Wing Cheong continues to be the best late night, Chinese spot in the Bed-Stuy area. Staff is consistently friendly and familiar with all of us regulars. The food is as tasty as ever and they don't rush you out in a huff if you happen to show up minutes before closing like I often do. Prices are also still very reasonable. I'm currently hooked on the crispy, black pepper shrimps and the house special lo mein. Wing Cheong still does not deliver which is fine with me. I'm in the area. read more

Now THIS is the spot. Cash only. No online ordering, and no delivery. Hand-written menus taped to the walls. It's got tons of charm and no space to sit. But most importantly: the food is amazing. Crispy, saucy, spicy. Hits in every category. I ordered half fried chicken on a whim and it knocked my socks off. Extremely generous portions at a great price. Really good vegan options, too. So this place is divey looking but their food is definitely good. Call ahead about 20 mins and they will keep your food ready and waiting. They don't deliver and They only take cash. They have 2 tables with chairs but it's more like waiting space than place to eating there. Definitely a take out joint. I had the crispy eggplant and it was all kinds of awesome- there's a lot of batter but it's really delicious. I also got the fried rice which was pretty good. Those are my standard orders, along with the pepper chicken , the cheese wontons and the Ma po tofu is outstanding. Don't be limited by the menu, ask them for dishes they dont have on there and they are happy to accommodate almost all veggie options, as well as chicken, beef and pork. They don't have too much variety for fish and lamb but they will make an udon noodle soup that isn't on the menu, and if you ask for a spicy eggplant, they will take direction well. I definitely recommend and its been my go to in the neighborhood for chinese food for a while now, that will not change, read more

Been going to Wing Cheong since I was a kid, which has been over 20 years now btw. They always say hello to my dad etc. The food is always good. I do not remember if they take cards now though. It's been quite sometime since I have gone in there myself. It's a standard Chinese Food tale out place, nothing much different than going in to order and standing around for a bit to wait or the seats. But, definitely one of the Chinses food staples of Bed Stuy if you ask me. read more

First night I had this food it was pretty good. I had House fried rice, chicken wings, egg roll and sweet tea. The food was good and the yea was tasty. Thought I would have it again the next night and was horrible. Ordered the half fried chicken and was sitting in grease and tasted like old grease. The mapo tofu uses Szechuan peppercorn, so it has a good tingling spice. The general TSO chicken also has chicken in it t. Been to many other places where it was mostly the breaded outside. read more

Beware!!!!! It has been two weeks since I last visited this restaurant. I normally do not eat at too many Chinese restaurants. However, the one day that I didn't bring my lunch to work is the day I decided to stop by and grab something to eat. I ordered plain lo mein with boneless chicken which is something that I never ordered but I wanted something different. Little did I know that something different was going to creep up on me. I was enjoying the food while I consumed it, although I was uncertain about the boneless chicken which you can never be certain if it is chicken. Fast forward to exactly 24 hours after consuming the food, I began to feel very sick. I was suffering with abdominal cramps, diarrhea, loss of appetite (which is a rarity for me lol), fever, nausea which are all symptoms of food poisoning. I was ill for four days and unable to eat anything as well. I love to eat food but I do not like to get sick because someone failed to handle the food properly. With that being said, I will not purchase anything from this restaurant in the future. I'll stick to my regular Chinese restaurants. read more

Just picked up yesterday. Great food! This will be my go-to Chinese spot now. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken combo platter with lomein and my husband had the general tso's chicken with fried rice, each came with an egg roll. My meal was so good and I love the taste of the sweet and sour sauce! My husband enjoyed his as well. Very generous portions and the employees are super friendly! Also I ordered the hot and sour soup and let me tell you.. it is AMAZING! I think it's actually the best hot and sour soup I've had. Great flavor, hearty, perfect amount of spice and texture was on point. Last thing is my order was done in only 10 mins, we showed up 20 mins after and even after taking it back home the food was still piping hot! No complaints here... oh just.. it's cash only. Low price option for lunch in this area which is great since Brooklyn is getting to be an expensive place very fast. A meal now requires me to do overtime. Great greasy Chinese takeout and they do give very good portions so you do get a great value. A big fan of the crab rangoon. I love fried stuff at Chinese restaurants for some reason. Hopefully they don't get pushed out of the neighborhood like other reasonably priced restaurants. read more

This is my favorite Chinese place in my neighborhood. Always friendly, and I should know because we order from there at least once per week. My go to is the Bean Curd and Broccoli with Garlic Sauce (vegetarian), with a side of vegetable-steamed dumplings. Great price for the quality, for sure. Take-out and cash only. read more

Lived here for so long, I don't know why it took me so long to try this place. Probably because there are so many Chinese takeout places along Fulton Street. Try the rice cakes, small flat rice noodles that are stirfry with vegetables or meat of your choice. Usually I have had these when getting Korean food-- I was surprised to find them here. Vegetables were really fresh. They are a great gluten-free noodle option. The sauce on my dish was light and not too greasy as it is with other Chinese takeout places in the neighborhood. Price was good the woman at the counter was really nice. Looking forward to trying other dishes here. read more

For a Chinese restaurant this place is pretty good. They have a large selection of menu items. I really love this place because they have shrimp dumplings and that's very hard to find in local Chinese restaurants. They all usually have veg or pork never shrimp, so that's like a gem! In addition to the shrimp dumplings they have a grilled shrimp with veggies that's sooo good! I was looking for a healthier option one day and tried that and I loved it. The staff members are very friendly which is not always the case in Chinese restaurants. The only bad thing about this place is that they don't do delivery which is really weird. Not sure why that is but don't expect to get your food delivered. read more

I had a very Ratchet 26th bday party about two weeks ago. The theme was really Ratchet, complete with jungle juice and some fried chicken wings from Wing Cheong. Hands down best greasy, chinese restaurant chicken wings and they are great. I know this because I ate them BEFORE I started drinking. They taste good sober, tipsy or so far gone. I do want to apologize though for the day after my (suburban) homie with a severe hangover ordering one of everything on the menu to only realize that they don't take credit cards and that she can't remember her debit card pin....after the food was made. As far as non-Chinatown/American-style Chinese food goes, this place is surprisingly excellent. The chow fun is the only thing I'd definitely not order again -- way too salty and kind of mushy. The boneless spareribs were good, if a little gristly. Hot and sour soup's a little heavier/oilier than I'd prefer, but not bad when it saves me a trip to Mott Street. The dumplings are doughier than I like, but my husband loves them that way, so I guess that's up to you. The sesame chicken, beef with broccoli, and sauteed string beans have all been really tasty and with vegetables that haven't been cooked to death. The crab rangoon (on their menu as "Cheese Wonton") is nearly perfect: crisp, fresh, not too greasy. Plus? Ridiculously huge portion sizes and super friendly staff. I don't know how the other Chinese places on Fulton can stay open compared to this place. Addendum: My husband was all "dude, you were so mean to Wing Cheong!" Tasty cheap eats available late night, from super nice people. A late arrival into JFK after not eating all day, a cab ride to Brooklyn, I'm hangry. That's hungry to the point of being angry. My friend suggests Wing Cheong even though he ate the food there just the night before. Veggie dumplings - steamed - are good. Scallion pancakes, good. The roast pork with snow peas (#89?) has more veg in it than snow peas, so bonus. We also got an item pictured on the wall, fish with tofu and vegetables. It could use a little hot sauce to zip things up a bit, luckily there's an ample portion of that provided in our bag. Our two main dishes come with rice: brown or white is available. We get the brown. That's a bonus in my book as well. For being nearly 1 am, everyone's in the good mood, including the numerous other customers who come in ravenously requesting the fried wings, and then breaking out into acapella song. The woman behind the counter is smiling the whole time. So much food, and heaps left over. All for $20. Take-away only. read more

Surprise. Actual authentic Chinese dishes in BedStuy! It seems the establishment is intent on adding more 'Home Style' dishes as well. No Chinese broccoli yet, but I (and you) should ask for it! For now, I'd go for the Ma Pao Tofu, the eggplant, and perhaps the scallion pancakes if you're staying in. They're best if you don't carry them home in a box where they'll get soggy. read more

Generous portions and friendly counter staff. Enjoyed the mixed lo mein very much, as good as I have had. Not as saturated with sauce as many other places, and to my surprise I appreciated that more than I would have thought. The crab rangoon (cream cheese wontons) are 10 sizeable pieces for thess than $4 and a generous helping of sweet/sour sauce for dipping. I have had better (personal taste - I prefer them more crispy), but not by much and not for such a good value. Took a menu with me and will definitely eat there again! read more

The food was ready in 10 minutes and really hot. Becareful eating the hot food. The chicken lo mein is good but salty. They don't have chopsticks and no hot oil. They only have plastic spoons and forks and hot sauce. Hot oil tastes better than hot sauce. The lunch special doesn't apply on Sundays. It was convenient and close to the Children's museum of Brooklyn.

The pork with garlic sauce was absolutely delicious. This one isn't spicy so it didn't numb the mouth. The mapo tofu was also delicious and a little spicier but still not numbing the mouth. Def better to have it with rice though. The green pepper fish was mouth numbing and honestly I couldn't taste much of the flavor because the combination of spice and the hot temperature of the food was overbearing for me. So if you're like me and can tolerate some spicy but not numbing spicy then I would recommend telling them less spicy. Portions were perfect for 5 people (3 males and 2 females) as we ordered 2 of the pork with garlic sauce, 2 mapo tofus, and 1 big green pepper fish dish. We went on a Saturday at 5:30pm so it wasn't too crowded. Overall delicious and the staff were all friendly and very attentive in filling up our water for our spicy meal. They did have a sign saying that the prices went up, but I think they may have been too cheap to print out a new menu if that was the case. I was going off of what they had on the wall for the general public. So as I stated, I ordered crab Rangoon ($7, allegedly), honey wings ($7, allegedly), a shrimp egg roll ($2, allegedly), spare rib tips with fried rice ($12, allegedly). My total was $31. My assumption is they probably charged me extra for pork fried rice, which I didn't ask him for. I know for a fact they are not charging tax because there's no way that you're forcing people to pay in cash while also charging them for taxes that you don't pay. The crab Rangoon was actually pretty decent even though I didn't have the sauce that comes with it. The honey wings were OK. They actually taste more like honey BBQ. I prefer C&Y honey wings. It's real honey and stay hot for an hour due to the way honey maintains heat. I also don't appreciate when these spots chop up a wing and call it two wings. 1 wing is the entire thing. STINGY. The spare rib tips I don't like and neither do I like their pork fried rice. The rice is a bit bland and I don't like those large spare rib tips. I prefer the boneless spare rib tips that C&Y has. A shrimp roll is a shrimp roll is a shrimp roll. It wasn't too bad and it was actually pretty happy. The shrimp was a little bit larger than those baby shrimp that they normally stuff in shrimp rolls. Their pricing is on par with C&Y yet I don't have no issues paying what they ask and their food is good aside from their lo mein. They are not stingy and have pretty decent customer service unlike the guy who took my order here who paused my order to take another order over the phone and tend to the person behind me. This is what I get for cheating on my spot and being lazy when they both were far af.
