Found in the heart of Capitol Hill, the old timey decor and cafeteria style tables and seats really makes you feel like you're eating in a restaurant plucked straight out of old history. The open air space also made the experience a lot more enjoyable and cozy as it made the meal feel a lot more casual and comfortable at least to me. As for the food, I got the salmon benedict and we got a waffle for the table to share. The benedict itself was amazing. I love a seafood eggs benedict as the sauce paired with the fish so well and the egg was poached to the perfect texture. The only disappointment was the salad as it lacked a taste and just felt like biting into crunchy water leaves. The waffle was amazing as it was cooked so well to be fluffy and light. read more

While in Seattle, this was one of my bucket list places to visit, and I'm so glad we made it! It was fun seeing how lively everything was inside, though my friend and I ended up sitting outside on the front patio. We absolutely loved the little heart design on hers, so cute!! As for the drink itself, I did enjoy the banana flavor, but it wasn't as sweet as I would've liked. We also grabbed one of their bakery items, which was really good and something I'd definitely order again! So sad we finished it so fast haha For food, we asked our server for recommendations since everything looked amazing, and she mentioned two popular options: the Sausage Breakfast Sandwich and the Biscuits & Eggs. It was also nice that they were able to put the cheese on the side for both orders since my friend couldn't eat dairy. We ended up loving the Sausage Breakfast Sandwich! Our friends recommended Oddfellows for brunch. We went there on a drizzly Saturday morning. The host was welcoming and friendly. He took my information and texted me to ensure the message went through. While we waited, we went next door to Elliot Bay bookstore. After ~20 minutes our table was ready. The restaurant was busy with diners enjoying their food and having good conversations. We ordered coffee, the regular brioche french toast and the chorizo and Yukon potato hash. I ordered the regular brioche french toast. I love the brioche bread's thickness and fluffiness, but I think next time I would order a side of bacon to complete the meal. My partner ordered the chorizo and Yukon potato hash came with kale, salsa and a poached egg. You can taste the spices and heat from the salsa and chorizo. The potato hash and kale balanced the flavors from the spices. This dish was very filling. Excellent food and excellent service! I came to Seattle for Fourth of July weekend, and this was the only restaurant I came back to twice for Brunch. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and every visit was a great experience. I'm honestly not sure why there are so many negative reviews because I only have great things to say. I only managed to capture a photo of the beignets with jam, but they were served warm and were absolutely delicious. Along with the rest of the food I got. I had the stuffed brioche French toast ($22) with a side of eggs. My French toast was a little cold, but I attributed that to it being stuffed with the whipped mascarpone. My biggest issue with the dish was that it was lacking sides. Almost every other place I have been to would serve French toast (stuffed or regular) with eggs, meat, and some form of starch. I shouldn't have to add a side (and pay more money) to make the dish whole. For the table, all our dishes were small portions and expensive. I've been coming here occasionally for years and like this place for the central location at the center of action in Cap Hill, beautiful interior with huge/open windows, and variety of menu items including healthy and dietary accomodations. In their recent menu re-vamp (maybe in time for the World Cup?) I particularly enjoyed the farro grain bowl which came with a generous serving of avocado, steamed and garlicky spinach, roasted veg and a delicious green sauce. The interior is casual and inviting with a farm-style vibe that makes it an easy place to hang out and catch up. There's plenty of seating; when we arrived around 11am it was pretty slow -- but by noon the place filled up fast, so clearly it's a popular spot. We all shared the Burrata appetizer, which ended up being my favorite thing I tried here. Perfectly grilled bread balanced with fresh Burrata, apples slices, golden raisins, celery, parsley, and something delicious sprinkled on top of it all. A very satisfying appetizer! I ordered the Croque Madam based on a recommendation, and it definitely delivered. Very rich and filling, with lots of cheese -- definitely on the heavier side, but really good.
