    Dinner! Sunday March 15, 2026
    Tod K.

Sunday March 15, 2026. We came here for dinner on a Sunday. Metered street parking or they a have a small private parking lot. It was empty inside at the time we came here. We ordered and the food came out shortly after one by one. Food is still the same good taste like before. Just the prices is higher like every place else. Ambiance is casual and comfortable as they renovated the inside a while back. Looks like except for the blue ceiling or I could be wrong. Lol. This was the old Tanoue's Saimin from what I remember. We will be back again.

Nice casual ambience restaurant serving good food, good service, and at a reasonable price. Been coming here for years and they've always been consistently good. Strongly recommend checking them out.

When I am in Kapahulu this is my go to Pho spot. Reliable flavors and good amount of food. Their oxtail pho is also really good. Service can be a little slow at times but usually quick for lunch time.

Excellent beef. 7 course beef recommended for parties. Stone pot fish, savory tender and the sauce is perfect with rice. Will eat again.

Located on Waialae Ave, with parking in the back of restaurant. I had the combination sandwich the bread was nice and crispy and soft inside which was very good, but the meat was a long piece running throughout the sandwich which make it hard to eat because when you bite into it the whole piece of meat starts to come out, other than that the sandwich had fresh vegetables and fresh jalapeño peppers which was great. The sandwich could use a little bite more flavor. My wife had the Tendon Pho which was very good and the chucks on tendon were large and cooked right and the soup stock also was very good. The summer roll was good and the peanut sauce was tasty. The restroom is outside of the restaurant, you need to go around the building on the parking lot area and you also need a key for the men and women's restroom. There is no wheelchair ramp, so you need to go up 1-2 steps and take your wheelchair inside.

We walk past super pho at least two times a week and finally stopped in on a search for pho on a chilly January evening. The restaurant was busy, but the servers attentive, filling our water frequently and taking our order within minutes of being seated. They're a cute, family owned establishment with a nice variety of menu items for both meat eaters and animal lovers alike, at prices comparable to most Vietnamese restaurants in the area. My honey and I ordered the combination pho, and spring rolls, which were plenty to feed two. Everyone else in the restaurant was walking out with takeout boxes, so all the dishes were generously sized. Word of caution, they do sprinkle peanuts on a few dishes, especially the dry appetizers/mains so if you have an allergy, be sure to check first!

Loved our experience at Super Pho on Waialae. The parking was located right behind the building and easy to find. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant that was really welcoming and bright inside. Nice large room with lots of seating. We were greeted quickly and the staff were really nice and gave up great tips. These meals are huge! Full of flavor and tons of ingredients. There's so much to choose from so we will definitely have to come back and try more. The crab meat soup was piping hot and had so much lovely crab flavor and filled with meat. I liked that you could add your own spices and vegetables too. The crepe was unique and cooled really well. I liked that the egg was a little crispy and you would eat it up with the lettuce wraps and herb and vegetables filling. So good.

Friendly and clean environment. The parking lot in rear is limited, so you will probably have to find street parking. The beef salad needed to be cooked a little bit more (the beef) because it was just too raw for salad. Maybe it would be ok in pho since the hot soup will cook it more. I asked to cook it a bit more and they did. The spring rolls were good and had more in it than other places I've been too.

It feels like one of those places that has become trendy because someone on Instagram popularized it. The sandwich was good but not great. The lettuce was turning brown. In my opinion, a really great sandwich excels because you can taste the quality, freshness, and flavor of its individual ingredients. In my sandwich, the turkey was flavorless and it felt like they used a strong, heavy sauce to give it flavor, which to me does not make for a foodie destination, $15+ sandwich. Māla Market in Hawaii Kai remains, by far, my favorite sandwich. And given how long Sprout took, I could've driven to Hawaii Kai, gotten my sandwich, and driven back in less time.

It was also super tasty with the roasted garlic mayo and pesto. Definitely a go-to sandwich order that I am looking forward to getting again!

The sandwich itself was satisfying, but it was missing one thing: flavor from seasoning. Everything tasted fresh, yet somewhat bland because there was little to no seasoning to bring the ingredients together. My biggest disappointment was the bread. Growing up with Capriotti's back in Delaware, the rolls were a huge part of what made the sandwiches special. The rolls at this location just aren't the same. They're soft and remind me more of the standard hoagie rolls you can pick up at a supermarket rather than the distinctive rolls I remember from back home. Overall, the ingredients are fresh and the service was good, but the lack of seasoning and the difference in the bread keep this from being the Capriotti's experience I was hoping for. Not a bad sandwich by any means, just not quite what I remember from Delaware.

It's such a neat take to have char siu in a croissant. We are used to having it in the doughy bao bread but in a croissant, savory with a crunchy outside tastes so much better. Started by award-winning chef and restauranteur Kelvin Ro in 2002, this popular restaurant is known for its "grab-and-go" market with bakery and deli; and a grill serving local-style plate lunches and burgers. It offers a mix of fresh, local Hawaiian food with casual, quick-service atmosphere, popular with locals and tourists for its fresh, reasonably priced meals and baked goods. The grab-and-go offerings include gourmet deli, house-roasted meats, entrees, salads, sandwiches, soups, and desserts. Non-food merchandise includes creative note cards and freshly made lei. (their lei appear pricy). They also collaborate with other companies to offer taro chips and ice cream. The bakery's popular items include its blueberry cream cheese scones, lemon crunch cake, and Diamond Head torte. The grill has a takeout window and offers upscale local Hawaiian fare with charbroiled and grill services. The items we've tried are: * Blueberry cream cheese scones. Best scones I've ever had! Huge, flaky, moist tender with pockets of solid cream cheese and juicy blueberries make this a popular item! * Lemon crunch cake. The original layered lemon cream cake with toffee bits, with the rumor being a former employee used the same or similar recipe at Aiea Bowl. I still say that this cake at Diamond Head Bakery has more whipped cream, lemon cream, and toffee bits than at Aiea Bowl. * Teri chicken plate. Marinated chicken thighs and glazed with a sweetened Japanese style teri sauce and served with white or brown rice. Nice teri flavor enjoyed by locals, although not too familiar with visitors. Will try the char siu chicken sandwich or chicken plate next time, as it is not normally offered by plate lunch places. Both the grab-n-go and grill sections get busy with customers, and staff are knowledgeable about their items to answer questions produce efficient and quick service. Many appear to be long-time staff. No fancy ambiance, as space is used to display their merchandise for fast turnover. Owner Kelvin Ro has supported the University of HI's Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Diamond Head through monetary pledges in providing training to students in culinary arts. Hours of operation are 7:30a to 8p daily; award-winning breakfast items made to order (pancakes, fluffy omelets, roasted pork hash, loco moco) every Sat/Sun from 7:30a to 10:30a. Free private parking available fronting the front entrance, although cars may have some difficulty going in and out of the spaces due to congestion during peak hours.
