pick for the area. ALSO look at all that green onion!!! My friends and I have since become a regular whenever we're out studying late into the night. read more

BEST spring roll sauce!! It is salty, sweet, and full of fresh minced garlic and chili which makes a huge difference. Anything that sauce goes on is amazing (so long as you don't mind a little spice.) The bbq pork and spring roll vermicelli is ADDICTING! It's a small hole-in-the-wall type shop, I think there's a couple of parking stalls behind the restaurant and metered parking up front but it's not much. The uncle who runs the store is also super nice. Dining area is nothing special but it's clean and well-maintained. The pho has a good flavor, one of the better broths I've had but still not my #1. We come mostly for the vermicellis and lemon beef salad, but most of the other dishes are pretty good. The shrimp fried rice was a surprise too, straightforward but super good! I do think that portions are on the leaner side. For two people, we generally order at least 3 items to feel satisfied, and it comes out to roughly $60. Not a terrible price, and the food is really good, but there are better deals out there for sure. read more
