On that day, I had arrived at about 3:30 PM and I had gotten there early because I was in between areas and I usually take public transportation so when I got there, they were courteous enough to let me sit in for an hour and a half so that I could meet up with my friend who decided to go to this place and this would be my first time having lunch at this particular place... I ordered a Thai iced tea with condensed milk. It was really good. It's not something I've ever regularly ordered but for about six dollars this was good. It was worth it. ... it wasn't too sweet. It was just right and it was quite refreshing.... Because it was a little bit warmer outside at the time this really did freshen my pallet. I felt like it was perfect because I was gonna wait there for another hour and a half for my friend to show up so it actually was one of those drinks that helped me over.... And then when she arrived, we ordered and she had the beef bowl and I had a seafood large bowl, but not with the rice noodles I decided to stick with the egg noodles ... it was a suggestion she told me to do and I was very pleased that I did do that if you like the idea of the "Saimin" take then by all means do the egg noodle with the bowl when you order it... and it's great that they give that option for the bowl... With the vegetables that they bring over the cilantro and the basil along with the bean sprouts and the sliced lemon it's just really good ... I highly recommend that I'd go there again. The ambience is really quite relaxing. When you get there you get to choose the table You wanna sit at and they're really quick with service and everyone seems to be very hospitable and nice... ... also prices are right it's really good. Our most favorite Pho spot when we are in town. Unfortunately, we live in Waianae now so we don't get to enjoy our spot as often anymore. We always get their Phonatic Meals. They have great service. My baby loves the workers there. The food is yummy. It's spacious and I love the lighting and the set up. I always call ahead to make sure there is seating because it really does get busy. I wish they were open on Sundays. lol. Especially when we are hung over LOLOLOL. Husband enjoys their pork slices. Our son & daughter is all about their beef ball pho. I love the combination. This is actually a hidden gem. The pho combo was great! You can get your size pho and a selection of one of their sides. I opted for the spring rolls. Meal was delicious and clean tasting. The lemongrass chicken and pork bowls are tasty. The pro tip is to only enjoy this restaurant through take out. While the workers are likable, service lacks on all accounts. We waited very long to be served our pho when there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant. After being served the pho, we were still missing one dish. We patiently waited, but after ten additional minutes, we had to remind them and then waited an other 5 for it to be cooked. Got spring rolls it was just ok. They didn't have pickled veggies or mint. Then I had tofu pho. What a disappointment. Usually the tofu pho has the brown tofu. This one had regular tofu which doesn't go well with pho. The soup had taste. It was like water. Yes I did eat a couple bits to see if maybe it was me but no the soup was like water. I asked the waitress if the tofu pho was a different broth and she said no. Tried my husband's broth and his had flavor. She said maybe it was the tofu that made the broth taste like water. Asked my daughter for a restaurant suggestion and she mentioned this place. She said their Pho is really good. She guaranteed me that I would like it. Well, she was right...I loved it! She ordered "#3-Steak and Brisket Pho" asking them to add the steak in the broth so I ordered the same. Two others ordered "#4-Steak and Beef Balls Pho" and my husband ordered "#24-BBQ Chicken Vermicelli". I sooooo enjoyed my Pho...I'm hooked! The broth was sooooo tasty! My daughter mentioned that Ha Long's broth is the best out of all the other Vietnamese restaurants she had tried! I ordered the large and maybe ate half so I brought home leftovers. Can't wait to eat it tomorrow! As for the BBQ Chicken, my husband gave me a few pieces to try...it was really good! He liked it but I think he may have enjoyed the few spoonfuls of my Pho more. A little over a week ago, I went to another Vietnamese restaurant and ordered Spring Rolls Lettuce Wrap that came with 6 Spring Rolls for $11.95 so when I ordered "#18-Spring Roll Lettuce Wrap" for $10.29, I didn't realize that it only comes with 3 rolls cut in half so I put in another order. This was pricey so I think I'll pass ordering this the next time. Their service was fast and staff was nice! There's a large parking lot but it's shared with other businesses so it gets pretty crowded. We parked in a stall that didn't have a 15-minute parking sign above but there's a sign on the wall with arrows that looks like it's referring to the whole row right outside of the businesses so be careful not to park there if you're planning to eat in the restaurant. The stall are also marked 30-minute parking but the paint is fading. It's kind of hard to see so is it 15 or 30 minutes? The sign also informs everyone that it'll be towed so we ended up moving our car in the middle part of the lot. read more

This name kinda was stuck in my head because I knew someone who says he works here and after taking mom to Marukai we both were "hungry" lol and was craving something else and having still recovering from a cold I though that Pho would be better and instantly thought of Ha Long since it was just down the street. Yes located right in Waiakamilo Shopping Center parking of course is free and I never have problems finding a spot here I just love the convenience. The restaurant itself is cute with letter spelling various menu items scattered around the walls and windows it's cool that they do have a few seating outside as well. Their menu is done with QR but have physical menu as well which was greatly appreciated especially for mom that still can't quite work that is just too small to read. I already knew what she wants...spring rolls and it comes with all the bells and whistles of lettuce, vermicelli noodles, cucumber, sprouts and dipping sauce we got three pieces cut if half ahhh the crunch fest begins!! Besides the various meat pho it's nice to see they do have plain, chicken, tofu and vegetable pho and the vegetable had cabbage, broccoli and tofu with all the standard sides as well. For myself I decided on a cold vermicelli bowl which comes with noodles, sprouts, peanuts and veggies. My usual topping is spring rolls though since we got that as our appetizer I decided to get the Lemon Grass Chicken which actually is so yummy and flavorful on quick pic and the fun begins...load the sauce and a quick toss woohoo!!!! We ordered takeout a couple nights ago and can't stop thinking about it. I had the pork bahn mi sandwich combo for myself and my other half had the lemon grass chicken combo. We were both in heaven! The pho broth is so flavorful that dipping the sandwich in the pho broth takes it to another level. The bread is so soft and you can definitely tell it's homemade. We also ordered a couple phos too that did not disappoint... believe me when I say, super onolicious! But other than the food, the service was top notch! The gal that took my order misunderstood and added an extra pho. When my bf went to pick up the order and noticed there was an extra, he let her know and called me. I heard the entire interaction between the 2 of them, and she was so polite and accommodating. She quickly removed the extra pho from our order and I wanted to commend her professionalism. I know it was a misunderstanding, but she was extremely kind and didn't make us (me) feel dumb. I miss this type of service. After Halloween hang over. Pho was on my mind for breakfast. Driving around Kalihi, found my self parked in Ha Long's parking lot which is shared with many businesses in area so parking can be tight. They opened at 10am. They put tables outside for people wanting to dine outside. We sat inside, no greeting upon entering. First thing I noticed was the flooring. It's gross and it's concrete painted black. We were seated at a booth and all the menus were provided by QR code. Our table felt sticky. I didn't feel clean in the restaurant. Spring rolls were good. Regular. Nothing special. The lettuce for my spring rolls were a little brown and wilted. My pho combination was good. The broth was nicely flavored! The pho really saved their review from me, I'll tell you that much. 2 stars for the pho. The pho veggies weren't fresh, it also wasn't rinsed good! There was dirt still on the leaves and some were brown leaves. Thai tea had black things floating in the drink. It didn't taste that good. Taste like it's pre-made from a can. As we left the restaurant I turned back to see if they noticed us leaving, they did! They just stared. None of the 2 girls working said a "bye" or "thank you" or anything. Won't be back. read more

A couple of days ago it was a chilly night so we decided to get pho to go. I tried calling many times & for some reason no one was picking up. When we finally just decided to drive there, they weren't even busy. One girl was literally sitting by the phone while the other 2 girls was sitting down mak I ng sauce or napkins. I was already irratated when I seen that because I would have understand if it was busy. But it wasn't. I put in our order & waited outside. It didn't take that long to make mostly that everything is separated. We ordered 1 large combo,1 large meatballs & 1 large meat ball & beef, 1 summer rolls & 1 spring rolls. When we got home. I feel that takeout is less or is it just because it's not in a bowl. It always doesn't taste the same at dinning in but we didn't feel like dinning in. We use to like this place because they gave us the most meat than other pho places but when we counted the meat it only had like 6 pieces. We usually would get like 8 or 9 pieces from the last time we dined in. The spring rolls & summers rolls also has gotten much smaller for the price going up. We came here at night & they have lots of parking. We just parked in the vet stall(they were closed) & it was gonna be fast. Would I come back? Probably not for awhile. read more

A nice takeout spot! I ordered the combo pho. It was about an hour before they were going to close, and there were quite a few parties dining inside...as they should! Ha Long Pho Noodle House is really great! I haven't had take out pho in a while, but I recently bought 60 oz bowls and wanted to test it out if it could fit ramen/pho takeout :) Takeout packaging was really nice. Thanks to Matt for just helping me bag it when I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay the extra $0.50. Matt helped prep my order well. Included the utensils, hot sauces, bean sprouts, etc. I'm glad the raw meat was individually packed in saran wrap to separate from the cooked items. For the most part, we always order out from this location, but we've eaten here a few times. I normally order steak pho with beef ball but I decided to order the Ha Long noodles with egg noodle because someone else was eating it. I thought it would have more of a saimin or a Ramen texture for the egg noodles but it was really more so much like a very thin ramen noodle that was hard to loosen in the broth. It was rather clumpy and stuck together and I often took bites of the noodle rather than slurp. The broth was OK, but it really was lacking in salt. I guess it's better than having more salt, but it was definitely lacking a little bit of flavor today. The additional toppings definitely make The noodles much more tastier, I love the bean sprouts! I often put them in first so they soften a bit but still have that crunch! The addition of culantro (fish mint) as well as Thai basil adds dimension to the dish. I really wish they had lime rather than lemon but that's just me being picky. I always put about 5 scoops of the chili sauce in the broth because I love a good kick! My boyfriend ordered the French coffee with condensed milk, and he said that it tasted good. I don't drink coffee, but I took a sip and it tasted pretty decent with the condensed milk. It really cut the bitterness of the coffee. But I'm not really a coffee drinker so I'm not critiquing the coffee. I've made pho at home, and it was very time consuming.
