This is the first time I've tried this place. This was best Vietnamese restaurant I had in Oahu. The soups were flavorful and delicious. They serve both banh mi, pho, salad, appetizers and main dishes (shaken beef). The pho broth that comes with is the perfect level of savory and light and warm. The beef is perfectly tender, and the bread is just right balance of crunch and softness. I thought it was pretty good but it wasn't as much of a taste bud party as the pork vermicelli bowl which included spring roll, that I had before. Customer service was friendly and the place was pretty busy with people waiting for their take out orders. The drive home was fragrant and got me excited for my first bite. I thought the sandwich would have more roasted beef brisket but it was mostly bean sprouts. When I could taste the brisket, it was good but almost every bite tasted only like bean sprouts. I used up the container of their saute sauce in a few bites to try drown out the dominant bean sprout taste. Their saute sauce was quite tasty. Good thing I have a lot of saute sauce at home so I could finish the banh mi. Their broth is on the sweeter side and I liked that they have a lot of sliced onion in it. We're glad we did since the selection was very good and the dishes were five-star! They have a variety of Asian dishes, not just Vietnamese as you would think by their name. I had the salad wrap; lettuce leaf with minced pork, shrimp, bell peppers and garlic. Very tasty and healthy dish. All the ingredients complemented each other nicely. We also had the fried spring rolls vermicelli. The spring rolls were light and crispy with a good amount of filling. The vermicelli cooked well, not overcooked, and came with a their house fish sauce, very flavorful. The prices are also competitive and you definitely get your money's worth. Actually, both the stir-fried egg noodles and pho french dip were already tasty on their own, but when the staff offered chili oil, it completely elevated the flavors. It was so good that I asked if they sold it, and they do! The staff told us they make it fresh with lemongrass and chili, and they even bottled one for us. Our server, who also is the owner and chef, Kevin, graciously explained that this was his nickname given to him by his wife when he was 50 lbs heavier. I liked that the order was bigger than most other places. The beef stew with egg noodles was my dinner. I have to stay that I think this was the best one I've had. I order this at every Vietnamese joint we go to. The broth was to die for. BUT, the beef was not super tender as beef stew meat is supposed to be. However, I will still get it next time. My husband got the spicy beef dip. It was definitely spicy. This was also very good. It didn't have the pickled veggies like the typical Vietnamese sandwich but that didn't matter because it was perfect just the way it was. We also ordered for takeout the soft egg noodle tofu and vegetables for my son. He ate & asked when we going again. Haha. He did say it was a bit spicy though.
