My Joker Shirt, Michael Jackson Shirt, The Nightmare Before Christmas shirts and my Sirius Black shirt (I'm disappointed a lot of the Harry Potter stuff is just online now and not in stores!) Their Harry Potter shirts are wonderful! I'm planning on getting a Snape one soon! This is like the only store that has pretty legit shirts like that. and if your a Twilight Saga fan you will feel like a kid in a candy store, they almost always have something Twilight related........literally always. I know before it was all rock and goth gnar but with anime and other genres being on trend and having massive followings hot topic got hip to the game. I will always love Hot Topic. When I went into my first one one the nineties when they first started popping up in malls I was shocked and amazed to see all my exclusive punk shit being sold in a mall. Was punk dead? Was this selling out? I promptly bought a spiked bracelet and some super-cute tapered black jeans I wore to death. I'm 40 now and I still shop at Hot Topic. I'm goth like that. I don't mind being the old lady getting a dressing room. The clothes are so cute, especially the little sundresses and jewelry. Because it's really for teenagers the prices are quite reasonable. Always a plus. Their "friends with benefits" discount cards are hilarious. I get that Hot Topic is a young person thing. I think that's great the youngs can buy cool subcultural shit at the mall. When I was a teenager we had to drive downtown to tiny scary shops for our special snowflake subculture clothes. I think I lost my "friends with benefits" card because it's not like I go to Hot Topic all that often. Friends with benefits are not a priority for me in general. But if I'm at the Glendale Galleria of course I'll stop in and take a look around. Hot Topic is always a hoot. read more

So I only came here BECAUSE I knew what I was getting. I wasn't really browsing around for anything but the NEW CINDERELLA MOVIE collection. I'm a HUGE fan of Disney and Cinderella is my favorite Princess. (back to the review) I had called the store while at work and asked if they had the specific sizes I needed. Which luckily they had them in stock. I got the Blue dress, a corset dress, and a vintage coat held at the counter for me. I checked the store hours on YELP! and realized A MAJOR problem. The store hours close at 7pm?! I called again and the man on the phone told me that the store closes Mall time aka 9pm. I was relieved to hear that. Upon getting there I asked one of the lady clerks to get the clothing I put on hold. I got to try them on and sadly the sizes I had held were too large. I wanted to get all three items. So the same lady clerk helped me find sizes that were smaller. She took one off of the mannequin so I could purchase it! So I got all three items that I wanted. Because the store was having a BOGO (buy one get one) 1/2 off sale I also got a Beauty and the Beast rose necklace. I love it. Unluckily to my dismay, when I got home two of the items still had their security tags on them. I think we kept talking too much at the register. I don't fault the clerks for that. They were all very engaging individuals. I went back to the Galleria the next day and they we're immediately sorry and quickly removed the security tags without questions. Still a great staff. I can't fault them for a minor inconvenience (that I might have caused). I have to admit that I'm shocked at how much Hot Topic's wares are not really alternative. I feel like it's becoming this estranged anime-pop culture-Disney store as opposed to it's rock-alternative-goth appeal. read more

Hot topic makes me so sad nowadays. Go to one of their stores and, if you ever shopped here before, say, 2000, you'll see why I'm sad. It used to be like a forbidden zone- dirty t-shirts, more rock'n'roll/punk/metal/goth shirts, body jewelry, etc. etc. etc. Now, there is Justin Beiber and hip-hop bullshit hanging from their walls, and it just straight-up sucks. If you want to buy something from HT nowadays, I recommend going on their website where they actually have some decent shit. Went in and saw they had a sale on all jeans for $25 if you buy two. Only to find out that half of them would be full price, though advertised signs signalled all jeans were part of the sale. I was helped by a VERY SWEET girl. I can't remember her name but she had red hair Latina girl. Helped me out through the store and gave me suggestions on what to buy. Didn't rush me at all as they we're closing. I was trying to choose a case for my phone. Unfortunately the girl who ringed me up for my purchase wasn't nice. Fatima was sooo rude and looked like she was kicking me out! I walked out of the store. I tried my new case as I was waking out the store thankfully I did because it didn't fit. I went back in and told the first girl that was helping me out. We tried many times to fit it in. Anyway it was a clearance item which isn't refundable. I went to the register and Fatima even tried to force my phone in the case after I told her it didn't fit 2 times!! She finally said we don't do returns on clearance and I told her it doesn't fit my phone why would I want something that doesn't fit my phone? And she said again we don't do reruns but I'll take it this ONE TIMe only. She had mega ATTITUDE. The best thing about Hot Topic is the service--they are really cool peeps from the managers to sales people. No attitude here. The merchandise is hit or miss, just like sister store Torrid--I do have some pieces from Torrid that are staples in my wardrobe and get many compliments. And then sometimes I go in there, and leave with nothing. Sadly. I guess it's worth it to drop by once a month. I have seriously thought about writing to the buyers, but maybe I'm just not part of their "teenage" demographic anymore. LOL read more

This review is for MONICA! I walked in a couple mins ago looking for a new septum ring. As soon as I walked in I was immediately greeted and asked if I was looking for anything specific, I told her and she pointed me in the right direction, told me if I needed help to let her know, and she left me to shop in peace. I ended up picking a piece of jewelry but was confused and wanted to ask her (seeing how she has piercings herself, although I'm aware she isn't a body piercer but some advice was better than no advice) if the piece I got was appropriate. Pretty much long story short I was originally pierced with a 14g horseshoe, and when one of the balls fell out I threw in a really thin ring (big difference). I picked up a 16g in store and explained to her my situation. She pretty much said it would hurt to "stretch" the hole back out. Walked me back over to the case where they have the jewelry and helped me pick something else out. Was extremely patient, informative, and in the end her recommendation (20g) was perfect. The service at this location is not very good. I have been to this location a bunch of times because it is the closest one to my house and each time I am here, there is only one register open and a long line and then you see other employees just standing around talking and doing nothing. Why don't you open up another line if you see a bunch of people waiting in line? Also, if people are at the register paying for their items and also signing up for a card which they offer everyone, this increases the wait time in line a lot more because people take their sweet time filling out the paperwork while you wait and wait and wait. Plus, the employees are not very helpful when you ask them questions about the merchandise. This location really needs to make some improvements. read more

My wife and I have been looking for a particular Funko pop exclusive and when my wife and I walked in we were told that they had the Funko pop we were desperately looking for available. My wife was told that since it was an exclusive it was limited to one per person and it was a corporate policy. My wife told them that, that was ok since I would be buying the other one for a friend of hers and we would like to use the BOGO 50%. Leslie or Lizzy whatever her name was then told wife that because my wife said that she can no longer sell my wife the pop and we cannot do the BOGO. My wife then called our local store and found out that there was no such corporate rule. My wife told Leslie/Lizzy that we are not like the flippers that come in and grab all the exclusive for resale. All we wanted was one for us and one for her friend. She then rudely told my wife there were none of the Funko pop we were looking for available at the store. Customers don't like to be lied to and please keep in mind that you "Leslie/Lizzy" had made false accusation about us and lied to our faces. We will be calling the corporate office. read more

I bought a Halloween merchandise without trying it on, because there's no apparent fitting rooms in the store...I took it home tried in on and the corset was awfully painful in the armpit area. I went back a day later to return it and the first question the manager by the name of "Kimay" asked was "was this worn?" (When the product had full tags and clearly did not look worn). First of all, the appropriate question to ask should've been "was there something wrong with the item? ". Anyways, a minute later she's like " oh this is a final sale item since it has the orange tag on it". Then why was it important to ask "was his item worn?" Ridiculous, downright rude. Instead of issuing a store credit ...and here's the best part when I initially bought my merchandise there was some sort of "coupon" attached to my receipt for future use...she took that back and didn't leave it in my bag. Management really needs to work on their customers service !!! After all, retail shouldn't be merely about pushing to sell items, instead it should have a balance on keeping customers happy in order for them to return. read more

They are trained to mislead their customers by offering more products so you won't get the big deal that you thought. ( Hot Topic-Glendale) My daughter bought 2 Caps for $19.90 for buy one get one for $1.00 promo, sounds good right?, and then they offer her a shopping bag for 4.90 with 30% discount and she has $5.00 coupon. Total amount she paid $29.00 inv # 3981. When I checked the receipt, it didn't add up correctly. So I went back and checked with the cashier (can't remember her name) how come my daughter didn't get the deal and she said because she got a bag and I said maybe you offer her and she quickly responded with an attitude saying, "Of course we will offer her." I was shocked at the disrespect! Then I asked for the Manager Ashley and she apologized and said that she would refund the difference and I returned the bag. She handed over the receipts and said that I should see the refund. Now my credit card stmt. came and the refund/credit that was suppose to be recorded didn't show and got charged for another $ 9.59 inv # 840. I called the number but it's hard to connect.
