Ok, I have mixed feelings about this. I went to the location in SD so I had high expectations coming into the new brea location. First of all, when we were seated Inside it was a bit warm - the air felt still. So we asked to be seated outside where there's an open air patio. Much better. Service was eh. I felt like she kept trying to upsell us. It was awkward-- we knew what we wanted since we've eaten at another location. We were disappointed when it didn't taste the same. It was lacking flavor. The only thing that popped was the eggplant - that was till amazing!! We will go try it again next time and hoping for better service and the flavors that made us fall in love with this spot to begin with. Better luck next time ... I hope.

Third time trying North Italia and this place in Brea in my long awaited trip to try it out. The hostess took down my name and phone number and supposedly alert me within 30 min to check-in. I waited for more than an hour while shopping nearby and didn't get a text. So I decided to walk over and see. Surprisingly, it says I was notified after 39 mins of queue but I never got notified. Anyways, the hostess was so nice to get me a big table, so I was seated within 5 mins. The food was always tasty and delicious, no difference this time. We ordered a truffle garlic toasted bread and we shared a spicy rigatoni. They separated for us into to bowls, it was so nice if them! Everything was perfect, excellent service with the Italian accent inside and outside ~~ love the vibes! Will definitely keep coming back to taste more Italian food!!!

A brand-new place has opened at the Brea Mall, called North Italia. It is actually outside, and the best way to get there is to find the Lululemon store; it is right across from it. Plenty of people were dining here for lunch so we had to put our name down and wait about 15 minutes. The food came out fresh, our server was nice and we loved the pasta. The inside of this place feels open and large with so much seating all around. Our appetizer was the burrata with heirloom tomatoes, which tasted so delicious. Salad-wise we had the chicken and beet salad and the beets were fun and the salad overall was refreshing. Squid ink was shared between us as our main dish and it was good. I think between the two people this was a great amount for us. Can't wait to come back and try more things.

North Italia has recently opened at Brea Mall. I've came to this place for a first time. It was pretty busy with a 25-30 wait, I opted for the bar seating. I'm always a bar kinda guy. For drink... I must have that limoncello. The best tasty drink you can get. Presentation is super stunning. Feeling real fancy. And tasty. The next item of choice....... Italian meatballs.... cuz it's a very tasty small plate item.... made fresh.... texture were spot on..... it's totally legit. Ok... time for the big one... I ended up doing 2 visits, cuz I wanted to try more items on menu, especially the lasanga which it's super popular at North Italia. Those things sell out very quick. During my visit, I opted for this one fresh pasta dish... bolognese. Presentation is nice... made fresh, like they said. Taste real good. Highly recommended. My second visit... I got very lucky that day... Was able to get the lasagna. Perfect!!!! Even the food runner told me I was very lucky to get this. It's made fresh... well duh!! Very stunning.... tasty... you named it.... everything about the lasagna is good... but since they sell real quick... alot of customers order this.... if you happen to get the lasagna, you're very lucky... if not, then better luck next time. Dessert.... I got the real stuff right there.... affogato.... which is vanilla gelato and coffee with real coffee beans... nice!!!! It was heavenly good!!! So real... i mean really!!! Service.... bartenders are sooo amazing!!! Great people to serve the customers. Overall.... 5 stars!!!!

Visited on a Wednesday at 545 and the place was packed! Very lively. We waited 30 minutes for a table and our server was very attentive the whole visit. Service was 10/10 Restaurant vibe 10/10 Food... not impressed. Very mediocre and overpriced. The chicken parm was dry with little flavor. I had to ask for a side or marinara to help get it down. 4/10 The artichoke was flavorful but had little to no edible parts. 5/10 The kids chicken Alfredo was probably the tastiest. 7/19 The steak with arugula was good not Great 6/10 I'm super bummed because this is close to home. But the food was not great.

Came in for lunch with my mom and daughters and waited about 10 mins for a table outside. We had a nice waiter, Dream, who helped us with our meal, however, meal service was very slow. We waited about 10 mins after being seated for our drink order and then another 10 before ordering our food. We then waited about 30 mins for a grilled steak panzanella salad, a caprese sandwich and kids Alfredo noodles to come out. Must be ironing a few kinks. Food was good and service can only go up from here.

I like North Italia. This location at the Brea mall opened a few weeks ago. It has a spacious interior and a large covered patio area. TVs over the indoor/outdoor bar to watch a game. It's a great place for groups. My fam loves their pastas but we tried out their brunch stuff on this visit. I got the chicken parm sandwich. I liked the chicken and prosciutto but the marinara sauce had a light sweetness to it that I didn't really care for. My fam liked the dishes though. And the grilled cheese was a hit with the kids. Service was good. Friendly staff. However they're still pretty new and have some kinks to work out. We tried to make a reservation ahead of time but they said we could only do that with a manager who never got back to us. We showed up early in person to try to get a table and they took a while to seat us even though we were one of the first groups. And it was not like they were at full capacity even when we left. Hopefully they can smooth things out.

We visited North Italia today with a large party, and if you're unable to get a reservation, be prepared for a very long wait. We waited a little over two hours, which we were okay with, but it's definitely something to keep in mind. They seemed pretty understaffed during our visit. It took quite a while for our server to reach our table with water, and at one point our table started coughing from some powder on one of the dishes. It was hard to get the waitress's attention, which made the moment a bit uncomfortable. The food itself was delicious, but they were out of a few items on the menu. Since they're newly opened, I understand they're still working through some operational challenges. Overall, despite the wait and the staffing issues, I would still recommend North Italia. The food is genuinely tasty, and once they smooth out the service side, it has the potential to be a great spot.

I ate a very late dinner here with a friend and it was packed! For good reason, though, since the food was delicious and the place itself was nice and chic. We got the Italian Meatballs, which was perfectly seasoned and flavorful! The Ricotta Cavatelli had a generous serving of both crab and shrimp, and the pasta was cooked to just the right firmness. I had a wonderful dinner experience here and am so excited that the food scene at brea mall is growing!

We loved the other location, and happen to live in this new locations area, so of course we had to check it out! Briana was our server, she was super sweet and had good recommendations for us to try. We ordered White truffle bread 7/10 Really good, wish it were a little more crunchy though, it was so good dipping into the pasta sauces Spicy Rigatoni Vodka 9/10 Braised short rib 7/10 a little bit too sweet for me but overall good if you like a lemon taste The Pig (Pizza) 9/10 A really great decorated restaurant, we came at night time so the dim lights were a huge vibe. Day time I could imagine it being even better, I'll have to come back and check that out with some drinks!

I can't believe it took me this long to go to a north Italia, not only is the service so friendly, the food is actually so so good. I tried the chefs board, the Funghi pizza bomba style, the Bolognese, and ended the meal with the salted caramel budino. My favorite bites were the funky pizza, it has so much flavor. The chefs board is the perfect concoction of salty and sweet flavors and crunchy and soft textures, and it's great to pair with the crust of your pizza. I will absolutely be back to try the rest of the menu!

My girlfriend's meetup group made reservations for the soft opening of North Italia's new location at the brea mall. We had 6:45 reservations for 6 and were seated promptly. Service was excellent, servers were generally available but not hovering or intrusive. For the soft opening the restaurant had set up something where diners were offered an appetizer to split, an individual entree, a dessert to split, and a drink of our choice including adult beverages like beer, wine, and cocktails. Everything was complimentary. We took full advantage and enjoyed/shared multiple different appetizers and desserts with the table. 2 ladies ordered wine, 2 tried the pomegranate mule, and 2 of us settled for non alcoholic coke. Everything was tasty and we all left stuffed and with leftovers. The food was presented well and looked as good as it tasted. At the end of the meal we were presented with a check that showed what we would have been expected to pay at regular price. This was fantastic because it allowed us to be able to figure the tip for the great staff who who definitely deserved to be tipped for their time and consideration. All in dinner for 6 with 3 full courses and 4 drinks came to a little over $400 so around $70 per person. A very reasonable price for high quality food. Parking is available in the structure in front of Nordstrom it's a little bit of a hike to North Italia but not terrible. We'll return.

very happy this place opened. bcos it was still new, they didn't fully seat to full capacity. inside was fairly decent size. you had the option to sit outside as well. our server provided great service. it didn't hurt we sat next to the paying counter either. we wanted carbs so we all ordered pastas, and beef carpaccio. 1) we had squid ink tonnarelli. quite pricey but I couldn't hate it too much bcos it was yummy. the shrimp tasted great. good texture. 2) trottole chicken pesto. there were garlic and basil inside. what else did you need. 3) Bolognese. delish but this might be a bit overpriced since there's no true protein in it. 4) Strozzapreti. I ordered it mainly for the 'truffle' but I didn't taste that at all. however the dish was still flavorful. every pasta dish was delicious. we ordered couple desserts: tiramisu (very good but you could prob get that fm elsewhere for half the price). Bomblini. a type of Italian donut. it was ok. a bit too sweet.

The FOOD: 4.5/5 | Drinks: 5/5 Off the appetizers, we had the pork belly bites and dirty fries! First dish came with a long hot pepper, several mini tortillas, and 2 dipping sauces. The pork was crunchy on the outside and soft+succulent on the inside. I can see myself doubling up on this appetizer the next time I come. Dirty fries were great; it came with a generous amount of pickled onions - providing a really nice contrast to the savoriness of our meal. Our waiter graciously accommodated our request to have the egg on the side. Off the entrée/taco menu, my friend ordered the Korean tacos and I got the Ensenada (fish) tacos. But you can also order the Ensenada tacos with shrimp. These were delicious, I would have loved a little more lime crema to go with the fish - but not a big deal. I got a Watermelon Margarita. I wasn't expecting it to be HUGE, but it was the perfect amount considering how much food we as a pair ordered. My friend ordered the La Toxica table side cocktail and one additional mango cocktail. We love their chips and salsa. The complementary chips were very fresh, and both the red and green salsas have a medium heat level. We also always enjoy their grade size margaritas. They are not boozy, but definitely pack a punch. I usually have the mango-habanero margarita ordered extra-spicy, but I felt like trying something new, so I tried the Tamarindo Margarita (El Jimador 100% Blue Agave, Ancho Reyes Chili Liqueur, Squirt, tamarindo, fresh lime, grande size $27). It was good, but was a little on the sweet side, and I barely got any heat. I'll go back to my mango-habanero next time. She had their limited time pineapple-poblano margarita (grande size $27). This was an off-menu special offering. It was excellent, with a great mix of fresh pineapple and a light heat and pepper flavor from the poblano. It was perfectly balanced and the sweetness was very light. I was jealous and wish I had ordered this also. We happened to visit on Thursday night which is fajita night. The deal starts at only $20 for veggie fajitas, with various proteins available for an additional cost. I had the steak fajitas ($27), and she had the achiote grilled chicken breast fajitas ($22). The meal starts with a big Mexican Caesar salad. It was very good, with the perfect amount of dressing, it was very filling. The picture doesn't do it justice, it is a large salad. The proteins arrive sizzling hot in a cast iron skillet. Our dishes had a generous amount of steak and chicken on top of a bed of peppers and onions. I got flour tortillas and she got corn. It's nice that they give you four warm tortillas wrapped in a cloth napkin. Most places usually only give you three. The standard meal comes with beans and rice but we both opted for all rice. The rice was barely warm, but we were already pretty stuffed so we barely touched it. Our server Nicole was great. She was very friendly and provided great service. My girlfriend only had a few bites of her salad and wanted to take the rest home. When they delivered our two fajita orders, spread across eight plates, they inadvertently took her salad away. Nicole made it right and brought her a full salad in a to-go box and bag. Excellent service! They often run a summer promotion where purchasing $100 in gift cards includes two additional $20 bonus gift cards. Hopefully this deal will come again soon. We will continue to dine at Cha Cha's frequently.

It has this dark but classy aesthetic and I was not prepared for that (in a good way). This restaurant has been here for about 2 years with different ownership and menu so I was excited to see what they had to offer. Hugo helped us with our order and he was very friendly and professional. We went ahead and ordered the ahi tuna taco, pork belly bao, garlic fries, the margharita pizza, the yuzu lobster pasta, and for drinks I got the virgin burning thyme. My friend got that and other drinks as well. Ahi tuna taco - 5/5 probably the best food item for the evening. The tuna was fresh, perfect amount of kick in its sauce, and the outter shell was perfectly crunchy. I think them replacing the shell with wonton was exceptional with the texture. Every bite was extremely satisfying. Pork Belly bao - 4/5 everything was delicious. The bow itself is bouncy and moist. There wasn't anything special about the sauce inside with the pork belly, but I would definitely give it a try at least once. A great portion with your friends or family as an appetizer. Garlic fries - 3/5 It was a bit underwhelming, but nothing horrible. I could not taste the garlic at all, but the fries itself was cooked to perfection with the outer being pretty crispy and inside being soft. Margharita pizza - 4/5 I really like the crust and the breading of this pizza. It was crispy and the pepperoni was cooked to perfection. I really like the small pepperoni because it gives an immense amount of flavor in each bite. The cheese and the tomato sauce was fine, but nothing special. Yuzu lobster pasta - 4/5 I wish I was able to taste more of the Yuzu since that's in the name of the dish, but I could not. If it was just called the lobster pasta I would say it's amazing. The tomatoes were perfect to lighten the entire dish with the heavy sauce and the pasta. The lobster was cooked fine. Other than that it was fine, but I would say either enhance the Yuzu flavor or remove it in the name of the dish. Burning thyme - 4.5/5 I really like the acid and the balance of sweetness and sour in this drink. Usually, I get skeptical when I make an alcoholic drink version because the bartender tends to over sweeten the drink, but this was not the case, and I enjoyed it a lot with our food.
