Wanted to try this new fish place . We were the only customers dinning in on this Friday night around 6:15pm. Clean restaurant with booth that can accommodate small and large groups. Only one server. He was polite and seated us quickly. We ordered a small golden soup sauerkraut basa fish, tofu sauerkraut basa fish soup and dry spicy chicken hotpot. For the two fish dishes , you can add on 2 complimentary sides to the soup. We picked enoki mushrooms and lotus root for one and wood ear mushrooms and lotus for the other. Both sauerkraut dishes were good. Not as sour as other places we have eaten or rather it had less sauerkraut than most places around 8th Ave. The fish was soft, smooth and tasted good. The golden one was more spicy than the tofu one but still tasty. The ingredients tasted fresh. We were a little disappointed with the chicken dish as it was oily and under seasoned. It was more like popcorn chicken mixed with vegetables on a hot plate burner. For the price of the chicken, we had expected better pieces of chicken and more seasonings. It was quite bland. Our servicer didn't offer us water until we ask for it . He also seems to have forgotten that our meal came with rice. It came half way into our meal . All in all, we like the sauerkrauts fish dishes but not the chicken. Service was not too great and being empty on a Friday night during dinner time seems a little eerie . read more
