We visited Barrel 28 on Friday night. We walked in to a warm, welcoming restaurant. We were seated right away and received attentive service throughout our meal. We had the beet and goat cheese salad and a Thai chicken pizza. The salad was fresh and yummy. The pizza was delectable. The restaurant was tastefully decorated and being seated at a high top in the bar area was a really nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back! read more

The parking can be a little tricky, but I was able to find a spot. The place itself is really cute and you can definitely tell it gets busy on a weekend night. I had a soda and some fries so I can only comment on this type of food and they were really good. I hope to be back again to try one of their meals on the menu. The manager and hostess need to learn how to seat people. We arrive to what is nearly an empty restaurant. There are 4 high-tops near the bar that were apparently "reserved" so we weren't allowed to sit there. Instead they sit us, a couple, in the corner of the restaurant next to the only occupied table in the restaurant, which was a family with young children. The one side of the table had a bench seat which was extremely uncomfortable. We eat, which thankfully the food is great there, and leave. And guess what....only 1 of those 4 high-tops was occupied when we left. I'm so glad you sacrificed the comfort of your current customers for ones that didn't even show up. read more

Was attending a wake nearby (we live ~30 mins away) and decided to stop in, 2 couples after the wake. 3 of us had the 28 burger, all of us found it to be perfectly cooked and tasted great. 1 had the lobster roll, which was on the smaller side, but she seemed to like it. We all upgraded our fries to truffle fries (which were good), while the portion was large, it was a $6 up charge- that's a bit much. I'd have rather had half the fries for $3-4 than pay $24 for my burger and fries. We all had 1 drink (alcohol) each and the bill with tip was almost $200, $100 per couple seems a bit high for just burgers and a drink. Our waitress was spot on and very friendly and food came out rather quickly. The inside is really cool, lots of handcrafted wood! I'd stop in again but maybe reconsider the upgraded fries. ;) read more

Food was great, drinks were good, portions large- I recommend the buffalo wings, the calamari, the chicken Milanese, and the pizza is terrific. The service was fast and courteous with a smile. Barrel 28 is amazing! We went hunting for food after the Tri-State NY Spartan and neither of the first 2 places we went to get food after were open. But lucky for us Dawn saw us outside and invited us in! We got DELICIOUS ciders (definitely try the Apple Cider Donut by Hudson North), and then after looking over the menu picked the Mac n Cheese bites (which were the perfect balance of hot n crispy), and 2 Barrel 28 Burgers (which were flavorful, delicious and cooked to perfection!) Maddie was also a wonderful bartender and made one hell of a Raspberry Lemonade! 10/10 will return if we are ever back in the area! read more

This place was a perfect find. It was extremely family friendly and the vibe was very welcoming. Overall, the food was excellent. We had some seasonal drinks and we were pleasantly surprised that one of them came with an order of meatballs. The french onion soup and lobster roll were delicious. I came here with my family this past Sunday since we wanted to try a new restaurant besides the ones around Warwick. The interior decor is really nice. I especially liked how front of house looked, but we sat in the back. I must say, I was throughly happy over how delicious the food was! For starters, we ordered the coconut shrimp, calamari, and hot wings for the table. The coconut shrimp was very crispy and flavorful without being too oily. Coconut flavor was there, yum! Calamari was soft, crispy on the outside, and the marinara was very good. Honestly some of the best starters I've had. For my entree I ordered the cioppino. I've been wanting to try this dish for a while now, and lo and behold this place had it on their specials menu! I really enjoyed this dish. All the fish was so soft and fresh tasting. The squid, octopus, scallops, shrimp, all of it very tasty in a white wine plum tomato sauce. I really enjoyed eating it with the linguine, and the portion size was quite generous! Service was also very good. Waiters came by multiple times to check on us. Whether it was taking our orders, or seeing if we needed plates removed, or waters refilled, or more drinks made, everyone was attentive and quick. Food was a little pricy, but considering how good it was, I think it's worth it. Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely come back. read more

What a great spot! We drove up here, it's not close, but it is SO worth it!!!! The place is well designed and posh. The options for drink already are impressive from a local cider to amazing local IPAs and Mosel Rieslings. The pizza is something to look forward to, perfect crust, and local cheese complement their on-site made sauce. I had the wild mushroom risotto and let me tell you that is an amazing dish!!! With all the mushrooms like shiitake and oyster and Chantelle mushrooms. Coming back for amazing fare, wonderful drink and live music all through the summer! Do not read the other reviews, come try this place for yourself!! They opened right after Covid lockdowns as a brand new restaurant and have recently cleaned up their staff. All negative reviews are from prior management that may have caused for the bad past reviews. Holding compassion for brand new restaurants is a better option than a negative review. Three months since I was last in the adorable and fun town of Florida, Ny. My husband and I hop around at all the bars and breweries in this town and always seem to end up at Barrel 28 thus far. The bar is our favorite spot in the place, the outdoor dining area being second. We met the manager/owner? Very great guy. Gave us some free appetizer, a free round of drinks and hung out like a regular cool guy almost the entire night. We absolutely LOVE it here. I cannot express verbally how we adore this town and this restaurant. Between the convenience of bar hopping and the interesting and welcoming locals, I recommend highly, this area in general. Food is phenomenal every time we go in there, but the real stand out to me is the staff! I was sat by a wonderful woman named Dawn! It was just me and my One year-old and she offered a hand while I set up his highchair, which was a lifesaver!!!! She was so sweet and helpful and even got another staff member to help us outside to the car when we were ready to leave. She's a gem and truly made our experience just that much better!!! I have passed this place on my way to work for over a year. Last night my husband and I went in for dinner. It was fantastic! We had wonderful service from our server Rachel. The menu has something for everyone. Big portions! We started with Calamari and Buffalo wings. Calamari was huge and delicious! Our entrees were Baby back ribs and Pork schnitzel with a marsala wine sauce. Hubby was very happy with his meal. My ribs were delicious! I ate here yesterday with family. The decor inside is very nice. The inside is surprising bigger than it looks from the outside. We were greeted right away by our waiter who took our drink order. The Fried calamari appetiaer was very good as was the thai chili sauce. I ordered the Buffalo bacon bleu burger with fries. It was very good and cooked the way I ordered it which was medium. The fries were good and seasoned nicely. The service was good, the waiter was attentive. My soda did taste a little soapy and sent it back twice and just had water. I don't know if it was a dishwasher problem or the soda dispenser but things happen and it did not ruin the experience for me. Decided to go get dinner at barrel 28. The atmosphere and service were very good. I have to say I was a bit disappointed in my meal. While I know lobster rolls are what they are, I feel that the quantity of food for $18 dollars was a bit bare. It was three pieces of lobster, drenched in olive oil served on a hotdog bun. It was spiced up with 3 to 4 pieces of arugula scattered on the plate. Along with a small cup of fries. I guess I expected more from a place that charged us a fee for operating charge. I don't even know what that was for to be honest. My wife ordered the beets salad and added the blackened/grilled salmon. While I understand that adding the fish would add to the price, I feel that adding a $14 dollar fee for a piece of fish is a bit excessive. I would go back but I would stick to a basic burger or sandwich. read more

Discovered Barrel 28 during the Holiday season. Happened to stop in one night during a Santa crawl. With all that was going on, the staff at the bar was extremely attentive and didn't miss a beat. A month or so later, a friend and I went back for lunch on a Saturday and we were blown away. Not only by the engaging and friendly service but the food. Ever since then we've become regulars and it never ever disappoints. So much so that PJ the weekend manager / mixologist has been known to "surprise me" with making my food choices for me and has hit it out of the ballpark every single time. Yes, they perform magic in the kitchen-- the food is creative, comforting and original all in one. Barrel 28 is one of those places you can't pass by. Very good restaurant with one drawback. Service was excellent, food was delicious, only drawback was either drain flies or fruit flies were occasionally flying near our table. As a former exterminator, this is not a huge problem like mice or roaches and easily corrected, but needs to be addressed. I had my husbands birthday party there on 04/14/2024. I couldn't say enough nice things about the staff and the place itself. Everything was absolutely amazing. I would rate it higher then 5 stars if it allowed. The staff were very accommodating and made sure everything was perfect. We were allowed to come in when they opened to set up completely how we wanted as well. My son is 3 and they made sure he had the utensils he needed to eat and pasta and butter. Absolutely AMAZING food! As we were walking through "Florida's Fun Fest"' we decided to grab a bite to eat and so glad we chose this restaurant! Everything from the drinks to the dessert was beyond delicious! We were seated in the bar area and greeted by our server who took our drink order right away. Due to the fun fest happening right outside, the bar area was PACKED but to be expected of course. I ordered the Margherita pizza and my husband had the Veggie burger with truffle fries ... HUGE portions and we couldn't get over how fresh and delicious everything was! For dessert, I had the lemon sorbet which was served in an actual lemon and absolutely delicious & my husband had the chocolate cake which was ... well he ate it so fast I didn't get to try it so I'm assuming that it was as good as everything else!
