The utter humiliation of not knowing about a restaurant with hands down fresh, healthy and excellent food? That was me today discovering Kaimana Farm Cafe. 1. Bento boxes with loads of killer ban chan? Got it. 2. Smoothies and matcha ? Check. 3. Fresh proteins (vegan and otherwise) abound and 4. breakfast is available! The owner/servers are incredibly helpful in explaining about the bento boxes with veggie sides to order. Ambiance is bright and cheerful. Food is cooked to order so it'll take a bit of time. The wait is worth every minute. I ordered mochiko chicken with ginger salad dressing, hijiki mix, a delish kale salad, tofu poke, carrot salad and lotus (hasu) salad. All flavors are unique and outstanding. Mochiko chicken was moist and flavorful. Others ordered vegan mix plate and a hamburger steak. The sides (many choices) in and of themselves are freshly made, seasoned perfectly and without any duplication of flavors. Not many of us can make side salads like these so just stop by to order these. Hasu or lotus root as a side salad (!) with all these others as well? Don't think you will find this delicious and healthy mix elsewhere. On Kapahulu opposite Safeway shopping area. Parking in the back or on the street. The food is worth it.

Looking for a nice breakfast spot with no line around Kapahulu on a Saturday morning was a challenge but then I remembered this charming little cafe across Safeway. I hadn't been in a few years so wasn't sure what to expect. I remember it being busy and a little cramped, but today it was wide open. There is supposed to be parking behind by Waioli Shave Ice but we took our chances and ran across the street. The menu is a little complex but offers you lots of different options. My friend got the French toast with strawberries, chocolate sauce and whipped cream on French bread which looked more like dessert than breakfast to me. He said it was one of the best he's had and he's had many ! For protein he got 2 eggs on the side. I was much healthier and went for their special Japanese side dishes. You can get a combo with 3 or 4. I chose the kale salad and curry potato which I would repeat, but the yuzu carrot was a little sweet for me. I love that you can choose white or brown rice or salad for sides. I chose the salad which came with an incredible ginger dressing. You can tell attention and care are put into the food and decoration to create amazing flavors as a charming comfortable ambiance. The nice music in the background was an added bonus. Wanted to give another star but help was new so had some hiccups. Still she was friendly and apologetic plus the menu is not a simple one. Definitely recommend this place for great healthy food and a chill atmosphere without the hustle and bustle of some other breakfast places.

Super yummy, healthy food! We had the Dijon chicken and hamburg and both came with 5 sides, rice, and salad. The owner came out and chatted us up, and everyone working was really friendly. Food wasn't oily so even though we ate a lot, left feeling satisfied but not overly stuffed. Would definitely come again!

The power bento is a meal for when you are going out and doing something adventurous and need to fuel up. You make your choices from their daily selections and have an awesome meal. This is also a good location for a relaxing brunch also. Good coffee Street parking. Casual. Indoor and outdoor seating. Casual. Service is good. Please come and create your own adventure.

Breakfast in Kapahulu, Honolulu, Hawaii... Many people drive past Kaimana Farm Cafe, but have they ever dined there? Maybe the parking is an obstacle... Just go down the street and find the free parking lot by Waiola Shave Ice on Mokihana Street! This farm-to-table restaurant has a comfortable, casual, country feel with an Asian flair. Service was very pleasant and polite. We had a wonderful experience! I got the Hamburg plate which comes with 5 sides. I picked yuzu carrots, beets + orange, kale salad, rainbow hajiji, and Molokai sweet potato. Everything was tasty and creative! We also got an iced matcha Latte... it was refreshing and not too bitter! It felt healthy and looked picture-worthy! I'd go back again! Note: restroom is outside... ask for the key!

Can't comment on the ambiance as we didn't dine in, made a door dash order which seemingly went well considering my order arrived a few minutes earlier than expected. However the order arrived with no utensils. The food was absolutely terrible. Rice was undercooked and crunchy. How do you screw up rice in Hawaii?! And undercooked?! Even worse!!! Mochiko Chicken was also undercooked. The side of sweet potato was also underwhelming and lacking in taste. Needless to say we will not be back after a terrible experience like this. Undercooked chicken? Really?! How is this place still running. Even the plating of the to-go box was pitiful. This is probably the first bad review I've given in years and if I could give negative stars I would. Extremely disappointing meal and service.

Wow. What a gem. I am so happy I decided to find the parking lot and pop into this quiet shop early Saturday evening after an afternoon at the beach. I wasn't starving so I was a bit wishy washy in my motivation to find a place to eat in town but boy am I glad I did. This cute shop has more seating than I thought and since I caught it when there was only 2 other people, it was more than comfortable. The owner was extremely friendly, displaying all his obvious love for what he is doing and the food he is making. He is originally from Japan and brought his Japanese taste buds with him. His love for what he does is communicated clearly through his food. I ordered the vegan hamburg (Japanese style hamburger steak) and holy smokes if it was not the best vegan burger I ever tasted. So flavorful and savory....chef kiss! I'm dreaming of the day I go back and please let him not run out on that day because I literally got the last order the day I went and had to watch someone after get denied. I will cry. And the veggie choices you get with your main choice were all so fabulous. Perhaps it is reminiscent of my Japanese mom's style of serving as there were many different dishes and styles of prep. I loved everyone I got. I should have took a picture. I will on my update. I'm so excited to take my family to eat here in the near future as I believe all of the main dish choices will be Japan-level delicious!

Good morning... Kaimana Farm Cafe is found right on busy Kapahulu across Safeway though they do share a decent parking lot with Waiola Shave Ice, Island Style Cuts and Kama'aina Acupuncture. Though they do have such tempting "Power Bento" and Plate lunch offerings breakfast is something that I rarely get to enjoy and took the opportunity to give them a try. This super cute and cozy shop has such super fun decor from the chandelier hanging above the community style table to the huge chalkboard covering majority of the back wall filled with various of information is cool but you start by ordering at the counter and will bring it to you if you choose to dine in and is served in takeout containers with reusable utensils is quite different. Incredible selection of Benedicts are found here...well three to be exact lol! Their French Toast looked like the one for me and with two choices (Strawberry, Caramelized Banana Chocolate) the Strawberry was calling me for sure and what presentation it was a simple not dipped toast is toasted stuffed with sweet cream and topped with fresh strawberries served with berry sauce on the side. Loved that it wasn't too sweet and was just the right amount of everything it really didn't need much of the sauce but did bring it to another level. Breakfast does include a choice of one side and with over a dozen to choose from it can be painful to decide but tried their Brussels sprouts which came lightly dressed did still have a bit of bite to it but was done just right for me. The staff here is just a delight as we learned she was recently transplanted from the states which is bold yet courageous move that I envy and hope that she enjoys Hawaii as a cool place like this makes it an enjoyable place to start your day. Thank you!

Friendly service. I love that you can choose the sides for your bento. Vegan-friendly cafe. Parking lot is behind Waiola. Dog-friendly

What they show, radish, eggs, herbs, bread (not pictured but listed)
    Samantha H.

Spoken to the owner several times about leaving ingredients listed in the menu off the plate. He doesn't care. The Chicken Dijon salad doesn't even look like it used to. The pictures they show are not what you get. They remove all costly ingredients but still list them. It's been years. This is just one example. The response to this review prove the owner knows the descriptions are incorrect and doesn't care. Removing all the key ingredients like egg, bread, Dijon, herbs, is called bait and switch. Read the other reviews. Using Covid as an excuse is ridiculous in 2025.

The service here was amazing. The owner took the time to sit us down and walk us through the menu, even going over what oils the food is cooked in. Plenty of vegan options and options for people with allergies. Portions were very big and all of the food was extremely flavorful and thought out. This is a pretty casual restaurant with plenty of indoor seating.

Disgusting! I ordered a vegan steak through DoorDash from this place and it arrived completely burnt on both sides and uncooked inside. Drinks and sides not good either. I don't recommend this place.

The vegan sour cream is so creamy, thr coleslaw is perfectly tangy and crunchy, and the vegan fish is delightful. My husband got the chicken tacos which were hot, in contrast to the fish tacos. The last Hawaiian pizza I had was at "Spitfire Grill" in the Dukes lane Market and that got 5stars BECAUSE- it had pork grinds on the Hawaiian pizza - which by the way is really delicious and I found it an epic addition to the pizza The reason for my 5stars this time is because Teddy decided that he give me a Slice of Hawaiian pizza that has the "Ham" & Pineapple on it.... After waiting a full minute with still acknowledgment, I counted down from 10 out loud to my son and when I reached zero with still no acknowledgment, I dipped. Maybe that was ok, because the al pastor was the only thing that looked somewhat fresh. Went to Greek grotto instead and boy, you really pay the penalty tax for eating right there in Waikiki. Not only was one of the orders wrong despite asking and the workers correcting each other, the gyro plate was abysmally small. Barely 3 oz of gyro meat. I didn't find out all of this till I opened up the container at our hotel room. Irritated, I couldn't go back because I've got a tired 4 yo. The chicken karaage was slightly burnt, which means the outer crust was a tinge bitter, and mostly cornmeal, totally different from yesterday, which also disappointing. Not coming back. You'll add yourself to the list. Varying from 20 minutes up to 45 minutes for a party of 4 or more. If you are patient, your tastebuds will certainly be rewarded. Consistency is key and Momosan puts this to practice day in day out. Attentive service, delicious food, great quality and a comfortable cozy dining experience. Outdoor seating allows you to enjoy the beauty of Waikiki beach. 8 years ago I brought my wife to our first taste of Momosan on a date, we were blown away by the flavors, freshness and quality of the ramen, the sashimi and the incomparable Sticky Ribs. Each and every visit has never failed to impress us still. To this day my kids now 12 am 14 years old, have added Momosan to their list of favorite restaurants. Many can try to ie Earls, but none can dethrone(the Iron Chef Morimito-san and his Sticky Ribs
