Restaurant is in a very nice and clean "small town downtown. " We had reservations and was seated within 15 minutes upon arrival. Inside was casual, quaint and everyone went above and beyond. For an appetizer, we went with the Margherita pizza, I had to get a French Onion Soup and for dinner I got the chicken parm with angel hair. Don't ask why, I was in the mood for it. The pizza was excellent. Fresh sauce and mootz. Slight crisp to the crust. We were all pleasantly surprised. The French Onion Soup was also done correctly. Properly seasoned and the perfect amount of cheese. The chicken parm was solid. A good portion of fresh chicken breasts. Sauce was solid. Perfect way to end the weekend. Our family spent the day at Legoland and didn't want to eat dinner at the Legoland resort. We googled restaurants nearby and found Rustic Wheelhouse. It's less than a 10 minute drive from Legoland and we are so glad we found it. The restaurant is cozy and as the name suggests rustic. The service was friendly and attentive. I had the Tuscan Kale salad and loved it. The hazelnut added a nice crunch to the salad. We also ordered the crab cakes, although we were not a big fan of the sauce the crab cakes itself were cooked perfectly. My daughter loved her personal kids pizza and we also had the Neapolitan. If you like thin crust pizza, they make a good brick oven thin crust pizza. For dessert we got the brownie sundae & crème brûlée. We waited as long as we could for the pizza to show up before starting our own meals. Not that it mattered that much... potatoes were cold anyway. At 6:30 during coffee and some light gift exchanges the waiter started bussing the table telling us a party of 13 was waiting. Srsly?? Table waiting 101: that's a no-no. I guess the restaurant only set aside an hour and change for a party of 11.... Which is not our problem as diners. If you do decide to go, make sure you don't sit near the heater. We made the mistake of forgetting to request that this time though we should've learned from the past (two years ago it was singeing leg hairs and we had to change our manner of sitting in order to try to escape it). They will not turn it down because it "heats the entire restaurant." We agreed when we were leaving: never again. Tradition be damned. read more

First time trying this restaurant, we live about 25 mins away, but attending an event in the area. Sat at the bar as we weren't sure if we were going to snack or have dinner. I absolutely love this place homemade pasta and delicious pizza. They have it all at this place. It is a nice quaint place to have dinner. It really is. The atmosphere is made to look rustic, but I love it. It is very quaint and cozy. I always have a good meal when I go there and I don't break the bank. They are very reasonable and their dishes are delicious. Everything is great and like I said I go there a lot so if you're in the neighborhood in Chester down Main Street where the old Bodles used to be go and check out the Rustic Wheelhouse they have drinks as well as food. Came here on a Sunday night. We were here with a group of 10. The Neapolitan pizza had a nice crust with the right amount of char from the wood-fired oven. The rigatoni Bolognese featured a rich, hearty sauce that clung beautifully to the pasta. The pasta had good al dente texture. The caprese salad was a refreshing complement, with nice tomatoes and creamy mozzarella. All the dishes were quite good and homemade.  Overall, we were surprised to find such a nice rustic homey Italian place -- as good as many traditional Italian places in NYC and Brooklyn. My wife had the onion soup which was hot and tasty, with plenty of onions. Everything was perfect. Helene had the Wheelhouse Chicken. Grilled marinated chicken breast served with sautéed broccoli rabe and mashed potatoes. Everything was wonderful, perfectly cooked and all very tasty. I had the Lasagna, since I can never pass up and good Lasagna. This was awesome-saucy-meeting with wonderful pasta. Our friend had the Hanger steak over risotto. Tender, tasty and plentiful. This was our first time at the Rustic Wheelhouse. The service was wonderful, the young lady who took care of us couldn't have been nicer. It wasn't very busy when we got there, but filled up quickly. It truly was a very pleasant experience and the decor was well done. There were 3 of us, we were out for my husband's birthday. He had Fettucine Alfredo, my daughter had Chicken Parm and I had Chicken Francese. We all enjoyed it so much! The portion size was so large I had to bring some home. She was a visitor to our table throughout the evening. The restaurant is SO cozy and what I loved the most was the service. So personal. Three of us decided to surprise them by joining them. The five were already seated and had beverages. The three of us who showed up late were willing to sit at a table close by. But waitresses wouldn't have it! They moved tables and our family's beverages to accommodate all of us at one table. They made it feel like it was their honor to have us! It's a rare quality today to make customers feel as welcomed as we did! To take it a step further the three of us who ordered received our food at the same time as the original five who ordered. I'm still awed at their hospitality toward our family. Their menu is full of Italian options from brick oven pizza to chicken Parmesan. The pizza is New York pizza perfection! Noticed mostly families with young children enjoying the pizza. The decor is very rustic reminiscent of a steak and grill place not an Italian restaurant. So... i order stuffed mushrooms, seasoning was good but very wet and steamed tasting and not hot until you cut into them. Hubby had the hot antipasto. The eggplant rollatini in it was divine and i quickly grabbed a bite. The accompaning clams casino and stuffed mussels were seasoned ok wet very wet and as you tried to grab a forkful the clams and mussels were still attached to the shell so the filling goes everywhere. Not pleasant. Next when in Rome...,,,,,so i ordered the margarita pizza. Sliced fresh tomatoes basil and very wet and bland. I was very disappointed since the place is charming but i found the food as unskilled. I decided to try a more traditional meal to compare and had the chicken francese which was one of the bes I have ever had in Orange County, NY. It was a gorgeous view. Being stuck in the city/suburb almost all of my life, I dream to be a country bumpkin again in the near future. I love everything country. We had Zach as our waiter. He was very attentive. Must have checked on us 4-5 times when we were having our late lunch. We had the BBQ wings which was moist and tender. We each grabbed a cheeseburger and side of regular fries. They were pretty good. For the sides, they did have waffle, steak and curly fries. We just wanted regular. We had lemonade and Yuengling. There were about 7-8 craft beers available via the keg/draft. I remember they had a stout by Roscoe Brewing Co, some double IPA, Yuengling, Blue Moon and five other choices. There were about 8-9 bottle choices. Came with family for dinner. I love the staff here, everyone was so nice and friendly. The location is very unique, walking out basement and amazing backyard view( mountain, Farm, all GREEN and blue sky with clouds), it's a piece of art when you looking out from the windows/doors.
