Tonight my nephew wanted to take me out for dinner . He suggested Hale Vietnam located next door to Duk Kee in Kaimuki 12th Ave . He was raving about their stuffed chicken wings for weeks so finally I said ok let's go . To my surprise it was really good very crispy and lots of stuffing with chicken and vermicelli noodles . I also had their Pho with rare meat and for $18.50 for a small portion it was very filling. Of course on the side they give you Beans sprouts, Jalapeño, Thai basil, cilantro and mint also lemon . Service was friendly and fast we got their around 5:30pm and when we was leaving there were customers waiting outside for a table . Support local

    Small brisket pho

Came here on a Friday night without reservations, and we were immediately seated. I've heard good things about this restaurant and was excited to give it a try. I got the small brisket pho, and even the small size was a hefty portion. The brisket was soft, noodles were a good texture, and the broth was flavorful and not overly salty. It's your typical Asian restaurant where service isn't the friendliest, but it's quick! Overall good spot for a dinner with friends. There was lots of parking in the lot across the street, but this is not always the case on Friday nights.

First time trying their Beef, shrimp, calamari fondue!! Omg so good!! All the ingredients are so fresh. The broth got better and better towards the end! We definitely order this again! Fondue became our favorite!! Love their fast service!

This is the pho place I visit when I'm in the Kaimuki area. They have a good sized menu. They did raise their prices. We ordered summer rolls & a large combination pho that we shared as I wasn't that hungry, I just wanted the broth. Seating area is spacious. Lots of parking outside in the municipal parking lots or there is street parking.

Chicken Sour Soup with bac ha

Work lunch Wednesday was enjoyed at Hale Vietnam. A hole in the wall that is quite unappealing from the outside but spacious and bustling on the inside. Our party of 6 was seated immediately right before 12. I had been eyeing the menu since my recent calorie deficit diet required well...not my usual cold vermicelli noodle dish with imperial rolls and lemongrass chicken. I found a Vietnamese sour soup section that sounded delicious and low calorie but there was only one picture of the chicken sour soup from 13 years ago. I couldn't tell what was in it and the menu mentioned pretty normal stuff so I decided to go with the vegetarian sour soup. When I got my dish it was the chicken version which wasn't a bad thing I just didn't eat any of the chicken. During the meal I kept trying to figure out what this strange green vegetable was that I have never had. It was soft but not green squash soft, but also spongy. I finished as much as I could but ended up taking a full container home. The flavor was a perfect sour, it was definitely piping hot, and there was a soft licorice taste (possibly some herb). Very delicious! I asked the waitress what that vegetable was and she said "bac ha" or taro stem. It's also know as elephant ear stem. The dish was special and honestly nothing I have ever had. I am so glad I tried it and this is probably my new favorite hot and sour soup dish!

Pho is good. Quick service. Plenty of tables to dine in. I got the large bowl pho for take out and ate half for lunch. The flavor is there but a little lite.

My favorite is pho , pho noodles here are good. One of my favorite is combo pho beef tripe, spring roll , summer roll. Sometimes when they're busy , services can be a bit slow. But what restaurant isn't when it's busy. I guess they're short handed, very clean restaurant too.

Ordered pho to go over the phone. The person taking out order was helpful and efficient. Parking was a little hard to find on the street but we got lucky. The pho was great! Really good flavor and served with the mint, sprouts, lemon and sauces. My husband got the combo pho and my son got the chicken pho. Everyone loved theirs and was not disappointed with flavor. They gave a lot and prices were reasonable for what they served. We will definitely come back!

Tasty food with large portions! Solid option when you're craving authentic Vietnamese food. Large restaurant with plenty of seating to accommodate large parties. I rest calling and making a reservation if you have a large party. They also have a bar! Plenty of parking in the shared lot behind restaurant. Staff is friendly and attentive.

Large steak pho - Clear, delicious broth, bouncy noodles, and balanced portion of steak
    Irene Y.

This is one of my pho go-to's, when I'm in the area and don't feel like going into Chinatown. The pho broth has always been a hit, and never needed to be doctored with the usual Hoisin and Sriracha... not for me anyway. The noodles were bouncy and there just enough steak slices to balance the meal, and I was able to finish my large bowl, full and satisfied. I decided to splurge and ordered these boneless chicken wings, that was stuffed with ground pork too and that was fried goodness. The tart fish sauce brought a brightness to each crunchy and savory bite. I only come here after I get paid, though... the prices are a bit steep considering what other places charge. But, the place is clean, has a restroom INSIDE the restaurant that doesn't look haunted, and the service is all right. Not rude but not friendly, which is fine by me.

The food here is good but it doesn't stretch into the great category. We tried this place once long ago and I remember thinking the pho wasn't as good as I could get elsewhere. So, it took a long time to come back. This time we tried the imperial rolls and the vegetarian fried egg noodles with crispy noodles. The imperial rolls were delicious and came with lots of lettuce and herbs to roll them into. The noodles were quite bland and I felt like the crispy noodles weren't what I was expecting. Seemed liked it was pulled out of a package and topped with hot veggies. Everything was made to generous portions and served with a smile. But it's not something I'd crave that would make me come back soon.

So the thing about coming to Fun Station is the "suspended flying noodle thingy" which I didn't go for, but if you like Instagramable stuffs, then I supposed you would probably go for that flying-noodle dish. As for me, I mainly came to try their Minute Chicken Cake Noodles, and as a bonus......... I actually got a 20% discount thanks to my friend - Jennifer C. who let a Bruddah know about da DEALAGES in da Sunday food section newspaper, as they had a coupon! The Sunday morning when I came with my friend, I can clearly see that this restaurant was thriving, as every table in the restaurant was taken. Fun Station specializes in noodles, but if you're not into that, they do serve other items like - soups, vegetable dishes, rice plates, & porridge (jook). Upon looking over the menu, we ordered the following items - 1. Frrrrrrried Chicken Wings ($9.95) for an appetizer 2. Minute Chicken Cake Noodles ($17.95 - minus da 20% coupon DEALAGES) 3. Beef Brisket Tendon & Won Ton in soup ($18.95) What can I say about da grub??? Da chicken wings came out hot & crispy. Although they featured only "flats" vs. drums (I like drums), I must say da wings was nicely executed. As for the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles.........nicely plated on a fancy smanshy panda plate. The cake noodles weren't drowning in gravy, so the noodles stayed crispy on the dish. I really liked how they did this dish, and would easily come back here to eat it again. My friend had the Beef Brisket Tendon & Won Ton soup. The dish looked good, and there weren't any complaints, so I take it that it was pretty ono! Overall, a very satisfying meal and the service here was on point, as the staff was friendly & very efficient. Easy 5 stars for the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles! Chance 'em!

Food was promptly delivered, and staff was very friendly. It's also BYOB and there's a Foodland in the parking lot so that was a plus as we went to the store to get some alcohol. Restaurant is very casual with about 10 to 12 tables. They were pretty busy when we arrived, but they moved with the quickness to make sure everyone got their food timely. I love the presentation of the flying noodle, although I was in a fan of the dish itself as it had a little sweetness, which I wasn't a fan of. It was just OK to me. However, everything else we ate was tasty and decently priced.
