I'm surprised who this store has just 2 and half star. This is one of my favorite stores and anytime I walked in, I am getting really good vibe and feeling. I recently had a highly disappointing experience at the Hollister store at the Glendale Galleria in Glendale, CA. The customer service provided by some of the staff was shockingly rude and unprofessional, leaving me deeply frustrated and extremely unsatisfied with my visit.  My daughter was in possession of a $75 gift card that she received for Christmas and had been eagerly looking forward to using. However, due to the store representative's negligence and unhelpful attitude, the gift card ended up being rendered entirely useless and we ultimately left the store with a $0 value gift card and NO merchandise in hand. Upon checkout, I was met with cold indifference and no welcoming gesture from the associate. Understanding that it was busy, we tried to keep our visit short and proceeded to purchase the items. Our total was $77.06, at which point my daughter presented the associate with a gift card for $75 and a $20 dollar bill as we did not have change. The associate seemed inconvenienced by our choice of currency and told us she did not have change for 94 cents although from observing both associates adjacent to her, they both had more than enough change in their tills for her to break a dollar. She proceeded to imply that the only way to complete our purchase was to "round up" and donate the difference. I was hesitant and told my daughter to ask for change, but due to the pressure from the sales associate and my 13-year-old's eagerness to complete her purchase, my daughter complied with the associate. The associate rerang the entire purchase and quickly learned that the gift card could no longer be scanned or redeemed for any known reason. She seemed bothered, and we were met with a dismissive attitude that bordered on harshness. It seemed that her decision to round up irritated her and was somehow "our" fault.  No point in time did she apologize for the inconvenience this had caused us. She did, however, call one of the managers to get on the phone with customer service. Not knowing the amount of time we would eventually end up in the store, I offered to pay the difference with my credit card to get the ball rolling on our end. She seemed annoyed and rolled her eyes at me, which really perplexed me. I let her know that there was no need to roll her eyes as I was simply there to make a purchase. At this point, her lack of patience and unwillingness to assist was disheartening and made us feel completely unwelcome. I then asked for the number to customer service, at which point she reminded me her manager was already on the phone with them. I let her know I was interested in calling myself. Her facial expression at this point seemed irritated, and she hesitantly gave me the number. I also asked for her name, after which she boastingly exclaimed that she did not have to give me her name and she would not do so. I have never heard of a customer service practice whereby an associate refuses flat out to provide their first name to a customer, especially in such a rude and unprofessional manner. I was unable to get her name but was able to take a photo of her in the event that this review matters to someone at Hollister and would like to know who the employee is. One of the managers then escorted her out, and I proceeded to be helped by the store manager and associate manager. They apologized for the inconvenience of the gift card, but the damage had already been done by the nameless associate. After about an hour and forty-five minutes at check out, although the managers tried, the store was unable to rectify the situation or provide an explanation, and assured me that there was nothing they could do. In the end, I was told I had to wait 7 business days before my gift card's balance would be reinstated. We left defeated, and nothing was offered to remedy this situation. The disappointment of this experience, combined with the wasted value of my gift card, has left me with a deeply negative impression of Hollister as a brand and of this particular store. I expected much more from a company that prides itself on providing top-notch customer service and quality products. It deeply saddens me to have to leave such a negative review, but I believe it is important for potential customers to be aware of the subpar customer service and negligence exhibited by the staff at this Hollister store. I strongly advise against visiting this location if you are looking for a pleasant shopping experience and wish to avoid having your gift card go to waste. read more

I ordered a few clothes to be delivered to my house and one of the jeans was a bit big on me so I went to the Galleria store location to exchange it for a smaller size. I had a pair of shorts as well that did not fit me, so a girl named Leira helped me out and she was really sweet and did not make me feel like I was a burden for exchanging clothes. It was kind of busy during the time I went in, but she had her full attention on me and she made sure to help me with everything that I needed. She was excellent. read more

Visited 11/25/15 My kids love shopping here. I'm not that much of a fan due to the price, but they do have a fairly good discount room located in the last room. They need more dressing rooms though. There's only four. They also need more places to sit. They took some of them out. They even removed the two seats they use to have at the entrance. As a mom waiting for her kids to decide what they want me too pay for, I would like to sit and wait! Also, the clothes were in such disarray due to the sale. Very ugly looking. read more

Hollister by Glendale. They have wide selections of jeans for women. I went there to get my daughter's pants. Sarai was very nice to assist us, then since my insulin bloated my stomach for a year wasn't able to wear jeans because it gotten bigger couldn't wear my jeans from Abercrombie, Hollister, True Religion or even my Channel due to bloating , due to the good advice of Sarai and Alexia I tried the biggest size of a jeggings so happy and got it. I sat down on one space thought I could cause felt dizzy ... manager named Julian an Asian like me with an attitude called my attention( met her before when she was new) told me leave the place I am seated cause it is not a place to seat so I apologized. I went to her while she is talking to Charlize nice also crew and asked Manager Julian if they got this one item and she is oozing with attitude telling me I could bot answer that cause I am going to break... wow you could , just a minute plus you are the manager... I will let it alide for her worker Sarai, Alexia and Charlize were very respectful so nice ... but this manager has a snub and not welcoming attitude... Manager Julian you should be more nice because customers I know makes your store more bankable. I have compromised health my first time again to be back at store just asking you simple questions you could not respond... and it shows when you looked at me how snub you are. I never post negative reviews, ever. I just want to shop easy!! This is just a review to help make the store more successful, if that's ok.. :) First, I LOVE Hollister jeans and shorts. This company is the only one that makes jeans to fit my slender, talllllll build. I wear nothing but their jeans and shorts. No exaggeration. I normally shop at the Century city location but when I went the other day it was no longer in the mall which totally bummed me out. So I went to the Glendale location last night. I was soooooooooo disappointed when I got there. Their jeans we SO unorganized. Literally 2 full shelves of madness and 1 table that was a total wreck. Granted, I'm not the type at all the sift through piles of clothes to look for my size, style preference, sales, etc so I was really frustrated. I took one look at it all and left. Point is, it's really hard for me to fathom that the managers would make it so difficult and time consuming for their customers to find clothes to buy. There were plenty of employees "working" so why weren't they actually working. Put correct sizes and lengths and styles in order on the shelves so we can walk up, see labels clearly and grab what we need. Sounds simple enough to me. Idk, maybe not. Just a suggestion. Hopefully Hollister gets it together soon bc I need to refresh my entire Spring/Summer collection. I'd love to spend my money with them! So, I have never been to a Hollister one day in my life, until this week. I saw a dress on the Hollister website, that I really wanted to try on and hopefully find in the store. When I got in there it was kind of dark and the music was loud, but I was surprised to find a lot of really cute clothes at reasonable prices. I had never gone in before because I just assumed it wasn't my style and it reminded me of Abercrombie and Fitch, which I am not a huge fan of, but I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone who worked here was so friendly, and was willing to help me in any way. I had told them this was my first time in the store and they showed me around and gave me really great options to try on. I finally found the dress I was looking for online, and it was even 50% off which was awesome. Hollister, you definitely have a new fan, and I could see myself coming back for more clothes! Back in the pre-Hollister days, circa early 2000's, I was in college living off of my parent's allowance and my $5.75/hr minimum-waged part-time job. In spite of these facts, I loved Abercrombie and Fitch (A&F) and bought it like I'm freakin' rich simply because of the quality of the cotton of their shirts... they last. However, they are quite expensive. Then I found out about Hollister (HCO), in what seemed like a blessing from the A&F gods bestowed upon financially-challenged students like me. The quality is still there, only cheaper. I lived in Glendale back then and I would drive to Westfield Topanga in Canoga Park, about 30 miles from Glendale, for the nearest HCO shop. It was really cool back then because I was the first amongst my friends and the few around Glendale who would wear HCO. It was an A&F world in Glendale to the point that if you go to your favorite hangout spot wearing an A&F shirt, chances are you would be wearing the same shirt as some other dude there. Now mind you the phrase "Epic Fail" hasn't yet been created at that time but if it were, this would be one example. So wearing HCO made me different and it separated me... I prayed hard to the fashion gods and hoped that HCO would not ever open in Glendale Galleria to keep it hard for locals to get it. I promised myself that if a shop opened at the Galleria, I would stop buying it and would find something new. It's safe to assume that my prayers weren't answered. It's also safe to assume that I broke my promise. The next thing you know, HCO just didn't open a shop in Glendale, it has shops pretty much in every freaking mall in the southland. But because of its quality and price, I stuck with buying here through the years. I still dub it "cheap Abercrombie." I now have a much decent job paying a little bit more than $5.75/hour but I would still prefer HCO over A&F. The only thing I absolutely hate about HCO and A&F is that they don't carry my pants size. I'm 5'7.5" with a 32" waistline so I like my jeans in 33x30 because 32x30 is just a little tight. BUT for some reason, their sizes go from 32x30, 32x32, then 33x32. It didn't go to 33x30. WTF was that all about? 32 length is too long for me that I would have to fold the ends of my jeans to fit in it... Unfortunately, that style had gone out of the door for guys about 10 years ago... I hope the A&F and HCO gods are reading this post and start making 33x30 size pants. Either that or I'd have to lose one inch of my waistline just so I can start wearing their jeans. I prefer the former. Anyway, it's been fun going to this shop and HCO shops everywhere and I look forward to more visits. Quicktip: Check their website often at hollisterco.com. Sometimes they offer free shipping if you meet a certain amount of purchase but the upside is you get to choose some items that are not sold in-stores. My $0.02. The atmosphere has changed for the better. The lighting is brighter, allowing customers to appreciate the patterns and textures on their clothes. Your olfactory senses aren't overwhelmed by an excessive amount of their perfume or cologne. Instead the store still has their signature scent, but at a pleasurable amount. Even the employees were helpful and approachable. They came around every once in awhile to offer help, whether in search of a particular item or just for some feedback. There was a sale in the back, which had countless articles of clothing that were both more affordable and fashionable. They differed in purpose and seasonal use, so there was more to choose from. 2 weeks ago i woke up super early to head to Hollister for a pink and white crop top and pleated skirt me and my boyfriend saw through the window literally 2 nights before. I made a mental note to buy it on my day off. So Wednesday morning im literally at the mall at 9:50ish heading down to Hollister. I see my gorgeous ensemble modeling and taunting me on the display in the window. No one was in the store but me and mother and young girl. The manager on duty that day was a tall slender African-American male. He was friendly enough. I asked him about the outfit in the window and he showed me where it was hanging in the store. I tried on the outfit but realized i needed a size smaller in the skirt due to eating better ! Yay..anyways So i asked the man to see the skirt in a small. I also stated to him that this outfit was perfect. That i needed this to WEAR today since it was in the 90's that day and that i saw it in the window with my bf and that i don't even shop at Hollister ever but i had to have this set. The manager kept apologizing to me saying something about his associate called out and that he was the only one on the floor. Whatever . Just get me my size. Thanks. So im in the fitting room realizing i need smaller sizes but no one ever comes back to my room to help me so i have to get alllll the way redressed ...then i have to go hunt this manager guy down ...smh this store is set up weird. I felt like i was in all these different rooms but no associates in any of them..but there were at least 5 rooms i walked through before i found human life in the store. Creepy and frustrating at the same damn time! Lol So after im dressed i tell the manager how much i love the set but i need a smaller skirt. He tells me there are no more smalls and to try on the black and white outfit instead. Ummm y would i buy a pink and white top with a ugly zebra skirt. I wanted to wear it that day. I was there yesterday (Columbus Day), after receiving an email code for 50% outerwear. This supervisor named SAMANTHA, (chinese/ asian looking girl) really pissed me off! I always love going to this store, but now that they have this supervisor (SAMANTHA), I decided not to go there anymore. If only I can rate her separately, I can't even gave her 1-star! This review is actually directed towards one staff member in particular --- short haired brunette, to be specific. This is the first time I've ever had to deal with such horrible customer service here. Im standing in the fitting room line holding a handful of items... expecting someone to come in and assist me at any minute. 4-5 minutes go by and another lady is seen waiting in line behind me.. still no assistance. Meanwhile, both me and my boyfriend can't help but notice an employee who has walked pass the fitting room area a couple times already, yet still chooses NOT to acknowledge our presence. UM HELLOOO we are not standing there for nothing! My boyfriend loses his patience and walks over to her for assistance. She finally comes over and opens a fitting room door. She asks me how many items Im holding and as Im counting she goes, "never mind, I'll count" and sends me into the room. Rude! By this time, I'm already over it and just decide I wanna leave. As we're on our way out, we pass by the same brunette wearing the most unhappiest look on her face. At least FAKE a smile. You're in customer service. If you dont like where you work, then quit. We don't need your negative attitude and unwilling service. Please get your sh*t together & be kind to your customers. After all, without them you'd be unemployed. read more

The reps are polite and helpful. However, I am writing to point out that management should improve their customer service to open more registers. The wait time is at least ten minutes and I stood in line twice. The first time I was the next in line and the second I was the fifth. Both started with one register open. read more

This hollister has a pretty big variety of jeans compared to others. The only problem i have is that in the past 2 weeks i have gone twice to this same location and there happens to be a very rude employee working here his name i do not know but he is tall & has a slick ponytail. The first time i went was last week, i was shopping for jeans the line in the front was long and he was standing in the back where the sale items are located but he was standing directly in-front of the cash register I politely asked him if i could pay there since in other hollisters like the one in located in Arcadia they let you he didn't even look up from what he was doing and said no in the rudest way i was very bothered but i let it go. Today i went back and he was there once again but not at the cash register just walking around my friend was at the register signing up for a cali club membership but our cashier was having problems working the register anyways so she took a while trying to figure that out while we were waiting at the register i saw these two guys they looked like teenagers waiting at the guys fitting rooms to try on some jeans he had seen them earlier when he had passed by but had completely ignored them. About 5 minutes later he comes to help out the cashier he doesn't even approach the two guys or looks up he just simply yells out that those fitting rooms are closed he then goes and puts that tape from one pole to another! Went in two weeks ago to get my jeans exchanged for a small size because I bought it without trying it on....I do not find anything wrong in that, however, as the sale associate was trying to help me exchange it on the register, he said I need a manager to do the exchange. Long behold a manager (tall skinny) was very rude about it or looked like he was having a very bad day. I have one thing to say CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. I purchased a $50 Hollister gift card from Pavilion's. I mailed it to the recipient about 1 month ago, but they never received it. Pavilion's was able to give me the entire card #, but said I would need to contact Hollister regarding the lost card. I checked via their website to see if the card had been used. It has not. However, their canned response was that all sales were final. I find this totally unfair and unacceptable. The card hasn't been used so it can be canceled and a new one issued. I think this is a great example of poor customer service. The only one who looses here is me, the customer. read more

Awful service. The store is a mess. The employees who work there are useless. We went into the dressing room and there was nobody there to ask if we needed a room. There was only a random girl who was in there and she didn't say a word or even looked at us. Finally a dressing room opened up and the girl that had been standing there like she was lost just stared at me. If she hadn't held the door open I would never have known she was even working there. I had no idea some of them even worked there since they would just stand around looking bored and annoyed. Needless to say we didn't purchase anything. I'll try the Brea mall instead. I don't want to throw the merchandise or the deals under the bus (because they're awesome) but at least today, they weren't on their game. read more
