I stumbled upon this cute vintage shop while exploring Little Tokyo. Not only they sell authentic Y2K clothing brands like Abercrombie and Fitch sweaters from the early 2000s for over $40, but also have blind boxes, anime, Japanese goods, fun accessories, and a sale trunk on the back. I went home with a few Korean version of Chiikawa blind boxes and a nigiri bag keychain to gift my friend as souvenirs. The cashier was friendly and welcoming. They even have a vinyl album section next door. Definitely worth checking out when you're in Japantown. read more

Super cute store & it seems like the theme is "Everything Fun," which I love! I even bought a super cute fuzzy bear hair clip, which is adorable! There are cute socks, fun tees, quite a bit of vintage clothing/items, food, and drink-themed hand bags & so much more! Music is usually upbeat and customer service is super friendly! If you are into graphic tees and supporting local artists, as well as international, this is the place. There are 2 shops side by side, one is more focused on jackets, hats, accessories, etc while the other store next to it, mainly sell tees. The majority of the tees run large and loose. There usually is a sale if you buy 3 or more, you either get the 4th discounted, but it also depends on the day you enter. They are pretty good quality. I have bought one 4 years ago and design on it, is still intact. Great place to explore if you into arts. There is no parking lot since it's located in Little Tokyo village, so street parking or private parking lots. read more

We saw a lot of hype about this place and was actually directed to go check it out by another vendor in the village. I was expecting it to be bigger for some reason and I don't know why. But the t-shirt variety was definitely awesome. Unfortunately we didn't really find anything that sparked our particular fancy on this visit. It could be because at the time we got here we were tired or we'd already spent close to $100 at other stores and we just were in spending fatigue at this point. But overall I'm glad we went in and if I'm in the area next time I will try and hit this place first to see if it was a just me issue or not. read more

Popkiller has some great novelty and pop culture knick knacks, accessories, apparel and life essentials... they sell surgical mask in packs with prints... great for fighting germs year around while looking trendy... clothing is overpriced, but very unique. In the vicinity of Japan Town, around the corner on a side street there are two of these shops a few doors down from each other. It's a curio store with many items to catch your eye. Even the cashiers's look, attire and makeup gave off a hip cool vibe. With the popularity of unicorn trends, found a colorful unicorn headband unlike any I'd seen elsewhere in Hawaii. Just had to get it for the little sweetie and she loved it and wore it to school the following week. If you have the time to browse for the unique or bizarre you might like this place. They even give you free black thin stretchy plastic- like bracelets that was "in" many years ago. Even liked their clear plastic bags with their store name in bold pink letters. read more

We were waiting to get in to Komasa sushi restaurant before their 5 pm opening, so I took a walk along the strip. Little Tokyo has a lot of stores like Popkiller and among others that really have "stuff" that you really don't need and care for. It's almost like some of the stores on Sawtelle in W. LA. Though that being said, it's all really fun to just browse. Popkiller is just another used clothing store mixed with some new stuff like the sunglasses that I tried on. The problem with these stores is the "smell". If these stores can clean/wash their items thoroughly and keep the place tidy and clean, they would be a million % more attractive. However, I also understand that, that can also make the price higher too. I guess most of the customers that do buy from here would rather go into a smelly store and maybe wash the items after.the purchase. If this is the type of "money" saving that you like, then this is the right store for you. As for me, I'd just browse and maybe keep my nose shut as I browse...LOL Overall, I like to browse and see what these stores have to offer or are selling. I do not care for the "smell". Popkiller Second is a very unique store with all kinds of gadgets and things you probably never thought you needed (but now will!). One such item? A Pringles potato chip container that is a secret bank. I passed on the Pringles can (figuring I'd probably accidentally throw it out... Wait, where did I stash that $1,000?). The shop reminded me of the shopping when I visited Tokyo a few years back. It is a shop with gifts for the type of people in your life that have just about everything. But trust me, they probably don't have a wallet that resembles a pair of underpants or a ninja T-shirt. Or maybe your friends are cooler than mine? I stumbled upon this little gem in January 2018. I love vintage and consignment shops and every since Hot Topic came around and made punk rock and goth commercial, it has been hard to find an authentic shop that carries cool music tees and trinkets. What attracted me to the store was a tee shirt with Prince's mugshot on it...I immediately went in and checked it out. It was a little pricier than I would have liked. But, there is something to be said for original things. This is located in the Little Tokyo section of Los Angeles surrounded by a lot of cool shops and eateries. There are a lot of cool and interesting stuff. The clerk was really cool and friendly. I didn't have the time to really look around, but I will definitely stop by the next time I am in the area. Very interesting place! They definitely have quite a large selection and unusual variety of items. Their pricing is very fair especially for the area. Everybody struggling to make a dime and it's hard enough to keep good merchandise let alone keep it at affordable prices. I come across of a lot of unusual little hole in the wall stores on my journeys and this is one that I definitely need to go in and take a second look when I have more money! Whooo! In complete agreeance with the woman at the Popkiller location a couple doors down from this one, "we kind of have a monopoly on clothes on this small block of stores". Although I prefer that location to this one, they've got some nice stuff here! Unfortunately, it's a bit expensive, and a bit small. But if you're looking for a niche item or two, Popkiller definitely scratches that itch. I think a bit more variety for men's clothing would be a great improvement, but a fun place to look around notwithstanding. read more

This place said on the sign it was open and to come inside. When I opened the door something blocking the top of the door hit my head hard. The employee *laughed* and said sorry we're closed. Their other store has a lot of super cute shirts. I didn't have the best experience with them after washing them, but the owner was very helpful and that was much appreciated. What can I say... I heart Popkiller. You can get heart sunnies and a bunch of tee-shirts that will likely become your favourite ones. The designs are super kool and fun. Always find stuff to buy. I should try and check out the other ones around town because the stock is probably different. Yeah I know... it's all just kind of cheesey, novelty knick knacks. The costume jewelry can be chintzy, and things are a little grimey. Dare I say, almost like a Japanese version of Hot Topic or Goodwill. Also, I'm positive the shop-keeps chattering in Japanese, are totally dissing me and for examining everything in the entire tiny store with practically a magnifying glass. No, I am not paranoid. Pop!! Pop!! You just got caught-up in a Spencer's-esque store with a Japanese twist! You'll find all kinds of random stuff here, from graphic tees to gangsta gun sunglasses. I couldn't resist & had to try on all of their crazy sunglasses & yes I took pix & no I will not post lol... I couldn't get passed the mustache pacifier for babies (or ravers), depending on where you are in life. I'm too far past my rave days & somewhat approaching my baby-making days, but not quite there sooooo I'll just set this novelty down and move on to the next. Loved the Bourgeoise graphic tee! They used to have much larger locations at The Lab in Costa Mesa and one on Sunset in Hollywood but those locations went away. But, this one is still here. Inside they have fun little curiosity type items that frequently change. It is a good place to find that unique gift or come upon that item that you never knew you needed. Parking in Little Tokyo can be a bit of a problem, especially on the weekends, and Popkiller does not have its own private lot. So, if you are coming here plan to look for street parking or paying to park in one of the large public lots that surround the area. Over this is a fun shop, with a nice staff, and unusual items. read more

It's a Japanese owned and themed vintage style clothing store that also carries hats, toys, sunglasses, accessories, shoes, and records. Based out of the City of Angels since 2003, they have the luxury of working with innovative designers and local artists that create witty, one of a kind items. Custom orders are available as well. There are 3 other locations in LA & OC - Los Feliz, Hollywood, Costa Mesa. They got some cool gear, such as t-shirts, apparel for the kids and babies, bags, smart phone cases, pins, stickers, greeting cards, etc. "The Show Goes On" - Lupe Fiasco. I like to think of it as Spencer's Gifts on crack. Funky and random items that are just unique in nature. Check out the Bacon Wallet that I found. Quoting Kent D. - "Love, Peace and Bacon Grease!" Saw a t-shirt that said "Japans Sells Beer To Kids." I wouldn't be surprised at all if this was true. LOL. You know you just haven't tried pasta till you had some Penis Pasta. The neon yellow pseudo-shades (see pictures) win this place 4 stars all by themselves. I should have bought them for kicks. Darn it. But yeah, there's some really sweet clothing and accessories here in addition to some serious fashion roadkill pieces. Either way, it's all certainly interesting and more unique than you're going to find in a lot of boutiques. Everytime I come to little tokyo, I always stop by and check out the latest funky stuff at Popkiller. I have got earrings, I heart LA shirt and bunch of random craps from here before and really enjoyed those compliments from friends and strangers when I wear my I heart LA shirt. They have a pretty good selection of sunglasses, and some of those sunglasses are from those Japanese magazines. I wish they sell those magazines at the store too, so I can just see how they match some of those funky dresses and shirts with those sunglasses. Also they have those cool cans that you can hide stuff in there, wink wink. My friend bought one Dr. Pepper can, and once you twist the top lid, there's a little container inside, but no one would ever think that can of Dr. Pepper is actually not a soda. So the store has a lot of very dope stuff, and definitely a place to check out when you are in little tokyo! read more
