It's a popular family restaurant so the ambiance is noisy but the food is fabulous. Service is great too.

Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent! The cuisine exceeded expectations, though the restaurant's decor could use a prompt update as it appears old and worn. Despite this, the food is surprisingly delightful, and I highly recommend it. read more

Awful experience here for lunch. Burger ordered medium came out raw and they try to tell you that's what medium looks like as if you've never ordered meat before. 16" pizza is 14" tops and they lost no prices for toppings which was almost $5 for pepperoni Charged $3.50 for a refill of iced tea without being told Charged 4% credit card fee without it being listed anywhere Pizza was decent. Burger unseasoned. Wings were tiny but tasty. No wonder if was completely empty. Do not recommend. Feel completely ripped off. read more

Food is delicious!! My family and I went to Lego land and the food at Lego land is atrocious. This restaurant did not disappoint.. delicious!!! read more

What a unique place. We loved the background of this restaurant and that they have pictures of what it was beforehand. It was also nice that the waitress was able to answer the questions we had about the building, she knew the history and that really gave it such a quaint feeling. We started with two French onion soups, it was alright, not great but definitely not bad. Although I probably wouldn't order it again. We also ordered the rigatoni bolognese and tortoloni a la vodka with chicken. The bolognese was a suggestion from the waitress and I'm glad she suggested it! The bolognese was delicious, full of flavor and the rigatoni was cooked perfectly. The tortoloni a la vodka was good as well but the bolognese was definitely the star of the show, order it! read more

We saw a couple reviews of people who went here after LEGOLand and enjoyed it, so we decided to give it a try. We wound up arriving in between lunch and dinner, so it was quiet. All of our food was delicious, and the servers were very nice. My kids enjoyed it so much they begged us the entire next day at the park to return there for dinner again...so we did! We went a little later the next night, so there were more patrons already there, but the food and service still did not disappoint. The Rustic Wheelhouse will now be a given for where we eat whenever we return to the area. Thank you for a great meal...twice! read more

We went for dinner after our Legoland trip, and this place DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!! The service was amazing, the server and staff were very helpful, and the FOOD. 10/10! I recommend the rigatoni bolognese as it was SOO good with the homemade pasta. I really liked the fresh bread and pizza. Try the mussel special too! read more

With 5 little kids we had an awesome experience.Best food , wonderful service and very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Been a customer since opening. Food is always excellent as is the service. I have had the homemade ravioli, pizza and burgers.

This place is so amazing! We traveled to Chester, NY from Long Island for a softball tournament for our 10U team. Not only was the food OUTSTANDING but the staff was amazing. We intended to go with our large group only on Friday but we ended up all going back on Saturday too! They were amazing with our group of 10 year old girls and the best part is that one of the staff members (Debbie) also ended up coming to our games on Sunday to watch the girls!!!! Everything we ordered was fantastic and cooked to perfection. The ambiance was exactly what we were looking for and we also were able to watch the sports games on their TVs in their dining area. I hope we go back to Chester, NY just so that we can come back to the Rustic Wheelhouse. Thank you to Tony, the chef and owner. You are doing everything right!!!!!! read more

Such good food warm and fresh with great drinks cant wait to go back and try a new dish

Our go to place in upstate NY for its great food and service. We really like how accommodating they are with nut allergies. The food is fresh, people are nice and it's just a great spot for a family meal. Definitely try their french onion soup! read more

After a trip to Legoland we were hungry. So our cousins were going to meet us there. When we all went in the first thing I saw out the window was a huge farm. The food there was super good! I had spaghetti and meatballs. It was good. The meatball was really juicy. The spaghetti was wonderful. Really excited for another visit. read more

Good Service Good Food Resonable prices Had veal kids chicken parm wife monagut all ingredients were fresh and tasty. I would go back

Had a really good meal here. Staff were friendly. The main dishes also came with a side salad (which isn't mentioned on the menu) which make it an even better value considering how large the entrees are. We had the chicken parmigiana, and a pasta with shrimp and white wine sauce, both really good. read more

Absolutely amazing, great service, great food, great ambiance. The wine selection was nice along with a good cocktail menu and everything we ordered came out perfect. Definitely would come back. read more

Visited on a quiet weekday evening recently and very pleased with our dishes: a melt in your mouth Parmesan crusted cod perfectly cooked served with delicious julienned vegetables and yellow rice, a hearty bolognese, and a delicious chocolate brownie homemade by one of the restaurateurs served with vanilla ice cream. Friendly and attentive staff, an all around really nice experience! Definitely recommend. read more

Great brick oven pizza! Dined in a few times but usually get takeout.

In town for work, my colleague and I decided to try this place for dinner since it was close to the hotel and we read so many great reviews. The food came out pretty fast, and was good but you could just tell that there was a lot of confusion and it seemed like maybe they were understaffed. We never got an itemized receipt. Also it was uncomfortably warm in the restaurant. Overall the experience wasn't very enjoyable and we didn't feel the customer service lived up to the glowing reviews we read. Maybe we visited on an off night. read more

Only 12 mins from the Legoland Resort, you'd be foolish not to make the drive and treat yourself to the lunch and dinner options available here. You'll find delicious Italian food, equally delicious desserts, an accommodating & friendly staff, and a warm decor & atmosphere. My family will definitely be returning on our next trip to the surrounding area. read more

My mom and I happened to stumble into the Rustic Wheelhouse tonight and are SO happy we did! We were seated right away and our server was very kind, and helpful, she offered great recommendations. What really blew us away was how amazing the food was, from the bread with olive oil to our stuffed mushroom appetizer, and our amazing entrees (penne a la vodka, and the white pizza). I can't wait to come back! Thank you for a wonderful meal and experience. read more

Stopped at Rustic Wheelhouse on our family road trip. We tried the Margarita Pizza and it was by far one of the best pizzas we have had. Nothing better then Wood burning pizza oven!!! They have a great selection of beers on tap and feature unique local beers. Great family owned restaurant. Dessert was great....try the crème brûlée. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

We stopped by on Pizza Friday--a tradition in our household. We were pleasantly surprised. The interior is quaint, with wood paneling. It's obviously a local's restaurant, which, given we just moved to the area, is great. We were seated quickly, and our order was taken quickly. The menu is lovely, well-balanced and not too large. We ordered the grilled watermelon salad, the osso bucco, and a margherita pizza. Everything was, as with the menu, lovely. The osso bucco was fork tender. The pizza had a lovely crust--light, a touch of crispness. I've had much worse pizza in the City. Are there things I'd change? Sure. The service got a bit slow near the end, when they got busy. If memory serves, the wine list just listed the varietal, and not the location or identity of the vineyard. A California chardonnay is quite different than a French chardonnay, and it'd be nice to know what I'm getting. Those are small quibbles. We'll definitely be back. read more

What a great restaurant! Great dinner for my wife and I and the kids - delicious Italian food and some American options as well. Cool old building that looks about 300 years old. Well maintained as well as very attentive service. Would come back again if I'm in this area again. read more

I went to the Rustic Wheelhouse for my birthday. I had no clue it was the old Boodles house until my mom told me. I love how they updated the inside! Our waiter was great, large menu to choose from, and the restaurant was immaculate. The food was delicious but the portions were a little on the small side for the price. The dessert was to die for though!! We all actually enjoyed the dessert more than our meals I think. Hahaha. read more

Rustic Wheelhouse - Tony's delicious pizza. Did I mention the Guinness? Lol - Italian Near Me - Chester, New York

Perfect spot in a historic town that is located next to a walking trail. Ambiance is pub style, clean and inviting. Our server Zach was warm and friendly and the service was excellent. The food was unbelievable. I eat out all the time and this place was one of the best. We had the white bean soup and French Onion soup. Both were excellent. The onion soup was loaded with good quality cheese and filling! I also had the spinach salad with blackened chicken which was so tender and flavorful. My husband had the Italian bread grilled cheese and said it was out of this world. We were visiting for a wedding but will be sure to keep this place in mind when heading upstate again. HIGHLY recommend!! read more

"When the moon hits the stars like a big pizza pie that's Amore" I hope I got that right lol! This has got to be hands-down the best food I have tasted in my life. I live in New York City and I've been to so many five star restaurants and this one beat them all hands down. My son was overly amazed by how delicious the pizza was he ordered two...lol! Mind you he's 7 lol. This is my first five star rating I've given in a long time and it was well worth it. As soon as I head back upstate I will be there! read more

You seriously can't go wrong with any dish here! Rustic Wheelhouse is an amazing restaurant. Found this place on a whim, it's in a charming little town and has a homey vibe. The service is always great and the owners are nice. They truly care about their the food they make. The food is always fresh (and flavorful)! The penne alla vodka is my favorite. The creme brûlée is amazing and you can actually see the vanilla bean in it. read more

This place does not impress from the outside, especially in the dark. It is on what appears to be an old, mostly-vacant Main Street. But it was warm and friendly inside, with rustic charm. Our server was lovely. We really, really enjoyed the pizza we ordered here as an appetizer--simple cheese pizza, done really well. The other dishes were not memorable, and I believe I affirmatively disliked my entree. We would go back, however, just for the pizza! read more

Quality food and really nice staff. The foods always fresh and remember to check out the specials

Really enjoyed all the dishes at this country style restaurant. Nice steamed mussels, octopus, corn chowder and lemon chicken. All well seasoned with fresh ingredients and hearty portions. Friendly staff. The restaurant was bit dark, I think they could brighten up the place. read more

Service was extremely slow and it took us multiple waves to even get the attention of the waitress. Unfriendly from the start. The food is pretty good. Never any complaints on a dish but has to be the cheapest owner I've ever experienced in going out to eat in 30 years.. has never once offered us or our son a complimentary anything. It's actually crazy at this point. We've been here many many times and haven't been in a while because of this reason. Again I tip very very well and spend over 100$ each time and always love when you are shown equal appreciation by the business. I've been to places once that was okay and got a free dessert and go back for that reason, because they show you they value your business We won't be back again unfortunately read more

AMMAZZING!! My new favorite, for sure. I had my wedding dinner here and it was delicious!! It is for sure the best Italian restaurant in the area! Definitely a hidden gem!
