    Crispy Chicken with Fried Garlic
    Linh N.

The crispy chicken here is so good! And the prices are unbeatable. They have an $8 lunch special! This restaurant is very spacious. Meant for banquets or large groups. They also have a course menu if you come in a large group which is a great deal. Service is very fast. Great location as well. Would come back again

    Fresh seafood in the front!

This place is such a hidden gem! Located directly across from a busy Chinese grocery store parking lot - the area might seem chaotic with cars constantly coming in and out but you can still find free parking around the neighborhood. The parking lot has 1hr free parking and $5 each hour past 1hr. (If you make purchase at the grocery store). We were enticed by their extensive lunch menu selection for $8.95 each dish. It comes with white rice as well. We got: - sweet and sour ribs - typhoon shelter bass fillet (fried) *must get* - braised eggplant and fish fillet The typhoons shelter bass fillet was so good. It's fried to perfection - very light and not overly greasy. They were generous with the fish fillet as well, it doesn't feel like you're tasting mostly batter. The secret here is to also get the sweet and sour ribs so you can dip the fish fillet in the sweet and sour sauce. Then stick the crispy garlic/seasoning bits from the typhoon sheltered dish on the sauce. Hmmmm tastes like heaven!! The eggplant fish fillet was delicious as well. I like how juicy the eggplant was. It didn't taste overcooked. We were so full - had enough to take home for another light lunch for the two of us. The ambiance was great. Restaurant was decorated nicely and very clean. Staff was attentive and friendly. I also really like the complementary tea when you dine in. We were the only ones dining in on a weekday for the lunch special menu. However I did see multiple take out ordered during the duration. This place specializes in seafood so I highly recommend trying out their seafood dishes! They have tanks of fresh seafood (lots of crustaceans) in the front of restaurants so my guess is that's what you'll be eating fresh out of tank if you do order those dishes. It's great for large groups as well.

This is a very spacious restaurant. It's great for large groups that like seafood. There are fish tanks at the front of the restaurant where you can select the fresh seafood. There are listed prices on the tank. 30% will be added if you decide to order the fresh seafood from the tank. The menu has regular dishes and a family style menu. We chose a family style menu plus a few additional dishes. The sticky rice lobster, steam oysters, and the crispy chicken was my favorite. The oysters were the same size as my palm.

I had my event planner help me go in person here to check out the upstairs which had 2 tables and a private restroom. I reserved the upstairs area 2 weeks in advance for a birthday party. They had 2k minimum to reserve which I felt we would surpass anyways. They required a $300 deposit to reserve which goes towards your total, pretty standard. You can BYOB if you'd like as well. I'm basing my review solely on this "king crab feast". First off, we let them know way in advance that's what we wanted so that when we get there on the day of, the food would just come out and we wouldn't have to wait. That was not the case at all. They had no clue that's what we wanted and we ordered a few additional items to try. It took forever for food to come out. So this feast you'd think it'll have a little bit of everything such as hot dishes, cold dishes, some carbs (noodles or rice), and soups that comes out in a stomach friendly order. That did not happen. I get they were pretty busy for a Saturday but like our food was coming out like cold veggie dish, crab, sashimi, hot soup, lobster salad etc. Like so random. I don't want cold ass sashimi then hot ass soup. Make that make sense... It's like a stomach ache waiting to happen. Needless to say, my elder family members didn't appreciate the dishes either. No matter how fresh the seafood is, I wouldn't recommend coming w a larger group on a weekend. I think it might've been way better with smaller group. So if you're coming with elder family members, do not come on a weekend and don't order their king crab feast. If I had known, I would've much rather ordered a la carte. And it was hard to converse w some of the waiters cus they don't speak good english and my mando is just not good at all. Just overall extremely disorganized. Anyways the ambiance is more modern compared to other traditional Asian family style restaurants in Brooklyn. Parking? Forget it. Street parking only and it's bk so you know the deal.

If you're craving authentic, no-frills Chinese seafood in Brooklyn, BK Seafood Restaurant in Sunset Park is a hidden gem that delivers on flavor, freshness, and value. This place leans into the classic Chinatown banquet hall feel--bright lights, big round tables, and steaming platters flying out of the kitchen. It's casual, lively, and unapologetically local, which is exactly what makes it so good. Don't expect modern décor or trendy cocktails--this is all about the food. The menu is extensive, but the standout here is absolutely the seafood. Think whole fish steamed with ginger and scallion, juicy lobster in sticky rice or black bean sauce or with ginger and scallion and sweet plump shrimp served in a variety of styles. Portions are generous, ideal for sharing family-style, and the seafood is consistently fresh and well-prepared. Beyond the seafood, the classic Cantonese dishes shine--crispy roast duck, clams with black bean sauce, salt-and-pepper squid, and sautéed greens like snow pea leaves or Chinese broccoli are all solid picks. The balance of flavors is on point, and nothing feels too greasy or heavy. Service is efficient and quick, typical of a traditional Chinese restaurant--expect speed over small talk. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality and quantity of seafood. BK Seafood Restaurant is one of those local spots that feels like it's been holding it down for years, and once you go, you'll understand why it's a neighborhood favorite. Bring your appetite, a few friends or family members, and prepare to leave full and satisfied.

3 Stars - Solid, but room for improvement I recently tried BK Seafood Market and got the fried chicken with garlic to-go. The place itself was clean, and I really liked the seafood displays--they had the seafood in aquariums, which was a nice touch. As for the chicken, the flavor was great, but it was a bit salty for my taste. I love the garlic kick, but I think a lighter seasoning could make it perfect. Also, at $19.95 for just half a chicken, it felt a little on the pricey side. Overall, it was tasty, but there's definitely room for improvement and I'm open to trying more items in the future.

Found this place online after checking reviews and pictures. I love the decor. It's very elegant - gives a nice modern twist to the traditional Chinese restaurants. Even the plates and cups are so cute! The menu isn't too extensive but they have all the favorites. They also have family meal sets for different amounts of people. We got the family set for 4 (as a group of 3) and it was way too much food. The portion sizes are huge. I would say it would be enough for 5 people but there were certain dishes that were set exactly for x amount of people like the shrimp and the oyster. There's also private rooms upstairs that you need to reserve beforehand. Overall, the food was pretty good- personally not a fan of the fried sticky rice. I enjoyed the shredded chicken, the fish head soup, and the giant steamed oysters. The red bean dessert at the end was also delicious. They have really affordable lunch specials as well. Overall: would come visit again as a larger group and try to get a private room and try out the snow crab family meal set.

I've held two events here now - a baby shower and a tea ceremony luncheon. The staff here are really willing to work with you, especially if you're trying to host an event during lunch hours. BABY SHOWER We were able to take the entire top floor which has a private restroom for no minimum to host about 35 people. We were able to bring our decor to setup about an hour prior, we were able to bring cupcakes as well as our own drinks and let us design the upstairs however we wanted. We also had no time limit but I think they started making motions to have us leave around 3pm. We were there for three hours at that point so that was more than enough time for us. Unfortunately because I was running around I didn't get to try the food all that much but it def had seafood and all of that for 35 people in a private space with seafood was around if not under $1300. Worth it imo. TEA ceremony I reserved three tables of 10-15 downstairs and ordered a special menu that cost around $1400 per table. After the baby shower I felt they were reliable for this type of event. They again offered the upstairs to me at no additional charge. The downstairs area wasn't private but we were able to book upstairs private for the tea ceremony portion. So once we finished our lunch which was amazing btw, we all headed up upstairs. Again the event ended at around 3pm. They worked with us to give us some free beers and juices for booking with them. They were professional and overall I was happy with the result. They do need to be reminded on how you wan to setup the tables and what they agreed to give you as "free" but they work with you and don't make a big fuss about much, so I'd highly recommend considering this place for an event.

Small restaurant with authentic cantonese cuisine and fresh seafood. Highly recommended to call and reserve table and seafood ahead of time as certain fresh seafood will run out by end of night. Servers were all nice, patient, and quick.

I came here for dinner with my family for the Mid Autumn Festival and it was a decent meal as always. We came knowing we wanted the set menu for 6 people but when we were about to order, the waitress told us they weren't doing the set menus anymore. I'm not sure if it is because it was a holiday or they don't do it at all anymore. Make sure you call beforehand and ask! We ended up ordering 6 dishes and the bill came out to about $400 with tip and tax. It is a very costly dinner depending on what you order. We had 2 lobsters with sticky rice, a steamed fish, shrimp with mayo, seasonal veggie in soup, half a fried chicken and the angus beef ribs. The seafood was very fresh as always and it was very satisfying. The veggie was also very fresh and cooked to perfection. My family enjoyed the dinner but we were definitely disappointed we couldn't do the set menu.

We came here with a 10+ party to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Saturday night and they were able to accommodate our reservation with a special room upstairs. We had a feast and ordered all of the seafood and classics including steamed fish, fried Dungeness crab, stir fried clams, conch & fried tofu, salt & pepper pork chops, pea shoots, house special fried rice, etc. I would definitely recommend the seafood as it was super fresh and yummy. The one dish I would probably pass on is the e-mein noodles, it was overcooked and not seasoned well. The service was great and they gave us complimentary chicken feet, which we were not able to finish with all the food and ended up taking home leftovers. Overall, I would highly recommend for a Cantonese seafood spot in south Brooklyn with great ambiance and service.

It is a very good restaurant to have seafood because the food is very delicious. The environment is very comfortable. It is not noisy but a lot of Chinese people will choose this restaurant to have family reunion. But it is a little bit expensive

    Melody C.

Modern interior and good location. Despite seafood in its name, the restaurant also sells a lot of non seafood dishes. Some were more unique than other dishes at similar eateries. All the food tasted delicious and was cooked in traditional ways that I'm familiar with, making it a comforting meal. However, do note that the portions are on the smaller side. We ordered 9 dishes for 10 people, which would usually warrant a lot of leftovers at other establishments, but not much was left over.

They will ask if you want a free soup...say yes because the soup is filled with MSG and is delicious. Finally made it to Uncle Lou, often talked about as one of the best Cantonese spots in Chinatown,…read moreand it definitely lived up to the hype. We went straight for their signature deep fried garlic chicken and decided to share the Peking duck--and both dishes were beautifully presented and packed with incredible flavor. The chicken, in particular, was crispy, aromatic, and absolutely delicious, though it's worth noting you'll want to be a bit careful as there are quite a few small bones throughout. The Peking duck was equally impressive, cooked perfectly with rich, satisfying taste in every bite. You can really tell the kitchen puts care into both quality and presentation. On top of the food, the staff were adorable and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance felt warm, lively, and comfortable--perfect for a relaxed meal in Chinatown. Overall, a fantastic dining experience with standout dishes and great energy. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Uncle Lou is a Cantonese restaurant that also serve Dim Sum dishes. The business name reference Chinese culture of calling adults "uncle" (suk1 suk1, 叔叔) or "auntie" (aa3 ji4, 阿姨) is a polite, common way to show respect, build connection, and bridge generational gaps. It treats non-relatives like family, making strangers feel younger and fostering closeness. The atmospheric decor contains very beautiful Chinese lanterns suspended from the ceiling throughout the restaurant. I believe it is decorated for Lunar New Year throughout the entire year. No comment for facility as I did not utilize. Customer service is average attentive and the staff is fluent in both English and Cantonese. I did not have to wait long to be served nor request the bill, and neither attain change. I often dine alone as a single woman and was regarded with respect for patronizing. It is always good to hear Cantonese spoken as it is mellifluous... at long last to continue this vernacular of Chinese language. I ordered in a mixture of both English and Cantonese. I was promptly seated by the maître d' promptly for a table. Melamine/plastic chopsticks in neon green and ceramic / porcelain china including ceramic Chinese soup spoon are distributed to customers while dine-in. A traditional teapot is also distributed during the duration of meal like large banquet hall Dim Sum restaurants. The large round tables contain a rotating lazy susan in traditional Chinese restaurant standard. Wow. No disposable wooden chopsticks and no disposable bowls for utensils are distributed at Uncle Lou. Price is slightly high, but worth the food quality and customer service. Uncle Lou did surely feed me! Shrimp Wonton noodle soup, Ho fun (flat rice noodles), shrimp based broth, $14.95 The bowl is gargantuan and the six (6) dumplings are good size portion served in ceramic / porcelain china. There are Chinese vegetable of one strand choi sam (choy sum) and scallions. The shrimp Wonton dumplings are a good size and good consistency. The soup broth is solid for flavor and consistency. It was served piping hot as steam was visibly emitting. The soup broth was slightly heavy. The flat rice noodles were sufficient for quantity. Noodle soup is Chinese comfort food and warms the heart. It sustained my hunger pangs throughout the day. Upon arrival the wait staff prominently announce to inform customers of 9% discount for cash payment and a 3% additional surcharge or fees for any credit/debit card payment for situational awareness. I was informant and made fully aware twice: upon entry when seated and upon receiving the bill. (source: Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), Local Law 34 of 2020). Oh! For small amounts of purchases, my default payment method is cash. Yes, cash is still widely accepted in the 21st century. Nota Bene: Have cash on hand to avoid annoying surcharge or fees. The bill is calculated and manually handwritten the old school way still a timeless classic. I paid my bill in cash including gratuity. No comment for Apple Pay or Google Wallet (formerly Android Pay/Google Pay) either acceptance or price differential vs. cash.
