3.5 rounded down to a 4, could be My mistake asking for white meat general tso's extra crispy, it was barely crispy and just so dry and overcooked. The veggie fried rice was just okay, could use a lot more seasoning. I won't be in a hurry to get from this place next time unless I'm in the area and really craving it. I live near a highly reviewed yet to be explored Hardee's that feels promising and closer to home. For $11 I would hope for better read more

Ive been eating chinese for quite a while when i stopped by this one it looked really clean seemed high quality with the exception of the food quality I've tried 3 dishes the popcorn shrimp general tso chicken and french fries/bbq the bbq tastes like ducksauce and ketchup and the genral tso taste watered down their price is a bit more then others. The shrimp tasted soggy as if they didn't let it dry off the fryer before putting it in a container and thats really my take it isnt worth it the flavors taste watered down and cheap the quality of the chicken its self isnt bad but sauces are bad. Good taste for a great price! It blows me away how much value there is for many items on the menu at New Hardee. I can essentially have enough food for 2 meals for only about $11. The food was tasty, but what really made it stand out is that it is not as greasy as the food from many other Chinese take-outs that I have been to. I really liked their beef and broccoli as well as their General Tso's, but I will say that the egg rolls were a bit sub-par. When I ordered, they said it would be about 10 minutes so I went to grocery store and came back 10 minutes later. About 3 minutes after that my food was ready. I definitely plan to come back when I need a quick and cheap and tasty meal. read more

A++++ I usually never eat Chinese take out, it's greasy, unsettling and just overall experience. But this place is sooo different, I decided to give it a try after a reviewer said it non greasy. I ordered coconut shrimp with pork fried rice. It tasted good, well made. O man, the portions were huge!! How the heck they give you more than 20 shrimps for 12$. I feel bad, because how is this place making money. When searching for a new apartment in NYC, one amenity that often gets overlooked is the Sunday-afternoon satisfaction known as the neighborhood chinese take-out. In my 20+ years of living in my own in the boroughs, I've had my fair share of $7 meals. Some barely passed as food. Others i'd gladly pay double in a sit-down restaurant. I'll just get to it - New Hardee sits in that upper tier, and let me tell you - a lot of takeout has passed through my intestines. Properly priced and with just the right amount of "what the fuck do you wanna eat" in the clerk's voice to know that they don't need to be polite. Let's talk mystery meat. I must say that their beef and chicken have some semblance of that natural, realistic chew that you want and expect from the flesh of a carcass. It's still a mystery, but like being on the second-to-last chapter and the case is about to cracked. They do not deliver, which is likely a dealbreaker for many. And as other reviewers have instructed, call ahead and plan to arrive 20 minutes later. If your order is over $20, ask for a free soda can. I'm from the south. I take pride in seafood. Especially pf the fried variety. That being said, my expectations for such in NY were quite low. I actually didn't even intend to get seafood while visiting this spot, but something told me to and I am oh so glad that I did. The batter was simply perfect. No other descriptors necessary. I love hardees. When the restaurant burned down I was upset. When it came back I was hype. The food is always great. They are always busy. The fruit punch is AWESOME. They serve a lot of things other than Chinese food. Only thing I don't like is the chicken wings. The food is always fresh. They give a lot of duck sauce unlike other restaurants. This is HOOD CHINESE FOOD at its finest... If you're looking for michelin star quality food then you'll be extremely disappointed. For what it is though, greasy, fried, unhealthy and quick (anything you want can/ will be ready in 10mins) its great. Heres a few tips to get the best out of New Hardee... 1. Call at least 10mins so you can avoid the wait. 2. Don't order "General Tso's chicken" Order "General Tso's chicken with white meat" if you don't order with white meat you'll get some nasty breaded chicken sliver that apparently isn't white meat. 3. Bring cash, they dont accept credit though there is an ATM inside. In closing, New Hardee has been a bed-stuy staple for year, you'll most likely enjoy it as long as you have reasonable expectations. read more

I pride myself on a knowing where to find a delectable Chinese experience. New Hardee definitely isn't on that list. Went once. Won't go back. I ordered something safe, chicken with broccoli and egg drop soup. The main entree was bland. Did it have any spices on it? The cooks didn't forget the recipe, did they? And the side of rice was gummy. But the soup was okay. Definitely cannot recommend. There are much better Chinese food options in Bed-Stuy. The only upside was the young lady who took my order was pretty cute. Not cute enough for a return visit to ogle her again though. read more

Yuck. I ordered some chicken wings in a sauce, the chicken wings were soggy. The ribs goo was so thick, I didn't want to finish the ribs.. and WHO doesn't finish their ribs ? Fried rice is over cooked( grains split, not whole. Makes a difference for Chinese food). This is not anybody's first time eating Chinese food, you know how it should taste more or less. There was nothing that I ordered that needed ketchup. Nothing. There wasn't even soy sauce in the bag. Then had the unmitigated gall to charge $22 for the salt baked shrimp and told me I had to pay $5 extra to substitute the lo mein for white rice. Who is eating white rice with shrimp? Girl bye. I'm not paying almost $30 for one meal from a hood Chinese spot. If there's no heat in your establishment, your prices need to be in lowercase. If it looks like you might catch staph in your establishment, your prices need not to be so loud. I also believe they overcharged me. They did have a sign saying that the prices went up, but I think they may have been too cheap to print out a new menu if that was the case. I was going off of what they had on the wall for the general public. So as I stated, I ordered crab Rangoon ($7, allegedly), honey wings ($7, allegedly), a shrimp egg roll ($2, allegedly), spare rib tips with fried rice ($12, allegedly). My total was $31. My assumption is they probably charged me extra for pork fried rice, which I didn't ask him for. I know for a fact they are not charging tax because there's no way that you're forcing people to pay in cash while also charging them for taxes that you don't pay. The crab Rangoon was actually pretty decent even though I didn't have the sauce that comes with it. The honey wings were OK. They actually taste more like honey BBQ. I prefer C&Y honey wings. It's real honey and stay hot for an hour due to the way honey maintains heat. I also don't appreciate when these spots chop up a wing and call it two wings. 1 wing is the entire thing. STINGY. The spare rib tips I don't like and neither do I like their pork fried rice. The rice is a bit bland and I don't like those large spare rib tips. I prefer the boneless spare rib tips that C&Y has. A shrimp roll is a shrimp roll is a shrimp roll. It wasn't too bad and it was actually pretty happy. The shrimp was a little bit larger than those baby shrimp that they normally stuff in shrimp rolls. Their pricing is on par with C&Y yet I don't have no issues paying what they ask and their food is good aside from their lo mein. They are not stingy and have pretty decent customer service unlike the guy who took my order here who paused my order to take another order over the phone and tend to the person behind me. Did I detect an eye roll??? I probably won't ever return to this Hardee location.

It is a chaotic mess for the volume they are trying to do. It's not about adding more manpower, it's about streamlining. Tables are sitting empty while people are on the waitlist (not due to reservations), orders are going to the wrong tables, to-go orders are in disarray and have to be re-verified on multiple orders, and it takes a long time to get some water. The Yelp waitlist is useless here - wait was supposed to be 5-10 minutes and it turned into almost 40. All this could have been avoided with more planning, better organization, and training. Kitchen staff doing their job well. Front of house needs work.
