Personally... the grumpier, more eccentric, or offbeat a shopkeeper is the more I love it. It's what us LA natives grew up with and it gives a place character and authenticity. If people have issues with character other than "hello how may I serve your pretentious entitled self today?" They should be shopping in a different neighborhood such as Beverly Hills. Regardless of what anyone says, this shop has the most beautifully curated collection of fine Japanese treasures and I will be a lifelong customer. I hadn't heard of the shop before visiting, and we went because there was a sale. They apparently had some water damage in January and just had opened back up... and wanted to release some of the damaged and unfinished clothes for discounted prices. First I need to mention that the management and owner were standing outside and greeting everyone, chatting with them. I heard the full story of how this place came about, and the struggles they went through during covid and the rain. Just a great group of people running the shop and you really root for them to succeed. I bought two t-shirts, a sweatshirt and a hat. It has become my favorite pieces of clothing. The shirts are comfortable but thick material, and don't hug you in an unflattering way. They fit so well. I will definitely come back once they have a new round of inventory to check out their stuff.

They carry a huge selection of men's and women's clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories. Most of them are from the 1920's to the 90's. Also they carry vintage guitars. Came home Thursday night and Googled "last minute suits Los Angeles" and came across several Reddit threads recommending Al Weiss Men's Clothing. Made it over to them at 10:30 am Friday morning and a gentleman named Eduardo quickly assisted me and helped me find a great suit in the exact color I'd been looking for (deep forrest green) immediately. The price was incredibly fair and Eduardo pointed me to Silver's Tailor Shop across the street to have my new suit quickly fitted to me. By 11:15 am I was headed home, at 11 am the next day I picked up my new suit from Silver's and it fit perfectly. At 4 pm yesterday I arrived at the wedding feeling very good about my purchase, and the new suit got me compliments throughout the entire event. Been spreading the good word about these guys for the last 48 hours and will definitely be back to them for future suit needs; hopefully on a less aggressive timeline.

Just shows the low quality of management when someone is so insecure and has to hide from taking constructive criticism as an owner. I have documented proof over everything I said was true. The owner has no proof and should absolutely be sued for illegal acts and consistently lying and defaming me for her own benefit. Check out the photos I've attached. To respond to the owner, as I said I'm thankful for her accommodating me. I actually was going to delete my negative review, but I think how she responded made me want to clarify, in no way should there be an excuse on why you are not asking your sellers to provide authentication proof or a receipt of purchase from the brand's store. To tell me that I needed to do that is just unacceptable, because this is not my responsibility as a buyer. Also if you are going to say " most stores give a credit card refund" well most stores would hire an authenticator. Also, most stores keep their documentation and transaction histories for over a year. I actually went to the store, November 2024 and I initiated my first contact when I noticed at June 2025( only about 6 months not a year) when I noticed it was a fake item. Through the court system, if I wanted to sue I have a whole year after noticing the crime taken place to be able to file a lawsuit if I chose to. I was going to be a lot less confrontational if the owner acted on things quickly and stopped making excuses after excuses. We got this solved, but the owner should take accountability for the fact that you don't put blame on the buyer when an item is in question. So I stand by my review and will not take it down. Also, it is not appropriate for the owner to be asking me to give my credit card information over email and to hang up on me when I was trying to talk it out with them because they wouldn't respond for over a week. I hope this experience is looked at as a learning opportunity for the owner and I wish she does better in the future as this was draining for me for my time and energy.
