This is a newer, very nice Nordstrom in the Americana Mall. It's not huge and the men's department is better than Santa Monica Place, but not as nice as Canoga, the Grove or Costa Mesa. The store size is slightly larger than the Grove and the men's department service was excellent, even if they didn't carry what I wanted. The eBar makes a great coffee drink and is worth the stop. 5 star on service 2 star on variety of merchandise in Men's suits, slacks and dress shirts. read more

This is for the MAC counter in this Nordstrom. I came in with the interest of finding a good concealer and finishing powder. As a first time MAC user, I was expecting for the sales rep to be more informative and friendly, but it didn't seem like she cared for my business. She picked a concealer and applied it to my left under undereye, while I already had concealer on. It looked blotchy and horrible...I don't think anyone in their right mind would be convinced to purchase something that looked so bad. Obviously I did not purchase it. MONA MONA MONA in the fragrance department, completely stunned me, to the point where I wish I had approached her instead of any one else. She was the most healthiest one out of all the workers but yet the most brightest, most active, most generous, honest, kindest, active and probably the only one who can't the black-and-white. Well all the other women standing around her made the experience of shopping for simple cologne feel awkward. Well everyone stating that they don't validate she took a time out to call me aside and direct me to the exact validation location. Brand new location at the Americana. This review is for the service. Not surprisingly, as Nordstrom is notorious for great service, but I am giving 5 stars to the staff in the women's section upstairs because they went above and beyond for me at my last visit. I asked a question about adding someone to my credit card and they called billing for me and walked me through the steps there and then to make the change. Then they offered great advice for parking at Americana: parking is always validated for 3 hr free parking for Nordstrom shoppers, there is a kiosk at any of the customer service centers in the store. Also if you spend $200 combined at any Americana stores, parking is free all day, just show your receipts. Anyway, I had a great visit and where many other older stores may not be as motivated to keep every customer happy, this store is on top of its game. read more

Nordstrom really dropped the ball with moving this store to the Americana. Something is just so off about this location. The entrance is awkward and the whole store is like narrow and tall! It seems so uninviting! When advertising the opening they made it seem as though it was going to be one of the most amazing Nordstrom locations we have ever seen. The selection SUCKS! What is the point of all this fancy looking decor and remodeling when the merchandise is sub-par in comparison to Topanga and even Santa Anita. I come to Nordstrom for the higher end brands and the nice quality clothing but they did away with a lot of the stuff they used to offer. Not to mention, the extreme inconvenience of this location. Sometimes I just want to drop in real quick and leave but then I have to deal with the parking and crowd of the Americana. I used to come to Nordstrom 1 to 2 times a week. Service absolutely TOPS from Mel B. in the lingerie department! If you want to be helped and not shamed, go here. I have a red carpet event coming up and needed a supportive shaping bra for older breasts as well as possible shape wear for body flab which I've never chosen to wear before. However, the gown I'm wearing is form-fitting and my form needs help! Mel was not fake-gushy but supportive and precise in what she thought would help me achieve the best look. She knows her products. End result - couldn't be happier. Bra was side-pushup-supportive and could cross in back to create nice cleavage. Shape wear after second pull-on is easy to wear, smooths out lumps and lines but will not make me look model-thin - don't expect that. If you need advice for anything in lingerie, I highly recommend Mel. Nordstrom is known for their customer service and they have always come through with their trained staff. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE Nordstrom. But I HATE the Americana. Nordstrom in general gets 5 stars. The Americana gets 0 stars. What a mistake Nordstrom made by moving to the Americana. I detest outdoor shopping malls. Yes, I was born and raised in "Sunny California." But, believe me, it does rain here - especially when you're trying to do Christmas shopping. (Isn't that when stores really cash in?) I want a covered parking structure with direct covered access to all mall shops. I don't want to get my shoes and purchases wet in the rain while also trying to prop my umbrella. What a stupid idea. Whoever this Caruso guy is with his outdoor malls, he's an idiot. Would you pay money to go to Disneyland when it's pouring rain? I don't think so. This is a 40 year step back. Even though we valet parked, we still had to walk a block outdoors to get to Nordstrom. Something wrong there... As for the Apple Store: I will make my purchases at the Galleria location. I will boycott the Americana location. My impression of the new Nordstrom at Americana: SMALL! Far less selection. Even the bathrooms are downsized. One regular stall, one disabled stall. Lots of baby changing paraphernalia. Still have the sinks covered with water splashes. Nordstrom: you'd be better off opening a standalone location with your own (free) parking below the store. Gee how about the Glendale Sears location? read more

Disappointed with the new store. Lacks inventory - shoe selection is slim pickings. Cosmetic section looks like Sephora (which is great if you are at Sephora). Clothing selection is so limited and organized in a strange way. In addition, they are very short staffed, took 15 minutes to get someone to bring out a pair of shoes which is the total opposite of most Nordstroms. It seems as though they are going in a different direction - I hope it isn't the direction all of their stores are heading - or I'll be headed elsewhere. I consistently receive HORRENDOUS service at this location that I was so inclined to write a yelp review about my most recent experience... and it's gotten to a point that I'm considering cancelling my Nordstrom card all together just so that this terrible company will never receive my money again. I came in to try on a pair of shoes, because the pair I ordered online were too big. I had been conversing with a salesmen for 15 minutes, one whom which I could tell was originally from Armenia due to his thick accent. Because of that, I tried not to let his abrasive and rude tone get to me, trying to be understanding of the language barrier. He also kept disappearing every now and then. When I finally made my decision on a size, I asked "Can I order these in a size 7.5?", he picks up the box and proceeds to walk away from me and says "If it's available". LOL so at this point I'm just like "ok this dude needs to be trained on how to talk to customers." but whatever. When we get to the cash register, there's a lady standing there, waiting to return something. He asks if she's been helped and she says no. It's at this point that he drops everything he's doing with me, turns his back and starts helping her (we're on opposite sides of the counter). I make a face, and even the kind customer said, "Oh no, you can help her first. She was first", because like I said, I had been talking to him for 15 minutes. does this guy not want to make a sale? He shrugs her comment off and proceeds to help her. This is the last straw and I walk over to another cash register infuriated. I also ask to speak to a manager. The manager comes over, and the rude man who was helping me also does. Mind you, I work in customer service, I know what to do when I have an angry customer-- I apologize for my behavior and I do anything I can to fix it. This man on the other hand starts to make excuses for his behavior and says "Mam, I had to help her, she was waiting". Also, at this point, the manager doesn't even step in to make him stop saying the stupid things he was. I say "I technically was first. I had been talking to you for 15 minutes. Does that not count as a customer waiting?" He says "It's our policy to help people that were waiting in line first." I look at the manager and ask her "Is that really a policy, despite the fact that he had been helping me first?" The manager stares at me blankly. Cool. Great job. And then the salesmen has the nerve to say "So it's fine if you come over here and let her help you out. I just wanted to explain why I did what I did". Fix your employee training policies, Nordstrom. This is absolutely ridiculous. read more

One of the cleanest Nordstrom's I've been in. Maybe because it is new, or maybe because there is the "Caruso" standard being in the Americana et al. Indeed they have great selection of bags, and evening dresses. Quite unique. I also like the bathrooms. I am sure most Nordstrom's will get some sort of a 4-star. Yesterday, I was at the Giorgio Armani beauty counter looking at some makeup. I saw 2 women standing there for a good 5 min chatting before one of them decided to offer me some help and call me "hun" which is totally rude. I asked for a specific color number and she ended up selling me the wrong makeup. Now I have to make a trip today and return the makeup because she was incompetent and didn't check to see if she gave me the right color lipstick. Shame.. read more

And though these days I live on the East Coast and unable to pop into the store regularly, I recently visited Nordstrom while in Glendale and had a very pleasant experience at the Shiseido cosmetic counter. I am truly appreciative of Kristy Tran's (Business Manager) expertise and dedication to her walk-in clients. Kristy was informative and thoughtful as she walked me through the lighter shades of Shiseido's Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation searching for the best color to match my skin tone. Kristy also introduced me to Shiseido's Benefiance NutriPerfect Night Cream -- "a high-performance nighttime recovery cream created especially for mature skin experiencing wrinkles and discoloration..." Not only is my skin showing signs of wrinkles and dryness these day, but I am also hyper-sensitive to all facial products and must be vigilant of any product I may use. Though, I was slow to accept Kristy's suggestion to use this cream, I am so glad that I did. I have now been using this product for over a week and have found that it is hydrating my sensitive skin much more than my usual nightly product. Thanks Kristy for being patient with me and for providing excellent guidance. If you desire personalized attention and service when it comes to finding the correct Shiseido product for your skin, be sure to visit the Shiseido counter at Nordstrom at the American at Brand and ask for Kristy Tran. I'd love to go on here every day and rave about the best service, write a survey, or talk to a manager but this didn't happen to me the day I came in to do an exchange. It was a simple exchange from online. I had my receipts and the item came to me in the mail yesterday so it was in good condition. She was even going to get the commission. The entire transaction she was curt, from beginning to end. No smiles at all. I tried to be cheery and spark up conversation but she was having none of it. When I asked her if she could do a manual DTC because I'm going on vacation (I used to work for the company so I remember using that policy to speed up a delivery for a customer) she was pissed. Finally when it was over she didn't even hand me the receipt she just put it on the counter and walked away. What happened to walking around the counter? Didn't even say thank you or goodbye. This kind of service is rude in any retail store and I expect so much more at Nordstrom because my manager would not tolerate this. She would not train her team like this. I'm very disappointed. Completely ignored from the moment I walked in to the Nordstrom's beauty and skincare area. I always buy my Paula's Choice products from a Nordstrom location so I don't have to wait for shipping from the website, and today I wish I had just ordered online. When I went to the main counter to pay, 2 associates walked up and ignored me, ringing up their customers and not even asking if I was ready to check out. Only after another customer told the associate that she could ring me up first, was my presence acknowledged. The tag showed up as a different item and they looked at me as of it was my fault (i.e., stolen). Clearly, someone from their store incorrectly reattached the tag before I purchased it. My cousin has a shoe size of 4 1/2 so it's really hard to find her a shoe that fits and looks good, but that difficulty was cleared thanks to our awesome helper Arthur. He was super attentive and he had a great attitude. Arthur even got stacks of 4 1/2 shoes just for my cousin, she was so happy! Definitely would come here again. Even though some of the Nordstorm employees at this location are in need of customer service training, he was able to assist me with a simple return/order. The customer service is lacking at this location. I was in the makeup department trying to find a good brow pencil for me. As I stood there trying on several different Anastasia liners I was very close to a group of about 4 employees gabbing away while one person was working on a makeup display. They were so busy talking about what they did the night before and if the others thought that they should have paired a different color shirt that would've matched better with their pants and sweater to even ask if I needed any assistance. I had better luck walking down to Sephora where they actually acknowledge their customers and help them out any way they can. read more

The new store follows the Sephora layout in the makeup section so that it's less intimidating to DIY. The floorplan overall is simple, clean and crisp. The lighting and the white floors are impeccable. The design and layout is modern and simplistic. Makes the products look good. The sales associates are awesome here and have great suggestions. I have mixed reviews about the service here. In one section, I was greeted and helped promptly. It was great customer service. However, in another section, I was ignored, and never even greeted. A few minutes later, another customer with a dog rolled by, and the workers went goo goo gaga over that dog. Guess a dog was more important than a paying customer? Too bad for you, bc you lost out on a sale. Besides that, it's a very clean and bright store. Great addition to the Americana. Came last week for their new addition (Nordstrom) to get a cropped animal printed long sleeve and I wasnt leaving without it! Some stupid girl left a make-up smear on it and it was the last of its kind! The sales rep from east coast, I dont remember her name (she was nice and friendly though) took it to their seamstress and brought it in ten minutes and the smear was gone! Happy with my purchase. This is our favorite Nordstrom store due to the location, the convenience, supply, and the all white interior. The staff is extremely helpful in the makeup department specifically which carries all of the higher end cosmetic lines. Although there is a Sephora right next door, it's convenient to have a well-stocked Napoleon inside of this Nordstrom. Three stories high, this store has everything you are looking for. If you're hungry, there's a casual e-bar on the first floor for a quick meal or you can go to the third floor and dine with a more sophisticated ambience or choose to enjoy the nice weather on their patio. -Ian & Megan read more

I came to Nordstrom Ebar in Glendale, CA. Inquired about the gift card promotion. They said they were not aware of it and the manager was not there. Very poor customer service. They never have the hemp milk and they close too early. I will not recommend this Ebar. Drinks are overpriced. Starbucks is cheaper for the same drink. read more

Recently, my beloved Lana choker necklace broke. I got it a little over a year ago and went to see about having it fixed or adjusted. For as long as I can remember, Nordstrom has had amazing customer service. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case today (1/19/20). The man working in the jewelry department told me I'd have to put a $50 deposit down for them to send my necklace away to repaired. From then on, it would take 2-10 weeks and I'd potentially have to pay more to have it fixed. It's a $400 necklace that I bought from Nordstrom in good faith that it wouldn't break/if it did they could fix it. Furthermore, It shouldn't break after a year and I shouldn't have to pay to have it fixed. I politely told him that I'd never heard of this policy, and he told me returns were made on a case by case basis and gave me a flyer for a jewelry repair shop across the street. I left. Something felt really off- so I called Nordstrom.com customer support who apologized profusely and told me the man was wrong. They offered to send me a new necklace free of charge. It's really bizarre to me that this location is the only Nordstrom I've ever had a bad experience at. I really hope something changes there as it soured my overall experience with Nordstrom as a whole. read more
