Spring rolls = super delicious, but kinda pricey
Jaclyn F.

I got the spring rolls and beef pho to go. It was a combination of meats and absolutely delicious. However, I was a bit perplexed to see raw meat enclosed in aluminum foil. Since I wasn't dining in, I had no idea that the broth would cook this meat on its own. Aside from the lack of education, I only have great things to say. A bit pricey but that's what you get dining in Waikiki!

Located next to Uraku Tower on Kapiolani, this is the sister restaurant of the original Pho Viet in Mānoa Marketplace. The food is solid, with classic Vietnamese staples and some luxury twists. Although the prices run about 20% higher than comparable Vietnamese spots in Chinatown. I judge pho by the broth. Both the chicken and beef had good depth, though a touch sweet for my taste. Herbs were fresh and generous,. The bún dishes were also very good: with springy noodles, well-seasoned proteins (especially the grilled pork), though the shrimp leaned a bit oily. The nước mắm was more vinegary than I prefer. The crispy noodles with stir-fried beef, seafood and vegetables really stood out. The beef and veggies were packed with flavor, served in a light, crunchy nest of fried noodles that wasn't greasy. Generous portion that can easily be shared between two. What makes this location stand out is the specialty pho menu--lobster, oxtail, filet mignon, crab, seafood--pricey but unique if you want to splurge. The dining room is spacious, with high ceilings and a clean, comfortable Vietnamese vibe. Parking is under Uraku Tower, but note the elevator hasn't worked the last 3 times I was there. Drop off elderly or handicapped guests at the guest parking ramp for easier access. Happy Eating!!

Platter was huge and came with big rice paper. Pretty good!

Friendly and prompt service. Huge space with lots of seating. Conveniently located on kapiolanj Blvd. The food was pretty good too. We tried their pho, big platter and Bun Bo Hue. Their pho had a good broth with depth and balance. Their platter was huge with lots of options to make your spring rolls on big pieces of rice paper. Their Bun Bo Hue lacked depth and flavor, and not much stuff in it either. It was a bit disappointing. The place is overpriced for what it offers honestly. I would hope to love it and have a new pho place to go to in the neighborhood, but I'm afraid that won't happen. I can't justify paying $23 for a Bun Bo Hue when the competitors around are still charging under $20. This spot has changed hands so many times, maybe if the challenging location? It would have to find ways to provide exceptional service, food and value to drive traffic.

PHO # 2 Choices

Parking right out front, there's only 5 or 6 stalls but it was all open when I arrived. I think you can also park on kapiolani on the street depending on the time. Restaurant was clean, service was on point. Value is there, the prices are competitive to other pho restaurants in the area. I had a rare steak and beef ball pho. Broth was flavorful and well balanced, I liked the flavor a lot. There was a fair but of fat on the broth but that doesn't bother me as I like it that way. I also got an order of spring rolls and those were also really good. I left overly full as I ended up eating an entire order of spring rolls and my entire bowl of pho.

Very kind and welcoming staff at this pho restaurant. The decor is bright and uplifting with murals on the walls. I liked the pho and oxtail soup. There's a huge menu variety so there's something for everyone. They also have choices of tea and drinks from Teapresso. I had to have the Vietnamese coffee and it was amazing! There's also a special if you spend over $50 you get a dessert. Free dessert is never bad! We walked over from Ala Moana shopping center but I'm pretty sure there's parking in the building.

Located ground floor of the Uraku building on Kapiolani blvd. They have garage parking under the building, but their elevator is broken, so if you cannot walk up the stairs, before going down into the parking garage they have a drop off area were you can drop off people or if you are having a party drop off your stuff, so you don't have to carry it up the stairs. I had the papaya salad with shrimp, if you don't like spicy stay away from this dish, even if you ask for less spicy it is still on the spicy side. I like spicy so it was good and fresh and the green papaya and spices and shrimp were delicious. Restrooms located in the restaurant Good for large group & parties They accept charge cards, but add the service charge for using the credit card.

Dinner in Honolulu, Hawaii... When I saw Donna O.'s First To Review for this location of Pho Viet at Ala Moana, I thought it would be appropriate to go with Irene since we had been at this restaurant in the past - when it had a different name. Parking underground is free in the Uraku Building. Enter from Kapiolani Boulevard. Just note that the elevator that goes up to the restaurant from the parking lot needs to be repaired. The menu is very extensive - maybe because it's connected with the Manoa Marketplace location of Pho Viet? Service was efficient and welcoming. We were the only customers because it was before the dinner crowd. The interior looks like it hasn't changed from the previous owner. It's still clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. I wasn't too hungry, so I got Summer Rolls. They were fresh and rolled tightly! The wrapper wasn't too thin, dry, nor mushy! Everything stayed intact, even though I used a lot of the thick peanut sauce on the rolls! We had a nice conversation, but noticed some flies hovering around. Even though it was indoors, and the doors were closed, we wondered where the flies came from... haha! Then, we noticed the flytrap hanging from the tangerine tree in the corner... LOL!

ComPHOrting... Check out Pho Viet located right in the midst of Kapiolani in the Uraku Tower but don't let this condo deter you as you need to do is go down the driveway and you'll be impressed to see the amount of free parking available here that's just so convenient with a twist since the elevator access is still broken so just walk up the stairs and there you are! Everything here looks so comforting from seven choices of banh mi to lobster pho and even an entire Teapresso menu all under one roof is found here is something that just didn't expect to find is like the end of the rainbow. After a stressful long week filled with very little sleep I did feel the exhaust building up and while Nadine perfectly suggested coming to Pho Viet second location after losing Pho Dynasty I was excited to give them a peek. Walking in the vibe was exactly as the former left it with the wall art and table settings as we selected a table in the back near a small private room and as I glanced at the menu was surprised to see the entire Teapresso drink menu including to build your own drink type...do you think it comes in the cup as well? Not sure as I was feeling weathered today it was Pho sure..Pho! What I really wanted was the yummy comforting broth as I know that I'll have a whole bowl of that and they didn't disappoint as it was nice and steaming hot filled with veggies as I feel better with each sip the staff here is so nice and friendly I can see myself coming back as pho real it's the best remedy. Thank you!

Pho tai
Ashley P.

Conveniently located near my workplace, Pho Viet suffices the ever so often cravings of pho. My usual is pho tai and everything else I've ordered in the past has been nothing short of amazing. The broth is bomb, love how they give a generous amount of sides, and their menu consists of a variation of everything, including drinks! The place is huge, bigger than your average pho spot so that's a plus. A lot of people on their lunch break are seen here, which is nice! The service is always okay, maybe because they lack speaking English but I'll take that over rude service any day.

Specials 2/5/25

Pho Viet has a new Ala Moana location besides their restaurant in Manoa. I believe they took over right after Pho Dynasty the next day 2/1/25. You won't be able to tell too much, since the interior hasn't changed. On the outside has a sign with My Hao or Pho My Hao covering the old sign but the lady worker said the sign will come off soon. I was a little confused at first if this is the new restaurant name or Pho Viet. As I was entering it in Yelp, she typed it in the Restaurant name, Pho Viet Ala Moana. I haven't been to their Manoa location yet so the worker was nice and patient as I was making my decision. So many choices to choose from but I since I love pork in banh mi sandwiches, I ordered the bbq pork banh mi and bbq pork roll. I was going to save half of the banh mi for mom later but the bun was so warm like it came out of the oven, I ate it all ! The pork was tasty with some cucumber and parsley? Some other places may have more veggies but the sandwich was flavorful in the nice warm bread! The bbq pork roll was good too and I shared with mom. It maybe better with the sauce but my mom and I didn't use it and both liked it. I'm glad they have pork since I can't have shrimp. I found out the spring rolls have variety of protein inside including the shrimp. Good to know and if you can't have shrimp , there's a vegan spring roll. Although I did only take out, the lady was so helpful! There was a family having a meal when I was there but they could use more customers. Now I have the phone number, so next time I can call in the order. They still have the same specials from when I went there last week before the change order. The elevator is still not working, but can walk up the stairs or can walk up the ramp. Perhaps can drop off those who may not be able to walk up the stairs at the loading zone on the restaurant level before parking in the basement. At least there's a lot of parking and the restaurant is pretty big. Hope they do well!

Lily H.

Decent pho place next to ala moana. Staff is nice and the restaurant is a good size. The Wagyu pho broth was pretty good though the noodles were soggy. Pad Thai was ok and the starter rolls were also decent (though expensive). The iced Viet coffee was disappointing - seemed like they barely used any coffee. Wasn't strong enough at all. Overall good - would be back for pho.

Special Banh Mi
Amy F.

Lots of free parking! The restaurant is large and roomy with large monitors showing street food in Vietnam which was cool to watch. The special banh mi had a mild taste with a great fresh crunchy bread. The beef bone was a bit tough even though they provide you with scissors. They might consider providing a serrated scissors or knife instead of just regular scissors to cut it. The pho broth was flavorful with soft noodles. We were the only ones in the restaurant on a Saturday at lunchtime so service was fast. Since they've only been open a few months they might want to advertise more on social media so diners are aware of their presence.

Jon E.

Wanted to like this place, as saw good reviews, but my oxtail soup experience was far from great. For $26, I would expect more than 3, spoon sized pieces. On top of the small pieces, it was tough, and not much meat. Broth was decent and flavorful. The side order of vermicelli they gave was not the pho type, so was little disappointed with that.

The food is unbelievable! Sometimes there's a line out the door, but the team is efficient--so always wait! This location is in Chinatown on Maunakea. If you're lucky, you can snag a metered parking spot nearby. Pho Que Huong is super clean, and I love how they decorate for holidays. Family-owned, this local business is very welcoming. Plenty of tables. Clean restrooms for paying customers. The food and drink are made with utmost care. The produce is always fresh and clean. The pho broth is unmatched. Not too sweet, lovely and aromatic. Portions are generous for the price point. Vietnamese coffee is a must! Strong and sweet--yum! The spring rolls even taste "healthy" here in that they're not too oily, and made with fresh ingredients. The customer service is always on-point, whether eating in or taking out. Note: They do not offer XL size for takeout. I think it's sweet they don't advertise otherwise, since they don't have the proper containers for that amount of food. The service here is quick and efficient. And even though they can get really busy at times, they're still cranking out the food and beverages in a timely manner. As for the food, it's definitely comforting and delicious. The different pho broths (chicken, beef, etc) are all just right, not too oily, not too salty. I didn't even have to add in any condiments to enhance the flavor. The Banh Xeo is a huge portion, that can be shared amongst a party of 2-4. Street parking is located right out front, there's also a parking structure out back, with an entrance into the establishment directly from the parking structure. I will definitely be coming back here for more!

Good thing I was there prior to lunch hour opening, otherwise we may lose our reservations since the person who made reservations tends to be habitual in arriving late. We dined in May, but it's been awhile since I first dined here. I preferred dining in Chinatown during lunch time than at dinner. Our waiter was really nice and helpful. I forgot his name, but I remembered that his eyeglasses that he wore was cool/funny, since the frames for each eye didn't match the other eye! lol. Funny it wasn't me who first noticed it. One was square frame and the other was a round frame! The restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays except may write Happy Birthday in chocolate on the dessert plate that you purchase for the birthday person. Their desserts are unique and refreshing. I think there are some rotating desserts /flavors like their seasonal menu for their main menu. I guess you can always keep coming back without being bored of the menu! I was bummed to see a previous dish posted of a pasta that I wanted to try that wasn't on the current spring seasonal menu! When we dined for brunch over the weekend, I was able to get the Hainan chicken with the crispy roast pork combo. It was very filling , tasty and satisfying. I do love ginger sauce on the cold ginger chicken but sometimes the chicken is just okay. This Hainan chicken was really good and the chicken was really moist! I thought it was the best I've tried! It was good that I wanted to takeout one last time in August before they moved! No more the 50/50 combo with the crispy roast pork on the lunch menu during the weekday. It was on the spring menu. Of course it's best to eat it in the restaurant than for take out. Bathroom is a must for me when dining out and they had only one shared bathroom for everyone! There was a guy who tried to make several attempts but wasn't successful, since there was always someone in the restroom. I'm glad the waiter told me there was a bigger separate bathroom with several stalls for men and ladies upstairs. You go straight through the kitchen to catch the elevator and to another kitchen /storage area! Thank Goodness! Best wishes at your new location. You offer yummy and tasty food!

When we arrived, we were the first guests so got to pick our table. When we sat down at the pretty wooden booth, there was a happy hour menu on the table. What?!? And YAY!! There was a 2-for special on the cocktails and you could select from the full menu which featured an extravagant and eclectic selection. There were wine and beer specials too but we were here for the cocktails. From the happy hour menu, we ordered the vegan spring rolls, chicken wings, and the Bo Ne Steak--a Vietnamese breakfast with bone marrow, cubed steak, sunny side eggs and a baguette. I can vouch for the spring rolls, light and crunchy without being oily. I don't eat land animals but my friend said the wings were divine. And they give you gloves to eat them. So civilized (ha) and a nice touch! She loved the bone marrow and steak. There was so much food she didn't finish it so I took it home to the hubby who devoured it. No complaints and only smiles from him! I wanted to try a couple pescatarian dishes from the regular menu so ordered the lemongrass clams which was AH-mazing! Could have been my favorite dish of the night because the flavors were unexpected but undeniably good. And, the garlic salmon bun (vermicelli noodles) was fantastic. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce was savory yet light. I've never seen this option at any other Vietnamese restaurant and it certainly elevates the traditional dish which usually comes with meat, tofu, or spring rolls. (You can still order the bun with these options and they let you choose your protein combos.) Finally, (I told you there was a lot of food) we ordered the banana blossom salad. I rarely see this offering at other Vietnamese restaurants. It's hard to describe but I refer to this dish as the red-carpet version of the green papaya salad. It's more dressed up and sophisticated. A real treat and a must-have if you're dining at An Di Dzo. Parking was easy since it's at Ward (by the theaters or you can park anywhere in the village). The restaurant is clean and modern. And the service was courteous and professional. Our server Alex was great and made the evening extra special. An Di Dzo is open for lunch and dinner. They also offer some vegan options so I'll be back. Hubby enjoyed the leftovers so much he wants to give it a dine-in try. You don't have to ask me twice! Highly recommend you give them a try, too.

Popped in to An Di Dzo randomly while walking around Ward on a random Wednesday night! The place…read morewas more than half full but we were able to be seated right away. They have very trendy seating styles. We were seated in a wooden booth. The booth chairs were so far away from the table, there was no way you'd be able to eat without sitting on the edge of the bench haha. But very spacious for 4 people! The waitress was prompt with bringing our water, taking our order and bringing our food out. They have a little lazy-Susan style sauce/condiment platter on each table which was nice for the pho. The food was actually very tasty! I enjoyed everything I ate. Which kind of shocked me, being that town is more of a touristy area and I wasn't expecting to get decent pho! Since they're located in the same building as ward theaters, there's an entire parking structure for you to park in, for free! So don't worry about parking. If you're in the area, I'd suggest trying this place out!

We came here on a rainy day. Right away, a woman greeted us and clarified that their restaurant is…read morevegan. She served us iced tea instead of water, a nice change. We ordered banh mi, rice noodle w bbq pork and spring roll, and banh bao. The food came out really fast and was beautiful and delicious. The vermicelli was the best - I could eat that every day. We were both stuffed when we left. We took the bus so I'm not sure about parking. The dining room is modest with just a few tables, nothing fancy. Those are usually the best places anyway.

You got plenty to choose from even with picky eaters so you're going to find something for everyone here IMO. We opted for the pho noodle soup and the dry hu tieu which is like a noodle dish with side soup. Flavors were amazing and were only enhanced with their house made lemongrass oil which you can self serve. The place is a bit small but we were lucky to get seated immediately on a Friday lunch. Would love to come back here over and over on my trip, but may have to make decisions since there's so much food to try! The restaurant is a peaceful serene like place and has that Chinatown like theme, showing maybe the age of the place so don't expect modern classy vibes. Also there may be a bit of a language barrier so if you can speak even a little Vietnamese, maybe try pulling it out. Otherwise, just point to the dish on the menu to order! They do accept card here btw. Parking is Chinatown so try the municipal lots for cheapest option, street parking is also possible.
