I will always be cool enough for this store. You wouldn't know it though because I don't wear black. I consume a lot of pop culture media. I make good choices. I have a giant collection. Prices may go up But so does value. What is your value? People that work here are always helpful. I'm glad there isn't a bathroom because it's always do awkward to have eye contact with a fresh bathroom buddy... especially when I'm shopping for my radical friends. Thank you read more

Came into check out the Thrilljoy experience at Hot Topic and it was great! There's so many characters to choose from and it was nicely stocked. The Hot Topic team kept checking in on me and my daughter and asked if we needed help. Everyone is so friendly here and the merchandise was perfectly organized in all the aisles and shelves. The reset they did at this store is amazing too! So much room to walk around with my daughters. My eldest didn't want to leave! read more

Been shopping at this Hot Topic for literal years and was excited to see that they introduced pin trading. I used to be a casual pin trader in the Disney parks back when I had annual passes, so I came in to the store to trade with my pin book. First experience was SUPER positive and I even ended up speaking to the manager and some employees and even showed them how to spot fake Disney pins to avoid accepting pin trades for inauthentic pins. The manager is extremely kind and most of the employees are, too. So why two stars? I came in today and wanted to trade a pin I had just bought at Box Lunch minutes ago. I ended up getting a duplicate so I came in to Hot Topic and an employee named Peach saw that the pin packaging I was pulling the pin out of had a clearance sticker on it. "I don't trade clearance". Huh? Is my $8 pin not good enough to trade? Hot Topic has two-pack pins for $14 and their website also frequently has buy two get one free deals. How is my pin valued at $12 any different? I told her that her mentality made literally no sense and walked out. Went back into Box Lunch and traded with the wonderful employees there. Only reason this isn't one star is because the manager and other employees are absolutely wonderful. I came back in to get the employees name and the manager very kindly insisted on helping me trade. At that point, I was over it and said "I'm good, it's just weird". It's a pin (it's not that serious), and it's supposed to be fun. What's ironic is I did indeed see an inauthentic Disney pin on the board last week while shopping. My authentic pin wasn't good enough, though. read more

I stopped by this Hot Topic this morning to see if they have any tshirts my wife will like. I got her some Hey Arnold shirts from here before so I wanted to see if they have anymore. I didn't find any Hey Arnold shirts but they had other shirts on display. They staff here are very nice and approachable, a worker came up to me and told me about their tshirts deal. I really like how this Hot Topic is set up because some items are displayed nicely and they have a lot of Funko Pop as well. read more

I went to hot topic today for the exclusive drop and even though I didn't get a Zoro, the girl work works there whose name is PEACH she was very organized and fair. She was also very nice to the customers both who were able to get a Zoro and those of us who didn't. I was still able to buy exclusive One piece cards and so I was happy with that! Love the vibes and ambience of this store! read more

Many stores including Target allow you to vlog. It brings in more clientele through social media however Hot Topic does not. I asked the manager if I could look up the policy cause I did not know you could not record. I thought you just couldn't record other customers. When I asked she became rude and asked me to leave the store. Mind you I never actually recorded anything I just simply asked why we weren't allowed to record. A simple explanation and allowing me to look up the policy would have sufficed. But anyway the manager was actually extremely rude, sarcastic, and condescending. read more

I had unfortunately been double charged when I was doing a return.... Instead of this girl being able to return it she had made the big mistake of just re ringing up the items and reselling them???! I'm very unhappy with the service and the worker who was not paying attention!!!!!!!! read more

I don't usually write reviews but I have to shout out the amazing customer service. It was busy because of the weekend/location, but everyone was super personable and helpful with figuring out my purchase. It's hard to both give attentive service and also efficiently juggle the large number of shoppers like this team did, so I really do appreciate just how smooth and fun the shopping experience was! read more

Appreciate the customer service! Bella was really nice and she made us aware of possible discounts. My daughter who is a Sanrio fanatic got some Christmas items which she really loves like a My Melody Christmas stockings and press on nails. Appreciate Bella's kindness and warmth! read more

Honestly only writing this review because of the amazing service,I'm so devastated I did not get to get him name but all I remember was he had a cat necklace, and curly Gingrish hair,One of the kindest souls I've ever met,it was compliment after compliment. Tiny and has almost nothing to look at. Service is garbage, employees are rude and don't even know their own store. Two of them were helping me with a return and even though i had the receipt they only allowed store credit, they argued with me about wether it even was from hot topic for 10 minutes of my time and there was clearly a tag on the item. Ridiculous and a waste of time, needs new employees read more

I love coming to this location. The customer service here is great and they always have good merchandise. This last time I went two sweet girls gave the best service that I had to write a review to give them praise on how great they were. The names were Rosa who was in cashier and Peach who was working on the sales floor. Keep it up! read more

I literally only come to this location to kill time while I'm on my lunch. I occasionally purchase something here and there when I see something I like. Mostly, I purchase from online because I don't have employees attempting to up-sale something I don't need. This location is so crammed with (useless) stuff - you're barely able to move around without bumping into someone or knocking something down. The few times I've asked employees for a certain item they always say its either sold out or to check online which is why I don't bother asking for help. If I don't see it anywhere in the store then I just order it online when I get home. read more

Employee with blue and orange hair made me and my sister wildly uncomfortable. It was clearly of no bad intent but it's really inappropriate to shout at us in excitement and press us for conversation when we were clearly walking away from them and didn't want to be rambled to. My sister bought a pair of cat ears which prompted them to shout "YES! YES! YES!" at us and embarrass us, and say "Awww, you guys can have a little moment with those.". I don't know what that's supposed to mean but it's weird to say that to me and my sister, let alone customers who aren't related to eachother. This was the third time they approached us after we uncomfortably dismissed and avoided them. I've avoided this store since because of how badly I don't wanna deal with that again. Please approach your customers as CUSTOMERS, not best friends. Genuinely we could not have left the store faster, and on top of all that they were distracting the checkout employee and prolonging it. Other than whatever that was.... clean and organized store with appropriate and friendly employees. read more

I haven't been to Hot Topic in ages and my visit did not disappoint. The staff that work at the Glendale Hot Topic are so friendly and helpful. I called in advance and asked if they had an item and they said they did. When I arrived to the store that day, their staff welcomed me and asked if I needed their help. The folks on the phone, on the floor and behind the register were so great! I know y'all got quotas to meet, but it really is incredibly inconvenient to have a sales associate approach customers in each new area of the store they enter. You can't move an inch here before you're approached. Trust me, I don't need help, I've been here for one minute and four employees have already asked if I'm doing alright and then monologued about deals that have been going on for years at this point. I'd get it if they were paid on commission (they're not), so maybe chill out on the sales talk for a min and let me shop in peace. An incompetent new hire (Lily) charged me for their tax write offs disguised as donations despite specifically saying no. Maybe if the sad, sanitized covers they played repeatedly in store wasn't so loud, this employee would have actually heard me. read more

Oh, the inner, angst-ridden high schooler in me jumps up and down in nostalgia every time I walk into a Hot Topic. I love the shirts; I love the jeans; I love the jackets; I love the flannels; I love that everything actually fits me! They carry my size, a feat other retailers could care less about when it comes to catering to physically-disproportionate, 5'6 men as myself. This particular location counts with all of the above mentioned merchandise minus my jean size, and admittedly the only reason why this is a 4 oppose to a 5 star review. Everything else is on-par with the Hot Topic standards that keep me a loyal customer throughout the years. The employees are sweet and helpful, especially when it comes to searching through highly-hanged jackets to grab one in my size (thank you so, so much!). The shirts come in a variety of designs; from mainstream to indie Rock, TV show and movie-inspired, and the anime and MCU game is strong when it comes to not only the t-shirts but backpacks and other accessories. Oh, and the Hot Cash; they hand these out like free candy when making a moderate purchases and it makes for a virtually free purchase at a later date. There you have it; this is why I love Hot Topic and if skinny jeans, fitted tees, and having your favorite superhero's face on your chest is what your style's all about--you should too! read more

#1 KIMMAY #1 !KIMMAY-FANASTIC! BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! A week ago I stopped by Hot Topic Glendale Galleria midday to purchase a Harry Potter outfit for my daughter for her school Special Harry Pot dress up day... Being the outdated and out of touch parent I had no idea that there were different sects of Harry Potter "house" .. Therefore, instead of HufflePuff , what she actually wanted, I bought Gryffindor Cardigan , head band, and tie set. Excited, I layed it out on her bed to surprise this little 9 year old... and yes I threw away receipts and all tags and packaging . She comes home and to my bewilderment , instead of a "Heck Yeah! Thanks Dad!", I get a "Ah Maaaaannn, Dad I'm a Hufflepuff NOT a Gryff!" "A whaa!? A powder puff?? A was that you say??" I call the store and some gal tell me that I must have one of 3 in order to make an exchange... receipt/tags/membership data .... I had none and pretty much she left me with "Sorry, good luck!" kind of reply. I was totally bummed for my daughter and not to thrilled with their exchange policy when in fact I can easily prove that I made the purchase recently with them. Anyways long story short, down and out and feeling a bit defeated my daughter and I made a our pilgrimage to the mall store thinking ways to improve the outfit by maybe purchasing some HufflePuff accessories... and then the MIRACLE... KIMMAY! Approaches us and offers us her service if needed and that when I bring up our predicament. Right away without skipping a beat, "Hey no prob, we can do an even exchange"... My jaw dropped and my daughter was jumping for joy.... SUPER JOY... that's what makes me happy to see her happy. THANKS KIMMY FOR MAKING MY DAUGHTER's DAY! She will be putting on this outfit for her school HaryPOt day, Father Daughter Halloween dance, Halloween trick or treat, and her upcoming Universal Studios Hogwarts trip. I worked in customer service for an extended period in the earlier part of my career... specifically Nordstrom, and Kimmay made the executive decision to fulfill our needs and wants to the fullest and beyond our expectation in which her colleagues failed to do over the phone. Heck my daughter even suggested that we should of bought Kimmay dinner. Thanks for making us special and reviving my somewhat distaste for Hot Topics to making us fans to go shop and tell others about what a great Rep you got in Kimmay @ Hot Topics Glendale Galleria! Yeah go see KIMMAY , you will be extremely pleased you did count on it! PIC enclosure , Daughter Tani-Jade in HuffPuff outfit . read more

Outstanding customer service by Ky. She was knowledgeable, out going and helped my daughter our.

Hot Topic you got kinda lame now and overrated. I remember this place being about rockabilly, punk, metal and all that other rock related stuff. Now you play Justin Bieber songs and that is lame. The design of your store is not even dark, it is all bright like coming to visit Forever 21 or Aeropostale. If I wanna shop to those places than I will go there, but if I want feel a bit edgy on a certain day than I go here. So what happen????! Anyways every time I go here they rarely have anything and I want and I love the selection of seatbelt belts have. But so expensive my chance of just trying to find it on ebay :(. Maybe I am just a cheap bastard hahaha read more

I always wanted to be cool. But I was always to insecure to rock a style fully. HOT TOPIC for me was like where cool and danger had sex. I still listen to Alice In Chains and dream of one day being able to hang out at the mall and walk into HOT TOPIC without fear of being a standout. The only time I ever walked in was the day before Halloween 2005, I wanted to be a Ghoul and couldn't find any costumes at any stores. So my mom suggested we go to the scary Halloween costume store in the Glendale Galleria!!! You can see where this is going.... all excited for my perfect Halloween costume, we walk into the mall and go upstairs and walk towards all the hot cool kids and I start walking slightly slower because that's freakin HOT TOPIC OMG NO MOM NOOOOOO! "Umm do you have any Ghoul costumes here"... I say to the man behind the counter... " What's a ghoul?.... " it's like a Zombie but not really".... even I didn't know what the difference was.... "No, we don't sell costumes here". I was Jimmy Hendrix that year. read more

This place is a go-to for anyone who's into fashion. Especially if you're in the punk scene or want to stand out from the crowd. Hot Topic has a variety of clothing and accessories, lots of cool stuff. I wanted to buy a Slipknot t-shirt but they only had extra large. I requested a size medium to be shipped to my address and the attendant at the register was super friendly and patient. Unfortunately they did not have any medium-sized shirts in stock. Still giving this place a 5-star because of the amazing customer service, definitely recommend this place. read more

Just got out of here with the worst experience, purchased 2 gauges( body piercing), after purchasing them I stepped out of the store and tried to put one of them on. Sadly they were way to big and didn't get close to fitting,(like trying to put a ping pong ball up your nostril, it's not going to happen)so I went back in the store to return them. And guess what, happy holidays from the hot topic crew!?They wouldn't return my earring for some bull excuse of contamination. I tried explaining to the two women behind the counter that there is no contamination issue, I never put the earring on cause it was way to big. Bull crap thanks for stealing my money you two, good part is you don't even get to keep it, hot topic ceo just got richer. Never coming here again!! Sticking to the OG spot, anyone who wants good body piercings check out Maya in Hollywood, don't waste your time here, great selection and good customer service. None of this crap read more

11-27-19 Greeting:No Store appearance: Foul smell as if there was a plumbing issue. I have lost faith in the art of customer service. Last night I went to Hot topic to get a gift card for my daughter. Upon arrival I walked into the store directly to the service counter. A couple was trYing to get help on an additional item they wanted to buy. The cashier was trying to help, then finally called a manager to help. At this point there were three people behind me, with the couple still remaining in the line ahead. At no point did the cashier or any other employee try to get the rest of the line handled. In the meantime the line had grown to 7 or 8 more people behind me. I then see an employee rushing in the store towards the back cashier station. I sighed relief. But wait ..she wasn't opening up the register she was breaking apart pieces of sensors or something. After waiting 15 minutes of not being acknowledged by anyone, being ignored by other staff.. I had it. I left the store after having my time wasted and nothing to show for it. Oh and as I was Leaving the store I saw Another employee just kind of hanging around.. NOT acknowledging anyone. Smh. The manager, the employees everyone there needs some retraining. Or Hot Topic you need to do a serious overhaul. read more

Every time I visited the Glendale mall, the first I would visit would be Hot Topic. Once you arrived, you would be greeted by very friendly staff. I just love their merchandise and products since I am a big fanatic with movies and anime. There are times when I drag my friends or family to this store when I want to see what new products they have. My aunt and I would sometimes go there for the pops since she is a big collector on them. The place is clean and organized. You do have to ask an employee if you can use the changing room but, everything else is fine. read more

This review and 4 stars are solely for the excellent customer service I've received on 12/19/17 from Josh. I know, I know, YES, I shop at Hot Topic, and, no, I'm not in high school, or a poseur, or whatever else lame thing this should make me. I can't help it! They've got cute stuff! There's not much to complain about this store, I guess it all depends on what your shopping for, so when I was shopping for a black bustier set that wasn't going to charge me VS prices, this was the place. This is actually a good Hot Topic for whatever that is worth. This one is really clean and the staff is cool. I have not been to one in many, many, many years, but there was a particular Metallica shirt that I needed to get a hold of and they had one and only one and it was the display one and it was in my size. Now, all I needed to do was to convince them to give it to me. I asked, hey can I have that shirt, I will buy it right now. They said absolutely, brought a ladder out, got it down and sold it to me. All that without a single sigh like I was bothering them. AMAZING! For whatever Hot Topic is now it was a good stop. read more

The selection here never disappoints for those who a fan of anything popular! Whatever the "hot topic" is in today's society they would definitely have merchandise for it! The divisions of what they have in stock are pretty organized. They have the main shirts and clothing on the walls, one section full of their Funko Pop!s, the accessories and memorabilia would be in the middle islands, and many other stuff that you may find interesting will be here. From comic books, movies, music, books, tv shows, this place has some pretty cool stuff. The staff were always welcoming every time I drop by. I love coming here and saying what's up to the staff. They will ask if you need help with anything or have any questions for specific items you may be searching for so don't be afraid to ask! When it's busy the place may be a bit tight, but only beachwear they have a wide selection of stuff to get, so might as well look to see what they have. They always update their deals and sales once in a while, so you should double check if you have any coupons/hot cash available. read more
