It's crazy that vegan Vietnamese food can actually taste pretty good??? There are certain dishes that are hard to make vegan because it relies on that umami-ness that often comes from animal-based sources but I have to say that their Bun Bo Hue is something I would order again and again. As much as I love my pig's blood and meat, I don't find myself missing it too much when I have a bowl of their BBH. I also really love their wontons too; they get it SUPER crispy! I also don't mind their Banh Mi as well. The owner strictly only speaks Vietnamese but does her best to make you feel welcome!

I over ordered and would 100% do it again. I love this place and wish there is something similar in Seattle. I got the bun rieu, bun thit nuong cha gio, cơm gà Hải nam. All were excellent!! Service was superb. Very friendly and they let me order even when they were almost closed (so sorry if you're reading this, I didn't realize the time). The inside was clean and small, very quaint. They make their own snacks near the register! Try some! Oh and the sugarcane juice was heavenly too.

Lunch in Chinatown, Honolulu, Hawaii... Vegan Vietnamese Cuisine? I had to try it! Knowing that metered street parking is free on Sundays, I finally had an available Sunday to go to Thuong An Lac. I asked my sister and mom if they wanted to check it out, too... They agreed! Located on the corner of King Street and Kekaulike Street, and across from Oahu Market, Thuong An Lac is a cozy, old school establishment with friendly service! The server was very welcoming to my mom! My mom and sister ordered the pho (there's only one type). It came with lots of fresh Veggie condiments. Many other bottles of hoy sin sauce, Sriracha, etc. were on the table, but they really didn't need any. My sister said that some of the textures of the "fake meats" were odd. She let me try some... ummm... maybe one was supposed to be like tendon??? I got the vermicelli with spring rolls and vegan BBQ pork. I liked the vegan pork because there was a nice outer crisp. The spring rolls had some taro in it. Overall, it was great! I'd return again and try Donna O.'s favorite dish!

We are vegetarian and visiting Hawaii. So finding this vegan place was amazing. They are in the top 100 vegan restaurants in the US. We ordered the spring rolls, noodles and a tomato noodle soup. We loved the noodles. It had a lot of fresh vegetables. The soup was good too although it had too much noodles. We also tried the sugarcane juice which was fresh. Will recommend.

This was maybe the BEST vegan Vietnamese restaurant I have ever been to. Absolutely blown away with the freshness, flavors, and service. Firstly, it feels like you are entering Aunty's home for a meal. It is a small but welcoming space. We saw locals enjoying big bowls of pho and bo bun hue on a dreary rainy winter day. We ordered the pork bun (soft, great filling), vermicelli bowl with bbq pork (omg the best thing we ate on our trip to Hawaii), and the Hainanese chik'n (simple but delicious fried mock meat and I couldn't stop eating the rice). Make it a point to visit this excellent spot, you won't regret it!

Wow! this is our third visit, and I didn't know that the experience could get even better. Marianne and Tin the servers were so kind and funny, and the food knocked it out of the park again! Would recommend for anyone whether they are vegan or not, and I would say this isn't my top five favorite restaurants I've ever been to, and that is coming from being a foodie from Portland, Oregon.

Located in Chinatown, I stopped by for a late afternoon lunch. It was a Sunday afternoon and I was seated immediately and served complimentary pandan tea. This place is totally vegan despite dishes that are labeled otherwise. I had the phõ and it was flavorful. It was loaded with tons of items that I assume would replicate meat. A couple of items I couldn't eat because it did feel like it was the texture of meat products (gelatinous) in the items. The business seems to have repeat customers so service was a little slower towards me. But I was in no rush so didn't mind and was apologized to. No biggie as everyone was celebrating Chinese New Year. The restaurant itself is small and quaint with eclectic decorations but I will definitely return.

This place is nestled in Chinatown and has amazing Vietnamese vegan food! The lady that works there speaks little English so my parents were helping her talk on the phone to translate. It was so funny, you can tell it's a family owned mom and pop shop. But that's when you know the food is gonna be bomb!! There are pictures on the menu to help you choose from, but here are some of my recommendations below: We ordered the com tam dac biet(rice combo plate) and everything on that plate tasted like the real thing! They made it so similar, I was like how is this vegan? So flavorful and yummy. The pho was also a hit! They use diff types of vegan protein so you get "beef" pieces and "meatball" pieces too. Normally when I get vegan pho from other places it's bland. But this place did such a great job with the broth! We also ordered the curry and beef stew with bread. It tasted like our childhood meals except everything was vegan. Highly recommend this place for vegan and non vegans to try out.

    Veggie rolls and mushroom bun.

All amazing food are vegan with big portions here. We love it and definitely will come back next time.

This Vietnamese vegetarian place is really good!! I came here with the bf, dad, and mom's friends who were visiting from Thailand. They were all vegetarian and more on the strict side of no garlic or onions. This place was very accommodating with that request. The inside has about 5-6 small tables so if you have a party of 4 they can definitely fit you there. Very cozy I would say lol but I forgot to take other pictures and only took my own bowl of noodles!! Since I don't eat beef this was the closest I would get to trying a bun bo hue but vegetarian version. Also if you try this place you must try the summer rolls!! It is so good!!! I would definitely recommend this place to others who are vegetarian and would like some tasty Vietnamese food. It is located in Chinatown and would suggest parking in that public parking lot near the police station or if you lucky, street parking. My dad is not a vegetarian and he likes the food here!! That definitely says how tasty her food is! Also it's like one aunty that cooks and she has maybe one more person helping. So if you haven't tried, definitely recommend to go!!

Visiting the island for a month and this has to be my favorite restaurant that I've visited! Let alone probably one of my favorite vegan spot ever. I've gone back 3-4 times and going back one more before I leave. You can tell this place is loved by the locals. I'm from California so we have a plethora of vegan viet establishments but this has to be one of the top ones for me. I got the bun bo hue, hu tieu kho (dry noodles), eggrolls, & hainan chicken rice plate here and my god the flavor!! Plus they give you a side of chilis WHICH I LOVE! I have never been to a restaurant that give it to u without asking. I knew i was in love as soon as the waiter dropped it off. They also have lemongrass oil that you can put in your soup for more flavor and i'm obsessed with it they need to start jarring it up and selling it! ALSO, i haven't had viet coffee since i went vegan over 5 years ago and they have one with coconut condensed milk and it was as good as i remembered it Service is quick, nice, and warm overall. Felt like I was eating at my family's house. They're very attentive when your water is low and are quick to refill. 10/10 recommend even if you're not vegan :,) cheers!

What is the hainan chicken made from?

I don't know for sure, but it seems to be more of a tofu like texture than a seitan texture. It's incredibly realistic and delicious though! It almost seems like tofu skin pressed together to make the meaty texture. It's really good!

Plenty of tables. Clean restrooms for paying customers. The food and drink are made with utmost care. The produce is always fresh and clean. The pho broth is unmatched. Not too sweet, lovely and aromatic. Portions are generous for the price point. Vietnamese coffee is a must! Strong and sweet--yum! The spring rolls even taste "healthy" here in that they're not too oily, and made with fresh ingredients. The customer service is always on-point, whether eating in or taking out. Note: They do not offer XL size for takeout. I think it's sweet they don't advertise otherwise, since they don't have the proper containers for that amount of food. The service here is quick and efficient. And even though they can get really busy at times, they're still cranking out the food and beverages in a timely manner. As for the food, it's definitely comforting and delicious. The different pho broths (chicken, beef, etc) are all just right, not too oily, not too salty. I didn't even have to add in any condiments to enhance the flavor. The Banh Xeo is a huge portion, that can be shared amongst a party of 2-4. Street parking is located right out front, there's also a parking structure out back, with an entrance into the establishment directly from the parking structure. I will definitely be coming back here for more!

I heard they will keep this space for special events. The restaurant is quite busy and I'm glad we had reservations. Good thing I was there prior to lunch hour opening, otherwise we may lose our reservations since the person who made reservations tends to be habitual in arriving late. We dined in May, but it's been awhile since I first dined here. I preferred dining in Chinatown during lunch time than at dinner. Our waiter was really nice and helpful. I forgot his name, but I remembered that his eyeglasses that he wore was cool/funny, since the frames for each eye didn't match the other eye! lol. Funny it wasn't me who first noticed it. One was square frame and the other was a round frame! The restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays except may write Happy Birthday in chocolate on the dessert plate that you purchase for the birthday person. Their desserts are unique and refreshing. I think there are some rotating desserts /flavors like their seasonal menu for their main menu. I guess you can always keep coming back without being bored of the menu! I was bummed to see a previous dish posted of a pasta that I wanted to try that wasn't on the current spring seasonal menu! When we dined for brunch over the weekend, I was able to get the Hainan chicken with the crispy roast pork combo. It was very filling , tasty and satisfying. I do love ginger sauce on the cold ginger chicken but sometimes the chicken is just okay. This Hainan chicken was really good and the chicken was really moist! I thought it was the best I've tried! It was good that I wanted to takeout one last time in August before they moved! No more the 50/50 combo with the crispy roast pork on the lunch menu during the weekday. It was on the spring menu. Of course it's best to eat it in the restaurant than for take out. Bathroom is a must for me when dining out and they had only one shared bathroom for everyone! There was a guy who tried to make several attempts but wasn't successful, since there was always someone in the restroom. I'm glad the waiter told me there was a bigger separate bathroom with several stalls for men and ladies upstairs. You go straight through the kitchen to catch the elevator and to another kitchen /storage area! Thank Goodness! Best wishes at your new location. You offer yummy and tasty food!

I can vouch for the spring rolls, light and crunchy without being oily. I don't eat land animals but my friend said the wings were divine. And they give you gloves to eat them. So civilized (ha) and a nice touch! She loved the bone marrow and steak. There was so much food she didn't finish it so I took it home to the hubby who devoured it. No complaints and only smiles from him! I wanted to try a couple pescatarian dishes from the regular menu so ordered the lemongrass clams which was AH-mazing! Could have been my favorite dish of the night because the flavors were unexpected but undeniably good. And, the garlic salmon bun (vermicelli noodles) was fantastic. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce was savory yet light. I've never seen this option at any other Vietnamese restaurant and it certainly elevates the traditional dish which usually comes with meat, tofu, or spring rolls. (You can still order the bun with these options and they let you choose your protein combos.) Finally, (I told you there was a lot of food) we ordered the banana blossom salad. I rarely see this offering at other Vietnamese restaurants. It's hard to describe but I refer to this dish as the red-carpet version of the green papaya salad. It's more dressed up and sophisticated. A real treat and a must-have if you're dining at An Di Dzo. Parking was easy since it's at Ward (by the theaters or you can park anywhere in the village). The restaurant is clean and modern. And the service was courteous and professional. Our server Alex was great and made the evening extra special. An Di Dzo is open for lunch and dinner. They also offer some vegan options so I'll be back. Hubby enjoyed the leftovers so much he wants to give it a dine-in try. You don't have to ask me twice! Highly recommend you give them a try, too.

They have very trendy seating styles. We were seated in a wooden booth. The booth chairs were so far away from the table, there was no way you'd be able to eat without sitting on the edge of the bench haha. But very spacious for 4 people! The waitress was prompt with bringing our water, taking our order and bringing our food out. They have a little lazy-Susan style sauce/condiment platter on each table which was nice for the pho. The food was actually very tasty! I enjoyed everything I ate. Which kind of shocked me, being that town is more of a touristy area and I wasn't expecting to get decent pho! Since they're located in the same building as ward theaters, there's an entire parking structure for you to park in, for free! So don't worry about parking. If you're in the area, I'd suggest trying this place out!

In this crazy rainy weather, we wanted something warm and hearty. We got here at 5 pm on a Thursday and got a table. We ordered rare beef pho, chicken pho, and their crispy noodle dish with chicken. My beef pho had a nice strong spice taste. I added hoisin and sriracha to my broth for a nice addition. The crispy noodle dish reminded me of cake noodles the way the chicken and vegetables were in a thick gravy. Service was easy and quick. They got our orders in quickly, brought the food out quickly, and got us on our way without being overly pushy. Parking is easy, plentiful, and convenient in Manoa Marketplace. Pho viet is located on the second floor and there are stairs as well as an elevator to get up. I like eating here when I don't want to go downtown and deal with lots of people. It's a quiet area and a big open inside space. There were tvs without sound if you wanted to watch something.

There is a homey feeling to the space which lends itself to a casual vibe. Food and service were both great! We shared a Shrimp Salad to start. A large portion with a generous amount of shrimp and a nice kick of chiles. I had the Chicken lettuce wraps and my dining partner in crime enjoyed the Tofu and Veggie Pho. Both were fantastic. If I had one small criticism would be that the food was a little too sweet. Nothing that would stop us from returning, though. Fast and tasty... making this a great option.
