    Lemongrass Chicken Sandwich

Amazing food!! The service was fast, food was fresh, iced coffee was great. I would suggest getting the food to go and taking to the beach or a park to eat - not a ton of seating at the restaurant

Probably one of the best banh mi options on the island! Located on the top level of this building, this banh mi has a perfectly crispy/baked bread and well balanced mix of ingredients. We ordered both the Saigon special and the crispy pork options. I personally preferred the Saigon social due to its balanced taste, it didn't feel overly heavy, and everything worked well together. This place tends to sell out closer to closing so I recommend buying early! They have plenty of seats inside and outside and service is quick. My only qualm, as with everything in hawaii, is the prices are starting to get pretty expensive. But otherwise I will def be coming back!

Thank you Le and Associates! With the crispy roast pork nestled in blankets of veg and the perfect slice of jalapeño to bring us some fresh heat? It was a warm breeze to a late Honolulu afternoon. Here I don't have to ask for extra pâtè or jalapeño or anything really. It's a perfect sandwich. Their Saigon Special is super special. But this was my last day with pork for a bit and wanted to have some fun in a banh mi shop that just hits. Every time. And, I usually select their Vietnamese coffee, but the peach tea was calling my name and was the perfect alternative! The roast pork had this sweet glaze that paired perfectly. It was the perfect porch snack! Or should I say lanai? This was a perfect sandwich in the middle of January, smack dab in the middle of the Pacific, I am torched even in the middle of winter. Cooked.

This place was a hit! Found it on yelp after searching for Bahn mi sandwich spots It's on the top floor. I had the Roast pork bahn mi which was DELICIOUS. I enjoyed Every single bite. Crispy bread with crispy roast pork and fresh vegetables. OMG I think this is the best bahn mi sandwich I've ever eaten. My husband had the #1 sandwich. Sorry forgot the name but he didn't like it as much as he liked mines. I will definitely come here again and again and again!

Ordered for takeout at 11am on a Saturday, and only waited a few minutes for two sandwiches to come out. They're located on the third floor and have a few tables indoors and another couple outdoors if you choose to dine-in. The building also has public restrooms on the same floor. I split the Saigon Special and the Roasted Pork banh mi with my partner so we were able to try both options. The bread was pretty good- airy, crisp, and doesn't scratch up your mouth! There was a good amount of pickled veggies, pate, and meat to be satisfied. I typically love a good cold cuts sandwich, but surprisingly, I preferred the roast pork sandwich- the fat of the pork belly was rendered out so nicely and was another crispy element of the sandwich, while the meaty bits were rich and tender.

We saw that Le's Banh Mi made the Top 100 restaurants list so we decided we had to try Le's in our next trip to Oahu. They are located close to Walmart and Sam's Club. There is a small valet parking lot that serves the businesses in the small complex. It took a little searching but we found street parking in a cluttered neighborhood next to Walmart. We ordered 4 Banh Mi: two of the Saigon Special, a Roasted Pork and a Lemongrass Chicken sandwich. The rolls were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The vegetables were all very fresh, tasty, not limp and a good amount of ingredients. The Roasted Pork was really rich from a lot of fat from the meat which overpowered the sandwich. The Saigon Special was good but the Lemongrass Chicken was the best. It takes awhile to make the sandwiches so be prepared to wait a little bit. It took about 20 minutes to get our sandwiches which gave me time to peruse the Cookie Lady shop a couple of doors over. Overall the sandwiches were very good with the exception of the Roasted Pork sandwich. It was still a good sandwich just overpiwe the fat. Li's Banh Mi is worth a visit to try one of the sandwiches. The service is okay, parking a challenge and the prices are about what should be expected.

I am not a banh mi expert by any means, but this is the best banh mi I have ever had. The crunch of the bread and everything in between was a symphony of different flavors and textures. Food was made to order and not too much wait. There were 2 tables inside and a few more outside. This is definitely a go to for banh mi sandwich and I dont generously give 5 stars and this one was worth it.

The Roasted pork was succulent, so juicy juicy juicy, with crackling skin. I was biting into heaven. Really good Vietnamese sandwich on the third floor to the right hand side. We had the roast pork sandwich and it was fresh and delicious. The meat was tasty and tender with lots of flavor. The pickled daikon and carrots were sweet, the fresh herbs and vegetables added more freshness to the mix. The sliced jalapeño gave it an extra kick of spiciness. And can't forget the bread, it was crispy and soft, nicely baked to perfection. It doesn't get better than this. I call in for my order but somehow it failed to pass through to the kitchen. The gentleman at the cashier was really nice and gave me a discount plus 2 extra baguette for the mix-up. Plus the sandwiches came out in 5 minutes so not a big deal at all. I would come back for more!

@fortunefoodfinds: "Don't BAGUETTE to smile today! A Roasted Pork n' a Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi Combo 1 that's paired with a Vietnamese Ice Coffee from Le's BANH MI located at the 808 Center. Whether you dine-in or grab to-go, you can find their scrumptious sandwiches on the top floor just so you know!" Staff: friendly Interior: small, very limited seating, maybe 2 parties max. Surprisingly was able to fit our very large stroller. Exterior: on 3rd floor, elevator available, some table seating Wait time: 10 mins Parking: valet, metered street Overall comments: you get a Vietnamese ice coffee in Combo 1, which I believe saves you $1. The bread was crisp on the outside n' soft on the inside. The roasted pork had the crispy skin n' succulent meat while the lemongrass chicken was flavorful n' tasty. The pickled n' fresh veggies brought the sweet crunch. Both sandwiches were yuMmmy!

Hair in the banh mi sandwich

I get my banh mi from here once in a while since their freshly baked baguette is the best! Best banh mi on the island for sure. However, my banh mi from today had 2 strands of black short hair. This was a disappointing and unappetizing experience for sure... Dear owners, please make sure this doesn't happen to the other customers since you guys make the best sandwich

    Jess C.

Wow, this place is so good! They absolutely nailed the bread which was fresh and crusty. The pickled vegetables and herbs were the perfect amount with the right acidity, so I didn't need to pay extra. But the best part was the delicious, roasted pork inside that complemented the bread and vegetables perfectly. My husband and I are split on which we prefer; I'm a fan of Le's, and he prefers No Name. Both have less-than-ideal parking. I love that Le's is open early, but remember you have to go around back to find the stairwell.

    Tofu and mushroom banh mi

Bread was breading, fillings filled to the brim, and tastes were tasting amazing. I was surprised to see a spot with so many good reviews (cautiously optimistic?) but honestly, I can see why. This spot is tucked into the 3rd floor at a complex with other eateries and can be easy to miss if you're not looking from the street. The interior is small but bright and cute and the outdoor tables are a great vibe. You order at the counter and there are a mix of banh mi, viet coffees/teas. We pulled through with a matcha so can't comment on the viet coffee, but others seemed to really enjoy it. Now for the banh mi, your girl had to get the mixed tofu and mushroom one (you can do both or either one of the two as your veggie option). The banh mi are not playing AROUND. The bread is super crisp crunchy without being hard and the inside is fluffy perfection. The pickled veggies and jalapeno topping are A+ and they do not skimp whatsoever. My friend's lemongrass chicken banh mi was also bustin at the seams. My only qualm was that the tofu/mushroom was a biiit sweeter than I'd like but I think easily fixed with more jalapeno or chili sauce. You get great quality and quantity for the price and service is super friendly. Street parking in the area isn't bad either! Come thru and support this cute business with some of the best banh mi I have had in a while!

Super delicious I went with my sister. She got the lemongrass chicken and I got the Saigon special. The baguette was really warm and crispy. I also ordered a peach tea and she got the coffee with foam. Service was super fast and easy. I ordered mine as a combo. I like how quiet it was and it was only down the street from Walmart .

    no frills, simple packaging.

This place was just two blocks away, so we braved the November misty rain and consistent wind through the buildings to make it over here. To be fair, this seemed more like a Vietnamese coffee joint and a Banh Mi place... so maybe coming here for pho wasn't our best idea. They had two kinds available that night-- beef and chicken. Since chicken pho is not something I'm willing to try, we both ordered up the dac biet. The broth was bland with a thin and unpleasant veil of grease along the top that congealed quickly on the rim of the bowl. It wasn't hot enough, or maybe the pre-cooked and chilled noodle block they poured it over cooled it off. Meat was chewy and low quality. The sprouts and basil were soggy and wilted. Honestly, it was a get up and leave kind of thing. The whole place was just dingy and didn't feel great. I've eaten at some very modest places in my native San Gabriel Valley in Southern California, so it's not a snobbery thing. It's a "someone get a Swiffer wet jet and some paper towels and give this whole place a once-over. Speaking of once, that's the sum total of times we'll ever eat here. Ordering ahead was easy and convenient, which I appreciated, and pickup was smooth. When I picked up my sandwich, my first thought was, "Wow, this is a heavy sandwich for a turkey-bacon with added avocado, no onions, and no tomato." At the time I assumed the weight meant a generous portion of turkey and bacon. Unfortunately, when I got back to work and opened it, I quickly realized that wasn't the case--it was the lettuce. There was an overwhelming amount of lettuce packed into the sandwich, to the point where it felt completely out of balance. Instead of being turkey-forward, it felt more like a lettuce sandwich with a few toppings added in. The turkey and bacon portions themselves were surprisingly small and unevenly distributed--one half had about two slices of turkey while the other had closer to a slice and a half. Most of the bacon was also concentrated on one half, so I ended up redistributing it just to make the sandwich feel a bit more balanced. The bread didn't help either. I think I shouldn't have gotten it toasted--it just didn't do it for me. It felt a little off with the filling and didn't add anything to the overall experience. I ordered The Duke, but what I didn't realize was that I was essentially getting a salad sandwich (see pic). I like lettuce on a sandwich, but this was next level--the amount completely overwhelmed everything else inside. The cost was another consideration--my total came to $19.37, including a $3.50 charge for avocado. For the portion size and balance of ingredients, I expected a bit more bang for my buck. If I give this place a second chance, I'll definitely need to say 'lite lettuce'--or maybe just 'no lettuce, please'--unless I want another salad disguised as a sandwich!

I had visited their sister location the night before in Waikīkī and had such a great experience that I told my wife, "If this place is anything like last night, we're in for something good." She agreed--and we decided to give it a shot. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by Colby, a tall, friendly guy with a great attitude. I mentioned my experience from the night before, and he immediately said he wanted to live up to that standard. That kind of response set a really positive tone. We ordered two Aroma Specials: Dolce & Banana (me) Nutella Latte (my wife) For food, we went with: P.B. Delight açaí bowl Turkey pesto panini Bacon & egg bagel Total came out to about $62, which we expected given the location near the beach. We grabbed a seat inside by the window (outside seating was full--no surprise on such a beautiful morning). Our drinks came out quickly--but unfortunately, this is where things started a little rough. We both noticed right away that something was off. My wife's Nutella latte didn't have that rich hazelnut flavor you'd expect, and my Dolce & Banana was missing the banana entirely. Honestly, they tasted almost identical. When I politely mentioned it to a staff member who brought out our food, the response felt dismissive and didn't really address the concern--which was disappointing and definitely not the experience we were hoping for. At that point, we decided to just enjoy the food and move forward--and I'm glad we did, because the food was fantastic. The turkey pesto panini was loaded with flavor, perfectly crispy on the outside, and packed with melty cheese. The bacon & egg bagel was hearty, well-balanced, and super satisfying. The P.B. Delight açaí bowl was the surprise standout--perfectly blended, fresh, and the peanut butter added an awesome richness that made it feel like a treat. Everything on the food side absolutely delivered. A few minutes later, Colby came by to check on us--and this is where the entire experience turned around. I let him know honestly: "The food is amazing, but the coffee missed the mark." Without hesitation, without attitude, and without making excuses, he said, "Hang on, let me fix that." I even told him not to worry about it--we were enjoying ourselves regardless--but he insisted. "Rick, I got you," he said. Within minutes, he came back with two freshly made drinks and a sincere apology. We took a sip and immediately--night and day difference. The Nutella latte had that rich, distinct hazelnut flavor. The Dolce & Banana finally had that smooth, balanced banana note Exactly what we were hoping for the first time. Colby is the MVP Colby completely turned this experience around. His attitude never changed--he was smiling, positive, kind, and genuinely cared about making things right. No defensiveness, no excuses--just great customer service and follow-through. That kind of service is rare, and it matters. It's evident that not all the workers have that same dedication to customer service but Colby does! Ordered a turkey sandwich, which comes with sprouts, lettuce, tomato and mayo and asked for the sprouts and tomato on the side, and was told that they're not allowed to do that. First he gave me the excuse that they don't have portion cups so I asked for them to just wrap it in paper and he refused because that's one of their founding rules. He literally told me "you can either have it in the sandwich or not at all" even though I'm paying for the ingredients. He then added on that if I wanted to pay extra for the premium add-ons ($2 for a slice of cheese), I could get THOSE on the side. To make the sandwich worth even LESS than the $10 for turkey and lettuce, I watched as he cut the bread in half and DUG OUT the insides of the bread and threw it away before putting the turkey and lettuce into what was left of a very skinny baguette shell. So much for trying to support a new business to the area. Never again!
