Off a busy street, so you need to walk there or park down an alley. Located right next to Verizon store. The restaurant was clean and the hostess very kind. Plenty of seating for a small and large party. Ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and Fried Rice with chicken. The Pad Thai was excellent, noodles not bunched together and very flavorful. The fried rice was bland but not oily. Put some sriracha on it and it was fine. Recommend trying them if walking by or staying at a local hotel. read more

We have done take out 4 times from here in 3 weeks as we live a block away and try to patronize not only local, but neighborhood eateries so that they will thrive. Ying's is flavorful, their mango sticky rice is really tasty and I like their Drunken Noodles but their portion size on the main dishes is too small for the price point. Ordered beef kee mao and the flavors were good, but the portion wasn't enough for $20. Not enough for a meal. The Mango Sticky Rice tastes great, but a dessert for $20 is also too high. If they could augment their portion size by adding a handful of noodles and more veggies, customers may be able to justify the price point. To compare, Kevin's Kitchen take out noodles for Chow Fun or Singapore Noodles can serve 2-3 people easily, or more, for around $15. We will have to stay with Phuket Thai as their Drunken Noodle portion is flavorful, generous and their beef is much, much more tender and tasty. It is a 10 min drive for us but the value is better. The people here are really nice though and I wish them good luck, but hopefully they can remedy their portion size for take out to keep customers coming back. Customers also are feeling the pinch of rising prices, not just shop owners. read more

(I asked my server about parking and she said that they don't have any in the building.) The interior is modern, elegant, and very well air-conditioned. Restroom key is available... I'm not sure how far away it is. Service was prompt and friendly. The worker helpfully asked if I wanted to order rice with my curry. Thanks for your thoughtfulness! She also warned me that the right side of the room is cold... she's correct! She did check up on me a couple of times and offered me more water. I had the Yellow Curry (with potatoes and carrots). I wanted "zero spice", but there was some kick to it. I ate up all of the rice and took some of the pork, carrots, and potatoes home. I also got beef Pad See Ew to go. This new place opened about 2 months ago in the former Honolulu hotpot spot. I just found street parking or parked over at Azure. But must say the dishes were a tad salty, bit smaller than expected and definitely not as pictured. And quite pricey. Service was good but took awhile but I am guessing it's because they are still getting the hang of things. Especially their dish featuring fried thousand year old eggs with basil...it only came with ONE whole egg. (Two halves) The picture had at least 3 whole eggs... Fried tofu - tofu didn't have any flavor so you must rely on the peanut sauce for flavor Garlic spare ribs - it only had like 10/11 pieces Pad see you - you can choose other proteins so we picked beef. We're glad we called ahead about parking because we were told the restaurant's parking lot was closed and were advised to park across the street at Ala Moana Shopping Center. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, including a very large party. We were seated quickly and water was served right away. After placing our order, however, we waited over 40 minutes for our first dish, the cashew nut chicken. There was no communication from our waitress about the delay. We understood that the large party was likely affecting the kitchen, but a quick acknowledgment or update would have been appreciated. We ordered four dishes, and unfortunately they arrived about 10 minutes apart rather than together. On the positive side, everything we ordered was tasty. First thing I ate on ground in hawaii and it was phenomenal. Great green curry. so good. It had a little heat to it without asking for spice. I also had the sautéed cabbage. Everything came to $38 which I think may be considered reasonable on the island. in Korea, that meal probably would be around 23000 won. Nonetheless, totally worth it. read more

Two of use only ordered three things . All was a hit !! Pad Thai was yummy , larb was tasty and very soft , and the omelette was good not great only because I prefer my eggs a little runny and not overly cooked, so it was a too dry for me . I would still ordered it again tho because of the crab . Just not for the eggs haha. The service was really good. We came an hour before closing but she was very sweet and accommodating!! Also refil our waters without us calling because my friend couldn't handle the spices. I have to say one of the best on the island . Portions is nice to share as well. My only feedback is their lighting. Very harsh blinding light in the dinner time depending on the table you sit at. I had to ask if I could move because of the lighting . Very disappointed and I would not come back. We went there for my birthday dinner on a Friday night at 6:30 and they ran out of my favorite noodle dish pad-see ew, the beef Jerkey ($18.95 and chicken wing $15.95 dishes only had five pieces, both deep fried, and tasteless. We think they ran out of food but still serve them filled with lettuce/cabbage to make It presentable. The other dishes were not good either compared to other Thai restaurants . They did have 3 tables with 6-7 people but that Should not be an excuse. The kids water were served in plastic cups with no lids or straws. Yes one star for all categories. read more

Really nice food truck maybe 1-2 minute walk away from a number of hotels. It is open late so a great place to get food if you are hungry in the evening. It does get very busy and takes a long time for food to be ready, so prepare to wait. You can also call I. Orders ahead of time. They do charge extra for card, so bring cash. As we were looking down the street at the food trucks, a worker was telling us he really liked the food at the Thai Truck. He has been to Thailand and thought the noodles and curry were very authentic. When our driver was dropping us off at our hotel, he said he heard the Thai Truck had good noodles but didn't have time to try it out yet. A couple work in the truck. We ordered the Vegetable Pad Thai from the wife. It took about 7 minutes. The husband cleaned the wok, threw ingredients into the wok, stir fried everything, and then poured it all into a box. No tables or chairs so we took it back up to our hotel room. The noodles were still warm. The pad Thai flavor is there. The noodles were a bit softer/mushier than we are use to but otherwise it's good pad Thai. See the Pad Thai picture for ingredients. We had a big lunch earlier so we weren't that hungry but we wanted to try the noodles. For $14 plus tax, it's cheaper than a sit down Thai Restaurant. For convenience, it's awesome! read more

Believe it or not, good, reasonably priced food is hard to find in Waikiki. Tings Thai is a permanent food truck located in an alley next to Hyatt Place by the zoo. A limited menu of Thai basics, today I opted for chicken pad thai. I called in my order, 20 minuted picked it up. Excellent flavor, not over powered and the portion was a good size. Unassuming food truck parked on the side of the street. We came here because our in-laws were raving about it. My first impression was that the man taking our order was not very friendly. I had to wait for a while before I was helped and when I was helped, it felt like I was bothering him. Waited a bit for our food, probably around 20 minutes for one order of pad see ew, but it was pretty busy, which I took as a good sign, not to mention it was a holiday weekend, so we didn't mind waiting on the curb on this nice night. We got the beef pad see ew and it was excellent. 100% worth the wait. Not too saucy but still very flavorful.
