Dined at Pepper's tonight. While the restaurant was packed it made the atmosphere too loud to be enjoyable. If you are looking for a nice night out with family this is not the place. Got little kids? Probably great for a young family. The atmosphere felt more like a bar especially given the noise level. If you are looking for a quiet dining experience this is not the place for you. No complaints about service. I did however have an issue with the food. For a seafood restaurant Lazy lobster IS NOT their specialty. At $57 the price did not match the quality. The lazy lobster was chewy and overcooked and one claw was not even edible because it was discolored and rubbery. I would have expected more from a seafood restaurant in Ogonquit. The haddock and fries were just ok. We've had better. Disappointed was the best way I can summarize our experience tonight. read more

Peppers never disappoints, this was our 2nd visit to their Ogunquit location. Again amazing food, service and setting. The menu continues to have so many wonderful choices and the food is always incredibly fresh and delicious. Leave room for dessert as they are made from a local bakery. We canot rave enough for attentive service from our server, Gretchen. She greeted us with a warm welcome, was always attentive and she even remembered our appetizer like, impressive. You can see why Peppers in Ogunquit is such a fantastic and pleasurable dining experience and that comes from the influence of their manager, Quinn. He takes the time to greet all tables, engage with patrons, assists the service staff and you can tell he thoroughly enjoys what he does. A little rough around the edges.. it was our second visit so we were hoping for a bit of improvement. The food quality is definitely average and the ambience is a little below average if you're looking for a nice dinner atmosphere .The noise coming from the bar echoes throughout the dining room and makes it hard to have a normal conversation. This could be mitigated with some soundproofing. Our waitress well seemingly very nice, was struggling to keep up with her customers. There were two managers standing by the host station, who could've easily helped her out but they seemed oblivious to the operation. probably a fun place to go for a drink and some apps, but not the best place for dinner read more

It's right next door to La Pizzeria. They did a nice job making a comfortable yet casual apace. We were able to call 30 minutes prior to arrival so they could hold a table for us. From the friendly, cordial greeting to the friendly, accommodating service, we were pleased. We ordered salads, a fried combo basket (clam strips and scallops served on a bed of fries), and mussels. Portions were generous. Their wine list offers bottles and wines by the glass. Both our wines by the glass featured reasonable pours. The combo basket featured fresh scallops and clam strips, in a crispy coating. The mussels were in a nice broth and nicely prepared and sweet. A dessert of pumpkin cheesecake was a big hit- don't miss this if it is offered. Prices were reasonable. Yet another choice for us for dinner when we visit Ogunquit. read more

If you have a food allergy I would avoid this spot. My experience here has left me extremely perplexed. I asked for a vegan burger because I have dairy allergy. My burger arrived and the bread was obviously fried in butter. When I asked if it was oil or butter on the bread- the waitress said I wrote down dairy allergy and left. My question was is this butter on the not if she told the kitchen. And she walked away. I just stared at the bread and my mom flagged another service member to check - and it was butter. I am so happy I did not eat it yet. They made me a new burger and we moved on. We believed/ wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt ... the waitress must not understand the hospital bill that would have been involved and talked to her when we got the bill. Her only response was I wrote it down and the kitchen made a mistake. What do you want her to do? It took everything in me to not say your job? We sat in awkward silence over her lack of remorse. The manager was very nice though. 1. I'm so confused why you give me something I didn't order? *****Bottom line I didn't order this and it was delivered to our table and I was expected to eat it? ****** 2. Why didn't she just check ? 3. My husband and I went on a busy weeknight during their quiz evening and sat inside for dinner. The atmosphere was fun, the server was phenomenal, the food was great! Highly recommend the firecracker shrimp for an appetizer as it is out of this world! We have a couple of drinks each, each enjoy a meal and again, the server was just amazing and I'm so upset that I can't remember her name to give her a shout out. A couple days later, we decide to go back because the food and service were unmatched by other restaurants in Ogunquit. That was a mistake. The bar and dining room was almost empty when we arrived, which was the opposite of the packed room we were previously at. After we were sat at a high top on the bar side, opposite of where we had sat previous, a gentleman asked us for our drink order and we ordered a couple drinks... I ordered a signature cocktail while my husband ordered a classic cocktail. Again, we ordered the firecracker shrimp which were just as amazing the second time and came out hot and quick. The first thing I noted was that unlike the previous female server, this male server never asked us if we wanted ranch vs blue cheese and we ended up with one of each. Our meals were delivered by kitchen staff and then we were completely ignored until another passing member of the kitchen staff asked if he could clear our plates. We quickly realized that the bartender was our waiter and while other tables were being attended to by servers, we were being ignored. No one came back, no one asked us if we wanted another cocktail. After attempting to get his attention several times and waiting for what seemed like an eternity, I stopped a passing member of the staff and asked to speak with a manager. My husband explained all this to the manager and the manager hurriedly apologized. My husband asked to pay the bill and handed her his credit card that had been out for at least 20 minutes to try to signal anyone. The bartender took a while longer, then came over with the signature slips and no itemized bill and made a snarky apology about not being able to make it back to our table. First visit was 5 stars plus; second was 0. And as irritated with our sever/bartender as I was, it's not all his fault. Bartenders should not be waiting tables when orders are coming in. Our table should have been re-assigned or handled by the manger. Management dropped the ball on this and took two extremely happy customers and turned it around in one extremely negative visit. Recognize the staff that are making the great impressions and work with those who fall short. read more

My wife and I made our annual pilgrimage to Ogunquit-our favorite destination in Maine! Not sure how we never ended up at Peppers before, but we had a really fine meal and a great time as well. We decided to be casual and sit at the bar. Our server, Lindsay, was very friendly and efficient and the service was excellent. We had a really delicious lobster dinner. They have an option where they take all the lobster meat out for you (which probably saved my shirt!). Nice wines by glass and bottle. A great mix of fine dining and relaxed atmosphere. Was looking for a place to eat dinner and watch football. Restaurant was intentionally fairly empty because theyre short staffed, which I understand. We waited to ask the bartender to change the channel on one of the TVs once he had a moment and received a very brusque "this is what's on, this is what you're watching." While I'm always empathetic to being busy and short staffed, this interaction was immediately followed by said bartender chatting it up at length with who I can only assume is a close acquaintance sitting at the end of the bar. Hey, never tried Haddock and what better place than Peppers in Ogunquit, Maine. The service is excellent and the fish and chips were amazing. Okay, maybe the "Mean Old Tom" stout and the Infused Vodka may have helped. But the food and service were good. Well worth trying while in Maine. read more

We came in from New Jersey for the Christmas prelude. We were looking for a restaurant to come to for lunch and choose to come to peppers after hearing great things about it from the hotel that we were staying at. From the minute we came in everything was exceptional. The food was amazing, the service was outstanding, and the ambience of the place fits in so well. The staff really make you feel at home and the manager definitely helped with keeping my daughter occupied with making a decoration for their Christmas tree. We decided to come back the next night for dinner and it was nothing less than amazing! We will be back next year when we come up. read more

We had a wonderful dinner at Peppers! Hostess and wait staff were friendly, helpful, and quick. Of the five deck tables only three had umbrellas but we were told a full awning is on order and soon the entire deck will be covered. Inside atmosphere was relaxed and casual, very nice. The food was excellent and service was cheery and inviting. We started with the haddock chowder, nicely seasoned and delicious. My wife had the the shrimp tacos which were properly seasoned and delicious and the fries were great! I had the grilled salmon with sweet potato fries and baked beans, again, delicious!! Just loved having baked beans (a New England tradition for sure) and both salmon and sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly! In addition to being delicious, our dinners were bountiful! A great place for casual dining! Peppers is on our list of restaurants for a great dinner in Ogunquit!! read more

Awful had to return it and thankfully we were credited.
