***would be two stars, but the fact that they can't communicate with their customers without the use of a generic ChatGPT sounding robot tells you all you need to know about the pride they put into their menu and service*** Family has been coming here every Christmas Eve for over a decade now. I'm not sure why. I've suggested other places, but we're suckers for tradition I suppose. On this last visit we were there at 5pm with our party of 11. Felt rushed from the start. The waiter seemed more concerned with us leaving than taking care of the table. Never asked or offered a refill on our glasses of wine. Never asked how food was (avoid the salmon). I had to go to the bar myself to get some lemon wedges because he didn't check up. One of the dishes did not come out until the rest of the party was nearly finished (a pizza). We waited as long as we could for the pizza to show up before starting our own meals. Not that it mattered that much... potatoes were cold anyway. At 6:30 during coffee and some light gift exchanges the waiter started bussing the table telling us a party of 13 was waiting. Srsly?? Table waiting 101: that's a no-no. I guess the restaurant only set aside an hour and change for a party of 11.... Which is not our problem as diners. If you do decide to go, make sure you don't sit near the heater. We made the mistake of forgetting to request that this time though we should've learned from the past (two years ago it was singeing leg hairs and we had to change our manner of sitting in order to try to escape it). They will not turn it down because it "heats the entire restaurant." We agreed when we were leaving: never again. Tradition be damned.

Our family spent the day at Legoland and didn't want to eat dinner at the Legoland resort. We googled restaurants nearby and found Rustic Wheelhouse. It's less than a 10 minute drive from Legoland and we are so glad we found it. The restaurant is cozy and as the name suggests rustic. The service was friendly and attentive. I had the Tuscan Kale salad and loved it. The hazelnut added a nice crunch to the salad. We also ordered the crab cakes, although we were not a big fan of the sauce the crab cakes itself were cooked perfectly. My daughter loved her personal kids pizza and we also had the Neapolitan. If you like thin crust pizza, they make a good brick oven thin crust pizza. For dessert we got the brownie sundae & crème brûlée. The brownie & chocolate ganache was warm & went well with the vanilla ice cream. We would definitely come back again if we are in the area.

The food was really delicious. Pizza, Caesar salad and mozzarella sticks especially. My son also liked the mussels. The service was a bit slow as they seemed to have only one server and a bartender working. But we will be back!

I totally forgot to review this place. I actually found it by using AI to plan a trip and it recommended I stop here for dinner. I really enjoyed the rustic interior. Food was good especially the pizza! Our waitress was super nice I definitely recommend trying this place,

Hidden gem! Family run restaurant vibes! The staff were attentive even though they were busy on Sunday night. There was also live music at around 7PM which was wonderful. The grilled octopus was the highlight; it was probably the best I've ever had!! Pasta and French onion soup were good. I don't think we'd get the pizza again. Overall, everything was amazing and we can't wait to go back! Pro tip- there's parking in the back!

Classic French Onion Soup

Went there on a weekday for lunch. We were the only table at the time, so there was no wait. The food was good -- the pizza was better than most of the pizza in Manhattan. It's also worth mentioning that the waitress was very professional and friendly; she definitely deserves a raise.

Rigatoni Bolognese and chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Great food and very cute location. Would for sure come back again. Food came out super quick too. We ordered the bolognese, rustic steak, and chicken Alfredo for entrees. For appetizer we did the octopus, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks and two French onions. EVERYTHING so good.

Finally visited this establishment. Great small town vibe ! Food and service were excellent! Restroom was clean and tidy. Seating was comfortable and spaced out nicely .

Welcome to the wheelhouse.

This restaurant was just a wonderful experience. From the moment we were greeted at the door through the wonderful meal we ate. The server who took care of us was a wonderful woman. She came by as soon as we sat down and made sure that we were going to have a good experience there. Just loved the very rustic 'look and feel' of this shop. Clearly, they have been around for a while. A prior reviewer used the word "charming." A perfect word for this restaurant. We started with the delicious and plentiful Fried Calamari. Beer battered and served with a spicy and regular tomato sauce. These were good. Nice and crispy on the outside and tender on inside. My wife had the onion soup which was hot and tasty, with plenty of onions. Everything was perfect. Helene had the Wheelhouse Chicken. Grilled marinated chicken breast served with sautéed broccoli rabe and mashed potatoes. Everything was wonderful, perfectly cooked and all very tasty. I had the Lasagna, since I can never pass up and good Lasagna. This was awesome-saucy-meeting with wonderful pasta. Our friend had the Hanger steak over risotto. Tender, tasty and plentiful. We're looking forward to a followup trip to the area and a second dinner there. It's worth the trip!

The kitchen was a bit backed up, and the service was a bit slow, but it was worth the wait because the food was absolutely delicious!

It's a popular family restaurant so the ambiance is noisy but the food is fabulous. Service is great too.

The second you walk in, the vibe is cozy and upscale, complete with crisp white linen tablecloths that give it a nice touch of elegance without feeling stuffy. They start the experience off right with drinks and a basket of fresh, warm bread--which is a huge hit with my mother-in-law every time we visit. We started with the Pasta e Fagioli soup, meatball appetizer, and calamari. Everything arrived quickly and was incredibly flavorful. For the mains, we had a full spread including the Chicken Francese, Chicken del la Nonna, Penne alla Norma, and the Salmon. The absolute showstopper, however, was the Special Pasta Dish (Carbonara). The presentation is amazing: the waiter actually heats vodka inside a massive cheese wheel to melt it down, making the pasta incredibly rich and cheesy right at the table. It's a "must-see" if you're a fan of authentic, indulgent Italian food. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal, making sure the whole family was taken care of. We really enjoyed the afternoon and will definitely be coming back again soon!

Recently paid our 4th visit to Valeria's, this time for a birthday celebration. As in the past,…read morefood was very good (with exception of the disappointingly small Oysters in the appetizer). Service was, as usual, slow - bread showed up 5 minutes after being seated, server after 10, drinks took almost another 10 minutes to arrive. Major complaint was with the bar (this time) I ordered a Manhattan on the rocks ($11.95 - house liquor). Server arrived with shaker and glass as for up. Corrected her and she returned with drink in rocks glass with the consistency of a "slushy". Apparently bartender just emptied the shaker over more ice. Had it replaced as "too weak", new one was equally weak as they use some sort of "pitted" ice clumps rather than clear cubes. Spouse's dry Martini up ($9.95 - Absolute) was heavy on vermouth, and second round shaker did not fill the glass (remade without asking), the replacement arrived already in a glass and seemed weak. House wine by the glass ($8) seemed to be a 4 oz. pour rather than the traditional 6 oz. Drinks are nowhere near the quality the prices would suggest. Also from ordering to drink arrival was 10 to 15 minutes. Coupled with the lag between clearing one course and delivering the next (15+ minutes), there were long gaps with no food or drink on the table. At one point, the manager asked if we needed anything (like food?) With the house less than 1/2 full, and lot's of staff on hand, there seemed to be a problem "keeping up". They have the food part knocked, now, if Valeria can restore the bar to it's previous "standards", and make its wait staff more efficient, this could be a 5 star establishment. Added: In looking at some of the other ratings, I should point out that, at the next table, there was a Mom and 3 boys (early teens). Boys wearing baggy cargo shorts, tank tops, and untied sneakers. Other diners wore everything from jeans and short shorts to jackets and dresses. There is no dress code, and given the décor, this could cost them an extra star from those that care.

Valeria's is now Hacienda! They have good Mexican food and great service!read more
