Had dinner with my family the day before Thanksgiving at Peaches Prime and the service and food was excellent. The space is open and modern and they have ample seating so you could dine with a large group. We tried several items and all were good with the exception of the Crispy Oysters Rockefeller. The spinach base was not tasty at all. I personally had the oxtail fettuccine as my main and it was so good. The portion size was bigger than expected. I had enough for another meal the next day. The Lewis dip and crispy calamari were hits among my family. Also the waitress started us with a complimentary sample of this fried grit app. That was tasty and the sauce was really good. Surprisingly that app was light. I'll definitely be back to try the brunch or for Happy Hour. The location is conveniently accessible by bus or train. I went in to grab some apps and a drink afterwork. I ordered Crispy Oysters Rockefeller which was so delish. I had a smoky Moscow mule that delivered (I'm picky about my drinks). I took dinner to go and ordered the oxtail fettuccine dish. I was a bit disappointed. It was more oily than I would have liked and was lacking flavor. Would I return? Absolutely. Came here around 5:30pm with a couple friends before seeing our friends perform at the Paramount down the street. We had no res, but they said if we can eat in 1 hour they could seat us immediately, which was super accommodating! Absolutely delicious foods well prepared with no overpowering seasonings. Restaurant was not crowded on a Tuesday night and we were quickly seated and orders taken. Really cool decor vibe with calming lighting. Our order was quickly prepared and served and waiters were very accommodating. One dish did have to be sent back (thus the 4 stars) because the fried fish seemed to only be fried bread crumbs and was quite hollow inside. They were very accommodating and offered an alternative dish or a refund. Since it was late in the meal and everyone was already eating, my friend opted for simply removing it from the bill. This was very disappointing that she basically could not eat with us. The other challenge is parking, which the restaurant can do nothing about. We were in luck and found an on street spot 2 blocks away but even that took several revolutions to obtain. I've been here a few times since it's opened and I've always enjoyed it! For appetizers my friends had the oysters and liked them a lot. We had the shrimp scampi as an appetizer and it was great. I can't remember what they are individually but their plates were empty! I've had the spicy rigatoni a number of times and there's a reason I keep getting it. The drinks are good, maybe a little over priced, but good! Do note that next door turns into a club around 8-9pm and the bathroom is located on the club side. There are a few Peaches Prime locations in Brooklyn, but this location you have to make reservations. The other locations you have too long to wait. My reservation was for 12:15. That's a good time to come, although it was not extremely crowded, and the crowd was mature and very diverse. The music played at a nice level, the tables and seating arrangements were very comfortable. The food was very good. It wasn't fancy or extra pretentious, instead steak and eggs were just steak and eggs. The steak was tender and the side of grits was also very good. The home fries were just OK to me, but the French toast was good as well as the fruit and granola. The food was reasonably priced and good. Much better than some of these places with all these fancy names for the same food with less flavor. Stop by for brunch @ the downtown Brooklyn location. You will be satisfied. Before I move onto my review, I want to give a BIG shoutout to our server Maya, who went above and beyond! Her vibe and energy was just everything!!! We left feeling like we made another bestie. Thank you so much for your kindness Maya! (I hope she sees this) Okay now for the actual restaurant review: Came here for the first time with a friend on a Wednesday night around 7pm and we were seated right away with no reservation. This is definitely more upscale than the usual peaches, it was actually a pretty romantic setting! Could definitely see myself having a great date night here. My friend and I ordered the Short Ribs and Grits & the Oxtail Fettuccine and ate it family style. They also brought out some polenta bites. Everything was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the Oxtail Fettuccine. The rosemary sangria was a little too sweet and that's saying a lot for me! I had to cut it with water. We had the Crispy Oysters Rockefeller - too salty, the creamed greens tasted a bit foul; mushroom paella - the rice was hard and chewy while the mushrooms were bitter; and the peri peri branzino - sauce was great, fish was cooked okay and served on a bed of sautéed cabbage that was also present in the mushroom paella - tasted oily and sour. We wind up getting the carafe instead because it was just that damn good!! That oxtail Bolognese...Baby baby... When I tell you, I'm so glad I had that dish!! Like I said everything was top-tier here at this restaurant. no matter how full I get from food, I always have room for dessert. Amanda told us that the Keylime pie is one of the top desserts, and people literally come to the restaurant just to order their Keylime pie. Appetizers are a nice, shareable size. The oysters Rockefeller were a hit. The calamari was also good. I loved the Caesar salad. This was my first trip to Brooklyn. Fresh off of the plane and this was my first stop...and it was totally worth it! The customer service was phenomenal as the staff was very attentive from the moment we arrived. The ambiance was relaxing and intimate as it was dim lit with smooth playing music. They have vegan options on the menu so everyone at my party was accommodated. They have happy hour appetizers and drinks Fried calamari - very crispy and still soft on the inside. First off let me let you know that I've been to their other restaurant and it's completely different in a great way. I gave three stars because of the way i was treated not because of the food. The food was excellent. Let me correct that The food was SPECTACULAR. Not one complaint about that. I had the Atlantic Salmon with creamed spinach and whipped potatoes. Presentation is everything and i was impressed. My guest had the Sea bass with the same sides as me. We both agreed the food was good and i even ordered a bottle of Riesling prior to accompanying our meal as we caught up after not seeing each other over ten years. We were served by Amanda who at first seem laid back and cool when she first approached our table but something changed once we got our food. We both felt as if we were being rushed by her constantly coming to our table which is good but the frequency in it was kinda weird. It was so weird that i glanced at my watch and realized we had only been there for less than an hour. I'm not sure how fast she expect us to eat and finish a bottle when we arrived at 7:15 pm for the reservation. I was confused and tried to pay it no mind until Amanda came back requesting I pay for the bill. She seemed anxious so i told her that she could bring the bill. She bought it back in a cup and walked away I immediately paid and tipped her 30% for the services even though i was not pleased with her service. But i believe in tipping so i did just that. She didn't want to get the bill afterwards after me saying she was being too anxious. Another thing i did not like was how she grabbed my friend's plate and made a smart remark about the leftover food suggesting she could leave the plate so she could eat the bones. It was very rude and she never returned to thank us or give us paper bags for our leftover food. I must say the men were nice and helped us after us waiting for bags for our food. Overall the restaurant was nice like it was described in the reviews and the food was superb. I just think that Amanda might need more customer service training. We loved our meal at this upscale offshoot of Peaches Hothouse! The food, drinks and service were all fantastic, and prices were very reasonable for the portion size and quality. We shared the fried calamari and Brussels as starters. The calamari was very crisp and not at all greasy, and the Brussels were nicely charred. My cousin had a Caesar salad that he loved. For mains, husband had the fried chicken, and I had the sole with crab butter. Both were delicious. However, unlike the Hothouse, fried chicken does not come with a choice of spice level - it's no spice at all, although there is hot sauce on the table. Very much enjoyed our 2 dinners (so far!) at Peaches Prime. Menu ranges from standard American fare to more unusual twists, and all is executed really well. The sangria is exceptional (raspberry and rosemary add delicious notes). Service is very friendly and efficient, and the manager keeps an eye on everything and provides a welcoming presence. Went out for dinner with friends and they chose Peaches Prime. I love the owners of peaches and peaches hothouse so we said ok. The food was delicious. We started with happy hour sangria (superb), calamari and oysters . All delicious. The owners recommended the oxtail Fettuccine and they were on point. My wife stole the whole last quarter of my dish and offered me a bit of her steak frites which was nicely seasoned and bloody the way she likes it. We also had the spinach and artichoke dip which we devoured. To say we left stuffed and happy is an understatement. Bravo peaches prime. We will be back! read more
