The churro donut was sold out when we got to the front of the line but then they brought some fresh ones out! So naturally, I had to try one! We also got a carnival donut (this was ok - mostly just sprinkles), and a strawberry shortcake donut. All so delicious! Our favorite by far was the churro one (not pictured). Stopped in on our morning walk around Oceanside while visiting friends. Interesting lil donut shop with some quirky historical flair to it, the donuts looked great so we ordered a sandy beach and maple bacon to go. The maple bacon was outstanding and super delicious! Amazing. Best doughnuts I've had in my entire 36 years of life. So good that we went two days in a row. Would have been more days if we didn't live in 40 minutes away. Oh, man! I was really looking forward to having my mouth explode with sheer deliciousness! I mean, we weren't too disappointed what wifey ordered was fantastic. However, mine was like biting into a doughnut with cold butter as a spread. Wifey said it was cream cheese. but since when is cream cheese yellow? The coffee was lukewarm and that didn't go well with cold butter. :)) The service was impeccable though! The young men were very polite and nice. That made up for the cool coffee and cold doughnut. I should have gone back and had them heat it up but it wasn't that serious to walk back for. The next time we will have them heat them up and make sure the coffee is hot as well. My bad! Visiting from Florida, daughter (lives nearby) suggested we go there, but had a very good tip - to avoid the very significant sugary coatings, one may ask the staff attending your order to get a freshly prepared donut before topping, and they will sprinkle a fresh donut with cinnamon and a dash of sugar. I had a Saturday getaway with my mom recently and we stopped at Parlor to try these unique looking doughnuts! We parked on the street (but there is a structure!) and walked right in luckily with no line at all. First glance of the interior, it was messy - the merch was sorted through, unfolded and sparse. The glass holding all the doughnuts was really dirty and messy, granted the icing and powdered sugar toppings doesn't help but it should be cleaned out. It was almost hard to see the doughnuts and read the titles because of it. We ordered the sandy beach, french toast, bourbon caramel and the blueberry hill plus two cappuccinos. For anyone who enjoys a simple style glazed type, get the sandy beach. For those that love maple, get the french toast. For those that love a sticky bun or gooey caramel, get the bourbon caramel. And for those who love blueberry anything, the blueberry hill is for you. I really enjoyed the french toast maple icing a lot but the bourbon caramel had the perfect texture and least amount of sugary icing. In fact, it was so good that I went back to Parlor before flying home so that I could continue to savor it back home! On my first experience, I went with the blueberry. The blueberry glaze was deliciously fragrant without being too sweet. I'll also say that this donut tasted better to me being pulled apart than being bitten. When I pulled it apart, I could actually detect the butteriness of the layered donut so much more which really drew me in! Came in with my family on a Friday morning. This place is FILTHY! The cart that has all of the coffee things on it has thick, visible dirt, hair and clumps of dust bunnies on it! The floor is disgusting. It also smells like old fry oil inside. The donut case had dried icing dripped on the inside showing that a different flavor donut used to be there. The case had smears all over it and made everything look really unappetizing. Adult daughter ordered a 2 Vegan donuts and the consistency was like chalky, dense Playdough. This is my second time at Parlor Doughnuts. The first time was amazing, 10/10 for customer service and taste. This time however, the two girls "helping" at the front were so incredibly rude and extremely unhelpful. None of the doughnuts had signs to indicate their flavors, so my friends and I asked what the flavors were and one of the girls said "the flavors are whatever you see on top" and then proceeded to say 3 different flavors and did not explain anything else. I obviously still had no idea what the rest of the flavors were and had the ask the other girl what each one was and she could not have been more bothered by me. She made me feel so uncomfortable and dumb for asking what the UNLABELED doughnut flavors are. I didn't even ask for every flavor, just the ones that looked yummy. My other friends were so appalled by the rudeness and lack of service they didn't order anything and the only reason I did was because I had promised my dad I would get him something. Afterwards, we told the girls how rude they were and they pretended not to listen or care. Considering that the regular donuts looked so giant and not so appealing to me, I asked the employee about the gluten free options and which one would she recommend. She said the blueberry flavor, so I went ahead with it. We also got the jelly filled regular donut. The gluten-free donut is about 1/3 of the size of the regular ones but I didn't care because it was delicious!!!! Considering that I don't like sweets, I ended up eating just 1/4 of the donut and after 2 days, I still have 1/4 of it left. Lol Regardless of my unusual sweets eating habit, surprisingly I enjoyed the donut. Let me tell you, this is not like everyone else's Cronuts for 3 reasons: not oily tasting, not overly sweet, and not overly dry. The way I would describe these cronuts is like having a fluffy donut and a crispy croissant. It flakes and crunches but yet chewy and soft. I'm still drooling writing this review. My only cons are: trash bins were overflowed so while we were eating outdoors it was unappetizing. Also bees flew into the donut windows so that was a bit weird to see bugs with your donuts. Lastly, do pass on the iced earl grey tea. They literally take cold ice water and throw a tea bag in it. Coffee was subpar too, more acidic and was served Luke warm. Visiting OC with friends we stopped at Parlor Doughnuts, an establishment that prides themselves on layered donuts (crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside), for a pre-dinner snack. The donuts were huge! They also offer gluten-free and keto. I stopped again later in the week with even more friends and wanted to share these scrumptious treats. Wow, I was disappointed! The donuts were doughy and not fluffy. I talked with the young man behind the counter and explained to him my disappointment and asked what happened to the doughnuts? He asked me what day I was there. When I told him, he smiled from ear to ear and said, "I baked the doughnuts on the day they were fluffier!" We were vacationing in Oceanside and on our last day, decided to take a quick walk around Downtown Oceanside before checking out of our Airbnb. We found this coffee and doughnut shop so we ventured in. There were three girls working and they were very welcoming. I am used to Starbucks coffee (I know, I know) and I am newer in the whole Matcha trend and when I explained that to the barista, she said she knew just what to do and would still be able to give me a real matcha experience. She absolutely delivered. My drink was delicious. My daughter, son, father in law and husband all got doughnuts as well and those were quickly devoured so I am also saying those were delicious too. This place sits on the corner right before the main strip to the ocean. It's definitely very cute and has a relaxed vibe. There's some tables and seating outside to enjoy your coffee and donut too! Generally I like a more balanced dessert. Not so cloyingly sweet, but where you can differentiate between the flavors that the item it supposed to be. While I really love the concept (layered donut) it gets lost in the sugary frenzy of flavors. I could see someone with an extreme sweet tooth enjoying this, so I realize this perspective is completely subjective. We have not returned or really bad a craving for another Parlor Doughnut, sadly. Staff was pretty friendly. We did notice counters and general areas were super dirty and messy, even though when we were there it was pretty slow and not much of a line.
