In early July, we tuned into the "What's Cooking" segment on Hawaii News Now, which featured Fusion Café & Wine Bar X DADA. We had heard of Fusion Café, helmed by chef Rian Lee, several years ago when it was located in Kaimuki's Lafite Building, but we hadn't tried to dine there. But after hearing about and seeing the upgraded remodeling and flavorful highlights of chef Lee's collaboration with DADA Salon in the Ala Moana Hotel, on the local news program, we were fired up to try this business. We knew the exact location of Fusion Café x DADA on the third floor or the pool deck of We had an early morning appointment in the nearby Ala Moana neighborhood, so we stopped in to indulge in our morning caffeine fix and their breakfast offerings that chef Rian Lee had showcased on the televised food segment. They offer a Breakfast Menu served from 8 am to 11 am daily. As we approached Fusion Café, our eyes were immediately drawn to its dark interior and sleek wine bar. It's perfect for Happy Hour get-togethers or solo dining between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. We didn't see if they offered dinner, but they're open until 9 p.m. Their Lunch Menu features tasty burgers, sandwiches, and healthy salads. When we entered, two female workers were in front of us, and both of them greeted us with friendly smiles and cheers. We were sure to order at the counter and then find a seat since none of the tables were set with tableware for dine-in customers. The cashier pointed to the printed menus on the counter and the digital menu behind her. We didn't take too long deciding on our breakfast items since we had seen them on the televised program. Food: -Avocado Toast: I debated this item and their Egg Salad Toast. The avocado toast was composed on a 1/2-inch slice of sourdough bread and topped with fresh and chunky avocado spread, microgreens, grape tomatoes, edible flowers, and sprinkled with "Everything" seasoning. The sourdough bread had great chewy and mild tanginess, which paired well with the buttery avocado, and luckily didn't have its typical tough crust since I could cut into this breakfast toast with a serrated butter knife. $15 -Smoked Salmon Bagel: My husband selected this made-to-order smoked salmon on a 1/2 bagel for his breakfast. The toasted 1/2 bagel was topped with herb cream cheese, capers, and pickled red onions. The smoked salmon slices were arranged like pink tiles. He must have been hangry since he wolfed down his bagel half and began eyeing and inquiring about the flavors of my avocado toast. He enjoyed the presentation, freshness, and flavors, but was disappointed in getting only a 1/2 bagel (which the menu clearly stated). $15 -Americano coffee: The cashier/server/barista made us perfect pours of Americano coffee drinks. The medium-dark roasted coffee beans' flavors, body, and aroma were balanced by the amount of water added to make this coffee drink. It was so delicious and comforting that we asked for a refill. $4/cup We enjoyed this new wine bar-café and look forward to I returning for more. It's a departure from its former tenant, who served casual local to international-flavored dishes.

The Fusion with Dada... Just love the Fusion created here as the vibe is just cozy as the dark painted interior has an instant calming effect with music playing to awaken my inner laziness. As I came I for breakfast before I start my day you walk in and order at the counter very simple and easy while I took one of many seating for my order which was a chia pudding made with a coconut base and topped with mangoes, almonds which gave it a nice sweetness and crunch as I paired it with a can of Lychee Cola a local probiotic that I love. You can find this spot in the AlaMoana Hotel third floor and you just can't miss the huge DADA sign and with lots of breakfast options from various breakfast toasts like avocado toast, açai bowl, and fresh baked goods this is a great spot to start your day or fuel it up with lunch as well as I'll be back and have my eye on their Charcuterie Club...yum! Thank you!

I came here twice during my stay at the Alamona Hotel. The ACAI BOWL is fresh fruit banana, berries, granola, nalo honey. It became a source of energy for the morning. I also had a dinner for JUMBO SHRIMP LINGUINE: Creamy tomato, toasted breadcrumb. All dishes feature locally made pasta from Onda Pasta in Kaimuki. The pasta is freshly made, hot, and has a lot of jumbo shrimp in it. However, there are shrimp shells, so eat carefully. The lady at the store greet me with smiles. The store was quite empty, so I was able to sit wherever I wanted, which was nice.

Where is everyone?!!! This place would be mobbed if it were in San Francisco: phenomenal food made with deliciously fresh ingredients of top quality, served by cheerful efficient women. True, I'm here on a Tuesday night, but I practically had the place to myself. Not a problem for me... my dinner was came quickly. The fish tacos made with tender, moist swordfish in a light crisp batter were perfection, as was my latte. I hope to have another meal here tomorrow. The açaí bowl sounds yummy.

Had a glass of wine and baby had watered down lemonade. Her drinks were put in plastic cups with covers and those horrible paper straws. Eyes always bigger than my stomach, we ordered: - Cornbread - when i grabbed it I thought would be super dense but really wasn't. I thought it was very corny and tasty. Lightly toasted. Honey drizzle which wasn't too sweet...or maybe I just ate the parts that didn't have. Baby ate almost 1.5 pieces and even liked the Jalapeno Butter that I just dabbed on her bread. She said wasn't spicy but think she just didn't have enough. - Bone Marrow - lit it on fire to burn off the alcohol. Pretty sure it ddin't get it all so I cut baby off once I realized it. Other than needing some salt, really good. Choke mushrooms on top. One half was scrawny, but hubs had the other half for leftovers and choke marrow. YUM. - Sunchoke and Brussels - YUM. Baby ate some but was not really thrilled about it. I loved it. - Scallop and Mushroom Risotto - YUM. Delish. Baby liked it too. So much leftovers of everything. Realized when we ate it for leftovers it was all pretty oily and needed a pinch of salt. But otherwise great. Staff really nice and helpful. Love that the place is spread out and open. Bathrooms are not assigned which I'm sure can get gross, but is great to not have to wait for just the women's. There is a big stall which was perf since baby is potty training and had to go #1 and #2! Only thing missing was a hook to hang my purse and her bag. Great dinner...but if anyone is listening...bring back the shrimp and grits!!!

I bought Guatemala, Columbia, and Hawaiian. Had them all ground fine. Each one proved to be a winner with the family! So happy to have found this not so hidden gem! It is now my go to for beans! We came around 4PM and were surprised it was almost empty (but slowly it did get busier). Our food came with complimentary bread with guava sauce. It was really good! The bread is toasted, crispy, and buttery. Everyone in my party enjoyed it. We did not expect our food items to come in really large portions. I loved the chicken karaage! The batter was light and crispy with great flavors and had a yummy sauce drizzled on top. It also came with a scoop of rice, buttered corn, and Mac salad. Mac salad was delicious! Prime rib sandwich came with salad and au jus sauce and a side of salad. It's good but also very filling. I didn't try the burger or teriyaki chicken but was told both were delicious. After dinner, we ordered a few items from the bakery to eat on the plane. You have to take a number and wait for them to call it. I got 2 kouign Amannn, 2 Dubai coco puff, and half dozen green tea puff. The kouign amann is a circular croissant. I liked that it was soft and flaky and had a sweet, crispy glaze over it. The Dubai coco puff had a strong pistachio crunchy flavor but I thought it was way too sweet for me personally. The Star of the show are the green tea cream puffs! I would come back to just order that! The top filling tasted like a thick creamy brown butter green tea-flavored icing. The filling inside doesn't taste like brown butter and less thick but still really good. Overall, they had really good food and items from the bakery. Highly recommend the infamous green tea cream and chicken karaage dish! Customer service was quick and professional though I felt like our server wasn't that friendly lol.
