It was more like a side dish, but that was a perfect size for me because I wasn't that hungry and I wasn't planning on eating too much Just because I was gonna see a friend later on that night and was saving my appetite for my dinner. Mr. Lin is located in the Dekalb Market Hall near Trader Joe's. I would recommend Mr. Lin and I am also curious to try more of their food offerings. Located in the basement level of the shipping plaza in the food court right in-front of Trader Joe's. The dumplings need a new wrap recipe, the flap part was too hard like it was over/under cooked. I like authentic soft dumplings. I'm not sure how they prepare them but need updating. The taro was tasty and made with non dairy creamer. I chose tapioca as classic topping. Best thing I had. I dont eat pork so my only options with the soy chicken and roast duck. I got 2 portions of duck and one of chicken. I will say the 3 meats bowl isnt actually a bigger portion of meat than the single meat bowls its just you get variety. It comes with rice a boiled egg and some veggies (bok choy and broccoli). The noodles and wontons are cooked well, springy, so it is important to eat them ASAP. The wontons, while it says mini on the menu, really are mini and a bit disappointing just due to size. I ordered the Char Siu Platter for my introductory experience. It was Dekalb Market pricing ($17) which seems a bit steep for the aforementioned authentic proportions. My western palate was most amused with the marshmallow-like texture of the "mini bun" included in the platter. Nothing was particularly "wrong" with my dining experience but I found myself wanting more (not only regarding proportions). Someone actually tried this first, then told me to stop next time I was there, so we took their advice! I wasn't feeling like a big meal so I just got the peanut noodles, which were definitely enough for me to make a meal of. The sauce was good without being heavy or greasy, and no one spice or flavor overpowered the peanut. My mom got the roast bbq pork bowl, and really enjoyed it (although she lamented the lack of radioactive red food dye, haha!) As a few others have said, one of the cheaper spots in this food hall. It tasted like very overcooked, sticky spaghetti with cheap quality ultra thick, smooth style peanut butter that bore absolutely no resemblance to anything Thai.
