Early lunch in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawai'i... Located at Kapalama Shopping Center, Bahn Mi'licious is a cute, clean café with friendly service, pleasant music, air-conditioning, free parking, and delicious food! Jasmine greeted me right away and asked how I wanted my bread for my Bahn Mi... more crunch on the outside? Soft inside? Regular? Later, she checked on me... and after a while, the male staff took my used plate away. Thank you! Jasmine also suggested that I try the ginger lemonade... which was better than I expected! I added water to make my drink last longer... and I smashed the fresh ginger slices with my straw to make good use of the ginger! The lemongrass tofu Bahn mi had a lot of flavor from the pickled veggies and marinated tofu! The crust of the bread was crisp and light! Yum! I'm looking forward to returning!

I ordered the Lemon grass bahn mi sandwich and it was so tasty. I appreciate the veggie option. The veggie ingredients were fresh and the sauces perfectly seasoned. I would come back to try their pho.

First time and blown away with the taste of the banh mi. The baguette was light and flaky. The pork and meatloaf was balanced with picked veg and jalapeños. Service was fast. The location was convenient and the restaurant was clean and looked new. Definitely coming back to try the banh mi with lemongrass chicken.

Opened on 2/9/26, I was excited to read other Yelper reviews of Bahn Mi'licious, a new casual Vietnamese restaurant in the Kapalama Shopping Center. Owner Jasmine Nguyen uses her traditional family recipes in offering her signature bahn mi sandwiches and 12-hour simmered pho. Also offered are summer rolls, stir-fried noodles, and rice dishes using pork chicken, beef, and vegetarian items. While the menu may be limited at this time, additional Vietnamese dishes can easily be added. Jasmine has experience in the restaurant industry offering Vietnamese cuisine. She is associated with other family members who formerly owned Ripples of Smiles when it was in Kaimuku and then moved to Kailua before it closed, as well as the current Vietnam Deli in Kailua and another Bahn Mi Licious location in Clovis CA. On the day we came, just as it opened, Jasmine welcomed us in seating us at a table; however, she noted that the "big bone" wasn't delivered, so she couldn't prepare her pho for serving. It was being delivered today, so the pho would be ready the next day. We then decided to order the lemongrass banh mi to go and return the next day for the pho. As soon as we left, Jasmine posted a note on the front entrance, noting that the restaurant was closed for the day. We returned the next day, and Jasmine assisted us again. Here's our views on what we had: * Lemongrass chicken banh mi. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The sandwich was loaded with cucumbers, carrots, sweet onion, house pickles, jalapeno, mayo, pate, cilantro, and black pepper sauce. Hubby enjoyed the house-made pate and black pepper sauce that made the banh mi delicious, and despite the generous filling, I thought the sauces made the bread chewy as you reached the middle. * Beef pho. Served piping hot, the flavorful pho included sirloin, brisket, meatballs, tendon, sliced onions, cilantro, green onions. Fresh basil, bean sprouts, jalapeno, and lemon were served to accompany the pho. Both of us enjoyed the tasty one-size pho and can see what 12 hours of simmering will do with a 5-hour rest period; however, we felt that the serving size could have been larger based on its price point. We love that the tables had condiments that could be used: hoi sin sauce, Sriacha, hot chili sauce, house-made chili oil/sauce, minced sweet onion, and a shoyu seasoning s sauce. Excellent customer service, as owner Jasmine tended to our needs. She always had a smile and appeared to be passionately happy with her new restaurant! The small clean restaurant seats 24 and has some nicely wooden-carved tables. It was interesting that jazz music was playing in the background, and Jasmine noted that it was because she loved jazz music. Nice ambiance on a casual restaurant! Hours of operation are daily 10a to 8p. Located in the same shopping center as Zippy's, Egghead Cafe, and Elvin's Bakery, free parking is available in the private lot; however, spaces are hard to find during peak dining periods due to other restaurants in the complex. Note that a 4% fee is charged if credit cards are used instead of cash. Banh Mi'Licious is a nice addition to this shopping complex. Congratulations to Jasmine for her new restaurant and wish that it will be a successful venture for her! We look forward in returning to try additional menu items! Support local!

Jasmine at Banh Mi'licious is the best! She greeted me right away with a smile and coffee...way cool hostess! I bought the Banh Mi'licious baguette sandwich, the flavorful beef brisket. I already tried the sampler Banh Mi'licious when I did my laundry here at Kapalama Plaza. Just trying out a grand opening for a cool Yelp review and I made a friend. Stop by and try out an authentic Vietnamese style gourmet sandwich, you won't be disappointed.

There's a new Vietnamese restaurant in the Kapalama Shopping Center where you find Zippy's. Banh Mi'licoous just opened 02/09/26 and they just had their 3 days special with 21% off. Aw I missed it by 1 day but she gave me 10% off being the 4th day. I do enjoy Vietnamese food and usually get the banh mi or the cold vermicelli with pork & spring rolls, but what caught my eye was the phonominal sautéed. Oh I really liked it! The pork and everything mixed together was so flavorful and I got the pho broth for additional $5.50. I pre-ordered on the phone which I would recommend. I did wait a couple minutes and also got the ginger lemonade! I do like ginger so it was refreshing with slice or two of ginger in the drink. The place was bright and clean. The lady, perhaps part owner was really nice while her husband or seemed like family prepared my order. Just the two of them and was happy to give my support. My mom had tried my left over and she enjoyed it. Lately she has been a picky eater. I would ordered this again! Noticed there's a 4% fee on charge card order. It's a little more than some places at 3% and my credit card has a 2.5% cash reward so I decided to pay cash lol. I really liked this dish but I look forward to trying the other menu items. Just based on this dish, I'll give it a 5 stars. Please support them. Lots of free parking!

New Vietnamese eatery in the Kapalama Shopping Center. Just opened 5 days ago. We went to try the Bahm mi sandwiches. I had the Saigon special and my wife had the Grill chicken. Sweet lady made conversation with my wife while we waited. Service was excellent. My wife and I agreed the the bread had a nice crust, but chewy. Willing to try the Pho next time Enjoy

Just open 5 days ago per the cashier maybe owner. Saw this place on yelp. Located in the Kapalama shopping ctr where ahi and vegetable and Elvins bakery located. Donna O. came here and took pictures on her drink and the inside and her food she bought . So today after dropping my taxes off with my cpas office we came here and ordered bahn mi sandwichs. I had grilled chicken and my husband had pork and meatloaf Saigon special bahn mi. I thought my bahn mi was good had lots of pickled vegetables like daikon, carrots cucumber. The spread they use is a homemade pate spread they put on the bottom of the baguette. Kinda like a mayo but the taste is hard to explain. My chicken was sautéed with some kind of Thai flavoring then grilled. My husband said hes one was ok. The baguette was hard and crusty should of have been a little softer. Other than this said this place just opened try them if you like pho and bahn mi sandwiches. You can request certain things taken out from your bahn mi like jalapeños, clinatro, onions etc or just leave it in.

    Beef pho with Thai tea

I have been going to this restaurant since it opened in February. I don't often post reviews on yelp, but I believe that this place has the best Vietnamese food on Oahu. The owner jasmine is very kind, and you can tell that she cares about her customers and the quality of her food. It reminds me of a home cooked meal! I have tried everything on her menu, and you really cannot go wrong with anything. My favorites are the beef pho, BBQ pork or lemongrass bahn mi, and the spring rolls. If you like Vietnamese food and are nearby, definitely give this place a shot!

I ordered carry out on their first day of business. Jasmine was very kind and provided great service. I ordered a lemongrass chicken bahn mi, stir fried noodles with pork, a side pho broth, and a ginger lemonade. Everything was wrapped with care and I made it home with all my goodies in tact! I had the bahn mi & broth. The bahn mi was excellent. The broth was also amazing with slices of onion and cilantro included. Also, it was basically a full sized soup! Usually when I prefer a side broth it's a small/mini size. The noodles my friend ordered looked awesome with lots of veggies and meat (pork). I'll definitely be back! The establishment has a nice, clean, and inviting set up.

    Veggie lemongrass tofu banh mi

The BEST banh mi we've ever had. The bread was insanely fresh and soft but had the perfect crispy crunch on the outside. It was like a cloud! Came here on a whim and we'll definitely be back! I had the lemongrass tofu and he had the brisket. They were both phenomenal! The thai iced tea was also in a league of its own. The veggie spring rolls were flavorful and bright. 100/10!

Foods are delicious and services are excellent! I have been here three times. Today, I tried the garlic shrimp vermicelli, and it tasted so refreshing and yummy with apple in it.

Pho is incredibly delicious and tops on my list of favorites.

I had been looking forward to eating here for months before I finally visited. I am pleased to…read morereport tasty food, great service from friendly servers, a clean bathroom, and walls brimming with beautiful paintings with scenes of Vietnam. Upon stepping foot in Phở Quê Hương, I was transported back to Vietnam (or Orange County, California-- have your pick). Phở Quê Hương is located in Honolulu's Chinatown, so we get an interesting demographic mix of diners. (I believe I observed at least one Hoa family order in Vietnamese and then converse in a Chinese language.) I wasn't so attentive to the precise linguistic profiles of my fellow diners because of how distracted I was by the food. However, it is a salient pattern I am observing in Honolulu: seeing many non-Viet people coming to eat Viet food. I know Vietnamese cuisine has become more globally mainstream, but I suppose I am so used to existing in Vietnamese ethnic enclaves. The menu offers a great selection of Vietnamese food, including dishes I had never had before. The bún chả Đà Nẵng is not at all similar to a bún chả Hà Nội, so don't get them mixed up! Bún chả Đà Nẵng was more like a bún riêu without the riêu: a nice tomato soup with a serious umami flavor going on. (I was getting notes of cheese even, in a really good way.) My first time having a non-vegetarian bò lá lốt was here. It was tasty, although I was getting a spicy note that I wasn't sure where it was coming from. The tràng đặc biệt was delicious and familiar. I always love wrapping things (amateurishly) with rice paper. The name "Phở Quê Hương" is apt, but it isn't just phở but rather all the dishes that feel like they arrived straight from Vietnam. If you are interested in more traditional Vietnamese fare, give this place a try.

I have been living in Hawaii for five years and have eaten at this restaurant countless times. But…read moreafter today, I am utterly disgusted and will never step foot in this place again. Your service is absolute garbage. This morning, I called to place an order. I initially tried using Vietnamese to order two PDBs, but the woman who answered couldn't understand me. I switched to English and asked for two "Pho Combinations." She understood that, took the order, and told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. I also wanted to order Quẩy, so I asked, "Can I get one Quẩy?" Again, she didn't understand. So I clarified in English: "Add one Chinese doughnut." Guess what her response was? She condescendingly told me, "This is a Vietnamese restaurant, not a Chinese restaurant." What the hell is your problem? On your very own menu, that item is literally listed as a "Chinese doughnut." As a server, you don't even know your own restaurant's menu, yet you have the audacity to respond to a customer with such an arrogant, rude, and racially discriminatory attitude. It's disgusting. Everyone knows you are a Vietnamese restaurant. But Quẩy is widely known as a Chinese doughnut, and that is exactly how it is written on your menu. Learn your own menu. To make matters worse, when I arrived 20 minutes later, the front desk told me my phone order hadn't even been made yet and that I had to wait. What on earth was the point of me calling ahead? It's a complete joke. If you are going to be this arrogant and rude, and if you hate Chinese culture so much, why is your restaurant located in Chinatown? Why don't you move to a Vietnamese neighborhood? This is Chinatown. This restaurant has incredibly low-quality staff and a glaring issue with discrimination. It is absurd that an employee can work here without even knowing the menu. To openly disrespect and discriminate against Chinese customers--when you are located in Chinatown and 80% of your repeat customers are Chinese--is pathetic. Take your business elsewhere.

I heard they will keep this space for special events. The restaurant is quite busy and I'm glad we had reservations. Good thing I was there prior to lunch hour opening, otherwise we may lose our reservations since the person who made reservations tends to be habitual in arriving late. We dined in May, but it's been awhile since I first dined here. I preferred dining in Chinatown during lunch time than at dinner. Our waiter was really nice and helpful. I forgot his name, but I remembered that his eyeglasses that he wore was cool/funny, since the frames for each eye didn't match the other eye! lol. Funny it wasn't me who first noticed it. One was square frame and the other was a round frame! The restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays except may write Happy Birthday in chocolate on the dessert plate that you purchase for the birthday person. Their desserts are unique and refreshing. I think there are some rotating desserts /flavors like their seasonal menu for their main menu. I guess you can always keep coming back without being bored of the menu! I was bummed to see a previous dish posted of a pasta that I wanted to try that wasn't on the current spring seasonal menu! When we dined for brunch over the weekend, I was able to get the Hainan chicken with the crispy roast pork combo. It was very filling , tasty and satisfying. I do love ginger sauce on the cold ginger chicken but sometimes the chicken is just okay. This Hainan chicken was really good and the chicken was really moist! I thought it was the best I've tried! It was good that I wanted to takeout one last time in August before they moved! No more the 50/50 combo with the crispy roast pork on the lunch menu during the weekday. It was on the spring menu. Of course it's best to eat it in the restaurant than for take out. Bathroom is a must for me when dining out and they had only one shared bathroom for everyone! There was a guy who tried to make several attempts but wasn't successful, since there was always someone in the restroom. I'm glad the waiter told me there was a bigger separate bathroom with several stalls for men and ladies upstairs. You go straight through the kitchen to catch the elevator and to another kitchen /storage area! Thank Goodness! Best wishes at your new location. You offer yummy and tasty food!

We came around 5:30 on a weekend and there were a few tables already seated. For an appetizer, we ordered summer rolls which come 2 to an order and the owner said rather than ordering 2 orders (since I wanted shrimp and my husband wanted tofu), he offered to do one order with one shrimp and one tofu. Wrapped in rice paper with fresh mint, sprouts, lettuce, and vermicelli they were delicious. The best part was their special peanut sauce, which was a generous and oh so tasty! I had a small bowl of pho with sliced steak which came with a heaping side of fresh basil, sprouts, lemon, and peppers. My husband had a tofu stir fry which was so big, he took half of it home. Both dishes were very good. While we were eating, the phone was constantly ringing with take out orders and a steady stream of people coming it to pick up their food. It was obvious they were repeat customers and chatted warmly with the staff there. By the time we left, the restaurant was filling up. I can see why since the food was delicious, prices reasonable, and service exceptional. We will be back!

When we arrived, we were the first guests so got to pick our table. When we sat down at the pretty wooden booth, there was a happy hour menu on the table. What?!? And YAY!! There was a 2-for special on the cocktails and you could select from the full menu which featured an extravagant and eclectic selection. There were wine and beer specials too but we were here for the cocktails. From the happy hour menu, we ordered the vegan spring rolls, chicken wings, and the Bo Ne Steak--a Vietnamese breakfast with bone marrow, cubed steak, sunny side eggs and a baguette. I can vouch for the spring rolls, light and crunchy without being oily. I don't eat land animals but my friend said the wings were divine. And they give you gloves to eat them. So civilized (ha) and a nice touch! She loved the bone marrow and steak. There was so much food she didn't finish it so I took it home to the hubby who devoured it. No complaints and only smiles from him! I wanted to try a couple pescatarian dishes from the regular menu so ordered the lemongrass clams which was AH-mazing! Could have been my favorite dish of the night because the flavors were unexpected but undeniably good. And, the garlic salmon bun (vermicelli noodles) was fantastic. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce was savory yet light. I've never seen this option at any other Vietnamese restaurant and it certainly elevates the traditional dish which usually comes with meat, tofu, or spring rolls. (You can still order the bun with these options and they let you choose your protein combos.) Finally, (I told you there was a lot of food) we ordered the banana blossom salad. I rarely see this offering at other Vietnamese restaurants. It's hard to describe but I refer to this dish as the red-carpet version of the green papaya salad. It's more dressed up and sophisticated. A real treat and a must-have if you're dining at An Di Dzo. Parking was easy since it's at Ward (by the theaters or you can park anywhere in the village). The restaurant is clean and modern. And the service was courteous and professional. Our server Alex was great and made the evening extra special. An Di Dzo is open for lunch and dinner. They also offer some vegan options so I'll be back. Hubby enjoyed the leftovers so much he wants to give it a dine-in try. You don't have to ask me twice! Highly recommend you give them a try, too.

They have very trendy seating styles. We were seated in a wooden booth. The booth chairs were so far away from the table, there was no way you'd be able to eat without sitting on the edge of the bench haha. But very spacious for 4 people! The waitress was prompt with bringing our water, taking our order and bringing our food out. They have a little lazy-Susan style sauce/condiment platter on each table which was nice for the pho. The food was actually very tasty! I enjoyed everything I ate. Which kind of shocked me, being that town is more of a touristy area and I wasn't expecting to get decent pho! Since they're located in the same building as ward theaters, there's an entire parking structure for you to park in, for free! So don't worry about parking. If you're in the area, I'd suggest trying this place out!

Chinatown has a lot of crime and homeless in the area so I would firstly recommend to go when the market is busy! 7am-12pm is a sweet spot where the food, produce and everything in the area comes alive. I'm Vietnamese and it was a very affirming and comforting experience for me when so many other Vietnamese folks came first thing in the morning to get their grub at Thuong An Lac. That's when you know you've found THE spot. Major Recommendations: -Viet Iced Coffee (prob the best you'll find on island easily) -Beef Stew + Baguette (so HEARTY. I've had both vegan and non vegan beef stews and it's spot on) We loved everything we got there. The water they serve you has pandan in it and tastes very very good. I still think about it!! There's so much love squeezed into everything they have there. They also sell a lot of snacks that they make and it's honestly FIRE as well. A lot of customers came in for the snacks too. Parking: There's a lot of nearby parking ranging from $2-6. A lot of people opt for the Chinatown municipal parking. It'll be a bit of a walk so plan accordingly. The restaurant is small and can only have a few parties in at a time. It's no frills but feels like you're just visiting your Aunt or Grandma's house. Prices are fair, not overpriced. Fun fact, they're TOP 100 vegan restaurants in the US. You're in for a treat. Please note: they only take cash tips! Consider this if you go :)

It's tucked away in the entrance of Chinatown Market, making it a true hidden gem. My favorite is the "beef" noodle soup. The broth is incredibly rich and flavorful--you'd never guess it's completely vegan. I also highly recommend the taro spring rolls, which are crispy, delicious, and the perfect appetizer. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so it may not be able to accommodate larger groups. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. As someone who loves noodle soup, I appreciate being able to enjoy such a satisfying meal while knowing it's entirely plant-based. I'll definitely be back!

You already know the beef was good or it wouldn't get a good review from me. Got the spring rolls which was nice and hot. Wrapped the spring roll, noodles and the carrot & daikon with the lettuce and dipped it into the sauce. Winnahs. For the main entrees got the crispy fried noodles with seafood. It's like the Vietnamese version of Chinese seafood with cake noodles. Very crunchy and tasty. Lots of seafood. The other entree was the combo sizling plate. Yes, the plate was sizling. The plate had pate, sausage, meatball, beef and a fried egg. I've never tasted anything like that before. It's not the usual taste that you're accustomed to but i enjoyed it. I thought it was good. Both entrees and the salad are good serving size. I like the spring rolls and wish had more but that's just me. The service is excellent even though it was pretty busy. The waiter apologized for being late but it was quite understandable. He's so polite. The lady who might be the owner was very pleasant and personable. It was a very good experience. When I placed my order, I told the woman, "no cilantro" on anything. When I received my order, the soup was missing. When the woman brought the soup, I said again, "no cilantro." She said, yes. I paid and left. When I got home, I opened the salad and noticed a pile of basil and what appeared to be cilantro. It tasted like cilantro, too. So, I went back to the restaurant to return my order, as I no longer wanted any of it. When I got there, the woman told me that isn't cilantro, it's "culantro." She said she would refund my salad, but not the sandwich and proceeded to argue with me that she was doing me a favor because the salad did not have cilantro, even though she very well knows they taste the same. In any case, I left my entire order and was only refunded for the salad. I will dispute with my cc company. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE
