We've visited Pasta del la Nonna a few times now, but our recent family lunch really solidified why this is a local staple for us. The second you walk in, the vibe is cozy and upscale, complete with crisp white linen tablecloths that give it a nice touch of elegance without feeling stuffy. They start the experience off right with drinks and a basket of fresh, warm bread--which is a huge hit with my mother-in-law every time we visit. We started with the Pasta e Fagioli soup, meatball appetizer, and calamari. Everything arrived quickly and was incredibly flavorful. For the mains, we had a full spread including the Chicken Francese, Chicken del la Nonna, Penne alla Norma, and the Salmon. The absolute showstopper, however, was the Special Pasta Dish (Carbonara). The presentation is amazing: the waiter actually heats vodka inside a massive cheese wheel to melt it down, making the pasta incredibly rich and cheesy right at the table. It's a "must-see" if you're a fan of authentic, indulgent Italian food. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal, making sure the whole family was taken care of. We came here for lunch to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. The staff were absolutely amazing, they placed us on the second floor so we can have more room for my baby's stroller. We had the second floor all by ourselves. We were very happy with everything we ordered. I only have the picture of what my hubby and I ate, but the rest of the family didn't complaint of what they ordered. We were offered bread with some type of herb infused butter to start and we ordered the calamari for appetizer which they were delicious. Service was slow our main waiter was nowhere to be found the hostess actually came upstairs to take our order approximately 20 minutes after we arrived she also ended up bringing us our drinks and taking our orders another 10-15minutes later. Food was slow to come out two members of our party ordered the clams casino and they tasted very off almost rancid. Main courses weren't served to us for roughly another half hour to 45minutes despite the restaurant being far from full. Food was too salty and had so much garlic it was not good. The service was very good and the ambience was very nice. They just need to not salt the food and put too much garlic on the food. It really is horrible to eat when you have too much spice and you can't eat it they should let the people put their own salt on. It was a great surprise when they brought over tiramisu with a candle and sang Happy Birthday (we didn't even ask for a bday dessert ... why we were there just came up in conversation) The portions are decent and the way the food is presented is impressive. Absolutely amazing, we stayed at Legoland and came here for dinner with two toddlers. We were greeted by two gentleman who were absolutely amazing. The food was great. We were worried walking in as it's a fancier place but the waiters made us feel welcome and gave amazing service. The kids were treated amazing they brought their food out first and brought out plastic cups for them! Anyone in Goshen or staying at Legoland and wants an amazing meal with great ambiance go here! I have visited Pasta Della Nonna three times, and all 3 times have been an amazing experienced, from the drinks to the food. Ambiance is soothing, you have the choice to sit outside or inside. Sal the waiter is knowledgeable and pleasant. The owners Gilberto and Angel are attentive and always asking if you need anything. I highly recommend this spot! if you want to sit at the bar or bring your family you wont be disappointed. The steak with crab meat is one of my favorite. Took 10 mins to even get menus, another 15 mins for waiter to acknowledge us .. finally got to order drinks at 630 (reservation was for 6) after our drinks got to order our meal finally at 7 o'clock took 45 mins for apps to come out and finally after complaining we got our meals at 830. Waiter did not acknowledge us .. we had to go inside and complain and spoke with a "manager" who just said we are very busy tonight, sorry. A staple at all Italian restaurants and it was not just inedible but the veal itself was either old or turning bad. The only edible was the pasta and that's all the guest ate. Saw this was a new Italian restaurant opened recently and I'm always looking for a great place to eat Italian food and compare since there are great Italian restaurants in the area and it's only 10 minutes away so why not? I had gone to the same restaurant when it was a Mexican restaurant, Spanish (Spain), BBQ, etc. so we're like let's see if this sticks. Unfortunately, after our experience, it failed. I'm sure if it wasn't a Friday night it would have been okay, but the establishment should have been prepared for the onslaught of the Friday night clientele. Everyone was professional, however, the wait at the bar took over 1/2 when it was going to be 5 minutes. Well we're okay it's Friday so let's give it a chance, unfortunately again, it didn't get better. The bread came out 1/2 (looks like they ran out and what they put down was not the same bread they had at the bar not fresh at all not toasted or warmed). Then we waited and waited and waited. Finally we told the waiter we need the check to pay for our drinks it was already been 1 1/2 hour with no food except we did order the calamari and that came in 35 minutes should have been a clue-but again we read such great reviews so let's see. Anyway, when the waiter saw we were getting ready to leave, the food miraculously showed up in the 10 minutes we waited for the waiter to get our bill. By that time it was enough and our hunger just left with like our hopes and dreams of having a delicious Italian meal. The food was not worth the wait, which again was disappointing.
