Peaches was my refuge during COVID - and my only complaint is they are going to drive me to bankruptcy. I simply cannot stop ordering the chicken sandwich. It haunts my dreams. Thought I posted this but it turns out I did not!! This place was AWESOME. My boyfriend and I went at around 1130 on a Sunday morning. There was a half hour wait, we added our names to a white board at the front (which is such a cool idea) and waited outside as the front area and restaurant itself is very small and cramped. We were seated by the window in the front which was very lovely. We started with the fried green tomatoes and loaded baked grits as I had never had grits before (and I lived in the south for four years!!!) the fried green tomatoes came with this (I think aioli) sauce on it and it was SO GOOD. I would come back just to order five of these all for myself. The grits were incredible as well. So glad this was my first time trying them, what a treat! I was in the mood for eggs so I ordered scrambled eggs (big mistake!!!!) they were okay but nothing spectacular, kind of dry. My boyfriend got the chicken sandwich and I wish I had too, it was so delicious. I was immediately jealous after he let me try a bite. The coffee was actually really good too. Only reason I'm giving it 4/5 is because our waitress was so slow. She also forgot to bring my coffee for about fifteen minutes and repeatedly took forever to bring things we asked for, we noticed it was the same for the table next to us too. It's not a super crowded place because the restaurant is so small, so it's not like she had a million tables to tend to at once. I was a server multiple times in my life so I try not to complain about servers but this was just annoying. She barely even seemed like she wanted to be there (which, understandable- who enjoys work?) but it definitely put a bit of a damper on an otherwise incredible meal. Will definitely be coming back. After preparing myself for a long wait based on all these Yelp reviews, we got to Peaches Hothouse around 6:45ish on a Saturday and were delighted to be sat immediately. I will say this location is very small, not that great for large groups, and that there was a substantial amount of people waiting outside by 7pm. So definitely get here a little early if you want to avoid a wait. I got the hot fried chicken with mac and cheese, which also comes with a square of cornbread and some sweet pickles. I loved the spice mix they used on the chicken, which was VERY hot and had a subtle, sweet note as well. The hot chicken is definitely not for the faint of heart. I have a pretty high spice tolerance, and my mouth was on fire. I wish they had a spice level between regular and 'hot' because I will say that the spiciness was borderline distracting. But so good. But somewhat painful. I will say it looks like they're inconsistent with how much spice goes on the chicken -- the girls at the table next to us also ordered the hot chicken, but ours definitely had a lot more spice mix on it. The pickles were crisp and delicious, and cut through some of the spiciness. The mac and cheese was also so good!!! It came out hot, and the cheesy sauce was very smooth (what's up with all the grainy mac and cheeses out there lately? Who is into this stuff?). The cornbread was pretty dry, nothing to write home about. For drinks, we got the Sweet Georgia Brown (bourbon and sweet tea), which was awesome and also helped cool my mouth in between bites of chicken. I'm actually surprised to see so many complaints about the service -- maybe we were just lucky, but our waiter was very attentive, and took our food and drink orders very quickly. And the food came out in record time! Don't think we waited more than 5 minutes for our meal. They also played a lot of old school rap here, which my boyfriend appreciated and wanted to note in this review (2 Chainz, Biggie, Snoop Dogg, more that I forgot probably). read more

Really enjoyed this place. Pleasant environment and really good food. I ordered the fried chicken and French toast. The bread on the French toast was coated in what I believe is oatmeal crumb adding a very nice accent when eaten with the chicken and syrup. Peaches has the best spicy fried chicken in BK. Can't go wrong with a 3 piece. Go medium spicy for a perfect kick. The extra spicy is crazy and I do recommend trying it and recording reactions. During our visit to New York, we stopped here twice. The favorite was definitely the chicken sandwich, I had no spice and my sister had extra spicy. The fries were crisp and the chicken was steamy, crunchy on the batter and you could tell it was freshly made. The service here was my favorite, quick seating, attentive and positive waiters, definitely deserved a bigger tip. Came here for a Sunday evening dinner. - To avoid the 2.5-hour brunch wait we came around 5 pm and waited only 25 minutes for a table for 4 - I found the famous Fried Chicken to be A-OK, but not as amazing as I had expected from the incredibly rave reviews. Amazing Delectable Scrumptious! The flavors were all there (as with any Peaches restaurant)! I am never disappointed with dining at any of these locations. Any dish I am confident in trying without a blink. From their drinks to their food menu, it'll take your taste buds on a wowing trip. Not to mention, the service is superb. On this specific visit, we ordered the fried shrimp & fried (hot &spicy) catfish with the sides: mac & cheese, spicy broccoli and collar greens. Every bite was mouth watering enough you couldn't wait for the next one. The spice on the catfish was just enough to flavor the underneath well seasoned fish. It paired well. The mac & cheese is just your favorite southern side dish as it should be, CHEESE IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES! The collard greens were smoked to perfection, tasting the meat with every bite and the broccoli was not your average. Dear Peaches , It was my mistake for ordering fried chicken before 5 pm. It was so evident that the chicken was reheated via microwave, I couldn't even drag myself to call and complain. I should have waited till at least 6, to enjoy some fresh peaches fried chicken, but alas, my pregnant wife had a craving at 430. The chicken was comparable to reheating chicken from KFC's fill up bucket - the next day. When you think it's crispy and delicious, and want it to be - but are disappointed when you bite into the skin and get that microwaved blast of stale crunch and dry meat, with their just out of the microwaved taste is what I had for dinner. Found this great gem of a restaurant while googling for some great inexpensive comfort food in Brooklyn. My search brought me to Peaches, and I'm glad it did. I brought my uncle with me for our bi-weekly lunch date and we wanted to try something new. We both essentially ordered the same dish. The menu says that your meal comes with a side salad. However, our waiter Beau informed us that we could choose and of the other sides listed, instead (great looking out, Beau). I had the macaroni side and my uncle had the broccoli side. However, he found the broccoli to me too spicy for his taste and sent it back. Beau gave him macaroni, instead. The macaroni was amazing; I kid you not. Thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The chicken was good, too. The texture and taste was reminiscent of a famous chicken brand that I've had before (which shall remain nameless). The drinks were inexpensive. The sweet tea was delicious. Only issue I have with this establishment is that it is extremely small. Also, I didn't see a host when we came in; we were sort of left to our own devices until I went and asked a waitress the procedures for waiting for a table. Okay, so I had Peaches Hothouse in my bookmarks for over a year now and I finally decided to give it a try. I realized that I have past by this place many times and never knew it was actually Peaches Hothouse. Anyways, I called in my order and the guy told me it would be about 5 to 10 minutes. I get there after ten minutes about 15 minutes to be exact you have to stand by the bar and wait an extra 15 minutes. When I arrived I was not asked if I needed help nor a table (if I was dining in). I had to wave my hand only to get an oh yes how can I help you? What was that about? I felt extremely uncomfortable when he said oh let me go to the back to see if it's ready. Then he still takes his time as he comes back out the kitchen without my food with no confirmation as to if it was done or not. Absolutely the worst customer service I have had in a while. Now for the food.... The crispy chicken sandwich was good but beware it is dark meat for all white meat only eaters such as myself. It included a crispy slaw that was soggy and not fresh lettuce and tomato, and sweet pickles. I also asked for hot seasoning which I did not get. All with a side of fries that were crispy but I could taste the recycled grease it was deep fried in. When I asked the waitress what she thought about the collard greens she turned her nose up and said fries were the best option for a side. Okay so me and two friends were starving one Friday night and decided to stop here for food. It didn't help that we were starving lol. I immediately walk into the restaurant to look for the hostess so she can put my name on the list, you know, like how it normally goes down. Apparently you come in, write your name down & your party, and wait for them to call you. She was very rude and seemed overwhelmed. Before I make this long story any longer for no reason. These are the deets: 1. The chicken is NOT that good. I got the spicy chicken. It had no flavor, no distinct taste, it's nothing I want to eat again. And I LOVE fried chicken lol. I also was starving and you know when you're really hungry, everything tastes good, but this chicken just missed all the spots 2. The Sides were also not that good. I walked into the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The servers were blasting gospel and dancing. Everyone's plates had large portions of food. My husband ordered the spicy fried catfish and I ordered the fried chicken. We also ordered mac and cheese and collard greens as sides and fried green tomatoes as our appetizer. This was actually my first time ever having fried green tomatoes and it was really tasty. Pairing it with the pickled onions and aioli was perfect. When it came to the entree, I wish I had ordered the fried chicken with spicy seasoning. I had some of the spicy fried fish and it was like a punch to the mouth! Full of flavor and heat, but not too overwhelming. Don't get me wrong, without the spice the fried chicken was still crispy, moist, and delicious. The mac and cheese though?? SO good! Perfect mix of creamy and cheesy. I wish the sides were bigger! I enjoyed the entire experience at Peaches. The Chicken and Toast and Grilled Shrimp was banging. Probably top two french toast I have ever had because of the fluffiness and edge crunch on that thang. The fresh fruit on the side was a great touch and the chicken was pretty well seasoned and fried. Additionally plenty of melanin in the place and the music was on point. Not too loud where you cant hear your friend talking, but loud enough to vibe. Peaches never misses! I went here one Friday after work with coworkers and we enjoyed it. The highlight of our experience was our waiter Steven who's shift was unfortunately over before we could pay the bill and tip him appropriately. He was sweet and attentive! My party of 6 had the fried chicken, salad, fried tomatoes, sweet potato fries, mac and cheese and cornbread. This place used to be one of my staples! The food is just really mediocre any not good anymore. The regular fries were pale, anemic, and bland - like they got frozen fries at costco. The sweet potato fries were pretty good. The chicken tasted okay but nothing to write home about when usually I can't stop thinking about the chicken! It was crispy though which I guess is good. The service was really great so I hate to write a bad review, but it feels like the kitchen is under new management or something. I sadly won't be going back. I think I'm not alone - peaches used to have a line out the door but we were able to get seated right away, and while the restaurant did fill up, we were there for over 3 hours and there was never a wait - during brunch hours on a Saturday! I know they have a bunch of new locations. Maybe those are better. Also, Black owned restaurants that don't have Black people working there...in Bedstuy...no comment. read more
