Today was the third time in 3 months that I tried ordering two types of burgers that are still on the online menu, but we're actually discontinued months ago. They still have not updated their menu. If you call in an order to pick up, have several back up orders from the online menu and be prepared to spend time hearing what is actually on the menu as opposed to what's been discontinued. read more

I have been to this restaurant about three times went there tonight sat outside. There was a man playing guitar and singing. He was excellent. Our waitress was wonderful very accommodating. Very experienced. Ordered the prime rib with mashed potatoes. It was perfect medium rare my husband's was medium you could cut it with a fork And then we ordered the muscles for an appetizer the meat and the muscles was a little small because they weren't the big ones but everything was perfect. The food is pretty good, but it took a long for it to come out. Some of the food came out cold. The waitress wasted food one of the people in our group, and she wasn't even apologetic. The steak came out with extra fat on it. The kitchen staff could have cut the fat off. In this being my second time here, the overall experience was okay, but could have been better. read more

I definitely love this place! This place is my smoking hot girlfriends stomping grounds and I'm invading her territory because this place is freaking awesome! From the outside it didn't seem that "nice" but heck you've heard the old adage "don't judge a book by it's cover" well this place was really nice on the inside. It was clean, large, plenty of seating and since I was visiting at night to hang out with my hottie in arms we arrived late so the place was in all out "hang out" mode with a live band and all. They have multiple bars inside, amazing staff and the food I ordered was actually really good. I didn't think the food was going to be as good as it was but I was really happy with it, bear in mind I wasn't drunk (yet) when I ate too so my assessment of the food was while I was completely sober. LOL! I have yet to try the outdoor area because it's still cold outside but I certainly loved the setup of this place with the multiple bar placements and the small open area to dance and just have fun while the live band plays some tunes. I loved that the live band played a little bit of everything to satisfy, almost, everyone because when they started jamming to some Metallica I was all in! Hell Yea! Very nice bar scene with an active live music schedule. This afternoon Free Shrimp played 3 sets of energetic tunes in the back, open air section with a sand pit to keep the youngins occupied. Very busy, waited 10 minutes for a table but it was worth it. The cheeseburger and fries were well received and my scallops and broccoli were very good but the grits, no so much as I'm used to grits down south. I really liked this place! The Captain's Table is a true local's hangout for folks both young and old. There are essentially five different bar areas within the space. Plenty of room to move around if your area gets too crowded (which it inevitably will). Ample drink specials and lots of options on both the bar menu and the main menu. Wings were a huge hit with my party and I thoroughly enjoyed my personal pizza (large enough for two people). There was a band playing in the next room but we were still able to carry on conversations with each other. Acoustics are very good...Jon Taffer from Bar Rescue would be pleased! We have dined here a few times and been to a catered birthday. The result led to us having my baby shower here too. The food has always been delicious, from sandwiches to burgers, and entrees. Desserts are great too! They have a good selection and the chips are a nice alternative to fries. Service has always been great and the people in charge of catering events and scheduling was always helpful and flexible when we had questions or wanted to change an item. My best frandddds Jayyysunnnn introduced me to this gem like two years ago after he picked me up in goshen following a bachelorette party in which I lost my voice for four days following. Obviously beer was a needed cure. They have the coolest outdoor bar in the warmer weather that gets transformed back into an indoor bar in winter (along w the total indoor bar year round.) Been going here with family and friends for 20 years. I guess I really liked the atmosphere because my husband never cared for the food and He goes just to please me. Decided to go for our 19th wedding anniversary. The waitress clearly had an attitude but I ignored it because it was our anniversary. We ordered an appetizer, 2 alcoholic beverages and two dinners. My husband lIkes italian bread and as we worked our way through the meal, he asked for 1 or 2 baskets of bread (they were small). The nasty waitress comes over after our meal and proceeds to tell us she has to charge us for the baskets of bread. We ask to speak to a manager who was just as nasty. I could honestly care less about a measly $2.50 but at least let us know beforehand that there's some hidden charge for more than one bread basket. The food was mediocre at best. Definitely wasn't fresh. It was more of the principal and sheer audacity and rudeness of the staff and management what upset me. Thanks for ruining our wedding anniversary! I've been frequenting the Captain's Table for 4 years now. The menu selections are great and most everything I tried has been very much to my liking. I love that it has multiple atmospheres. You can sit at an outdoor bar and eat or drink in beautiful weather; at the inside bar in a nice lounge setting with many TVs; in their cozy dining room or on the outside back patio, which is especially good if you have little children who need to run around. Was going to a haunted house in Monroe and decided that Captains Table sounded like the best place in the area to eat. I definitely liked it here! The atmosphere and service were nice, the outdoor area out back looked really cute. We got the loaded potato skins to start and they were very greasy but tasted great. The complimentary bread basket (cold) had seeded bread and cornbread- the cornbread was very dense and wet, I liked it. I drank my usual Tom Collins but others at my table had the Captain's punch and the sangria. They liked both, saying the punch was very sweet but good, but they preferred the sangria which is actually not made with wine but Angry Orchard hard cider (they do have regular white and red sangrias available.) I got the chicken fingers and fries (sub tots) appetizer as my entree and everyone else had burgers. Everything was good, chicken fingers had tasty breading and came with homemade honey mustard. For dessert we got the vanilla cheesecake (gluten free) and the caramel cookie skillet. I didn't try it but heard the cheesecake was pretty good, the skillet was very small- if you're expecting your typical large skillet cookie this isn't it, this was served in a little dish. It had white chocolate, caramel, toffee, pretzels, and sea salt in the cookie, it was very salty which I enjoyed. I'd come back if I'm in the area! read more
