Lemon grass tofu

The sandwich was tasty. The vegetables are not pickled like other places. There were apple slices also. Good amount of tofu. I was able to customize and add pate to the sandwich. The staff is really nice. There were tables available and a counter seating if you want to eat in.

Sun-Kissed Crackle Pork Banh Mi

Banh Mi'licious is a cute little Vietnamese cafe serving up excellent banh mi and pho. The menu is somewhat limited but they have everything I was hoping to find and it was one of the best banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) I've had this side of Vietnam. A lot of banh mi shops serve up sandwiches that are pretty much indistinguishable from one another, but these are different. The bread is fresh and has a wonderful texture, the veggies are cut differently, even the mayo tasted different to me. It also had big chunks of fresh jalapeño, so be advised. And the crackle pork had a crispy skin and was absolutely delicious! The place is small, but they have a few tables, the ambiance is charming, and they are very welcoming. Service was friendly, they played nice jazz music, overall it was a very pleasant experience. They are located in Kalihi in the Kapalama Shopping Center, near one of my favorite breakfast spots, the Egghead Cafe. If you love banh mi like I do, you simply must try this place!

Wanted a vegetarian banh mi. Decided to try this place and glad I did. It was a bit pricy but worth it! Service was great. Everyone there was so nice and friendly and helpful. You can eat there or take out . Gotta go back and try other items on the menu

Spring rolls with shrimp

I seen reviews of this restaurant and it featured on news as well. One day after I finished my patient visits, decided to grab lunch on my back home. There were plenty of customers grabbing take out too. The shop is small, cozy Got the spring rolls wih shrimp to go. The worker gave me and other customers 10% off since they opened recently which was a plus for me. The spring rolls are big and filling. Very tasty. Will try the Bahi Mi sandwiches and pho next time. Parking has plenty of stalls, though very tight. The stalls facing Dillingham Ave are little wider, I would recommend parking there.

Lemongrass Banh Mi and a side of broth

Haven't been here for a month and I was happy to be in the area. Banh Mi'licious did not disappoint. I had the summer roll with shrimp. Check out my photos! The portion size is huge! I love the peanut sauce with siracha but today I discovered their pickles garlic pieces! It definitely kicked it up a level. If you love garlic, it's a must. Of course I had to get a side of broth! Service was excellent. Jasmine wasn't in but there was a new server. Sweet girl, very attentive! Can't complain about the ambiance, still feels homey. I was able to do some work on my laptop. It wasn't too crowded at 5pm so I sat at the table.

I happened to be picking up some shoes from the shoe repair shop close-by and noticed this place. I decided to check it out and found a small shop that was clean. It was a bit early so people were still working with supplies being delivered. I got the grilled chicken banh mi, it was $16.00 - so a bit more than I usually pay, but the ingredients sounded interesting (Apple slices, non pickled veggies, a pepper sauce), so I figured let's help out a new business. While I waited for my food to be ready, I took a look at the menu seeing I wanted to also try their Pho and other dishes. By the time I got it home it was about an hour after getting it. It was very flavorful. A bit different with the veggies and unique pepper sauce. Now I need to go back and try there pho.

Early lunch in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawai'i... Located at Kapalama Shopping Center, Bahn Mi'licious is a cute, clean café with friendly service, pleasant music, air-conditioning, free parking, and delicious food! Jasmine greeted me right away and asked how I wanted my bread for my Bahn Mi... more crunch on the outside? Soft inside? Regular? Later, she checked on me... and after a while, the male staff took my used plate away. Thank you! Jasmine also suggested that I try the ginger lemonade... which was better than I expected! I added water to make my drink last longer... and I smashed the fresh ginger slices with my straw to make good use of the ginger! The lemongrass tofu Bahn mi had a lot of flavor from the pickled veggies and marinated tofu! The crust of the bread was crisp and light! Yum! I'm looking forward to returning!

I ordered the Lemon grass bahn mi sandwich and it was so tasty. I appreciate the veggie option. The veggie ingredients were fresh and the sauces perfectly seasoned. I would come back to try their pho.

First time and blown away with the taste of the banh mi. The baguette was light and flaky. The pork and meatloaf was balanced with picked veg and jalapeños. Service was fast. The location was convenient and the restaurant was clean and looked new. Definitely coming back to try the banh mi with lemongrass chicken.

Opened on 2/9/26, I was excited to read other Yelper reviews of Bahn Mi'licious, a new casual Vietnamese restaurant in the Kapalama Shopping Center. Owner Jasmine Nguyen uses her traditional family recipes in offering her signature bahn mi sandwiches and 12-hour simmered pho. Also offered are summer rolls, stir-fried noodles, and rice dishes using pork chicken, beef, and vegetarian items. While the menu may be limited at this time, additional Vietnamese dishes can easily be added. Jasmine has experience in the restaurant industry offering Vietnamese cuisine. She is associated with other family members who formerly owned Ripples of Smiles when it was in Kaimuku and then moved to Kailua before it closed, as well as the current Vietnam Deli in Kailua and another Bahn Mi Licious location in Clovis CA. On the day we came, just as it opened, Jasmine welcomed us in seating us at a table; however, she noted that the "big bone" wasn't delivered, so she couldn't prepare her pho for serving. It was being delivered today, so the pho would be ready the next day. We then decided to order the lemongrass banh mi to go and return the next day for the pho. As soon as we left, Jasmine posted a note on the front entrance, noting that the restaurant was closed for the day. We returned the next day, and Jasmine assisted us again. Here's our views on what we had: * Lemongrass chicken banh mi. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The sandwich was loaded with cucumbers, carrots, sweet onion, house pickles, jalapeno, mayo, pate, cilantro, and black pepper sauce. Hubby enjoyed the house-made pate and black pepper sauce that made the banh mi delicious, and despite the generous filling, I thought the sauces made the bread chewy as you reached the middle. * Beef pho. Served piping hot, the flavorful pho included sirloin, brisket, meatballs, tendon, sliced onions, cilantro, green onions. Fresh basil, bean sprouts, jalapeno, and lemon were served to accompany the pho. Both of us enjoyed the tasty one-size pho and can see what 12 hours of simmering will do with a 5-hour rest period; however, we felt that the serving size could have been larger based on its price point. We love that the tables had condiments that could be used: hoi sin sauce, Sriacha, hot chili sauce, house-made chili oil/sauce, minced sweet onion, and a shoyu seasoning s sauce. Excellent customer service, as owner Jasmine tended to our needs. She always had a smile and appeared to be passionately happy with her new restaurant! The small clean restaurant seats 24 and has some nicely wooden-carved tables. It was interesting that jazz music was playing in the background, and Jasmine noted that it was because she loved jazz music. Nice ambiance on a casual restaurant! Hours of operation are daily 10a to 8p. Located in the same shopping center as Zippy's, Egghead Cafe, and Elvin's Bakery, free parking is available in the private lot; however, spaces are hard to find during peak dining periods due to other restaurants in the complex. Note that a 4% fee is charged if credit cards are used instead of cash. Banh Mi'Licious is a nice addition to this shopping complex. Congratulations to Jasmine for her new restaurant and wish that it will be a successful venture for her! We look forward in returning to try additional menu items! Support local!

Pho'nomenal sautéed- golden pork! Yummy and flavorful! I ordered the pho broth on the side
Donna O.

There's a new Vietnamese restaurant in the Kapalama Shopping Center where you find Zippy's. Banh Mi'licoous just opened 02/09/26 and they just had their 3 days special with 21% off. Aw I missed it by 1 day but she gave me 10% off being the 4th day. I do enjoy Vietnamese food and usually get the banh mi or the cold vermicelli with pork & spring rolls, but what caught my eye was the phonominal sautéed. Oh I really liked it! The pork and everything mixed together was so flavorful and I got the pho broth for additional $5.50. I pre-ordered on the phone which I would recommend. I did wait a couple minutes and also got the ginger lemonade! I do like ginger so it was refreshing with slice or two of ginger in the drink. The place was bright and clean. The lady, perhaps part owner was really nice while her husband or seemed like family prepared my order. Just the two of them and was happy to give my support. My mom had tried my left over and she enjoyed it. Lately she has been a picky eater. I would ordered this again! Noticed there's a 4% fee on charge card order. It's a little more than some places at 3% and my credit card has a 2.5% cash reward so I decided to pay cash lol. I really liked this dish but I look forward to trying the other menu items. Just based on this dish, I'll give it a 5 stars. Please support them. Lots of free parking!

Special Bahm mi

New Vietnamese eatery in the Kapalama Shopping Center. Just opened 5 days ago. We went to try the Bahm mi sandwiches. I had the Saigon special and my wife had the Grill chicken. Sweet lady made conversation with my wife while we waited. Service was excellent. My wife and I agreed the the bread had a nice crust, but chewy. Willing to try the Pho next time Enjoy

The pho came out good, but the chicken wings had 0 flavor to it. It was suppose to be garlic butter sauce but tasted more like fryer oil then anything. Food was a 3/5. Upon finishing our food we asked for a take out container and the server said she'll get one. 5 mins went by and nothing. I went to pay at the register and asked for one there. Went and sat back down to pack up the wings to give to someone on the street. As we're sitting, I noticed one of the servers taking pictures of us from the counter. Didn't try to hide or anything. Just to make sure I moved around my head to see if she'd move and every time I moved my head she turned the camera. The same server who we asked for a take out container came up to our table and said I need to pay again because payment didn't go through. Mind you I paid cash. I then stated Oh? I paid cash? How does cash not go through? She said oh, then asked the guy who rang me up and not even an apology or anything. The whole service there was rude and just crazy. I just left and won't be coming back to this place for sure. Not authentic Viet food or service.

I heard they will keep this space for special events. The restaurant is quite busy and I'm glad we had reservations. Good thing I was there prior to lunch hour opening, otherwise we may lose our reservations since the person who made reservations tends to be habitual in arriving late. We dined in May, but it's been awhile since I first dined here. I preferred dining in Chinatown during lunch time than at dinner. Our waiter was really nice and helpful. I forgot his name, but I remembered that his eyeglasses that he wore was cool/funny, since the frames for each eye didn't match the other eye! lol. Funny it wasn't me who first noticed it. One was square frame and the other was a round frame! The restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays except may write Happy Birthday in chocolate on the dessert plate that you purchase for the birthday person. Their desserts are unique and refreshing. I think there are some rotating desserts /flavors like their seasonal menu for their main menu. I guess you can always keep coming back without being bored of the menu! I was bummed to see a previous dish posted of a pasta that I wanted to try that wasn't on the current spring seasonal menu! When we dined for brunch over the weekend, I was able to get the Hainan chicken with the crispy roast pork combo. It was very filling , tasty and satisfying. I do love ginger sauce on the cold ginger chicken but sometimes the chicken is just okay. This Hainan chicken was really good and the chicken was really moist! I thought it was the best I've tried! It was good that I wanted to takeout one last time in August before they moved! No more the 50/50 combo with the crispy roast pork on the lunch menu during the weekday. It was on the spring menu. Of course it's best to eat it in the restaurant than for take out. Bathroom is a must for me when dining out and they had only one shared bathroom for everyone! There was a guy who tried to make several attempts but wasn't successful, since there was always someone in the restroom. I'm glad the waiter told me there was a bigger separate bathroom with several stalls for men and ladies upstairs. You go straight through the kitchen to catch the elevator and to another kitchen /storage area! Thank Goodness! Best wishes at your new location. You offer yummy and tasty food!

My vermicelli dish was fine, on par with the one at P** V******, but maybe not as good as the one at K*** V********* C******. I didn't hear any complaints about the Mien Ga. The Beef Stew was petite but came with two large pieces of toasted baguette. While the servers were nice, we did order ahead of time and showed up when the Beluga app (where we ordered off of) told us to show up, but I ended up waiting 15 minutes at the restaurant later than I was supposed to get my food. Additionally, the staff seemed to forget I was sitting/waiting for my food. My suspicion is that the online ordering service isn't actively monitored and our order wasn't started until I actually showed up to the restaurant to pick up our food at the designated time. The food was okay for us. I'm a big Banh Mi fan and was looking forward to eating their Combination Banh Mi, but unfortunately the Banh Mi seemed a little rushed in preparation and lacked flavor. My husband on the other hand, ordered their Combination Pho and it absolutely did not disappoint. Although their Banh Mi was not as delicious and flavorful as I expected, their Pho was the exact opposite of that. They give you a generous amount of broth and their portions of greens was beyond enough (maybe a little bit too much for one serving). The last food item to talk about are their Spring Rolls. It wasn't anything too special compared to your usual Spring Rolls, but I will say that their dipping sauce and everything else that comes with it (rice noodles, cucumbers, cabbage, carrots) made it so that you could easily make it a meal vice an appetizer. If you're looking for a cozy place to have dinner, their space was a bit crowded but if you're okay with then this place is good. Just be warned that their prices are a little bit on the higher side in my opinion and be prepared for long wait times to receive your order.
