A little disappointed with the business decisions. For a very nice Italian restaurant, that recommends a reservation, to charge you the 4% up charge for using a credit card seems a little greedy for my taste. As well as not even mentioning it when making the reservation so that you can come prepared is inconsiderate. Then when you are asked if you would like a refill on your iced tea or soda, and not mention the fact that the refills are not free like almost every other restaurant does is bush league. This is not a take out pizza place. You are asking your customers to enjoy a nice evening but then you are penny pinching your customers which seems like you should be referred to as a pizza place. Finally, while we have dined there on several occasions and the food is always very good, we were charged $17 for a Calamari appetizer and there was literally 10 pieces on the plate. We had a gift certificate so we decided to go. Funny me, i thought the customer still had the authority to decide the amount of the tip. But the owner came over and said we owed only $2 bucks above the cert BUT how much of a tip do we want to leave , either 18% or 20%. When we asked to see the bill we were denied . His pizza is amazing We are from Brooklyn and we are pizza snobs and his pizza did not disappoint. All of our guests were raving about the pizza. The calamari was excellent as well. What a find! The 1st thing you notice is the charming, yes "rustic", decor with wide plank floors and the delicious smell of real wood. The service was wonderful, caring, and friendly and gave excellent recommendations. French onion soup was good, not great. I like the cheese crispier and the soup onionier but it was solid. We stopped into this restaurant as an impromptu lunch based on the yelp reviews. This is a quaint old town with all local merchants. The interior is surprisingly large and had all the charm of an old time inn.The menu is not huge but covers it all. Greeted by an extremely friendly staff and just felt at home. We were up here for a visit to Legoland and we had a big party. They were able to accommodate even though we didn't have a reservation they seated us downstairs and made space for our group. Tucked away on a charming strip of Main Street, not far off Highway 17, is this atmospheric restaurant with delicious home-style Italian food. The stuffed pork special was invented by the owner/chef and tasted great, like nothing we've ever had before. The hostess/co-owner took time to stop by and tell us about the history of the place and everyone who worked there was great. Beautiful and very quaint town setting along with a very old, rustic but very detailed and well maintained exterior and interior. Ate here for lunch recently. I entered the place and was seated right away. The place was not very crowded and the inside, although dark looked nice. My waitress came over right away and took my drink order. I ordered the Buffalo wings and the Tuscan White Bean soup. I was served warm bread with butter which was nice. My food was served in a reasonable time and the wings were very good. They forgot my blue cheese sauce but that's ok. It did not matter to me and if I asked I would have gotten it anyway. The Bean soup was delicious. I don't know what it would be like for dinner but I will try them soon. Went here between games at Frozen Ropes. We were seated right away. Our waiter was very nice and gave a good recommendation on a salad dressing. I had the fresh veggie wrap which was very tasty. My husband had the burger and my son had the personal white pizza. They also shared an order of wings. Both of my men were very happy with their food. Overall this restaurant far exceeded our expectations just because we eat out a lot in random places because of travel baseball and tend to not be that happy. As an app my friend and I started with fried calamari. The calamari was amazing, crispy and hot. Server said salad was included but it was $1 extra. That's fine but should at least inform us. For my entree I had shrimp scampi, my friend had tortellini with chicken. The tortellini had not flavor but the shrimp scampi was really delicious. I had the cappuccino and they gave cinnamon on the side which was impressive (not a lot of places do that). We ended up wrapping the pastas but at the end of the night when I reheated my pasta I found a bug. That's really disgusting because it meant that the dishes weren't clean that's why it was in my to-go box. Overall it wasn't bad just the bug ruined it, the server was also really nice. read more
