I came here for the soft opening, and it was just A-OK! The only matcha place I have tried in the past is Matcha Cafe Maiko. Meccha is about a par below that level in terms of flavor and taste. I tried the Meccha 8 Parfait on this visit, and it was honestly pretty disappointing. The flavors just didn't mix very well especially with their beans and whipping cream. The soft serve was pretty lackluster compared to Matcha Cafe Maiko. On the bright-side, the decor inside the store is really cute with bright paintings and decorations. Its a great spot for a date night. I am really hoping that Meccha Matcha improves over the next few months. I can see so much potential in this place if their service and desserts kick it up a notch! read more

Today was the grand opening so I was expecting the line to go out the door! As a result, I was pleasantly surprised that it was a 15 min wait in line and 5 min wait for the order. Selection:5 There is more variety in the selection for this cafe compared to the other matcha cafe. They have more flavor combinations (ex. Lavender Matcha), different levels of matcha, etc. If the other matcha location was to bitter for you this location will probably be better because the taste is more subtle. Matcha Float: 3.5 I had the matcha float with Matcha Icecream level 2. At first it didn't work for me because I didn't like how there were ice crystals in the ice cream and that both were a bit bland. However, once the icecream melted into the ice matcha it was perfect! However, they added to much ice which made it more like a matcha drink with ice cream on top instead of a traditional float. Where the drink mixes with the icecream. Lavender Matcha: 5 The flavor was amazing! It was really clean and I could drink it up in less than a minute. The cashier said that they prepare the lavender at the store and they don't use dried lavender. Roasted Matcha Ice-cream soft serve: 4 It was less bitter then the one at the other matcha location but it's still really good. I would get this one instead of one of their Matcha ice cream because it's really smooth and the matcha comes out well. If you are not a fan of bitter Matcha I would suggest this cafe over the other. However, if you want that strong matcha flavor I would go to the other one. I think their menu is a hit or miss so it more of a 3.75 read more

PASSION FRUIT MILLE CREPE CAKE I really liked the smooth, soft creaminess of this cake. The cake was the perfect consistency and texture. The passion fruit could've been more spread out between the layers because it was mostly on the top of the cake and just really cream was in between the layers. I didn't taste any passion fruit if I didn't have a piece of the top layer. MATCHA SUMMER- matcha, strawberry, and sparkling This drink was good. I liked the matcha flavor, but didn't taste much of the strawberry. It was earthy, but not too bitter. HOJICHA CHAI- hojicha, honey, and cinnamon I always loved chai; so I had to give this drink a try. I could taste the cinnamon and the gritty hojicha, but this drink was a bit too watery for my liking. I wanted something a bit thicker. YUZU ANGEL- yuzu, sparkling, and chia seed I really liked this drink. It was very refreshing. The yuzu was citric and the chia seeds added a good texture to the light drink. Came to this place when it opened on Saturday. It was pleasantly not packed at all. I ordered the Matcha Summer drink and loved it! It has just the right amount of matcha, not too sweet at all. I couldn't really taste much of the strawberry in it, but it was still refreshingly good. I also tried the Hojicha Cacao and it was very toasty. If you like expresso or even dark chocolates, this is the drink for you. Would def order both again! Customer service was great! This was a nifty little place at the corner of the strip in the plaza. I know it's a matcha place but I ordered a hojicha cacao, I mean it was on the recommended list. My wife ordered a matcha summer so I tasted hers. I just wanted to try something a bit different. My drink was very tasty and the chia seeds added a good texture to the drink as I drank it. It had a roasted green tea type flavor (which is exactly how the employee described it), but also like a chocolate flavor. Well duh cacao! The matcha drink had a strong matcha taste if that's what you like versus a matcha with more sweet flavor. The decor inside was pleasant. The picture of the animals were fun to look at, especially if you own a dog or cat. The employee was very nice when we asked questions and said to have a nice day when we left. Not a problem, they let me choose one of the hard scoop varieties for the parfait. The top of the line ice cream with the most matcha content had a great creamy texture and strong matcha presence. The perfect choice if you were to have it on it's own. My sister ordered a cup of this and we asked the cashier what small topping for texture would go well. She said "I like to eat my matcha with chocolate" which apparently means a matcha white chocolate paw print. I decided to do a lower level of matcha ice cream for my parfait, level 2. Each time, I asked to clarify, the lady at the counter and even the manager said, "yes, the scooped ice cream is vegan, but the soft serve ice cream in the machine isn't vegan since it isn't homemade." So trusting their word, I ordered level 3 matcha: 55% of matcha ice cream on a cone. I ate it thinking it was vegan, but not until today I found out that the only vegan options are: -Matcha Paradise -Matcha Lover So happy that this restaurant has what I thought was vegan ice cream, I posted a picture of my matcha ice cream on my Instagram feed and received a comment from the owner and founder of Meccha Matcha telling me that the ice cream isn't vegan. I'm disappointed that I was lied to - false advertising, miscommunication, and misunderstanding from the staff at Meccha Matcha. The soft serve is sweet and milky but still has a lot of tea flavor. The hojicha is more bitter, with actual flecks of tea leaves. The bingsu part is just sweet, milky ice with a thick drizzle of black sesame sauce that's not too sweet. Toppings include sweet red bean and tang yuan (chewy rice flour balls). I love that this dessert isn't too sweet, which makes it pretty easy to down! I had a great time here and will be back to try their other desserts!
