I got delivery and the sweet and sour chicken was really disappointing - the sauce wasn't the typical sweet and sour flavor and it wasn't really very good. The egg drop soup tasted burned somehow. Okay 5/5 but you have to know what to get. I've tried two of their beef dishes, the beef and broccoli, and the beef and eggplant and both were delicious. The beef was tender and flavorful, with a good portion of meat and veggies. The pint size is less than $10 and comes with rice in the dish, while the quart size is around $15 and comes with a dish of just the meat and veggies with a separate box of rice on the side. Pretty good deal if you ask me. However, some things are just not as good and not worth getting. The beef fried rice was just yellow rice with a sprinkle of onions and beef, not flavorful at all. It's not even Bunsmith. It's not any of the hipster classed-up spots that are opening up every week in Crown Heights. It's better than that: you go in knowing exactly what kind of delicious junk you want to put in your body, and they deliver, and give you the best fast food chinese around. You order it. Take it home. Feast with your family. Everything is piping hot, oily, and surprisingly high quality. Good ingredients, copious grease. Don't be shy, you're going to get dirty and your body is going to ask, "what the fuck is going up there?" This spot is a must for the locals. Practically the Citizen Kane of Crown Height corner Chinese places. Generic family joint that cranks out ghetto and gentrified Chinese take out. Out of the 3 spots in the 2 block vicinity on Franklin J's Wong is definitely the "fanciest" of them all. The fried rice is not greasy and the hot and sour soup is loaded with veggies and tofu. Only one downside, the white rice they use is not as good as the other spots' nearby. The interior is small, with only a couple of tables for dining, but it is well-lit and cleaner than the majority, with an 'A' letter grade boasting on the front door. I usually order the sesame or sweet and sour chicken, nothing too crazy. They do a great lunch special for $5.25 that nabs you an entree over fried rice + a drink/soup. based on the overall positive reviews, I decided to give this place a try. Since this was going to my first (and now last) visit, I got something "safe" or so I thought- sweet and sour chicken. Expecting pineapples, tender chicken, w/ a tangy sauce, instead I was greeted by fried puffs of dough w/ tiny pieces of chicken inside, a watery orange sauce, and no pineapples.
