My friend and I chose this restaurant for dinner. I have eaten their catered food before ; first time eating there. Outside decor looks like a person's house but inside he decor was fancy and nice. So there were tables in each room of the house. Bar was all wood; the hallways has tables too with narrow passages . Fortunately we got seated in someone's living room. Menu was good balance in variety. Italian, seafood and continental. We had the philly steak egg rolls as appetizer. I had the scallops carbonara while my friend had some parm dish. Scallops taste fresh; pasta sauce was a cream cheesey sauce. It was good. Would come back next time for their steaks and dessert. * review is strictly about the Easter brunch, I have not eaten during regular dining* We were looking for a place central to our pa and ny family and this looked great both food and price wise. First the good...the place itself (once you get past the terrible entrance) is very nice with a warm bar area and a beautiful large and airy dining room and our server was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the food was awful. Being a brunch buffet you expect the usual items and more than enough of them. Not here. First off there was no eggs just a quiche which along with everything else was served to you in very tiny portions by the buffet servers. Im talking a 1×2 inch square of quiche, 2 pieces of bacon and 2 very tiny sausages. If you asked for a little more you could feel the stress from the server as the gave no more than 1 extra of anything. Ok, so you have to go back numerous times to eat a normal sized meal, annoying but whatever. The bigger issue was everything was incredibly overcooked. The bacon literally broke into crumbs when bit, the sausage had zero moisture in it even the chicken fingers were as dry as jerky, no exaggeration. The quiche was the only edible, and actual pretty good item on the buffet. The cocktails were average but def lacked alcohol and the deserts where not great and definitely mass produced. The final annoyance came with the check. We are mostly 20% and sometimes higher tippers. That said,I found it presumptive and excessive to automatically add a 20% tip to a buffet check. The servers brought drinks and removed dirty plates..period. Buffet tips should never be automatically attached and absolutely not at 20%! After this experience I'm not sure if I'd risk trying a regular meal here but I sure wouldn't ever recommend their brunch. read more

The owner Kathleen, in 3 days notice and a fully booked restaurant, was able to quickly come up with accommodation for our family (due to a death in the family) to provide an after funeral gathering for 30 people. The food and service was excellent. Kathleen made sure everything was perfect for the event and you could see her and staff paid very careful attention to detail. This is a favorite place to celebrate our anniversary. We usually ask for the table at the former (original) door -- a cozy table for two. The first time we dined there for our anniversary they offered us the first round of drinks on the house. We are a same-gender couple and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We just celebrated our 51st anniversary there. All the offerings on the menu are creative, delicious and beautifully presented. My parents took us to this place over the weekend and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly, and even joked around with my mother, who is QUITE a handful. I ordered a Manhattan, which was straight up and yummy. A perfect way to start the weekend. Then I got the Seared Ahi Tuna with veggie soba noodles. It was excellent. Next I shared their salad special with my better half and was also impressed. It had walnuts, apples, dried cranberries, gorgonzola, and raspberry vinaigrette. For dinner I had the Salmon which was smothered in a tomato and sausage bruschetta, and sat stop a yummy pile of sauteed spinach and vegetable. Dessert is something I usually pass on, but you don't come by Blueberry Cheesecake every day, and when I heard it came with vanilla ice cream, that got ordered without a second thought. Of course it was great as was the whole experience. Check the place out if you have an evening free. Went there this past Saturday evening for dinner. I've been there before several times and no real issues. Not so this time. The rolls they served were absolutely tasteless. The purported dipping oil was nothing more than some type of oil and a vinegar; maybe balsamic?? No flavor. Better served over lettuce. I ordered the pan seared scallops in some type of cream sauce. Five medium sized scallops in this sauce over pasta. I don't need 1/2 lb. of pasta, but they gave me a child's portion I do believe. I shouldn't complain about the quantity because it really wasn't that good. Very pricey but isn't everything. But, the carrot cake was delicious as usual. I won't be going back there again. At least not anytime soon. Although, I could get an order of carrot cake to go. read more

A few days ago, my Son & I stopped by for lunch. This restaurant is on the top of a hill and, if you weren't specifically looking for it, you would drive right by. It was originally a house transformed into a restaurant. They serve lunch in the bar area with comfortable tables overlooking the road and the pasture across from the road. The food was very good with large servings, and we found the experience to be quite pleasant. The service overall was good although I had a little trouble getting the server's attention when I wanted a second drink. We ordered a couple of well-made exotic drinks. My Son ordered an omelet which came with lots of great french fries, and I ordered a blue cheese burger, which also came with lots of french fries. The burger was huge (I couldn't quite finish all of it), and I was delighted to find that the meat was top quality, not the cheap stuff that you often get when you order a burger. After eating all that food, we were totally stuffed but, when I saw creme brulee on the dessert menu, I couldn't resist. So, we struggled through a delicious creme brulee and a wonderful, large cappuccino. This was a happy experience, and I would definitely like to return some day. I ordered a filet mignon medium and it was well done. The taste was like a pot roast. If our server came over after I cut into the steak they would have been able to make me another. My husband was done eating his and then she came over to see if I wanted a box. I told her the filet was overcooked and she asked me if I wanted dessert. NO I came for steak. I didn't eat anything except a fork full of vegetables. Then they took 50% off my plate. Not acceptable. I should not have paid for my meal. I would have gladly given them another chance to rectify my meal if she checked on us. Not good business. The service was not the greatest. I had to ask twice for a glass of water. Too bad . All in all, pretty decent food along with great service. Wait staff was extremely friendly and checked up on us often. I had the lobster ravioli and my boyfriend had the pork schnitzel. I wish the lobster ravioli came with more ravioli, I think there were either 5 or 6 total. Our only complaint on the pork schnitzel is that it was served with cold mashed potatoes. So it seemed like the mashed potatoes were pre-made and the chef forgot to heat it up. Overall, good food for this area but I may prefer Oak and Reed if I'm craving American food. read more

4.5 stars for this place. Came here on a date night with my wife and was looking forward to it. A friend who has since passed always raved about this spot but I never made it over with him. Came in here around 5:30 on Friday night and the place was already humming. We sat at the bar for a cocktail as out reservation was at 6:30. Josie was at the bar and I ordered and jack and coke and an old fashioned. I actually apologized for ordering such a drink given the crowded bar but Josie said "don't worry, I got you. ". We got the drinks and they were good. Not Josie's fault, but my glass was still warm at the bottom from being washed and it made my drink (the old fashioned) over diluted. Wasn't happy about it but Josie did a great job and can't be blamed We got to our table and it was very small, I moved the candle and salt and pepper shakers to the window sill. Cathy was our waitress and she was awesome. We got the tomato, mozzarella and pepper salad to start. They bought a nice bread basket while we waited which wasn't long as the service is very good. Salad was great. My wife had the lobster ravioli with shrimp and clams fra diavolo. I tasted her pasta and while I couldn't pick up much lobster. Everything else worked. I had the shrimp and swordfish over mixed veggies and potatoes and it was good. I will admit that over-season my food so this was under seasoned to me. The vegetables actually had almost no flavor, if they did, this would be a five star review. The drinks were pretty pricey as well ($21 for two) but all in all, a very good spot. read more

This place is pretty good! It's a pub-like restaurant with a lot of Italian dishes. I came here for Father's Day and it seemed pretty busy. It's a little pricey for the area but the food is good. It comes with dinner rolls and muffins. The service wasn't bad but also nothing outstanding. I'm giving it 4 stars because the food was good - bread, soup, main dishes - but the service, price, and environment wasn't anything to rave about. Service was standard (though food took quite a while to come), some things were pretty pricey, and the tables were really close together in a small section so it was a little cramped. I got the Pan Seared Scallops Carbonara - very creamy, but very good! I love scallops and they were big so I'd recommend if you like Scallops too. Everyone else got something from the specials that day, one got a salad, another a veal dish, and my dad got a steak. We also got Manhattan clam chowder & French onion soup (would recommend if you like that). My husband took me to Bottoms Up for my 55th birthday last month 1/7/23 and we were really excited to try this restaurant based off the reviews, but we were very disappointed with the following: There was very long wait to get my drink, my husbands mixed cocktail came right away but my simple glass of wine didn't come until after I got my salad and bread and it really ruined his birthday toast. (Which I did with my water). My Spinach Salad which is listed on the menu as follows: Bacon, chopped egg, and diced tomatoes served with a honey dijon mustard came with a ton of mushrooms on it and I HATE mushrooms. Our waitress said "oh yeah it comes with mushrooms" well they should put that on the menu. I got the Pan Seared Scallops Carbonara and it was so greasy, not creamy at all, as Carbonara should be. My husband got the Rib Eye special medium rare and the steak was over cooked and everything else on the plate was fried and greasy. The only good thing I can say while siting in front of a old drafty front door that isn't used anymore is that the appetizers were great. I should have returned my meal. The scallops were gritty and so undercooked that I only ate two of them. this is actually a second draft so to avoid epic review I'll just cut it down to a few things. arrived with three couples the ambience was comfortable and inviting. The food was open to interpretation. One of the couples had steak. It wasn't liking serve then another steak and they liked it unfortunately was after everybody had already been eaten so he was eating his steak meal by himself. My wife had chicken and it was more like pasta sauce and gummy bears chicken was gummy and it was full of sauce with linguine, the waitress was rude with a statement as to getting something for when we challenged her about leaving the chicken Parm on the bill and she was forced to go take that off the bill and she made that statement as she was walking away into the kitchen and didn't know that we had heard her say what she said I challenged her on that statement. The result was she didn't get a tip , I give this restaurant half a star. I appreciate restaurants when the customer service Waff are happier than the people that go in there or their job is to help facilitate and enjoyable evening not more situation. Keep your comments to yourself take it all the way into the kitchen then you can complain about whatever you wanna complain about. You don't do it in front of your customers . read more
