Anywhere I go that has a Parlor Doughnuts, I have to go. They have the largest and most delicious Doughnuts I've eaten. They have a loyalty program so don't forget to sign up. Everyone here is really nice too.

The blueberry hill & sandy beach are amazing. This place does not have seating in doors but some tables outside. If you plan on going during busy hours do not be surprised if there is a long line. Regardless of the long lines it's beyond worth it!

Wow, these croissant style doughnuts were calling my name. There were just too many options to choose from. I could not decide. I probably got more than I should have, every single one of them looked so good. Best seller is the French toast and I can see why that one is really good! I also very much enjoyed blueberry Hill. We got some other jelly, filled one, I want to say strawberry or raspberry, which was just OK I would prefer the other 2, the jelly kind of tasted too artificial imo. I believe they offered about three or four filled donuts.

If I was about to be buried and at my funeral someone showed up after eating a parlor donut and it so happened that some donut dust hit my casket ... I would RISE FROM MY SLUMBER and SUCK those fingers dry to the bone. That's how good these donuts are. Man these donuts hit every time. I'm surprised to realize that I've not reviewed them before. I have been here several times and always enjoyed my donuts. Depending when you go, parking isn't too bad. There's street parking just outside. I've never been when there's a wait either. I'm always greeted by an enthusiastic helpful staff member who can answer all my questions. There are so many flavors to choose from and they change. On this visit after looking at all the choices, we chose the French toast donut which was slated to be the most popular. We asked if they could cut it in half but we were told they are not allowed and that there are knives nearby. We took our donut and we sat outside on their picnic benches. It was a lovely day to be sitting outside. There were several people out there already eating their donuts and drinking coffee. It was a bit challenging to cut through the donut with the plastic knife, as it's pretty thick. The outside was crispy while the inside was pillowy and doughy. It was a nice combination. I didn't really get the flavor of French toast, but either way it was still very flavorful and we enjoyed it. Afterwards we walked down to the pier to walk off some of the carbs we had just eaten. I love showing people this place and I will continue to return for their donuts .

couldn't leave o'side without trying parlor doughnuts!! they're the croissant-doughnut style and so finger-licking good. the outside is slightly crispy and the interior is flaky and airy and fluffy. i got their sandy beach which had vanilla glaze w cinnamon and powdered sugar, it gets a little messy to eat but its part of the experience. super delicious but gets a little overly sweet towards the end. they also have savory ones which i will most definitely be back for next time!!

The best donuts I have had, period. This place came highly recommended an I am glad I listened. The storefront is pretty basic but definitely classy. The staff were very friendly and conversational. Everything they had on the menu looked great and it took my wife and I the better part of our morning lurking on their website to narrow down what we wanted. That was even more difficult once I saw how great everything looked in person. These donuts were fresh, chewy in the best way, and not a hint of being greasy. I feel like this is a mandatory stop when you're in town.

Beyond Disappointing. Please note this review is specifically for the Vegan & Gluten Free Donuts. I'll gladly update this review if there are updated/changes to these options. For a place that takes pride (clearly visible in their regular donuts), why the hell would you put vegan & gluten free in the same donut without providing regular vegan options too? To top it off, all the donuts are $4.25 EACH for the tiniest bite size donut. It doesn't matter what kind of toppings, frosting, glaze etcetera that you put on it, a gluten free item is tasteless (or I should say tastes the exact same with a worse after taste than any regular dairy made donut). Also for those that are unaware, most gluten free items are dry too. It doesn't say on the menu nor did the very sweet & kind hostess that helped us tell me about them until after I asked her what those little tiny things the Pastry Chef was making in the back. She said those are your donuts & proceeded to tell me they were baked not fried & that they were both vegan & gluten free. I was ordering these donuts thinking that they had the option of EITHER vegan OR gluten free options. Very disappointing considering I researched this space & was told by local friends that it's a must. The regular donuts look absolutely gorgeous & taste (I had to stay neutral about the overall venue & took a bite of my Girlfriends donut) pretty damn good. Do better on the Vegan & Gluten Free donuts. Keep up the high integrity & high quality product that you showcase in the glass cases up front. I'll look forward to coming back in the future. Hopefully there will be some better options (I'm back in town in November). Thank you Team Parlor Doughnuts for the overall hospitality.

We stopped into Parlor Doughnuts in Oceanside this morning and really enjoyed it. We got there right when they opened and had no trouble ordering, and the case was already full of fresh options. The shop itself has a clean, old-school look to it, and it's a good kind of busy inside with people coming in for coffee and boxes to go. We picked out a mix of flavors -- s'mores, churro, raspberry pistachio, strawberry shortcake, and bourbon pecan. All of them were light and layered, almost like a croissant doughnut, and the texture stood out right away. The churro was coated nicely with cinnamon sugar, the raspberry pistachio had a bright flavor and a good crunch from the nuts, and the s'mores one had that classic chocolate and marshmallow combo. The strawberry shortcake was one of our favorites with the whipped topping and real berry flavor, and the bourbon pecan was rich without being too sweet.

CHILL LITTLE SHOP w/ mid-tier donut options. I stopped by per my Mom's recommendation as we heard good things about Parlor. It's a pretty big donut organization now across the US, so we decided to try it. I wasn't a major fan of the bread ratio inside my "Sandy Beach" donut. My mom and some other reviews said they're going for a cronut style of pastry. However, this wasn't flaky nor tasted like a cronut. It just felt like an excessive amount of bread without flavor, aside from the top and outer bread layer. The flavor wasn't bad on the outside (it was actually pretty good), however the inside was very underwhelming. Its a shame as the outside of the "donut" tasted like a mix of apple pie and cinnamon roll. I'll give the shop credit for their tasty coffee, I loved my layered cold brew! Service was also hit or miss, a young couple in front of me was treated poorly. I didn't like that. I was treated pretty well, but I hate to see other people my age get mistreated. Only one younger guy (an employee) who was working double time had a nice attitude. My Dad and I were disappointed as the autumn specialty items were not available. This was not a inventory issue, they just didn't have anything ready. I wasn't a fan of the decor, it just was too over the top in some places. I did enjoy the lighting and retro feel, but it felt like this location was trying too hard with the excessive decorations in the background. The bathroom was gross and unkempt. Overall, there's lots of improvements needed at this location, however I believe in second chances so I want to try their other items, maybe I'll be surprised?

Great doughnut options! The flavors were delicious, and I really enjoyed the crispiness of the doughnuts -- you can tell they're freshly made. That said, the cleanliness of the location could use some improvement. The glass display was a bit dirty, and there were quite a few bees flying around the doughnuts, which was a little off-putting. Parking is limited, and while there's outdoor seating available, it could also use a good wipe-down. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience better overall.

What's not to like... we didn't get here until after 1pm... they were sold out on several different flavors.. ..my sister ordered a maple bacon donut and I ordered a blueberry ..... both were delicious... my sister also wanted a Parlor tee-shirt... We stumbled across Parlor Donuts on Yelp while searching for a breakfast place walking distance from our Oceanside accommodations. The pictures and reviews alone left our mouths watering. After all, who doesn't love an occasional donut? We both looked at each other and said, want to go, more or less simultaneously. And... WOW! Just wow. First, what a cute place. Right in the thick of things in downtown Oceanside, near the walkway to the pier on Cleveland St. N., it's open-aired, whimsically decorated, and super functional in terms of moving people through quickly. There's plenty of outdoor seating, too. And, THE DONUTS! The first thing that strikes you is the amazing and super interesting variety -- all laid out for you in a big display case. We originally thought we would share one donut, but once we were standing in front of the display case that idea went right out the window. We each chose two of the most enticing (to us) flavors I thinking we would eat one at the shop and take the two remaining donuts home with us. That mostly worked, but we each took a bite out of the one that we were intending to take home. After one bite we knew right away we had never eaten a better donut. The flavor combinations are excellent and the doughy insides and slightly crispy outside were super flavorful. We are not sure if we made a mistake going here our first morning in Oceanside or not. We're afraid we will go back too often before we leave. Lol. If you ever visit Oceanside you MUST go here. (No need to address the locals, they already know!)

If you haven't been here, you need to. Hands down one of the best doughnut shops I've ever tried. It's not like your traditional donut, more of a cronut but the flavors are explosive and melt in your mouth. My favorite flavor is the maple bacon, try it you won't regret it! read more

Retrain your employees. This shouldn't have happened. I asked the employee serving me if a particular donut has peanuts and she said no so I bought one for my son. My son has a peanut allergy just peanuts. He used a spoon that I had since this place doesn't have knives or forks. He told me his lips hurt so I ate a piece and I tasted peanuts. One worker came out to deliver something to other people so I asked her. She said the turtle cheesecake had peanuts. I was pissed. I went to the counter and the girl making the coffee to inform the red haired girl if someone asks what has peanuts she should know. Retrain your employees. I threw the donut away and of course the girls behind the counter did not offer a refund or another donut. What a bad experience. read more

Came in here after a friend suggested it. Super interesting place, nice location and very clean with friendly staff inside. Was expecting more of a doughnut than a pastry type. For me it was a little misleading. We had got a couple to try, not sure if it was because of the timing we got them but our's were a little on the dry side. They definitely have some good mixed flavors but just didn't do it for us. Would recommend to try but just realize what you are getting. read more

I hate to give this review because the doughnut are so good but the customer service is awful. I am an Oceanside native and was here visiting my family. Was pleased to see how the downtown area has evolved and was looking forward to experiencing the new shops and eateries. During my morning beach walks I would see a line wrapped around this doughnut shop and was excited to finally see what the hype was all about. I have gone twice and both times the person taking my order was short with me and seemed to have an attitude. Took my dad during my second visit on my way to the airport and even he was uncomfortable. Not sure if it's a racist thing, a privilege millennial thing, or a gentrification thing. Either way will not be coming back during my next visit and will be sure to discourage any friends and family from supporting Parlor doughnuts which is a shame because the donuts are amazing. read more

We always stop here during our bike rides. The donuts are always fresh and tasty. They're surprisingly light unlike most donuts, so be careful not to eat too many! So delicious! They have a water dispenser and cups, which is always appreciated! The employees are patient and kind with my children who can have trouble making quick decisions and changing their minds. Nice shaded tables outside too. Great people watching spot. read more

These are not your average donuts! Parlor Doughnuts has perfected a donut recipe that is super airy and flaky, and they don't mess around with the toppings. I had a hard time deciding which flavor I was going to get- considering how large they are, there was no way I was going to be able to eat more than one. I ended up settling for the Sandy Beach, which had a vanilla glaze and a hint of cinnamon with powdered sugar on top. It was the perfect amount of sweet for me, but if you don't like sugary treats, I don't know if these are the donuts for you. The good news is they offer complementary water cups to wash down your donut if you decide not to try one of their drinks! My friend got the iced chai, which looked a little milky but she said it still had good flavor. The shop is just a grab-and-go counter, but there's plenty of outdoor seating for you to relax and chat. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely stop by to try more of their flavors! read more

Donuts were fresh and unique! Pricier than a refit donut, but in my opinion worth it. The more you order the cheaper it is per donut. I would suggest getting 4 or more to make it worth it. Donuts were good the next day as well. They make a good little gift treat and they make boxes for 2 donuts. Have made the drive to go back more than once. Line can get long, but it's worth the wait and moves fairly quickly. Also a decent amount of seat outside and close to the beach! read more

Was hoping to update this review and make it 5 stars but throughout this year, I had made a few attempts to visit both the Solana Beach and Oceanside locations and being disappointed that they were closed for various reasons. I understand it has been never ending weird times but I live in Ramona which is a bit of a distance and it would be nice if notices/updates were put onto their Instagrams more often to save the drive and disappointment ): But I love the donuts here so hopefully I just caught them at bad times and it isn't a regular occurrence. Donuts are amazing! My favorite is the Reese's peanut butter and the raspberry pistachio. I also love their lavender iced coffee! Sadly the staff is a bit lackluster and kinda rude. They were audibly complaining in front of my family the last time we went (I've been twice). And both times I've been, they've obviously made it clear they don't want to be there. Also it didn't bother me, but last time I went, there were bees EVERYWHERE on the inside! I think they are attracted to the sweet smell. I love bees, but for people allergic, I could see how that would be alarming. But, it's DEFINITELY worth the delicious donuts! I will be back. read more

Amazing gourmet doughnuts!!! The first time I went was for Mother's Day around 8am and there was a bit of a line but the staff was working fast. My favorite was the churro doughnut. Very soft, fresh, and flaky. I came back again for the wife's Birthday and showed up right when they opened. They were stiff setting up but the staff prepared all of the doughnuts that I asked for on the spot. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back read more

The donuts are amazing the French toast dpi it is my favorite. You can see why there is always a line. My dog loves the dog donuts. There is great seething outside but not so much on the inside. The service is great and you won't be in line to long. If you are by ocean side pier this is a must stop. read more

The donuts are amazing and reasonably priced for the quality. It's like a pillowy soft yeasty croissant with a fried donut exterior topped with quality grade frosting/glaze. So delicious. I think I have tried almost every flavor and I love the strawberry cream and blueberry most. I get two boxes each time I go and microwave the left overs for 15 seconds. They still tasted great despite being up to two days old. One donut is the size of my hand-huge. Favorite place to visit when in Oceanside with my family. read more

Stumbled upon this new doughnut shop walking around downtown. They have a nice open air patio out front and really cute, unique decor inside. We didn't know all of the donuts were "cronuts" but we were definitely not disappointed! I haven't had a cronut in years since they became super popular but they were all so good! All the donuts seem to have the same sugar base and croissant style inside, it's just their toppings are what made them unique. They had a nice display of the flavors and even had an extensive food and coffee menu which all sounded good. They even had a Keto friendly donut! We opted for getting a half dozen and the prices were beyond fair especially for a gourmet specialty donut. The prices get even cheaper the more you buy! The donuts were all delicious and yes, very sweet. The staff was very friendly and I have been thinking about these donuts since we ate them so I'll be coming back again soon. read more

The only downside is that parking is sometimes difficult. However, with that being said, if you've never tried the banana- espresso combination, this is the place to do it!

The mint iced coffee was off too (we've had better at other locations).. Other people (before and after us) were growing furious and impatient. While the person at the register was friendly and kind - the speed and turn around time for drinks was lacking. There seemed to be no sense of urgency even as the line inside grew longer and longer - both the line to order and the line at the pickup counter. A family of four was seated at a table when we walked in. When we left, I noticed someone from that particular table walking up to the pickup counter still waiting for their drink... If I waited 30 minutes for my drink, how much longer did they wait? Yikes! It might've been an off day, who knows, but it was pretty terrible. All in all, while the food is good and the location is convenient - I will probably stick to ordering items on the menu vs. ordering something like a cortado for any future visits.

After waiting in a very long line, we were told that this place only accepts exact change. What? Our bill came to $7.31 and we attempted to pay with a $10 bill. They said they could not give us back change, so we would have to give them an extra $2.69 if we wanted our donut and juice. Who owns this place? The girl behind the counter didn't seem to see anything wrong with extorting money from cash paying customers. So I remarked that if we wanted our purchase, one of of would get screwed. Either she gives it to us for $5 and the business eats the $2.31, or we give her $10 and we get screwed out of $2.69. What type of people run a business this way? After the consistently long line of people, they have NO CHANGE to run a business ethically? I grew up in a family business and if we were ever this ill-prepared, we would never expect our customers to take on the burden of our stupidity by claiming that the cash drawer only had "pennies" which the girl at the counter tried to tell us. Our business is still open and thriving 48 years later, I doubt Parlor Doughnuts will ever enjoy that longevity treating customers this way. What a joke this place is! read more

Parlor Doughnuts in Oceanside is hands down the best donut spot in town. From the very first bite you can taste the quality, freshness, and creativity in every donut. The layered dough is perfectly soft, buttery, and crispy at the same time -- unlike any regular donut. Every flavor we tried was absolutely incredible, especially the French Toast and Churro. You can truly tell they put passion into everything they make. The service was just as amazing as the donuts. The staff was welcoming, friendly, patient, and made the whole experience feel warm and inviting from the moment we walked in. I like donuts but I'm not crazy about them. These donuts however are a different story. These donuts are the perfect amount of crispy, fresh and not too terribly sweet!
