Today I did not intend to eat out, but I ended up really hungry and stumbled upon this Vietnamese restaurant. Inside, I felt comfortable, and although the place isn't huge, it was just right because I wanted to satisfy my hunger and eat quality food. Since I am so Asian, the first thing I looked for on the menu was a rice plate, and I went with the lemongrass chicken plate. It was a good-enough portion that I did not have to take out the food, and I appreciated how fresh it was. Friendly service (being the right kind of friendly goes a loong way--trust me!) But yeah this is a really good spot because tasting quality food will make a customer loyal (depends if the gas prices go down lol). But seriously, since the food did not taste super MSGy, I am definitely coming back for the Bánh mì next time because my Yelpy senses say that they're gonna taste fresh and delish! And of course, gotta try their Phở as well. There are so many Vietnamese restaurants, but I'm putting my buck on this one! Great area, too, because parking was plentiful. Then you can go for dessert right after because the Magnolia ice cream place is in the same area. I felt merry AND thankful alright! :] And sooooo I had their beef Phở on my other visit and sure enough it tasted really fresh and satisfied my craving. Their brisket Bánh mì was so satisfying to eat and every crunch was worth the palate! If you are looking for Vietnamese grub--this is the place! I seen reviews of this restaurant and it featured on news as well. One day after I finished my patient visits, decided to grab lunch on my back home. There were plenty of customers grabbing take out too. The shop is small, cozy Got the spring rolls wih shrimp to go. The worker gave me and other customers 10% off since they opened recently which was a plus for me. The spring rolls are big and filling. Very tasty. Will try the Bahi Mi sandwiches and pho next time. Parking has plenty of stalls, though very tight. The stalls facing Dillingham Ave are little wider, I would recommend parking there. read more

I happened to be picking up some shoes from the shoe repair shop close-by and noticed this place. I decided to check it out and found a small shop that was clean. It was a bit early so people were still working with supplies being delivered. I got the grilled chicken banh mi, it was $16.00 - so a bit more than I usually pay, but the ingredients sounded interesting (Apple slices, non pickled veggies, a pepper sauce), so I figured let's help out a new business. While I waited for my food to be ready, I took a look at the menu seeing I wanted to also try their Pho and other dishes. By the time I got it home it was about an hour after getting it. Haven't been here for a month and I was happy to be in the area. Banh Mi'licious did not disappoint. I had the summer roll with shrimp. Check out my photos! The portion size is huge! I love the peanut sauce with siracha but today I discovered their pickles garlic pieces! It definitely kicked it up a level. If you love garlic, it's a must. Of course I had to get a side of broth! This was one of the best banh mi I've ever had. Haha! It was so unexpected. I had the Saigon original and the meats were really flavorful, the bread was nice and toasted with chew, and it had slices of apple which I've never seen before. There's also a special going on now, so they offered like a 10% discount. I was also really impressed with how the young lady handled the homeless man that came in to buy a drink. She was kind yet cautious and still very helpful. The ambiance is very chill vibes. Felt like home. Nothing fancy. Petty basic. I felt very comfy eating alone I wasn't even expecting to go here. Opened on 2/9/26, I was excited to read other Yelper reviews of Bahn Mi'licious, a new casual Vietnamese restaurant in the Kapalama Shopping Center. Owner Jasmine Nguyen uses her traditional family recipes in offering her signature bahn mi sandwiches and 12-hour simmered pho. Also offered are summer rolls, stir-fried noodles, and rice dishes using pork chicken, beef, and vegetarian items. While the menu may be limited at this time, additional Vietnamese dishes can easily be added. Jasmine has experience in the restaurant industry offering Vietnamese cuisine. She is associated with other family members who formerly owned Ripples of Smiles when it was in Kaimuku and then moved to Kailua before it closed, as well as the current Vietnam Deli in Kailua and another Bahn Mi Licious location in Clovis CA. On the day we came, just as it opened, Jasmine welcomed us in seating us at a table; however, she noted that the "big bone" wasn't delivered, so she couldn't prepare her pho for serving. It was being delivered today, so the pho would be ready the next day. We then decided to order the lemongrass banh mi to go and return the next day for the pho. As soon as we left, Jasmine posted a note on the front entrance, noting that the restaurant was closed for the day. We returned the next day, and Jasmine assisted us again. Here's our views on what we had: * Lemongrass chicken banh mi. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The sandwich was loaded with cucumbers, carrots, sweet onion, house pickles, jalapeno, mayo, pate, cilantro, and black pepper sauce. Hubby enjoyed the house-made pate and black pepper sauce that made the banh mi delicious, and despite the generous filling, I thought the sauces made the bread chewy as you reached the middle. * Beef pho. Served piping hot, the flavorful pho included sirloin, brisket, meatballs, tendon, sliced onions, cilantro, green onions. Fresh basil, bean sprouts, jalapeno, and lemon were served to accompany the pho. Both of us enjoyed the tasty one-size pho and can see what 12 hours of simmering will do with a 5-hour rest period; however, we felt that the serving size could have been larger based on its price point. We love that the tables had condiments that could be used: hoi sin sauce, Sriacha, hot chili sauce, house-made chili oil/sauce, minced sweet onion, and a shoyu seasoning s sauce. Excellent customer service, as owner Jasmine tended to our needs. She always had a smile and appeared to be passionately happy with her new restaurant! The small clean restaurant seats 24 and has some nicely wooden-carved tables. It was interesting that jazz music was playing in the background, and Jasmine noted that it was because she loved jazz music. Nice ambiance on a casual restaurant! Hours of operation are daily 10a to 8p. Located in the same shopping center as Zippy's, Egghead Cafe, and Elvin's Bakery, free parking is available in the private lot; however, spaces are hard to find during peak dining periods due to other restaurants in the complex. Note that a 4% fee is charged if credit cards are used instead of cash. Banh Mi'Licious is a nice addition to this shopping complex. First of all, I will say that the banh mi and pho soup broth are delicious. The soup had a stronger than usual cinnamon flavor, but the onion and cilantro mellowed it out a lot. The bread they use for the sandwiches was outstanding, and toasted just right. Their choice of veggies includes slices of apples, which seemed odd but somehow works well with the pickled sliced carrots and turnip. They add a generous amount of jalapenos and cilantro as well. I tried the crispy pork version and it was indeed very crispy-skinned with tender pork underneath. The side order of broth was perfect for dipping the sandwich. I wish they would offer a combo deal like other Vietnamese restaurants. I also had their ginger lemonade. Overly sweet and the ginger was just slices of fresh ginger mixed in. It would have been better if they had muddles the ginger first and then added the lemonade and maybe some mint sprigs, too. Our server was very polite but knew almost no English, so that made it difficult for us to ask for small things, like forks. Ambiance is okay. The freshly painted cream orange walls were clean and presentable. They also have rice plates with your choice of proteins, and the full-on pho experience with side veggies. There's a new Vietnamese restaurant in the Kapalama Shopping Center where you find Zippy's. Banh Mi'licoous just opened 02/09/26 and they just had their 3 days special with 21% off. Aw I missed it by 1 day but she gave me 10% off being the 4th day. I do enjoy Vietnamese food and usually get the banh mi or the cold vermicelli with pork & spring rolls, but what caught my eye was the phonominal sautéed. Oh I really liked it! The pork and everything mixed together was so flavorful and I got the pho broth for additional $5.50. I pre-ordered on the phone which I would recommend. I did wait a couple minutes and also got the ginger lemonade! I do like ginger so it was refreshing with slice or two of ginger in the drink. The place was bright and clean. The lady, perhaps part owner was really nice while her husband or seemed like family prepared my order. Just the two of them and was happy to give my support. My mom had tried my left over and she enjoyed it. Lately she has been a picky eater. I would ordered this again! Noticed there's a 4% fee on charge card order. It's a little more than some places at 3% and my credit card has a 2.5% cash reward so I decided to pay cash lol. I really liked this dish but I look forward to trying the other menu items. Just open 5 days ago per the cashier maybe owner. Saw this place on yelp. Located in the Kapalama shopping ctr where ahi and vegetable and Elvins bakery located. Donna O. came here and took pictures on her drink and the inside and her food she bought . So today after dropping my taxes off with my cpas office we came here and ordered bahn mi sandwichs. I had grilled chicken and my husband had pork and meatloaf Saigon special bahn mi. I thought my bahn mi was good had lots of pickled vegetables like daikon, carrots cucumber. The spread they use is a homemade pate spread they put on the bottom of the baguette. Kinda like a mayo but the taste is hard to explain. My chicken was sautéed with some kind of Thai flavoring then grilled. My husband said hes one was ok. The baguette was hard and crusty should of have been a little softer. Other than this said this place just opened try them if you like pho and bahn mi sandwiches. I have been going to this restaurant since it opened in February. I don't often post reviews on yelp, but I believe that this place has the best Vietnamese food on Oahu. The owner jasmine is very kind, and you can tell that she cares about her customers and the quality of her food. It reminds me of a home cooked meal! I have tried everything on her menu, and you really cannot go wrong with anything. My favorites are the beef pho, BBQ pork or lemongrass bahn mi, and the spring rolls. You must try their lemongrass chicken banh mi! The bread is light and crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. I usually don't like banh mi because the bread is thick so I peel it off to get to the sandwich filling. I ate all the bread here and savored every bite! The pate was savory and the pickled vegetables were sweet and crunchy with just enough tanginess. I do wish there were a little more pate, chicken and vegetables however, but it was satisfying. Although it's a small dining area, it's clean and bright with a variety of seating arrangements. The service was very friendly and fast at 1:30pm. I ordered a lemongrass chicken bahn mi, stir fried noodles with pork, a side pho broth, and a ginger lemonade. Everything was wrapped with care and I made it home with all my goodies in tact! I had the bahn mi & broth. The bahn mi was excellent. The broth was also amazing with slices of onion and cilantro included. Also, it was basically a full sized soup! Randomly stopped in today for a snack and ordered the tofu summer rolls with peanut sauce, brisket pho, and a lemongrass pork bahn mi. The woman who helped us was the sweetest! Everything was so delicious and fresh. The summer rolls had pickled carrots and cucumber and were so yummy. The broth and meat were tender, rich, without being overpowering. I found this restaurant on yelp and had a pretty good rating so my husband and I went to visit it when we flew into Honolulu airport. We ordered the chicken lemon grass Bahn Mi Sandwich. It was delicious! The bread was marvelous. The ingredients were plentiful and the dressing was great. We are real Bahn Mi lovers. The sandwich was a good size. The staff is very polite and the location is high on cleanliness. We enjoyed it so much we went back on another occasion before our vacation ended. It was just as good as the first time. wow. the wife and i stopped in for a lemongrass chicken banh mi. they gave us a 10% discount. We split this banh mi and were absolutely amazed. There's a cheeky apple slice in there lol. We were debating eating A Second and maybe even a Third. But then they would have to roll us out lol. the Freaking food was so good. I bet the pho was nice too. And holy Moly the service was Lickity Split Quick. We ordered and sat down and there our Magnificent Sandwich was. As We ate we smiled and stared longingly into one another's eyes.
