First time here and loved the meal we had. We started with spring rolls and the spicy sauce was to die for. I ordered yellow curry with chicken and we had pad Thai which is very a top selection. We also had this with chicken. The service was very quick and the restaurant had several larger parties. The ambiance does have beautiful pieces of artwork from Thailand. Support this family business. You won't be disappointed!

Ate here with my family the other day, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Our waiters were Trey and Jasmine - they were so helpful and patient with us as we asked questions about the menu. We also came in on the later side and they kindly seated us with no fuss. We shared the shrimp rolls, muay thai pork chops, fried rice, hometown curry, pad thai, thai basil dish, crab ragoons, and beef salad. AND had the mango sticky rice, tapioca, & banana lumpia w ice cream for dessert. ** My personal FAVORITES were the shrimp rolls, thai basil dish (add an egg on top!!), pork chops, and all the desserts. The restaurant is family owned, the food comes out quick and hot, and the flavors & spice are all there. What more could you ask for really. p.s. - clean bathrooms which I notice & appreciate.

This place was good! I ordered the "American mild" (much less spice than the "Thai mild") and it was still spicy to me I like very mild spice and this was about all I could handle! The curry was flavorful and the portion was big. I took half for lunch the next day. The cream cheese wontons were also really good!! Only choss 4 out of 5 stars for price, as my husband and I ended up paying $70 with tip for lunch, with no drinks besides waters. Just felt a little expensive to me. But I'd come back and try more food sometime!!

Doesn't this name just says it all... Honestly looking for a very late lunch/early dinner but had no idea what...grrr! Well I had somewhere to go in Kaimuki and decided to see where my feet will take me. Driving up I noticed a newbie in the former Keep it Simple location and know that there are several restaurants here as well. To Thai For...yup I've been walking/driving up and down Waialae and no I've never been here though keep hearing so much about it that I thought it was time to see what it's all about. As I enter honestly was delighted to see how nice and open the dining area along with the uniqueness of having shelves filled with various snacks for sale as well. Walking to the back of the restaurant is the bar though it seems like they use it as that more like a beverage station along with more snacks for sale. I ordered the Pad See Ew with Tofu at Medium spiciness that gave it just the right amount of kick loved how the veggies was cooked just right with the crunch yet not raw the noodles was so flavorful and delicious. The service was nice as I was greeted and got my order in promptly along with verifying and allergies I may have. Thank you!

If you're looking for a hidden gem with crazy delicious thai food then To Thai For is your spot to go to. They had such a great variety of dishes and everything hit the spot. My favorite was the crab fried rice, crispy shrimp rolls, and pepper pork, but everything was equally amazing. Dessert is also a must- the mango sticky rice and banana lumpia were so ono. Def will come back to try the other things on the menu. Service was awesome too!

A picture of the restaurant from the bar it's very clean really hygenic!

Ordered take out Food was ready upon arrival FYI if your ordering to go make sure you ask for napkins and any spicy sauce you may want because this was missing had to ask for it Ordered chicken satay Chicken was juicy had a bit of curry flavor witch I didn't really care for but the peanut sauce it came with was really good but was a bit cold The fried rice was amazing full of flavor and great portion had it for lunch and some for dinner If you pay cash they do offer a bit of a discount as well As far as parking there is limited parking in the front since I did order to go I was going to be in & out parked in the front but they do have parking n the back that cost I believe $14 My total for these two items was $34

These kalbi style ribs are unbelievably good!

    Can you BYOB?

You can but there is a corkage fee since they have their own selection available. It is $12 per bottle of wine that you bring or $3 per person for beer.

Are they open during the Coronavirus outbreak?

We are open for takeout only for now until further notice. Take care

Would I be able to book a dinner for 65 people here?

I'm not too sure if this is possible since they don't have enough chairs to sit that many people. Sorry !

    Do you MSG?

Don't worry, they do not use MSG

Why are they closed for an extended time?

They closed due to one of the two chefs having to get surgery. She is now fine and therefore the restaurant has opened back up

Despite the fact that it's a considerably trek for city-dwellers, factoring either traffic or bus schedules into the equation, or both if you're particularly unlucky, it's a journey always worth taking. Hit Hanauma Bay along the way and make it a day trip; the only way to top those dazzling sights is to follow them with a stellar meal. Boasting a menu composed of locally-sourced produce and entirely vegan options, you'll want to take a number of friends for the best experience. Heck, get out there and make some new friends! Join one of the long communal picnic tables out back and introduce yourself; there are no friendlier folks on earth than those living in paradise, as far as I've seen. That said, if there was only one dish to order, it would have to be the Oh WOW Laulau. Wow, indeed! No where else on earth have I found vegan laulau, let alone such a stellar rendition. Traditionally consisting of fatty pork and/or fish steamed in taro leaves, this version eschews the meat in favor of hearty root vegetables, adding creamy coconut into the mix for richness. Not to be overlooked is the Tofu Poke provided on the side, claiming to be spicy but really bearing just enough warmth to taste perfectly balanced. This was easily my personal favorite from the small sampling of dishes provided, but it's a close call when all the options are so good. Another front runner is the BBQ Portobello Sandwich. Mushrooms marinated in a bright, smoky barbecue sauce practically sing between two whole wheat buns. Coconut slaw tops off the assemblage with just the right amount of subtle sweetness to contrast the deeply savory flavors within. Simpler but no less spectacular dishes include the Roasted Veg Platter and Roasted Veg Avocado Sandwich. The way that the vegetables are treated with respect, from the moment they're harvested from nearby farms to the care taken when they reach the kitchen is evident with every bite. Cooked with care and proffered generously with each serving, even the basics make the trek out here worthwhile. I'm still trying to recreate that impossibly umami gravy offered on the side. It's one of those things that are so astoundingly, inconceivably delicious, it's impossible to deconstruct. Each entree promises an ideal amount of food; satisfying diners without over-stuffing them. That said, you'll still want to make room for dessert, especially when you see the towering bowls full of Outta This Swirled Soft Serve. Cool, naturally sweet spirals of banana-based soft serve are dressed to the nines with cacao sauce that hardens much like magic shell, granola and coconut flakes tumbling down the mountainous terrain, and fresh fruits that vary based on local availability- Expect papaya always to be in ample supply, based on the thriving papaya trees on premise. Each order is abundant enough to be a considered a full meal in and of itself.

The mai tai was unusual but palatable. The food was amazing! Still thinking about that Da Bao (Soy musubi patties, steamed buns, pickled carrots, daikon, jalapeños, cucumbers, cilantro, scallions, plum wine sauce) and how I'd like to eat it every day. The specialty rolls were works of art that were equally beautiful and had exquisite taste and texture. Manila Dune (Tempura pumpkin, spiced burdock, shredded tofu, avocado crema, chili, renkon chips) was dense but flavorful. Barbers (Smoked beets, spinach, avocado, soy strip, asparagus, rice crackers, seaweed pearls, spicy aioli, suspense) was intriguing as a little game of sushi roulette (hence the final ingredient). Whoever gets the spicy piece also gets the accompanying shot of sake. I was grateful my husband ended up getting that one because it was hot for him which means it would have been very hot for me. My only complaint with either of these specialty rolls is that each piece was quite large and therefor difficult to eat. I had to do the unconscionable thing and nibble away at it to comfortably eat it without it feeling like a choking hazard. Futo maki roll (Age tofu, spinach, shiitake, kanpyo, inari, pickled radish) was no less delicious for its simplicity. Quality was excellent, and everything on the menu sounded like something we wanted to try. We were so impressed by our meal we almost returned the following (our last) night. Lucky for us they have a restaurant in LA which I intend to visit next time I'm in town which is far more frequently than I'm in Honolulu. But would I consider flying to Oahu again for Tane Izakaya? Yes, yes I would.

Ordering ahead was easy and convenient, which I appreciated, and pickup was smooth. When I picked up my sandwich, my first thought was, "Wow, this is a heavy sandwich for a turkey-bacon with added avocado, no onions, and no tomato." At the time I assumed the weight meant a generous portion of turkey and bacon. Unfortunately, when I got back to work and opened it, I quickly realized that wasn't the case--it was the lettuce. There was an overwhelming amount of lettuce packed into the sandwich, to the point where it felt completely out of balance. Instead of being turkey-forward, it felt more like a lettuce sandwich with a few toppings added in. The turkey and bacon portions themselves were surprisingly small and unevenly distributed--one half had about two slices of turkey while the other had closer to a slice and a half. Most of the bacon was also concentrated on one half, so I ended up redistributing it just to make the sandwich feel a bit more balanced. The bread didn't help either. I think I shouldn't have gotten it toasted--it just didn't do it for me. It felt a little off with the filling and didn't add anything to the overall experience. I ordered The Duke, but what I didn't realize was that I was essentially getting a salad sandwich (see pic). I like lettuce on a sandwich, but this was next level--the amount completely overwhelmed everything else inside. The cost was another consideration--my total came to $19.37, including a $3.50 charge for avocado. For the portion size and balance of ingredients, I expected a bit more bang for my buck. If I give this place a second chance, I'll definitely need to say 'lite lettuce'--or maybe just 'no lettuce, please'--unless I want another salad disguised as a sandwich!
