This place is kind of hard to find as it's tucked away inside of a bigger market area. I tried the pho (decent, tasted clean) and the pork vermicelli (just OK, didn't taste super authentic). Prices were OK and portions were on the smaller side. I probably wouldn't come back again as there are so many other options nearby.

This is my favorite Pho Restaurant IN THE WORLD! Bold statement, but once you try here, you'll be hooked too! The only downside is the location downtown -- out front is kind of sketchy, so go during the day, park in the Chinese Cultural Plaza parking and it's pretty safe. We always order the same dishes. Beef pho, chicken pho, spring rolls (cooked to perfection) and the papaya salad. The service is always good. Family run. They always remember you and everyone greets you when they see you. Tip: request cooked bean sprouts and a side of raw onions to complete an already tasty meal.

Quick service. Consistently yummy pho, flavorful broth, good portion size & meat ratio. I really enjoy the Vietnamese iced coffee as well. If only they stayed open later.

The restaurant located inside Chinese Cultural Plaza. A lot of Parking in the building. Lunch time usually busy and might need to wait in line. Spring rolls: (10/10) The best spring rolls in town. Crunchy with lots of stuffing. Love to wrap with the lettuce. Combination Pho: (9/10) Hot and Flavorful soup base. Everything like basil and meat are so fresh. Iced Coffee: (8/10) Very strong coffee flavor Overall that's my favorite pho place. In the future, I hope they'll have more selection in the menu like Pork Chop rice or Bánh mì.

Food is always great and vegetables are fresh and clean. Their pho broth is amazing. Service pretty fast whether dine in or take out.

My wife and I like to come here sometimes. The staff are always nice and the food is really good. I'm a simple guy who just likes beef brisket pho, and this restaurant always delivers. The broth is strong and flavorful and it tastes awesome so I don't even like to add any sauce or sriracha. My wife always likes to get spring rolls and we both think they're tasty too. Definitely a low key spot for getting some good pho in Chinatown. Also, last time I was here the owner said he liked my t shirt! lol

    The "after" combination pho

Was definitely authentic Vietnamese pho. Iced coffee is tasty! Egg rolls and pho delicious. Forgot to take a before pic but we did take an after hahaaa

Small restaurant but clean and good service. Prices are quite reasonable. Waiters are nice. Parking in Chinese Cultural Plaza parking structure.

Decided to try this place out as it was open early on Sunday morning. It was fairly crowded at 8:30am but we were able to get a seat. Server came quickly with water and utensils and menu. After a few minutes he came back to take our order. The order took about 5min to come out. I had the medium combination pho. The broth had a good flavor and the meats inside were good. Only thing is I didn't get any tripe in my combination, so was hoping for that. I will explicitly ask for it to be included. Definitely a good choice for a quick bowl of pho.

This is the large Pho Dac Biet. Only two pieces of meat

I remember visiting this spot at the cultural plaza when I was younger, and it's been a while since l've been back. Pho Huong Lan is a good place to go for a fantastic bowl of pho. However, there is one thing to keep in mind and it's the portion size. It's on the smaller side, so you might find yourself wishing for more. I'm not a fan of spending over $20 after tax and tip, only to still feel hungry afterward so that's why I can only give them a 3 stars. But Pho Huong Lan is definitely worth a try. Their pho is good and it brings back some nostalgic memories for me. So next time you're craving some Vietnamese comfort food give this place a shot.

I got diarrhea after eating at this restaurant. I was coming here to carb up for my run race the next day, but the unclean food upset my GI tract, in turn, messed up my race. I wish I could give it better rating, but there is nothing fantastic about restaurant like most the reviews stated. Overall, the food tasted ok, but the food is not clean, the Pho was tasteless, the steak in the pho is tough. The restaurent itself is not clean, we can see the red hot sauce sprayed on the curtain blinds, the staff could easily wipe them off, but they didn't seem to have any notion of cleanliness. Shrinkflation: the food portions are small, and the price is high. Other than the Pho, we ordered a few other dishes 1 the Stir fried tofu- it tasted good, 2 the chicken rice dish- it tasted good, 3 the lemonades- it tasted fresh and sweet 4 the French ice coffee- it had a strong deep taste, as expected. 5, the fried spring rolls- why so cheap with the lettuce? They gave us 3 lettuce leaves were teared in half and 2 spritz of mint leaves. 6, now the Pho, I got #12 medium size with steak, tendon and beef balls. The soup was clear and there were a tiny portion of rice noodles on the bottom, but all the rave about this Pho, were overrated. The atmosphere of the restaurant was not great, weird layout with sliding doors cutting the place in half, and unclean. This restaurant was not better than our usual Pho place, which is Pho #1 for several reasons: 1. The food is not clean, it gave me diarrhea which Pho #1 never did. 2. The portions are very small, smaller than Pho#1, and they ended up costing the same. It was a disappointment. Needless to say, we will not come back.

Had an opportunity recently to come back to the island for a visit and the must have on my list was PHL. I remember when I was in school this place was on my weekly rotation, sometimes even twice a week. Not sure if it's due to being in college and started drinking and this is ALWAYS a good cure for hangovers, but PHL always hits the spot. Not only their combo pho, but also their spring rolls. One thing I don't get elsewhere that this place is so thoughtful, is they cut the lettuce to the exact size for rolling on the outside of the spring rolls. Add a little mint, you got the perfect combo. Also, rarely in Colorado the pho places would leave out the baby sauce dishes, I always have to ask for it. My favorite way to eat pho is to dip the sauce and not drench the soup... and when you eat at PHL, you need to taste the soup. It's just that good. If they used any msg my body couldn't tell, it just tastes like it's slow simmered for hours.... And I'm not tired after. The meat ball is also a whole small meatball cut in half, not sliced flat pieces that does not look like it's a meatball. Most of the time, those sliced meatball has a weird taste... not here at PHL. I always get the combo pho, everything is so delicately sliced, the tendon is super tender, the tripe smells clean, the beef is all so tender too. It's been 20 years since I moved away, and one of the owners was looking at me like she knew me - she said, you look so familiar... I let her knew I was a long time kama'aina that moved away... but before I did I visited every week, even when I moved away from Honolulu to Makakilo. I also really love their sate chili sauce. Come to find out they use this specific kind that can really be found on the island that's from Thailand. It's spicy and savory. They sell the jars here if you'd like to take one home or you could find it in any of the Vietnamese mom and pop grocers in Chinatown. Thanks to Ann and her siblings/family for sharing decades of deliciousness. Please keep going strong so I can still come back to enjoy your family tradition. If you're in HNL, please come support them.

I heard they will keep this space for special events. The restaurant is quite busy and I'm glad we had reservations. Good thing I was there prior to lunch hour opening, otherwise we may lose our reservations since the person who made reservations tends to be habitual in arriving late. We dined in May, but it's been awhile since I first dined here. I preferred dining in Chinatown during lunch time than at dinner. Our waiter was really nice and helpful. I forgot his name, but I remembered that his eyeglasses that he wore was cool/funny, since the frames for each eye didn't match the other eye! lol. Funny it wasn't me who first noticed it. One was square frame and the other was a round frame! The restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays except may write Happy Birthday in chocolate on the dessert plate that you purchase for the birthday person. Their desserts are unique and refreshing. I think there are some rotating desserts /flavors like their seasonal menu for their main menu. I guess you can always keep coming back without being bored of the menu! I was bummed to see a previous dish posted of a pasta that I wanted to try that wasn't on the current spring seasonal menu! When we dined for brunch over the weekend, I was able to get the Hainan chicken with the crispy roast pork combo. It was very filling , tasty and satisfying. I do love ginger sauce on the cold ginger chicken but sometimes the chicken is just okay. This Hainan chicken was really good and the chicken was really moist! I thought it was the best I've tried! It was good that I wanted to takeout one last time in August before they moved! No more the 50/50 combo with the crispy roast pork on the lunch menu during the weekday. It was on the spring menu. Of course it's best to eat it in the restaurant than for take out. Bathroom is a must for me when dining out and they had only one shared bathroom for everyone! There was a guy who tried to make several attempts but wasn't successful, since there was always someone in the restroom. I'm glad the waiter told me there was a bigger separate bathroom with several stalls for men and ladies upstairs. You go straight through the kitchen to catch the elevator and to another kitchen /storage area! Thank Goodness! Best wishes at your new location. You offer yummy and tasty food!

While the servers were nice, we did order ahead of time and showed up when the Beluga app (where we ordered off of) told us to show up, but I ended up waiting 15 minutes at the restaurant later than I was supposed to get my food. Additionally, the staff seemed to forget I was sitting/waiting for my food. My suspicion is that the online ordering service isn't actively monitored and our order wasn't started until I actually showed up to the restaurant to pick up our food at the designated time. The food was okay for us. I'm a big Banh Mi fan and was looking forward to eating their Combination Banh Mi, but unfortunately the Banh Mi seemed a little rushed in preparation and lacked flavor. My husband on the other hand, ordered their Combination Pho and it absolutely did not disappoint. Although their Banh Mi was not as delicious and flavorful as I expected, their Pho was the exact opposite of that. They give you a generous amount of broth and their portions of greens was beyond enough (maybe a little bit too much for one serving). The last food item to talk about are their Spring Rolls. It wasn't anything too special compared to your usual Spring Rolls, but I will say that their dipping sauce and everything else that comes with it (rice noodles, cucumbers, cabbage, carrots) made it so that you could easily make it a meal vice an appetizer. If you're looking for a cozy place to have dinner, their space was a bit crowded but if you're okay with then this place is good. Just be warned that their prices are a little bit on the higher side in my opinion and be prepared for long wait times to receive your order.
