Tomo is the best! Always genki and making such delicious food. You can feel the love and care put into the dishes! Friendly service and cute cozy cafe. One of our go-to places here

I got the tofu katsu curry and they gave me extra potato katsu for free since I paid more than $10. The potato katsu tasted like beer, so I wasn't a fan. The rest of my meal was fine, but the katsu wasn't fried enough so it wasn't crispy and everything else was okay. I expected better, especially with such a long walk commute each way. They also use AI artwork for specials (especially sweets), and don't seem to be familiar with allergens. The sweets they do have are frozen, and a lady at the table next to me tried to eat them but they were too frozen to eat. I don't think I'll come back.

I came here on a Saturday night. It wasn't too busy. I was able to order my food and find a seat with no issues. Food: I ordered the katsu plate with half tofu katsu and half tempeh katsu. I had not been here before so I wanted to try both. The portion was pretty good. Both katsus were delicious. I don't think I had a preference over either of them! The breading was also pretty good. The katsu sauce was delicious. Service: Service was quick and easy. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. Food didn't take too long to arrive. TL;DR - I will definitely be back when I'm in the area!

Peace Café has come a long way and stayed true to their mission. The manager, Miho, strives to provide great quality ingredients, no GMO, no MSG, and always 100% vegan/plantbase products to serve to their customers. The each dish has great flavor and an innovative way to make plantbase great tasting. My favorite and my recommendation is the tempah katsu curry! Bold, flavorful, and creative. This delicious dish is my top choice on their menu. If people are looking for more of a gut healthy dish, I was recommended Moroccan Stew. Simple and delicious! The interior has a fun and welcome vibe to enjoy the food, the atmosphere, and your day. You'll truly be at peace. Friendly staff and plenty of street parking. Peace Café you've earned your final star! Thank you for your hard work to providing GREAT meals for the community to enjoy!!

The food was so fresh! We left feeling nourished and full. Portions are great size. The sesame latte is very unique and worth a try. Coffee lovers add espresso. The service was friendly and fast. I love the vibe of the place. Very wholesome. I felt like I was at a friend's place.

Fresh veggies with yummy flavors and decent portions. THEY DONT USE MSG OR SUGAR (just maple or agave). Not many places prioritize health AND taste nowadays, but they pull it off. Their tempeh katsu is better than the tofu katsu because it's not as bready as the tofu katsu. I love how colorful their plates are with such a variety of sides.

Drove by million times so wanted to give it a try. Small quaint place with 4 tables, very charming. We were greeted by a very friendly person whom explained the menu and took our order. Within minutes our food arrived. I was delighted and surprised to see the vibrant colors on my plate. Katsu was Hot, crispy and the sauce was amazing. Vegetables were very fresh and crisp. My guest liked the poke too! Very healthy and tasty vegan meal. Will be back to try other items in the menu.

    Avo-Veggie Sandwich & Katsu Curry

We had this vegan cafe bookmarked and were finally able to stop by today for lunch. Got their famous Katsu curry plate and an Avo-veggie sandwich both of which were great. The portions are also huuugeee and totally reflect their prices. Although we did want to try some desserts, we were stuffed from just the two entrees and had to skip it. Maybe we'll be back before our trip ends just for that ;) I also have to mention that all ingredients tasted fresh and delicious.. I'd totally recommend this place to all vegetarians/vegans to try out.

I always feel so nourished and light after eating here! Went in a group and everything was quite tasty, but I was particularly enamored with their very crispy tofu katsu served with Japanese style curry- so good! The bibimbap style bowl was solid but felt less spectacular than the other options. They also have yummy smoothies and some desserts as well, like raw vegan cheesecake :)

Finding peace... Love this cute and cozy spot right in Moili'ili as this vegan restaurants supports many specific types and having allergies myself knowing that is comforting and who doesn't want to have a meal without worries. Nothing is healthier than home cooked but when you're tired and just want to be take care of this place does offer many options from vegan, gluten free, soy free and even some sugar free desserts. Located right on South King Street right beside the Old Stadium Park they do have some parking shared with neighbor Chiang Mai though I was lucky enough to find street metered parking right in front. Waling into this cozy spot which is very small yet does provide a decent amount of seating from a large picnic table with a few smaller tables the decor with painted tree is very earthy green is quite crafty and cute which I do love making it unique in it's own way just like their menu items which has a lot going on with pics at the register of inure, mapo katsu. The single staff handling it all was very sweet and helpful as I was indecisive between Yakisoba and Noodle Salad and was told that those were favorite as well...hmmm so it was the salad because I love the various toppings it came with and it sure does! All packed tightly on top of the noodles which is thick and chewy cooked and cooled perfectly I loved it all the hijiki, carrots, red cabbage, moyashi, slice of tomato gave it the rainbow effect. You're able to order your sauce mild or spicy and spicy was just the right amount of heat that I love and ate it all up as my belly had found some peace. Thank you!

I saw my boss eating something from Peace Cafe at work one day and it looked super good so I had to go try! Honestly, I was very impressed. ***What I ordered ~ **Katsu Curry Tempeh (10/10) ~ This one is a MUST. Loved how crispy the tempeh was and if you dip it with the curry it gave it a nice spice! The rice they provided was this purple rice and it was nice and fluffy! Honestly, this comes pretty close to a Katsu Curry. I would totally get this again. **Moroccan Stew (8/10) ~ The stew kind of reminds me of a sweeter beef stew! Loved that the chick peas absorbs the stew flavor so every bite you get tastes like the stew. I wish I ordered a side of something with it! It's missing a "meat" component to it. But honestly really good! Overall, I would TOTALLY come back again. I really want to try their other dishes. But so far, totally in love with the tempeh Katsu Curry!

This is a fabulous place that we visit time and again. Today we had the Heart & Seoul (Korean BiBimBop) plate with their freshly, homemade tofu. The plate is colorful with lots of vegetables and spiced just right. The staff are amazing, professional and friendly.

    Anything gluten free?

Yes, they have many gluten-free items.

Do the mochi brownie need to be refrigerated?

The longest I've let that go uneaten is 24 hours. It was fine till then. Past that I couldn't tell you. Good luck!

    Is the Katsu gluten-free?

Peace Cafe is offering "take out only" at this current time. I'm just greatly thankful that they're still in business and have not succumbed to the ongoing pandemic by closing their doors and going out of business.

    Are they on BiteSquad?

    Not anymore :(

Three of us got the Iron Man Sandwich (only one of three got "spicy" and it was apparently not super spicy, so spice wimps like me could probably handle it), and my mother got the cheeseburger. The three of us with the Iron Man liked ours, but my Mom wasn't impressed with her burger. My husband also got a banana and peanut butter smoothie (the "nutty banana"), and my parents got the Nutella chocolate milks, and everyone was pretty happy with their drinks! The location itself is pretty cute and small, and appears to be operated solo by the lady we assumed to be the owner and eponymous "Blondie." She was really friendly and helpful while we were trying to decide what we all wanted (we can be a slightly indecisive bunch). I thought the wall of little index cards illustrated by various patrons showing where they were from was a really nice touch! We chose to sit indoors, since outdoor tables that would take four were occupied, but it might be noisy out there with the proximity to the main road. Inside the music can be a little loud, too, but the lady behind the counter turned it down some for us, which was kind of her to offer. Overall a decent little vegan sandwich shop with a great smoothie and drink selection! I think if my husband and I are about town on our own on our next visit to the islands, we might stop by again, but my parents will probably opt for other things given that my mother never gets beyond a first impression. Definitely worth trying if you're looking for a nice vegan meal and beverages!

What did I enjoy...well thanks to Nadine and some gift certificate she had it was a generous morning of fresh pineapple juice with breakfast sandwich on English muffin all vegan and plant based was just so light and refreshing which is a great way to start my day. The service is always so friendly at this family owned and run biz as they still keep to their amazing menu and vibe that they have here is just so nice and relaxing place. Thank you!

The fish was perfectly crispy with fresh slaw and really creamy sauces. The tortillas for the tacos tasted very fresh too, which made them even better. The mai tai was unusual but palatable. The food was amazing! Still thinking about that Da Bao (Soy musubi patties, steamed buns, pickled carrots, daikon, jalapeños, cucumbers, cilantro, scallions, plum wine sauce) and how I'd like to eat it every day. The specialty rolls were works of art that were equally beautiful and had exquisite taste and texture. Manila Dune (Tempura pumpkin, spiced burdock, shredded tofu, avocado crema, chili, renkon chips) was dense but flavorful. Barbers (Smoked beets, spinach, avocado, soy strip, asparagus, rice crackers, seaweed pearls, spicy aioli, suspense) was intriguing as a little game of sushi roulette (hence the final ingredient). Whoever gets the spicy piece also gets the accompanying shot of sake. I was grateful my husband ended up getting that one because it was hot for him which means it would have been very hot for me. My only complaint with either of these specialty rolls is that each piece was quite large and therefor difficult to eat. I had to do the unconscionable thing and nibble away at it to comfortably eat it without it feeling like a choking hazard. Futo maki roll (Age tofu, spinach, shiitake, kanpyo, inari, pickled radish) was no less delicious for its simplicity. Quality was excellent, and everything on the menu sounded like something we wanted to try. We were so impressed by our meal we almost returned the following (our last) night. Lucky for us they have a restaurant in LA which I intend to visit next time I'm in town which is far more frequently than I'm in Honolulu. But would I consider flying to Oahu again for Tane Izakaya? Yes, yes I would.

We tried the kouign amann with the toppings she mentioned as vegan (the butter one is not), and they were pretty good, especially with the cinnamon topping! The young lady at the counter was very helpful and patiently pointed out which things were vegan to us, which I really appreciate. The kouign amann seems like a popular item as we bought the last of them (we had wanted four, but there were only three) and it was still early afternoon. There is a parking garage nearby that allowed for long enough free parking for us to go order and grab our goodies to go. The location itself doesn't have a lot of seating space, so it seems best set up for takeout, but it is a pleasantly bright space and the outdoor seating seems like it would be nice as they're not on a main throughfare. It's far from where my family lives on the island that we stay with when we're visiting, but next time we're near Ala Moana around lunchtime, we'll definitely stop by for some vegan goodies!

There's a great outdoor patio area with additional seating. They don't have their menus marked vegan, just plant based, trying not to scare off traditional eaters (who also enjoy this food).

I'm not a vegan or vegetarian and you don't have to be to enjoy this place. I ate here recently for…read morethe first time with some friends who highly endorsed this restaurant. It's in a pretty random area along kamakee street. Easily walkable from South Shore Marketplace if you can't find closer parking. It is decorated very cutely with string lights and fairy lights on the tree which surround their outdoor seating area. They also have indoor seating if you prefer. The brick pizza oven is outside. The caesar salad was great, a little heavy on the dressing but definitely tastes like a normal good caesar salad even though it's vegan! The white pizza with the ricotta was amazing and pro tip would be to add the mushrooms. It was my favorite of the 2 pizzas we ordered. We also tried the Brooklyn which has vegan meatball, tomato sauce, basil and again, the ricotta. Yum! The vegan meat easily disguises itself as real sausage. The ricotta is so good on my walk back to the parking I heavily considered researching if it's possible to buy a similar vegan ricotta just from the store. The crust is also top notch which strongly contributes to the quality of the pizza. Pricing is reasonable and service was great. Overall it's a place with a very chill vibe to enjoy good pizza- whether or not you're vegan.
