We got the Captain'd burger which is topped with bacon and American cheese. It was good but not $19 good. We also had a pork schnitzel. I must admit we had the wrong expectation. We were expecting the Viennese style but this was more like pork cutlet with gravy on top. We like their potato pancake, it's crunchy and tasty. The meat was ok. Overall, a good dining experiment. So good! We were visiting our daughter at West Point and had a dinner here. The food was great. Menu is huge which I love. Lots of variety. We all tried something different but I personally ordered the shrimp scampi with linguine- lots of shrimp. They don't offer salad or bread with dinners, we had to add on a side salad which was fine, but bread with pasta would be a nice addition! The prime rib was perfectly cooked and was delicious. The parking lot can get tight, especially when it gets busy but around lunch was decent. What would you expect, the reputation of the joint is pretty great so it can be busy during peak times. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is cordial. We were seated almost immediately and greeted by our server within minutes. The menu has a great selection of steak and seafood and chicken! We started with the mozzarella sticks and they were deep fried fantastic. The mozz just oozed out of them. I would strongly recommend the lobster ravioli as an entree. It was prepared to perfection and the savory seafood taste mixed with the ravioli was paired perfectly. The entire meal was great. The Captains Salad was a combination of goodness and flavor and the service to being it to them table was hospitable. Oh how I love the Captains Table. This place has a huge outdoor sand beach for the kids to play. Outdoor seating during summer usually provides for some live music too. We actually sat outside this trip because we wanted to enjoy the nice weather. so outside we went, and we were greeted by a host who sat us at a table. And the good thing is we were able to hand pick our table, so we sat where we were happy. the hostess sat us down and gave us menus. Our server came over right away. We started with waters, and a order of nachos. Waitress was very pleasant, and made sure to check on us. For entrees, I ordered the Tex Mex Chicken sandwich with brocoli, My mom ordered a steak sandwich cooked M with fries, and my dad as well. Food came out in a timely manner. Waitress also made sure to refill our waters. I thought my tex mex chicken sandwich was very good and my dad and mom also enjoyed their food. PRICES UP - QUALITY DOWN! I have been to the Captain's Table many times and have never had a problem. The food is good, not gourmet, but I never had any complaints... until now. The menu has gotten smaller (which I understand) and prices have gone way up. For example - they are charging $13 for a small kids bowl of Kraft mac and cheese - that's absurd, and a $3 upcharge to get curly fries instead of regular fries. This is in addition to everything going up significantly. With a price increase you wouldn't expect quality/portions to go down, but they definitely have. The fries used to be good, but the little handful I got was not fresh and was all little bits and pieces. The desserts were disappointing - they just tasted sweet, no flavor, just sweet, and the ice cream was awful. None of us finished our desserts and that rarely happens. All-in-all, we paid a lot of money and did not get a quality meal. Sadly, we won't be back. read more

We hosted a welcome party the night before our wedding in the private back room at Captain's Table and they were amazing!!! I cannot say enough about how wonderful the serving and events staff were with us. Kathy was quick to respond with an email answer for any questions and set us up for success. The bartenders, servers, and hosts who staffed our event were professional, warm and hospitable. Our guests had an incredible time and loved the drinks and food. The space is great, a large establishment with many options, bar area, awning for al fresco dining even a sanded area outside for kids. However the food is mediocre at best and prices have increased. Looks deceivingly small from the road but there is a large space behind the front facade. I think there were 4 different spaces. The bathrooms were labeled Bouy and Gulls. They were painted blue and pink. Took me a min to realize boys and girls LOL A lot of locals perched at the bar. Seems like they might have themed events. We stopped in for dinner before we headed to Pure Terror Scream Park. Janina was so wonderful and pleasant. She took care of us and answered our questions about the menu. We had the special appetizer, Drunken Clam and Mussels, slightly spicy but delicious. French Onion Soup was good, would have liked more onions but the cheese was ooey gooey good. Most other places have a harder cheese that just gets peeled off like if a slice of cheese was just slapped on top. I like the ooey gooey cheese. Maple Pecan Encrusted Salmon was ok. The salmon was good but the maple pecan were piled in the center of the salmon not really encrusted so I ended up scrapping it off to enjoy the salmon. Hubby had the special ribs. This was our first time trying this restaurant. I ordered the burger which was great, and my husband ordered the prime rib. The prime rib was tough and stringy. We eat out often and have experience in the restaurant industry. We understand, sometimes the cut is just not good and it is unavoidable. When the server came back to check on our food, my husband said to the server "you can take it, I'm done. The server asked if he wanted a box and he said "no, it's okay I'm good". We did not ask for anything else nor did he ask for it to be taken off the check. Then the manager came over. We did not ask to speak to her. We were thinking she just wanted to understand why he didn't like it. She said to my husband "you didn't like it?" My husband said "it might have been me, I just didn't like it". She said in an unnecessary tone "well we don't comp for personal taste". Then she stated "our prime rib is good ". My husband told her it wasn't good, after feeling attacked by her approach. We were shocked at her dismissive attitude towards us. Since we never asked for it to be comped and didn't appreciate being confronted by the manager. It was unprofessional and argumentative, for no reason. We never asked for anything to be taken off the check! With so many options, this will not be on our list in the future. read more

Waited for our ribeye 45 minutes and immediately found out I had the wrong teeth because I was chewing and chewing on the steak and nothing happened. It was like old bubblegum. My friends had the same problem with their meals. Drinks were very difficult to get. I also noticed a couple arguing with the manager because they wanted a refund. We saw this place recommended on all the apps and stopped by for lunch while on a road trip. It's a large space, cute decor, good music. We sat near the bar. For a place called Captain's Table, we expected more seafood but there was a wide selection of dishes. I opted for the ahi tuna over seaweed salad. It was well prepared and tasty. We really enjoyed our meal here! The outside area in the back of the restaurant was perfect for this beautiful night and had a nice sand area for the little one. We put our little ones food order in right away and got grilled cheddar on wheat bread. They were accommodating with all the changes we asked for! The kids grilled cheese is usually white bread with American cheese. My little foodie has a higher standard for grilled cheese! Lol I got the Tex mex sandwich on a wrap and hubby got a chicken parm hero with grilled chicken. He wanted rice instead of fries and it was so fluffy and flavorful! I come to Captain's Table quite often and usually dine at the bar. The restaurant has been around for a long time and we tend to see the same patrons whenever we dine here. There are TVs at the bar, so it's a good place to go to for sports games. The bartenders here have all been bartending here for a very long time are all very attentive and friendly. The food here is very good. Some of my favorite items to order here are: Prime rib, rib eye, chicken Angelina, grilled salmon, beef stew special and the meatloaf special. Their scallop and shrimp spinach dip appetizer is also amazing. They used to have tuna tacos on their menu, which was my absolute favorite, but they got rid of it a few months ago - still so bummed about this! They have daily specials here and the food is always fresh and delicious. I love Captain's Table so much that I had my bridal shower here last year. The owner Kathy helped organize the bridal shower and made sure that it went off without a hitch. I opted to have the bridal shower in the back by the outdoor area. We had the tuna tacos, lobster ravioli, prime rib, and salmon as entree options. We had pitchers of mimosas that the servers made sure was always flowing. It turned out to be so beautiful. Very good food in a pretty big place. It's been around for decades. Two indoor and one outdoor bars, tables inside and outside. Sand court. Bands regularly play here. Service is very friendly even when they're busy. My one issue was a server who didn't write down any of our orders (four -top) and I received a tequila/tap water/lemon instead of tequila/soda water/lime. But that's not a big deal. read more

This has been our go-to for years and for good reason. We love the atmosphere and the ability to sit by the bar, in the dining room, or outside (weather pending.) The sandbox in the back is great when you have little ones. Such a good menu with options for everyone. The food has always been delicious. This is not where you go for a fancy dinner, this is where you go for just a good, casual, delicious meal. Priced well, good portions (we always have leftovers next day) and the best wings around. The staff is always wonderful too, we've never had a bad experience with anyone. They are friendly, patient, and accommodating always. I went to this place for dinner Last Thursday (July 4th). Had alot of sections; inside outside bar, dining room and beach volleyball court, music stage. There was live misic. I ate the Seafood risotto. It was great; i can taste the broth sauce from the clams to the creamy sauce of the rice. It had clams scallops shrimp and squid rings, im guessing. Just a reminder to those who dont eat shell fish. There was a closed clam that i opened and it spewed out this broth with black sand in it. Super excited to stumble upon this oasis on our drive home from Vermont, we called ahead for a reservation and it was amazing service from the time we got there: we were seated immediately and all the staff had masks and were constantly maintaining the cleanliness of the outdoor area. The bathrooms were immaculate as well. Our server was attentive and friendly in addition to being knowledgeable about all of our questions about the amazing large menu. I've noticed a lot of restaurants condensing their menus during the Covid outbreak but not this place.
