i've been coming here for YEARS, hands down my favorite coffee spot in Oceanside. majority of the girls are some of the sweetest girls!!! unfortunately i've had two separate problems with one specific employee- the first incident was months ago, the girl taking my order rudely told me to "speak up", not "can you speak up? i can't hear you" or "could you please speak up? i can't hear you" just simply "speak up". today, i heard that same girl and another employee bad mouthing another one of the girls there. it was a really uncomfortable, unprofessional and an all around unfortunate situation. you never know who knows who so please be mindful of what's being said when a customer is at the window!!! I'm excited to see that they are still in business.i still have my punchcard but haven't been in a while. Also glad to see more locations popping up. Great coffee with convenient drive-thru! A bit small but still fit my full size truck through it They have a lot of coffee, tea, and fizzy drink flavors including sugar free options. There's also hot cocoa and shakes for the kids. There's some pastries too (muffins, cake pop, coffee cake). Despite being a small operation they move quick and great service! Definitely a solid option, I prefer slightly over Dutch Bros nearby. Will be back when in the area! read more

I don't love black rock coffee I really tried to love them, they're just okay Overpriced and a lot of times my iced drink is still warm from them not pouring my espresso over ice! The girls are always kind, but kindness doesn't make my coffee taste better for $8 I wish I could keep coming here but with the competition of Starbucks , Dutch bros, and dunkin all on the same strip I think I won't be getting them again. Always been an OG favorite despite having so many competitions around. I either get Caramel Blondie or Caramel Truffle. They both taste great! Just slow down though as you approach it because you might miss the spot since it's kinda smacked in the middle of a parking lot. When you arrive at a bad time, the line is confusing since everyone is just snaking around the lot. At times, they have someone step out so you can order ahead and keep the line moving fast. My boyfriend and I were heading up to OC/LA one weekend and wanted to stop somewhere for coffee. I found this little place on Yelp nearby and decided to check it before continuing my drive up. The location that I stopped by is located in the middle of a parking lot on between Taco Bell and Thai Table Time on Oceanside Blvd in Oceanside. It's an order through your car and go kind of coffee bar where I had to line up behind cars around the lot. It was kind of chaotic when we went because we went through the wrong way and due to that, we had to drive around, and 5 cars had already gone in front of us saaad. Pro tip: enter from the Thai Table Time parking entrance side instead of Taco Bell side. We got their Blackout (hazelnut mocha) with less sweetness to share. I was kind of skeptical as I'm not a huge mocha lover, but wow, I was thoroughly impressed! It wasn't overly sweet and had such a nice coffee fragrance in it. I could still taste the coffee among the hazelnut and mocha flavors, and it was darn good! This small pit stop ended up being a great stop as I loved my drink a lot! Always love visiting Black rock coffee bar whenever I can get the chance. This isn't necessarily close to me, but it's worth the drive in my opinion. And of course whenever I'm in Arizona I'd love to grab some drinks there. My go to would be the iced Mexican mocha And then there's another one kind of a caramel drink that I also get. Coming in the mornings, there could be a line throughout the parking lot, but it moves pretty quick because they have their team taking orders in the parking lot. Today, the female order taker with shoulder length brown hair was super friendly and nice. I also picked up a pup cup, which I think is far better than any of the other places that offer them. They put a little milk bone on top and my dogs love it. My drink was made perfectly with the right amount of flavor and ice. The pick up window was also very friendly and nice. If you're new here, you might wanna look up the menu before you get here, especially when they have the line queuing around the parking lot because you won't be able to reach the menu board in time. There's nowhere to sit and have a drink so you kinda have to take it with you. Cool vibes overall. read more

I really do love Blackrock coffee! After a frustrating situation at the Vista location, I started going to Oceanside instead. So far, the staff has been great and the line passes pretty quickly but I almost swallowed a bee in my matcha today. Decided to give Starbucks a break and try out this spot for the first time. I can understand why typical chains are overrated. I ordered a small ice coffee made with half vanilla, hazelnut and almond milk. It turned out perfect, not too sweet either. The only downfall was it was a bit pricey. I paid like $6.20 for a small coffee but at least I can say it was worth it. So the taste balanced out the price. Wouldn't mind going back. read more

What an excellent coffee stop! It is a small, drive thru only location. They just need to get a light over the menu as it was hard to read after dark. The coffee is well worth it. I ordered an Irish Cream Latte and it was excellent. They are open until 8:00 PM on Sundays, which is why we drove 10 minutes out of the way since most other places closed up between 4:00 and 6:00. The barista was very nice and went over the menu options with us. Be sure to sign up for their rewards program - you'll get a free medium coffee during your next visit. Man I miss my Black Rock! I used to live and work in the O (still live here) but before my new job put an end to it, I had a wonderful routine of my pre-work surfy followed by a Black Rock on the way to the job. A beautiful morning. The girls were always there with a smile, and their service was not only friendly but quick! The ideal combo! It's been over a year since those days ended and honestly, I just now realized that I don't even drink coffee anymore. And it began on that very day my routine stopped. It's not all that bad though. I love my new gig, it pays more...and, one more thing...my now 15 year old daughter has discovered Black Rock!!! The last few weekends I've been the wheels to take her to get her latter fix. So here I show up after a full year plus, and there's the girls (different ones I think??) but still smiling and slangin delicious dranks with voltage! I'm back...sort of! I had initially found Black Rock while in Arizona and was pleasantly surprised to find one in San Diego! The baristas were very friendly while taking our order and at the window while we waited for our drinks, asking about our day and such. We got the I.V. and the caramel blondie, both with oat milk. The drinks were great and balanced enough that you could taste the flavor and espresso. We'll be back again when we're in the area! read more

Haven't been here in over 3 years due to being overseas. I ordered the Iced Mexican Mocha and it "Fueled my Story" at 5 am on a Wednesday !! HUMP DAY!!! Jokes aside, the Iced Mexican Mocha was delicious, refreshing, and just what I needed to start my day running off limited sleep. The staff were nice, helpful, and cheery at 5 am and I love it. Came across Black Rock Coffee on DoorDash when we were staying in Oceanside. They have quite a bit of coffee selections as well as flavored teas. Both drinks we ordered in DoorDash came out quite good. The coconut one they had on the special menu could have had more coconut flavor, but the coffee itself was smooth. Great thing is, although the drinks were sweet, you can still taste the coffee. We liked it so much we tried it a second time before leaving Oceanside. We happen to be near the coffee bar, and we were surprised to find out it was a small, drive-thru shop. It totally had a Dutch Bros. vibe. We ordered our drinks for pick-up and just gave our name when we drove up. The barista was SOOOOOOO friendly, pleasant, and animated. She totally made our experience. Popular and quick little drive through coffee shop. I was super tired and was leaning towards getting the I.V. drink. Staff was super helpful with my questions about caffeine content and how I might feel drinking this specific drink. I ultimately followed through with getting the I.V. which consists of Irish cream, vanilla breve with 6 shots. Yeah, 6 shots of espresso!! Not only was this drink delicious but it BROUGHT ME BACK TO LIFE!!
