    Tilapia Hot Fish!

LOVE this place in Sunset Park on 7th Ave. they are really sweet and take care of you everything. You should definitely ask the right amount food for a table but everything is great and affordable prices. Taste can be very spicy. A main dish of hot fish was great! Make sure you get with some adds with. We love to eat with some veggies as healthy as we could be. I am Japanese and medium spicy was pretty spicy. But we got some fried Seafood Udon Noodles for kid and it's very flavorful and trustworthy. Also ChongQing Spicy Chicken was amazing savory, crunchy with all the spices. It's always crowded so you can trust!

I'm not a fish fan but overall it was a pretty good experience for me. So if you are not intending to eat fresh grilled fish then this might not the place for you! Xun Yu Si Kao is not a typical Chinese restaurant, their specialty is "Yu" = Fish. They do have other spicy entrees and cold dishes. The fun part is you customize the fish based on your liking - the type of fish, the level of spiciness, flavoring, the add ons ($3-6/add on). I usually do not eat fresh fish because I can't stand when it has a too fishy taste, it makes me feel nauseous. We asked recommendation for which fish would have less of fishy taste and we were recommended the bass. I was able to eat a few piece of it and enjoyed it. I was mainly eating the add ons. Their hand made noodles was pretty good. I think the add on was good combination but it wasn't a big portions. Most of my group don't have high spice tolerance, we got mildly spicy this time but next time we come back we planning to go for the level up.

If you like fish, this is a great place to go if you have a lot of people. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu really. Everything taste pretty good and they have a little bit of eveeythin They are kids friendly and have a high chair.

My favorite grilled fish place in BK!! It's pretty spacious inside so good for big parties. I went with my family (5 people) and ordered the sauerkraut bass with lotus roots, bean sprouts, yam and enoki mushrooms, some bbq items like grilled squids, lamb skewers, beef skewer, grilled eggplant and appetizers: tripe and chicken feet. Everything was absolutely delicious! My favorite was the sauerkraut fish, the fish was crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. My fiancé highly recommends the tripe. The skewers were well cooked and juicy; nothing was over cooked. We all left very satisfied and full. We already planned to go back in the near future for their other items!

My friend and I came here for dinner tonight and none of the covid precautions were done. We didn't have to leave a phone number to be traced if potential customers got covid. We didn't have our temperature taken. The food on the other hand was delicious. We had the Beef Tripe, surf clam, and a pot of the spicy fish. All the dish we ordered were very flavorful.

Delicious. Appealing. Friendly service. This is what made the place pretty good in my opinion but the pricing was a bit steep. Hence the -1 star. We went as a family dinner so the waiters and waitresses had to put up with 7 kids and 8 adults, which they did fairly well in as well as setting up our tables for us. Some of the waitresses even offered to watch the kids while we ate! The grilled fishes that come in a big pan while still cooking is really great. The sour cabbage fish was my favorite. Their beef tripe and beef was so delicious we had to order two plates. A lot of the spiciness you can customize and adjust but they also sell some non spicy items for the kids to eat as well. The pork belly slices with cucumber were nothing to be in awe about, the sauce didn't have much flavor when you dipped the slices in. Will I be back? Yes. Only if I have $$$ or if someone is treating.

They'll put your coats and jackets into a big recycling bag so they don't smell, so I guess that's a thing. Their menu is unnecessarily confusing. Parts of it have English translations, and others don't. The "BBQ" section is really just skewers similar to what you can get at the carts on 8th ave. Of course, we had to get a whole fish. Did the striped bass in garlic sauce. It's a whole fish, but not the biggest fish. But if you throw in some noodles as an add-on, you can make a decent meal out of it. Most of the add-ons are $2 each, which *adds* up. The glass noodles were fine. The tripe was a ripoff (barely any in there). Also had the Chongqing spicy chicken, which was on the mild side of mouth-numbing. But too many small bones in the chicken. Made it annoying to eat. The space is alright. Not too packed, and the walls have some of the weirdest shit on it. Some broken English motivational slogans, and some communist propaganda...

Authentic chongqing dishes, very spicy, highly recommended for those who love Sichuan flavor! They even provide free dessert in the end.

Pretty authentic Chinese grill fish. I would recommend pickled pepper flavor. Cold noodles are spicy and very thin, consisting of noodles marinated in spicy sauce with some cucumbers and peanut cuts. The owner gave us free jelly as a gift, tastes good.

The food was okay. I have to say the best thing about it was the side dishes we ordered and not mainly the fish. The fish wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Very plain and something I can just make at home myself. The pork cucumber was the plainest thing I ever had. No flavor is the sauce what so ever, basically like putting a bunch of oils and fats in my mouth. We also ordered the frog and that tasted too much like the peppercorn, very unpleasant. The people I came with wanted to order more, so we did. My stomach started to hurt after we finished the fish. I didn't want to eat anything after that. Only 3 stars because of the staff, otherwise I would give it a 1/2.

There's been a lot of these restaurants opening up around the Brooklyn Chinatown area. They are known for their flat "hotpots" where they have fish as the main protein and you can add other veggies or meat into the flat pot. You eat the meal with a group and its served with either rice or the noodles you choose to add into the flat pot. The region of this food is from Chong Qin China. My family ordered various food items during our dinner here and every dish did not disappoint. The only gripe one might have is if they cannot eat spicy because every item on this menu is a little spicy, even the most mild was spicy. It's an interesting concept of food that I've never had before and I'm chinese. I feel if you like the regular hotpot, you might like this style of cuisine as well. The flavors are really one of a kind and out of this world.

    Beef tripe

Came with 3 people. Delicious food and attentive service. A good portion of food for the price. The waitstaff was super nice and friendly. We ordered the seafood hotpot, the beef and tripe with chili sauce and the pickled veggie with meat fried rice. We ordered their carrot apple juice which was refreshing. Everything had good flavor and was delicious. They serve herbal jelly at the end. I would come again to try the fish dishes which they are more known for

Ambiance 3/5: A little chaotic. A lot of kids (middle or high schoolers) probably because of the cheaper prices and according to other reviews a discount with student ID. Another large party came in and started moving tables around and people that appeared to be regulars seated themselves. Service 4/5: We were seated immediately at a table for 2 on a Saturday afternoon. Food came out within 10 minutes of ordering.
