Kudos to this very busy location on their service. We tend to stay away from most of the chain restaurants because of the noise but this location is a very well run establishment. On a busy Friday evening, we were seated right away and service was quick and friendly, despite it being a packed house. All smiles from an efficient team that works well. read more

We live in Monroe but don't go to this Outback as often as we go to the one in Middletown. Why? The Outback in Monroe is almost always out of prime rib dinner. It's so silly!!! The service is always good but what's the deal with always being out of Prime Rib as a dinner??? Just ate at Outback Steakhouse after a day at Holiday Mountain. Service was quick and efficient. Tiffany was super nice and helpful in helping us choose our entrees and kept our water and bread coming. I came here with family when we were leaving from Woodbury Outlets and we wanted something to eat that was close by. We decided on Outback and it was alright. I went there in a huge group and for the size of the group, the service was very good. The waiter was very attentive and was very helpful in getting everything we needed. The food was alright overall. We started with some volcano shrimp, coconut shrimp, and the blooming onion. My uncle joked that the volcano shrimp had the flavor of the little zesty onion sauces from burger king. The coconut shrimp was alright. However, that blooming onion. One bite and I just couldn't eat any more. It tasted like it was drowned in oil. For our entrees, we had a lot of food. I had a wood-fired ribeye, medium rare, with a side of mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes. The mushrooms were sauteed in butter and was quite tasty. The steak was also cooked to the right temperature too, but lacked the wood fired flavor I was looking for. The garlic mash was good though. Very delicious (or maybe that's just because I have a soft spot for garlic mash). My girlfriend got the salmon with the mango salsa. The mango was quite odd and I wasn't a fan of the salmon. Sweet potato was supposedly very good though. Four of the 7 people at the table had it and thought it was delicious. It came with a cinnamon sugary butter. The lamb was quite good and the sauce that came with it was very flavorful. The entire family ordered a bunch of food, but overall, it was meh. The Mac n cheese was terrible!! So dry, I'm so sad. It literally takes butter, flour, cheese, pasta. I have had better Kraft Mac n cheese out of the box with powder cheese. The asparagus was burnt woody and 4 stalks for 4.99 the ribs were riblets. 2inches long. The grilled chicken was good not too dry. Visited Outback about two weeks ago & I have to say it was an amazing experience. I don't believe every location is the same but in Monroe they get it right. Honestly we expected average service with average steaks at the table and when we dug into our steaks boy were we surprised. The night had a relatively light crowd so service was prompt and the meals better than expected. I haven't been in an Outback in fifteen years or more, but had a craving for Alice Springs Chicken so we ordered UberEats. The food arrived in exactly one hour, which was a fair amount of time. The Bloomin' Onion was completely saturated with oil. Pretty much inedible. The Sydney 'Shrooms were soggy, not at all crispy. The Caesar side salad and bread were the best part of the meal. Most disappointing was the Alice Springs Chicken, which was the whole reason I ordered from Outback in the first place. The fries were soggy and they forgot the honey mustard sauce for the chicken. It also had a slightly burnt taste. I don't think I'll be eating at any Outback restaurant ever again. read more

I am giving this Outback 5 stars. It is far and beyond all of the other Outbacks I have been to. I usually visit with a friend who passes at least 2 other Outbacks on her way up to the Monroe location. I will sometimes use the call ahead seating on their app, but I find that even without it, there usually isn't much of a wait. The food is always served quickly with great attention to detail. I have NEVER had my medium-rare steak cooked anything other than medium-rare. Nothing is worse than an over cooked steak :) At our last visit, a completely unreasonable family sat at the booth behind the one I was sitting in. They acted as though they had never been out in public, let alone a dining establishment. They were rude, had unrealistic expectations (they tried ordering from the host as they were being sat, who politely informed them that their server would be right over to take their order), and believed they could magically tell the exact weight of a steak from afar. The former server in me wanted to give them a piece of my mind especially when they badmouthed the perfectly lovely server they had to the manager ("she needs to smile more"). I tell you all of that to tell you this - the server and the manager could not have handled it any better. They were polite, respectful, and helpful despite dealing with a bunch of idiots. That is the kind of service you will get at this particular Outback. Even if you're a rude moron, you will still be treated respectfully. If you're a normal person, you will have a wonderful experience. Kudos to the Outback in Monroe, NY. The only chain restaurant that I love. read more

Like an idiot, I left an item behind and didn't realize it until two days later. I called and surprisingly, Corey told me that he had the item. Thinking I was going to have drive back from the city to pick it up, Corey went way above and beyond to get the item back to me. I didn't have to lift a finger. When your appetizer comes 4 minutes after your main courses arrive...there's a friggin' problem! Especially when it was specifically asked for to be brought out first. When the main courses arrived, we had figured screw it, they forgot to put it in. When said appetizer, the Coconut Shrimp...which they quote as "Their Signature Appetizer" sucks so bad and has zero flavor, you realize this BS was taken out of a box in their walk in freezer and deep fried quickly. Their steaks sucked too, thanks for the $22 piece of fat and grizzle with zero flavor and that was horribly cooked. Appreciate it. It was not what you'd expect from a chain. For entree I had the strip steak - it was perfect- medium rare. My mom had fajitas and the pasta. And that bread!
