Lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii... The entrance of Ying's Thai Cuisine is actually on Keeaumoku Street. I parked a block away and walked over. (I asked my server about parking and she said that they don't have any in the building.) The interior is modern, elegant, and very well air-conditioned. Restroom key is available... I'm not sure how far away it is. Service was prompt and friendly. The worker helpfully asked if I wanted to order rice with my curry. Thanks for your thoughtfulness! She also warned me that the right side of the room is cold... she's correct! She did check up on me a couple of times and offered me more water. I had the Yellow Curry (with potatoes and carrots). I wanted "zero spice", but there was some kick to it. I ate up all of the rice and took some of the pork, carrots, and potatoes home. I also got beef Pad See Ew to go. Honestly, it looked kind of sparse to me... not many veggies and lacking in portion. I took a bite and it was okay - not outstanding. Everything was beautiful and tasty! However, I was shocked at the $50 (with tax and tip) bill.

This new place opened about 2 months ago in the former Honolulu hotpot spot. I just found street parking or parked over at Azure. But must say the dishes were a tad salty, bit smaller than expected and definitely not as pictured. And quite pricey. Service was good but took awhile but I am guessing it's because they are still getting the hang of things. Especially their dish featuring fried thousand year old eggs with basil...it only came with ONE whole egg. (Two halves) The picture had at least 3 whole eggs... Fried tofu - tofu didn't have any flavor so you must rely on the peanut sauce for flavor Garlic spare ribs - it only had like 10/11 pieces Pad see you - you can choose other proteins so we picked beef. If not for the whole layer of black pepper on top this actually tasted pretty good. Crab omelette - pretty flavorful but lots of eggs. Green curry - also only had like 5 pieces of meat and a few eggplants.

I had ordered a take out for the green curry with the pork ribs . This was pretty good. Medium spicy curry. Perfect . I will definitely go back here to eat .

This is one of my favorite Thai food spots on the island!!! Their Pad See Ew is so good!!! I'd love to come back and try more dishes. The service was fast, the waitress was lovely, and I love the atmosphere inside the restaurant

The place is new and looks nice. The service was good and they checked on me often. The food was really good had the papaya salad and noodles but I forgot the name. Taste was perfect and they give you chili peppers if it's not spicy enough.

I would give 9|10 for all the food because it was delicious! I love it all. Girl at the window was so sweet and helps me decided what to get. One of my favorite late night Thai spot in Waikiki. A little bit overpriced but I love their food soo 9|10 :)

I ordered 22 minutes ago...5 people who ordered after me received their orders. Pad Thai is not that hard...she told me when I asked it would be another 20 minutes...totality LIED. I hate panning an establishment I really wanted to like, but plan on waiting while they serve whomever they deem worthy of being first... On the bright side - I got my money back UPDATE - gave them another try today. Okay Pad Thai but nothing worth waiting for. Very dry, very sweet (too sweet), and hard/chewy beef

Really nice food truck maybe 1-2 minute walk away from a number of hotels. It is open late so a great place to get food if you are hungry in the evening. It does get very busy and takes a long time for food to be ready, so prepare to wait. You can also call I. Orders ahead of time. They do charge extra for card, so bring cash. The food itself is very decent for a food truck- not the best Thai food I've ever eaten, but nothing to complain about either. Definitely would go again!

Food was good and was conveniently located next to the Hyatt Place hotel. Service was quick and friendly.

I had the Pad Thai and the Yellow Curry with rice. Both were surprisingly delicious in flavor. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of my curry. The wait for food took about 30 mins with three orders ahead of mine. They are located across the stress of the Marriott on Cartwright Rd, and have limited seating available. Casual ambiance.

Thai food truck in a small alleyway with a handful of other food trucks that open in the evening, about 2 blocks from Kuhio beach. Sometimes, they can be crowded, and the Thai ladies cook your chosen protein to order with your entree or appetizer selection. Tried the beef panang curry. Was not as spicy as I would have liked, and seemed a bit Americanized - yet it was good with rice.

Nickel and dime and overpriced. 4.5% added for credit card. If you look it up, vendors get charged 1.3-3.5% and I have seen vendors asked for 4% added for credit card purchase. Adding anothe 0.5% does sound much but it's just more and more! A sign said they charge .25¢ for utensils although they did include it without asking. Thai Basil does not include rice. You want that? $2,please! It is as pretty salty too! It is also the size of a side dish so $14 is not worth it. The pad Thai was okay but still overpriced at $14z

As we were looking down the street at the food trucks, a worker was telling us he really liked the food at the Thai Truck. He has been to Thailand and thought the noodles and curry were very authentic. When our driver was dropping us off at our hotel, he said he heard the Thai Truck had good noodles but didn't have time to try it out yet. A couple work in the truck. We ordered the Vegetable Pad Thai from the wife. It took about 7 minutes. The husband cleaned the wok, threw ingredients into the wok, stir fried everything, and then poured it all into a box. No tables or chairs so we took it back up to our hotel room. The noodles were still warm. The pad Thai flavor is there. The noodles were a bit softer/mushier than we are use to but otherwise it's good pad Thai. See the Pad Thai picture for ingredients. We had a big lunch earlier so we weren't that hungry but we wanted to try the noodles. For $14 plus tax, it's cheaper than a sit down Thai Restaurant. For convenience, it's awesome!

Their restaurant is so cool tho. Upon walking in, you sign in if needed, wait to be seated. As you walk in, there's a pretty decor, I would say photo opp, but there's a table and stuff blocking. They should clear that area, so people can take pictures with it lol but when you get seated, you walk through, and they take you to the back for outdoor seating. There is no indoor seating. They have the commercial tents, and pretty outdoor decor out there too, like lights and stuff. And there's a koi pond. Bathroom is back there. The only sucky part is if it was to rain hard or have strong winds, I wonder how they deal with that. But make sure you go when it's nice weather. It's BYOB!! They have a good amount of seating too. Our go to for Olay's is the Lao style papaya salad. We eat it with chicharon, and I think they have option to order a side chicharon, but we were prepared and went store before heading over to buy bag chicharon and they allowed it for us instead of spending the same amount for a handful, you get more when you BYOBC - bring your own bag chicharon lol I just made that up. If it's BYOB, I'm sure they'll allow it. We eat that with sticky rice. Omg so bomb. I like to get the stuffed chicken wings, we ordered the calamari. Was good. We got yellow chicken curry. The wife wanted to try the beef jerky, she likes it. We take the sticky rice and roll it in to a ball, and dip it in the bagooong papaya salad sauce and even the curry. Eat it with the papaya salad and stuffed chicken!! Omg so good! One thing I forgot to mention, they are located in the heart of Chinatown, on hotel street, so you gotta find parking. Street parking or pay for public parking. Would we come here again, definitely! 10/10 recommend. Check out Olay's for your Lao food fix!

Came in craving Thai food and it absolutely hit the spot…read more The beef pad krapow was so flavorful -- perfectly seasoned with that bold, savory-spicy kick and fragrant basil. The beef was tender, and the heat level was just right (spicy but still balanced). So good over rice. The chicken panang curry was rich, creamy, and comforting. The curry sauce had that slightly sweet, nutty depth with just the right amount of spice. The chicken was tender, and the sauce was honestly spoon-worthy. We also ordered the summer rolls, which were fresh and light -- packed with crisp veggies and herbs. Dipped in peanut sauce, they were the perfect refreshing starter before the richer dishes. And Peter was a great waiter -- friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without hovering. Service definitely elevated the experience. Everything tasted fresh and well-executed. Great flavors, generous portions, and super satisfying overall. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm craving solid Thai comfort food.

This, however, will probably be my first and last visit. The place is cute enough, with a large back garden area where I chose to dine. Service was also great. I appreciate the little button at the table that I could click for service. The food, however, was mediocre at best. My friend and I ordered the pad Thai with tofu, ginger chicken, chicken satay, and pork larb. The pad Thai was the best dish, but it was very tomatoey, which I did not expect. The chicken with ginger had very little chicken. It was mostly julienned vegetables, including celery which I do not care for. The chicken satay was kinda dry and most certainly needed the peanut sauce to make it palatable. The larb was very dry with very bland flavor, served on one lettuce leaf and a wedge of cabbage. How am I supposed to eat that? All of it was quite disappointing, especially for the price point. As I was eating this meal I remembered the Thai food truck at the end of Ward, where Fisherman's Pier used to be. Now THAT was some good Thai food. I guess that was the best thing about this meal-remembering where I could get really good Thai food-so that the next time I'm having a craving, I can go back over there...I hope it's still there.

Also tried the evil jungle curry - with chicken - curry sauce was good with coconut milk packed in. not spicy at medium, would consider thai hot next time. very small quantity of chicken, but had other veggies in there. Would like to see more appropriate protein amount in dish. Lastly tried the pad kee mao - at first sight - the noodle seems more pale and bright then what I was expecting. However, the flavor was still there despite the color. Ordered with the shrimp - had maybe 4 pieces. Again should have more in quantity. Noodle texture was just right and bouncy and chewy.

We caught it right away and asked about it, and she said she had already included a tip in the total, without ever asking us. We never told her how much we wanted to tip, so it felt pretty shady that she just added one on her own and then still gave us the option to tip again. If we hadn't been paying attention and just tapped a tip option, we would've ended up overpaying. What's weird is that we had eaten here just a couple days earlier and everything was normal. The total matched, and we tipped on our own. No one added anything extra without asking. If this had been our first time, we probably would've assumed gratuity was automatically included and not thought twice about it. When we brought that up, the waitress suddenly acted like she didn't understand us, even though she had been communicating perfectly fine before. She walked away and got another staff member, who told us tipping is optional and then in a rude tone, asked, "So what do you want to do?" We still tipped in the end because we know service jobs aren't easy, but the whole situation just felt icky. Like how could you try to scam your own customers? Definitely left a bad impression, and it looks like others have had similar experiences if you look at the 1& 2 stars reviews. Makes me wonder how many people this has happened to without knowing.
