I should preface this by saying I'm a huge fan of mango. So a mango dessert place? Heck yessssss Hui Lau Shan doesn't disappoint. I've been here multiple times. My go-to is their Mango Pomelo Sago, which you can also get the jumbo size. For two people, I'd recommend the standard size - that's usually enough, especially if you've already eaten a meal and this is your dessert. The taste of this alone is worthy of a 5-star review for Hui Lau Shan. I think the combination of pomelo and sago with the mango and ice cream really goes together deliciously well. But hey, there's more! I was introduced to their mango mochi, which comes in easy-to-take-home packaging. So it's quite easy to eat the Mango Pomelo Sago on site while bringing more yummy dessert home for snacking on later. It's utterly delicious. Service is fast. This location is in the poppin' Dun Hwang Plaza of Bellaire Chinatown, so if it's hard to find parking in the lot, use the parking complexes - it so happens that Hui Lau Shan's location is really close to one of the Dun Hwang parking complexes, making things really convenient. Yay! So yes if you like mango, boom, this place is certainly a place well worth going to. Enjoy!

There is a physical display of certain popular items where you can see from their entrance though. We ordered the mango & pomelo with sago, mango chewy ball, and the mango pancake. It's hard to choose favorites here but I really enjoyed the mango & pomelo with sago. It has mango purée base with sago pearls, pomelo pulp, and fresh mango chunks. Can't go wrong with their signature mango chewy ball either which has mango slush base topped with glutinous rice chewy balls and mango chunks. The mango pancake was a thin crepe-like outer layer filled with whipped cream and a slice of mango.
I love love love a delicious ripe mango! This dessert spot in the Dun Huong plaza focuses on mango and all its deliciousness. While there's plenty of non mango fruit options, the handmade mango desserts shine as the store's signature favorite! I ordered the mango trio which consisted of mango, pieces, mango ice cream, and sweet bean paste. It was definitely the perfect after dinner treat! Next time I will have to try one of the items with the chewy balls! The mango mochi looks great as well as the soft serve fruit. There's really something for everyone!
Another great Hui Lau Shan location! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop was clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the service was fast and friendly. My friend and I tried the Pomelo Mango with Sago and the Mango Coconut with Sago--both were so refreshing and delicious. We both loved our drinks and will definitely be coming back!
This place never disappoints us every time we come, even when we bring first time customers. yesterday we had a group of six people and three of them were first time customers. Everyone in our group liked what they ordered, ranging from the red dragon, fruit mango, slushy, pomelo mango drink, pomelo mango bowl. There's so much flavor packed into each drink and [[HIGHLIGHT]]they always keep the inside of the store clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]the very bright environment very well lit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
Maybe it was because I heard too much hype about Hui Lau Shan or I just ordered the wrong item, but I was highly disappointed with my visit here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside looked standard, but still nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was horrible. The person who rang me up had an attitude and didn't even say anything the whole time I ordered except when saying the total. She didn't even say hi. Customer service was not good at all. I got their Black Sesame Soup with Chewy Balls (with tax = $7.52) because my mom was craving it. It was really small and back ally had no flavor to it at all. It wasn't worth it, but I do hope they improve on their customer service in the near future.
If you are a mango lover I definitely recommend coming here. They have a wide menu of mango desserts. The staff is nice and are able to recommend item from the menu. The service is super fast even when it's super busy as I have gotten my order within 5 minutes of ordering. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is seating where you can enjoy your dessert but it can get cramped since it is a small shop and there is two large tables right in front of the register.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Along with the noise level being loud when busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, great for mango dessert along with another fruits too. I recommend the Coconut Jelly with Mango (C8) or Mango and Coconut With Sago Drink (D4)!

Wasn't super thrilled with the drink. The first 80% of it lacked any meaningful mango flavoring, and while it did get better towards the button of the cup it wasn't enough to save the overall experience. The service was pleasant and we got our drink extremely fast, but we got our drink so fast it felt like the drink was premade. This would've been fine if I enjoyed the taste but sadly I didn't. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did enjoy the atmosphere though, felt extremely cozy and could definitely have seen myself chilling out here for a couple of hours if I enjoyed their food a bit more.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
Their bubble tea is a little different as it's more of a smoothie or dessert type of drink. The service is fine but they do open later on in the day like at 12pm. Their main thing they look like they pride themselves in is the mango. If you're a fan of mango and smoothies or shaved ice this is probably the place for you. They had a few other things that were also dessert like to where you eat it with a spoon. As an avid mango lover, I was so excited to try this place since they have so many mango options! Even though they had a long line, the line moved fairly fast and we got our order within 5 minutes. We went around 10:30pm and rhey were still moving pretty quickly for processing orders. The Mango chewy ball was definitely my favorite and worth the hype! It was very unique and a must try dish at this restaurant! The mango coconut with sago drink was also amazing! The dragon drink was not that great. It has a very earthy taste more like red bean rather than dragon fruit so maybe the name is a bit misleading. The mango mochi was also good, but it wasn't as fresh as the other mango items there. I think I'd come back just for the mango chewy ball though!

Came here twice on my trip to Houston. I really loved the coconut jelly topped with mango. I tried some other things like the warm taro bowl or mango chewy ball with ice cream) but only the coconut hit the spot for me. The taro one was a tad too bland to me. As many reviewers suggested, I tried the mango pomelo sago. It had layers of fresh mango, fresh pomelo, mango ice cream, coconut milk, sago, and mango jelly. Truly delicious! This place is a hit or miss. The mangos were not in season when we went, so it was a miss this time, but I've been a couple times before, and it was very refreshing and hit the spot then. The service is also very fast because we got our food within 1 or 2 minutes max. I also needed a bag filled with just ice for a headache, and they were really kind to give it to me. Hui Lau Shan carves out a unique niche and they do it well! The mango swirl is one of my favorites. It has a strong note of mango base with fresh mango chunks inside. The creamy texture is reminiscent of drinking a mango mousse cake ( I mean it in the most positive way)! It was not too overly sweet and the mango bits were very refreshing. Service was pretty quick and expeditious given how busy they were. Weekends are incredibly busy and the weekdays are pretty robust as well. You may not get a seat right away due to limited seating, but you may be able to if you are patient and willing to stay and wait for just a few minutes. A lot of people also just do grab and go. This is a very interesting mango based Asian dessert hotspot at the center of Chinatown. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is very robust and lively, especially on weekends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating can be a little bit difficult on busy weekends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the staff are very straightforward and quick to take your order and fulfilled them. I had no issues with my order. We had the mango swirl for the first time. I would definitely go back for it again and again this swirl is a mildly sweet mango mousse cream like texture with chunks of mango inside. It's very refreshing and not overly too sweet. This is a place. I'd recommend to friends and family. The café isn't very spacious and can get loud during busier hours, especially on weekends. read more
Mango galore! They have so many varieties of mango and toppings in drinks and in little bowls. Usually I get the jumbo mango chewy ball, which is my favorite. It is so refreshing and I love the mixture of the chewy balls, with the cold ice cream, and the soft mango. Every bite is a little different which I enjoy too. This time, I wanted to try their drinks. I got the mango yogurt and my friend got the Pomelo and mango with sago drink. The mango yogurt tasted similar to vietnamese yogurt. It is on the thicker side with the perfect balance between the slight tartness of the yogurt and the sweetness of the mango. I wish it had something else to it though as it felt a little flat 6.5/10. My friend's drink had a good mixture of everything but I think I still prefer the bowl version. read more

Surprisingly, there was no wait when we arrived on Friday night at 10 PM. We have passed by several times and there was always a line outside. The cafe was packed but we managed to find a table after ordering. We ordered the durian pancakes, mango romance, and mango and pomelo sago dessert (not the drink). All are good, except the sliced mango in the mango romance, in the cup with the mango mochi. The mango had gone bad, had a slight acidic taste. We were finished with desserts by the time we tried it so no point in sending it back. I like how spaced out the seatings were, not feeling like I'm sitting on top of other people and plenty of space to walk by. Parking at this center can be a pain so try to utilize the parking garages if possible. read more
We got the mango crystal jelly and it was sweet and refreshing. The only disappointment was the mango juice tasted pretty bland and the color seemed a little pale/brown. It seemed a little watered down. The other locations had a sweeter more vibrant mango flavor to the desserts, but we were pretty disappointed with this one. The service was great. The mango chewy balls were unfortunately missing the chewy balls but that's okay, I still enjoyed it. The pomelo mango and mango chewy balls are like a refreshing smoothie bowl. Nice place for a sweet treat following a savory dinner from the nearby restaurants! Was pretty busy when my friend and I walked in but our orders came out within a reasonable time. They do have indoor seating but it can get pretty noisy since the space is small. I had the coconut jelly with mango and my friend got the egg waffle with mango ice cream and a mango & coconut with sago drink. Each item is generously proportioned, and in hindsight we should've just gotten 1 dessert to split between the two of us but they were both tasty desserts. This place is located in a busy plaza so they share a huge parking lot and a free parking garage with the adjacent businesses. read more

I've been to hui lau Shan a few times to try their mango desserts but this was the first time that I tried their coconut jelly with mango. I didn't realize that there were more items than just coconut jelly and mango, I shoudlve taken another picture of the inside. The toppings include mango, crystal jelly, and chewy balls. The mango was solid as always and the other toppings provided a variety of textures and chewy deliciousness. The coconut jelly itself was custard like and very very good! It wasn't too sweet but had that familiar coconut taste. It's almost like a tofu pudding. I really enjoyed this dessert and will definitely get it again. The only downside is that the place is always packed so it's hard to find seating. The like is long too but it moves quickly read more

We got the coconut mango sago drink and it was fire!! There was a layer of sago at the bottom mango in the middle and creamy coconut on top. We just came after a huge meal and it was the perfect dessert. My dad finished the drink in 5 minutes read more
