There stir fry noodles are also recommended. They have some seating but it's not a huge restaurant. I usually go during the day and never see it completely full. Service is pretty standard. Metered parking if you want to park really close. You can go down an avenue or two to find free residential street parking and walk. My family of 3 found New Lee Li through Yelp when we were looking for a local Chinese Restaurant with a good rating for dining in. At first we were reluctant to settle in as it looked more like a take-out venue. While waiting for my order I overheard a manager? speaking English to another customer providing instructions on how to reheat something - most likely a turkey as I was seeing how they had some prepared for customers. Hard to find a "younger" generation of Chinese peeps wanting to stay in the restaurant business so I was really glad. Got my order and the chops were in an open large take out container, open - not really sure I felt about that as a bit of steam was coming out of the grocery bag against my fingers. The box was not even partially closed. I understand if it was closed, it would steam and get soggy... Nevertheless when I got home I got my craving incredibly satisfied. $15 was really reasonable for about 8 chops cut in half. Besides being one of our usual, reliable lunch spots now, New Yee Li roasts amazing, Chinese-style turkey for Thanksgiving! (Pro tip for next year!) I'd seen their feature about it on the New York Times last year, but called in too late so we didn't get to try it. This year, we called them over a week in advance to secure our turkey. They were nice enough to help cut it up for us, just like a roast duck, except much bigger. We got half a bird, which came out to be a whopping 6+ lbs of roasted meat ($8/lb). It's hard to make turkey tasty, but they managed to make the meat moist and not overcooked or overly dry. The warm, delicious side of garlicy soy sauce tied it all together. Gravy who??? Although the turkey was room temp / coldish by the time we brought it home, I'd take this Chinese version over any other plain / dry turkey I've ever had. read more

Got the wontons and it was pretty solid, nice and clean flavors and wontons were plump with a good balance between the shrimp and pork. Got the beef go fun which was also a solid selection and came with good portion of beef that was very tender. Lastly, got the home style fish filet over rice and was really good. My family visited Yee Li a lot when they were in Chinatown, but since that one sadly closed last year, I'm glad that we have New Yee Li from the same owners in Dyker Heights. The food is just as good as the one in Manhattan was, and the menu is full of roasted meats, soups, noodles, and rice dishes. I'm a big fan of the noodles there, and they turn out good versions of my go-to dishes, like chicken chow fun and Singapore chow mai fun. One of my other favorite dishes is their fish filet (called "house home style fish" if you're ordering through Yelp/Grubhub/Seamless) with minced pork, string beans, and sweetened black beans. Their Cantonese comfort food has been great during these times of uncertainty, and I'm looking forward to ordering more soon. read more

Terrible just received order and wonton noodle soup is crap. I never ordered string beans in the wonton noodle soup! So they decide instead of Ho noodles which were quite small serving. That they would replace ho noodles with hard rotted string beans. Are you f***in insane? And you don't believe see photos. However, this isn't the first time I ordered from the restaurant though, and I recall having a really good experience (perhaps last year) eating here. Yes, King's Kitchen used to be go-to for Chinese BBQ on Fort Hamilton, but they've since changed owners/names and have pretty bad service. Enter New Yee Li (which used to be other Chinese restaurants, like Blue Ginger and New Lucky). They do a ton of Chinese BBQ, but it can be hit or miss. Don't get the chicken. The charsiu is great, however. The star of the show is their wonton noodle soups, which you can get with roast meats. Roast duck is the way to go! Keep in mind that if you order non-roast meats, it may take a while to get ready since they prepare it fresh. Sit a spell and watch some Judge Judy on their TV. read more

Tuesday November 15, 2022 around 6ish. Party of 3. The staff warmly greeted us on this rainy and cold evening. We went through 3 or 4 pots of tea which was just right( not weakness too strong) One of the owners recognized me after all these years from their Manhattan Chinatown location and gave us a bowl of salted peanuts they mad and had cooling. We ordered: Soy Sauce Chicken which they warmed for us. It had a nice flavored silky textured skin with moist and tender flesh to enjoy. Shrimp with Walnuts was done right just enough of the mayo blend dressing, shrimps fried perfect with a light batter, and just enough candied walnuts. Beef cubes with Chinese broccoli...tender and well seasoned cubes of beef tossed with perfectly blanched Chinese Broccoli. Shrimp Fried Rice had plenty of shrimps and seasoned to perfection. Grains of rice were perfectly cooked. Bowl of white rice to enjoy with the sauces from all the dishes. Plenty of food with leftovers for 2( which the ladies split) We will definitely, add this into our dining rotation. Great Comfort Food for a cold dreary evening. read more

This place is a true hidden gem in and around the Sunset Park/Bay Ridge area. I am so so so grateful I was encouraged to try this place when I was looking for a new Cantonese spot. I have my usual Cantonese haunts around the area, but they are just okay. Nothing mind blowing. Well, it's been two weeks since I was suggested to try this place and I've been back around 5 times. This place is the true Cantonese comfort food I've been looking for. The flavors here remind me of my childhood. They do everything from the traditional Cantonese family size dishes to the meats that they chop up in the front. The lady that works here and takes your order is extremely nice and friendly. I usually speak Cantonese to her, but she also speaks great English. This place is a true hidden gem. I know I said I am grateful this place exists already, but I need to say it again. It's really hard to find a great Cantonese restaurant nowadays. most of them are just meh and okay. If you are looking for that traditional Cantonese flavor, definitely check out New Yee Li. It is conveniently located about a block from the Chinese HL market and also the Fort Hamilton train station. It's in a great area for the locals and also convenient for people that are getting off the train and also going to the Chinese market for grocery shopping. I am a fan! Thank you for existing. I'm sorry but I am going to have to give 1 star to this restaurant. I ordered the roasted duck over rice and to my surprised, I was given uneditable pieces. On the rice were miniature sized cuts of duck skin that barely had any meat. It was purely and strictly only bones. The manager who packed my order also did not say anything about the butcher's cut, which is atrocious. Definitely not worth the price at all. You'd be better off to buy roasted duck somewhere else and diy your own duck over rice meal. Even Chinatown does better than the portion size they are giving. read more

The food served by this overpriced place is not worth the cost. I was actually surprised at the lack of flavor in the dishes. Especially the egg drop soup which I had to throw out. It was greasy and flavorless . I cannot justify spending so much money on food that lacks in quality. I'm disappointed and left feeling swindled. Went here to get some roast duck, it being new and all I figured I'd give it a shot. The duck was delicious, 10/10, would go again. Spoke to the owner or one of who was a younger guy. Apparently they gave up a restaurant in the city to come to Brooklyn because it's just overall easier. They certainly know how to cook duck there's no doubt there. Had a doctors appt in the area, I'm 8 months Preggo and had my 19-month toddler with me; we were both due for a meal. Needed something fast, healthy, and soft enough for a toddler. I thought Mapo Tofu fit the bill and several were pictured on this page though no one wrote a review. But I took a chance and ordered and wow!! Sooo good. I loved it and my toddler loved it. The sauce is unctuous, the tofu is silky smooth, the bits of beef delicious, and it was ready in a jiffy. I'll be back for the duck! read more

Went here for dinner on Saturday night. On Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn. Small restaurant. Only a handful of tables and most of them are large, round, family style tables. We had to wait for ~15-20 minutes. While outside we saw the "C" grade inspection certificate. Disconcerting, but we decided to stick it out. The hostess was friendly and came out to get us when the table was ready. We sat at one of the round tables which was a bit too big for our table of 4. Almost every patron was Asian, which we took as a good sign. Pretty extensive menu of Cantonese dishes. Hot tea provided. The 2 women at our table ordered chow fun and the hostess correctly told them 1 order was enough for the both of them She was right. I ordered roast pork with hot peppers and black bean sauce. My friend wanted roast pork with fried tofu. The hostess suggested not ordering another pork dish so she suggested the fried tofu but with a side order of roast pork (??). She was hard to understand. We wanted sauteed bok choy but the hostess said it was too hard because it wasn't in season and suggested a sauteed vegetable plate. We went with it. Food came out pretty quickly. No rice as a side. Common thread for all the dishes....no taste. All very bland. Had to ask for garlic/chili sauce. But no salt, pepper or soy sauce on the table. The chow fun was good but plain. My roast pork with hot peppers and black bean sauce had green bell peppers in it and although it was listed as spicy, it was not. Not much taste. The roast pork on the side was pretty good, but also very bland. The fried tofu was OK. I've never had fried tofu before. Not sure I will again. The sauteed vegetables were OK at best. Spinach, some other veggies, 1000 year egg sliced up. Would have preferred the bok choy. So....the food was really bland. Not sure if that is just traditional Cantonese or not. Again the restaurant was in the middle of the Chinatown section in Brooklyn, lots of Asian patrons in the restaurant and lots of people picking up Take Out. But I can't recommend the food. The "C" rating is of course a concern. Hopefully it will improve. But we won't be back. Bill came to around $65 read more
